Thank you to everyone who left reviews on the first chapter of my story! I have read your feedback and will implement some of those things into the story, and for the people who think Fuutarou is acting a bit too out of character because of his now fighting background, that is the point of this fanfic, Fuutarou is not just some scrawny and studious teenager like he is in canon, this is a Fuutarou who has been shaped by his childhood experiences and one who is willing to enter illegal fight clubs in order for his family to get by, Isanari does what he can to get by and put food on the table but Fuutarou wants Raiha to have a normal childhood like going to the arcade which did happen in the manga because he could not accept the payment he was being given, goes to show how good of a brother he is and how far is he willing to go for her happiness. His motivation to keep going is that he wants to rid his family of debt and give Raiha a good and normal childhood.
With that being said, welcome to the second chapter of Uesugi Fuutarou: A Champion's Story! I I hope you enjoy and leave a follow or a review. Now let's get on with the story.
Chapter 2: A Moving Conversation
Wednesday (one day before the fight)
"And that concludes our grand tour of Asahiyama High School," said Fuutarou as he led Itsuki back to the main gate.
"Wow I had no idea this school was so big, I'm already tired from walking to each building and back to the main gate!" Itsuki exclaimed while trying to catch up to Fuutarou who had stopped walking.
She slumped down next to him and pulled her knees to her face, murmuring something.. he got closer to try and make out what she was saying…"I don't want to go to class if I have to walk across campus, what happens if I get lost on my way there" she said with a chibi Itsuki crying anime tears on her shoulder.
Getting lost on her way to class? he thought, "Hey Itsuki," he said, Itsuki's head perked up and she stood up straight with a "y-yes Uesugi-kun".
"Have you gotten your schedule yet?". He wanted to find out if they had any classes together since he realized her company wasn't as bad as he thought it would be, the tour was actually more than bearable
Even if he still thought that his time could have been spent better by going for a longer morning run than usual, he was fine with having given the tour since it was actually kind of funny seeing Itsuki frantically looking around so she could recognize anything that would give her an idea of where she was, although it was sometimes annoying when she would repeatedly ask him where the cafeteria was again but he quickly squashed those thoughts and instead thought of the positives, "at least now she won't get lost… hopefully".
While Fuutarou was thinking of how much he enjoyed Itsuki's company during their tour, he didn't notice the girl getting up, that was until… she poked his face with a "boop" sound coming from her mouth, "well that was unexpected but effective nonetheless" he thought, he looked down to look at her, she was pouting, mainly because she had apparently been trying to get his attention for the past five minutes, he quickly apologized and asked her what was up.
"Didn't you say you wanted to know what classes I got?" she said with an annoyed expression on her face. She had her hands on her hips as well so he knew she meant business.
What was life without a little mischief though? With that thought in mind he responded with "no I asked you if you had gotten your schedule yet, not what classes you got, think about what you say before you talk please".
His plan to annoy Itsuki worked and she puffed her cheeks, "that's the same thing" she said louder than usual, making some students look at them with disapproving glares since it was still early in the morning.
Fuutarou thought her angry response was both cute and funny and ended up laughing, once he was done, he told her "you're right, they are the same, give it here", holding out his hand, she handed him her schedule, he held them next to each other, scanning for her classes and comparing them with his schedule
"Huh" cam out of a confused Fuutarou's mouth, after finishing with comparing their schedules, it was the only thing he could say, Itsuki rushed over next to him to see what made him confused, looking over his shoulder she tried to make out what was on his slightly wrinkled schedule, he moved away from her before turning around to face her.
"U-uesugi-Kun, what's wrong?" she said nervously.
"Itsuki.. we have all the same classes" he said with a confused look on his face.
"Wait, isn't that good?" she said, trying to find out why he was acting so weird. Nothing came to mind since she didn't see them having the same classes as a bad thing, she thought that after the tour, they had gotten closer and could very well be considered friends.
"No, it's terrible, this has to be a mistake" he said, desperately wanting her to agree with him about all their classes being the same, a big mistake that he thought she would agree on, he received a nod from a still confused Itsuki who was still trying to wrap her head around how this was a bad thing?
What Fuutarou had said didn't even register in her head until moments later while she was nodding, and then, it struck her, "wait a minute, are you saying you don't want to have the same classes as me?"
But before Fuutarou could even have a chance at opening his mouth and explaining about how right she was, she started pounding his chest with her small balled up fists while yelling things like "that is so rude", "how could you possibly say that after that tour you just gave me", "you're such a meanie" "I can't believe you, how could you say that to a girl", unaware of the mental battle Fuutraou was currently undergoing
In Fuutarou's head, he just wanted to curl up into a ball, while he didn't think that Itsuki was annoying, he didn't know how he was gonna put up with her for the entire semester if she sat next to him! Thinking of pros, he made a mental list and listed out that she was smart, or at least relatively smart, reminding himself of how she said she would get lost while walking to class, he sweatdropped at the mental image of Itsuki looking around trying to find which way to go. Moving on though, she was funny, and he had found himself laughing at a couple of her antics and jokes, he also took notice of the fact that he did get along well with her but that wasn't the point!
There was a reason why Fuutarou didn't want friends, not only did most of the students find him weird because he barely talked in class but to him, hanging out with people when he could be training for his next fight did not sound like a good trade, he faced facts, him and people just didn't mix well.
Once he was done with his inner turmoil, he finally noticed that Itsuki was pounding on his chest with her fists while yelling things that made him feel like he did something wrong, it didn't hurt but she was making a really big scene so he had to find a way to calm her down, a head pat would do the trick he thought, he reached out to pat her head like he had done yesterday and was surprised when she froze up.
"Its like an off button, I'll have to keep that in mind" he thought with his hand still on her head.
"U-u-uesugi-kun, what are you doing" she said while looking up at him, blushing as she looked at him stare at her.
"I don't know, it was all I could think of to get you to stop" he replied with a smile on his face, "now can we please get inside, your yelling attracted the attention of lots of people" he told her as he motioned for her to look around them, as she turned around to look behind her, it turned out he was right, a large amount of people had stopped walking just to stare at the two of them.
"Kyaaa, that's so embarrassing" she said as she ran and hid behind him, "can we go inside now please Uesugi-Kun" she pleaded.
"On second thought, not yet, I want it to be a bit more awkward" he said with crossing his arms.
"Uesugiii please" she groaned while trying to give him her best puppy dog look. It didn't seem to be working on him.
"Dammit that puppy dog look is so working on me" he thought before motioning for her to start walking inside. He looked at his phone, 8:28 it read, "damn, we'll be late to homeroom if we don't start running now!".
"Wow his chest was really hard, why was it so tough? Judging by how normal he looks, its like it was hurting me more than it was hurting him" she thought while nursing one hand with the other, "i've never touched another boys chest before but his felt a lot stronger than what I expected a teenage boy to have'', she blushed while thinking.
Deciding now was the time to tell her, he turned to her and said "hey Itsuki, I don't think we're going to make it to homeroom on time if we don't start running right now" Fuutarou words pulled her out of her thoughts about his chest and they took off.
Getting to homeroom was a cakewalk for him because of his morning runs. Itsuki on the other hand, was having a little bit of trouble, it was clear she wasn't the athletic type. She was breathing heavily when they reached the door but managed to get in right before the bell rang, "and i'm safe" thought Fuutarou as he got to his seat.
"Good morning class, we have a new student today, please be sure to give her a warm welcome, if you may introduce yourself Ms. Nakano" said the homeroom teacher. Itsuki stood up straight to introduce herself while also trying to catch her breath from the unexpected run. She takes one last deep breath and starts:
"Hello, my name is Nakano Itsuki and I am very happy to have been given the chance to come to this school and be in your homeroom, I hope you'll treat me nicely" she said with a slight bow and smile at the end. The boys in the class went wild, yelling things like "will you be my girlfriend" or "want to have lunch with me", clearly they had love on the brain, or as close as they could to get to love, it was clear none of them had ever actually interacted with a person of the opposite gender before.
The girls were also going crazy but for different reasons, "what shampoo and conditioner do you use?", "are you on a diet?", their questions were a bit more… personal, to say the least, he thought.
While all the boys and girls who went wild went unnoticed, the boys who didn't say a thing were the ones who Fuutarou took notice of, "hm, Satoshi and his friends are the only ones apart from me who didn't react to her introduction, from what I hear, they're always trying to get at girls they find attractive and it wasn't exactly news that Itsuki was attractive". Hell even I think Itsuki is pretty cute so they have to as well right?, he thought with a bit of confusion.
Nakamoto Satoshi, was the captain of the basketball team, his friends weren't good at all but managed to get on it because Satoshi had apparently put in a good word for them, he didn't know if it was true or not but that was what he overheard sometimes while walking past the jocks table at lunch.
"Whatever, if they want to get at her, that's not my business, I don't own her" he thought as he turned around to look at the sky through the window, he thought about his side that still hurt a bit whenever he moved but it was starting to heal.. rather fast too he might add, he thought of that as good luck, Kami knows he needed it for his fight on Thursday.
"Thank you for such a wonderful introduction , you may sit in the empty seat next to , may you raise your hand so can find you" said their homeroom teacher.
"Not only is she going to be in the same class as me but she's going to be sitting next to me as well?!" he thought while raising his hand so she could see him.
Itsuki walked over to him and sat down in the empty seat, she turned to look at him and said "isn't this amazing Uesugi-kun? Not only are we in the same class but we're going to be sitting next to each other as we-" she cut herself off after she remembered how Fuutarou had acted when he had found out they would be classmates. She quickly turned away from him, giving an angry huff as she did so. If he didn't want to be her classmate then she didn't want to talk to him either, she thought she had finally one-upped him, but even though she should have been happy for doing so, why did she feel so sad about it?
Fuutarou noticed that she cut herself off when trying to talk to him but didn't push her on it, he just kept looking out the window, his mind too busy thinking about how he was going to win the fight tomorrow.
Class went on as normal with Fuutarou taking notes so he could review the material later on, he wrote little notes to himself in the margins of his notebook so he could better understand it, he'd much rather have a simplified definition while having his teachers notes instead of only having the latter, what happens if he gets hit really hard and gets amnesia? How would he go to class?
Itsuki was having a little trouble keeping up with the lesson, whether it was her inability to keep up with the content or the teacher's ability to rapid fire information, she didn't know, either way, she wasn't going to get all the content down, she looked over to her left to see Fuutarou with neatly written down notes, after thinking hard and looking at her options, she realized she had none, swallowing her pride, she quickly grabbed his attention and asked him if he could share his notes with her after class, "how humiliating, having to ask for class notes from the person who I made clear, didn't want to talk to anymore" she thought, at least he was nice enough to give her his notes, thinking back to how he made it clear he didn't want to be in the same class as her.
Once class ended, Fuutarou gathered his things and put them into his bag, remembering Itsuki had asked him for his notes, he pulled out his notebook and gave it to her, telling her to give it to him after school at the main gate. She nodded and walked away before returning to him, apparently forgetting to tell him something.
"Hey Uesugi-Kun, I almost forgot to tell you but I am going to be having lunch with my sisters today, so I won't be able to have lunch with you, sorry." she said with a sad smile, she was surprised when he said he understood and to have a good time with her sisters.
Itsuki just couldn't believe her ears, first he didn't want to be in the same class as her and now he didn't even care that they weren't eating together!? "Whatever, I'll just give him the silent treatment forever" she thought to herself before telling him, "fine, do whatever you want then, sit by yourself at lunch, I don't care but... if you didn't want to be around me anymore then… t-then you should have just said that!" shouting the last part out before quickly turning around and running out of the room.
"What the hell just happened" he thought, he didn't even know what caused her to make such an outburst like that, all he told her was that it was ok if she was going to eat lunch with her family, I have no idea why she just blew up at me like that, great now the whole class is looking at me like I did something to her, great, this is just great he mentally sighed, things with Itsuki would never be easy would they?
Fuutarou hurried out of the class, not wanting to be the victim of his classmates's stares any longer, he went to the cafeteria to get his lunch and began walking over to his table, sat down and closed his eyes to say his thanks for the food, when he opened his eyes, he was surprised to see Itsuki's face close to his, "too close" he thought.
"I thought you said you were going to sit with your family today... wait a minute, you're not Itsuki are you?" he said, thinking he had gone crazy for a second. This isn't Itsuki, this Itsuki has a green ribbon in her hair, the Itsuki I know has stars. This isn't my Itsuki, I'm sure of it, he thought.
"Shishishi you are right, I am not Itsuki, my name is Nakano Yotsuba but you can just call me Yotsuba and I am Itsuki's sister, she was talking about you at our table and saying how you were really mean so I came over to see if she was right and to the untrained eye, you might look mean but you're not, my Yotsu-eyes can see through all and I declare you to just be scary-looking" she said pointing at him with complete seriousness.
"What the fu-" he thought before diverting his attention back to the girl in front of him, so this was Itsuki's sister, that makes a lot more sense now, she never mentioned that they were twins so it's completely normal for them to look alike if that were to be the case. She also made him a bit uncomfortable if he was being honest, had she never learned about personal space as a child?
"Can you back up a bit, you're really close", he said to the girl who introduced herself as Yotsuba.
"Itsuki was right, you are cruel Uesugi-san" she replied with a slight huff, she had just wanted to see what kind of person he was, turns out he really was mean and cruel!
"The more I look at him though.. why does he look so familiar? He has a pretty sharp jawline and bluish black hair, hmm he's also kind of tall as well,", she didn't remember ever meeting him before, so why did she get the feeling she had? With this, Yotsuba had successfully managed to confuse herself; it seemed like, it took her a while to realize that he wasn't even looking at her anymore and instead was reviewing a pop quiz that he had gotten back from his teacher.
"What is that Uesugi-san" she asked while looking at his pop quiz.
"It was a pop quiz that we did in our last class, a math one at that, I still think I could have done better", he responded before sighing and putting it down, mentally taking a note to review it later on when there wasn't an Itsuki duplicate in front of him.
"Oh? What was your score," she said before reaching over to see his quiz paper, "it can't possibly be worse than what I go- whaaa, how can you say you could have done better?! This is a perfect score!". Her voice was starting to get louder so he tried to silence her with a shush, to no avail though, she kept on telling him that he had to have been some sort of genius to have gotten a perfect on what she deemed an impossible quiz.
"What was your score Yotsuba-san?" he asked before receiving a guilty pout from the girl, she retrieved her paper from her jacket's pocket and gave it to him face down, when he flipped it over, he wasn't surprised to see a 70 out of a hundred, "that's not too bad I suppose, a 70 out of a hundred seems like something an average student would get" he thought, on the outside though, he showed no reaction making Yotsuba think that he thought this was normal and that she was incapable of getting a better score.
"Once again, you're proving to be a real meanie, you knew the second you flipped it over that it would be bad huh" she told him, the nerve on this guy, she pouted angrily, reminding him of her sister, the resemblance was truly uncanny.
"What are you talking about, a 70 out of a hundred is not bad at all, that sounds pretty average to me" he responded, confused as to why she thought a 70 was a bad score.
"A 70?" she replied in confusion, she stood up and went around to be next to him before telling him, "oh silly me, that's not a 70, I forgot I gave it to you face down, you forgot to turn it around" she said with a smile on her face.
"Turn it around? So like this? Ok I don't think that really changes anythin-... Yotsuba-san" he asked, earning him a yes, "that score wouldn't happen to be a 7 out of a hundred, would it?" he asked her again, a little nervous about her answer, she was hesitant in giving him a response but finally gave him a sad nod.
"Yes, I did get a 7 out of 100 on my pop quiz," she said looking down in shame.
"I don't know what I expected, but it definitely wasn't this" he thought as he kept staring at her score, "I have never in my life seen such a low score before, do I ask her if she needs help studying or something?". Fuutarou almost felt bad for her but at the end of the day, if she didn't study that was mainly on her.
"Ok you can stop looking at my score now, it's kind of embarrassing now!" Yotsuba said quickly before grabbing her quiz from his hands and telling him it was nice meeting him before running away.
"Is everyone in Itsuki's family… weird?" he thought after his first time meeting one of Itsuki's sisters, wait a minute she said sisters right? As in plural? More than one? He shuddered at the thought of more Itsuki's at the school.
At least I made it through my first three classes and lunch period, only a couple more hours and I can go train for the rest of the day, he sighed at how troublesome today had been, missing his morning run in favor of giving Itsuki a tour, Itsuki being his seat partner in every single one of their classes, her blowing up at him for no apparent reason, this is why he didn't like having friends, he would never have to deal with this if he didn't have any, not to mention they had barely met yesterday and she was already stressing him out! The only thing that could make this worse was if she was his seat partner in their next classes as well.
She ended up being sat next to him in every single class together, and she didn't even talk or look at him throughout those classes, this wasn't necessarily a bad thing, maybe she had talked to some of their classmates and got the impression that he just wasn't that fun to be around, who knows.
Their last class ended and Itsuki packed up rather quickly, exiting the door before he could even get a word out, "guess she's actually mad at me, I thought she was just messing around, now how am I supposed to get my notebook back?" he thought while exiting the classroom and going to the main gate where they were supposed to meet up so he could get his notes back.
Fuutarou didn't see Itsuki when he made it outside to the main gate. He stayed there for a couple of minutes before deciding he would just get his notebook back tomorrow, he started walking home before seeing three guys behind a girl with… red hair? Is that Itsuki, and if so, why were those guys following her and why did she suddenly start running? Too many questions were rushing through his head until it dawned on him. They were going to do something to her!
"Shit, that's gotta be Itsuki, she was probably coming to meet me and bring me my notebook but ended up being followed by those three guys, she's in trouble" he thought as he started sprinting over to where he last saw her. When he turned the corner, what he saw disgusted him beyond belief.
The three guys had cornered her and were preventing her from leaving. He got closer and started to make out a bit of their conversation.
"Come on, you don't gotta be so difficult, me and my boys just wanted to go to this nice karaoke place we know and show you a good time, ain't that right boys? '' the guy said before turning to his friends who only nodded.
Fuutarou had heard enough and rushed the guy who seemed to be the ringleader, he tackled him to the ground as hard as he could before getting up a little to get a better look at the guy, the sight didn't surprise him as much as it should've, he thought but was still a little surprised to see it was Nakamoto Satoshi, captain of the basketball team, and he was betting his entire being that the other two who were with him were his friends from class, he didn't even know their names and already wanted to bash their faces into the pavement.
In the confusion of who had tackled Satoshi, Itsuki had managed to slip through the two accomplices' grasp and ran behind Fuutarou, shouting "Uesugi-kun, I am so glad you're here" before hugging him, surprising had just gotten up from tackling Satoshi.
Fuutarou knew that this wouldn't end well if he had to defend both himself and Itsuki at the same time, various ways of going about this were coursing through his brain, trying to find the most optimal solution before he came to one, he quickly turned to Itsuki and asked her if they had done anything to her, she shook her head.
"Ok look, I don't think I can hold them off and protect you at the same time, so while I'm holding them off, you need to get as far away as you can alright, go straight home and don't worry about me, you got that?" he told her, practically begging her to leave him so he could deal with the three of them without anyone around.
"No I can't leave you, I want to stay here with you, I can help, I won't get in the way I promise" she pleaded with him, it wasn't working though.
"Dammit Itsuki, I said no, that is final, do as I say and stop being so stubborn, you are in danger, I am in danger, we are both in danger right now, I will not be able to sleep tonight knowing that I put you in harms way, so leave!" he was yelling at this point, trying to get her to understand that she would only get in the way if she stayed.
His words managed to get through to Itsuki, she trusted him with every fiber of her being, "o-ok Uesugi-kun, I understand, go kick their asses" she said, he promised her that he would, putting a smile on her face, she started running away, "oh and I'll give you your notebook tomorrow so you better come back to me got it?" she yelled.
Fuutarou chuckled, it took a while but he finally got her to leave, now time to deal with these three idiots he thought. What he had failed to notice was that she had run in the opposite direction of the gate.
"You know, you guys really are scum, three guys ganging up on one girl, trying to get her to go with you to a karaoke place and have fun? You guys truly are lower than low" Fuutarou said.
"It was smart of you to send her away you know, it wasn't smart of you to stay here though, that was a good tackle though, it actually kind of hurt but it's still a three on one" Satoshi sneered, he had full confidence in their numbers, it was only one guy, Uesugi Fuutarou at that, the guy wasn't worth shit, the only thing he actually had going for him were his grades he thought while motioning for his friends to come closer, "that Itsuki girl was really banging though, we would've let you go if you had just let things happen with her but now, now we're really gonna beat your ass" he said.
"Yeah, I guess we'll see about that won't we" he said before raising his right fist to the side of his face and lowering his left fist to his midsection, he took a deep breath, "before everything goes to shit" he thinks.
He re-opens his eyes to see a fist coming straight for his face, "jeez, that punch has no technique" he thinks before quickly dodging it and countering with his own straight right to the person's face, he didn't really care who he had hit or how hard, all of them deserved to get their faces pounded into the pavement anyways, shit he thought, his side still hadn't healed and he had just overstepped, this was bad if they realized this, they could use it to beat him, he couldn't let that happen.
The guy he had hit stumbled back a bit before coming for him again, do they not learn? Well this just makes it easier for me, I won't have to worry about my side if they're the ones coming to me blindly, Fuutarou thought before sidestepping and swiping his feet from under him.
"I don't want to hurt them too bad or i'll be given full punishment for putting them in such a state, damn, they got lucky, if we weren't on school grounds, all three of them would be on the ground already", at least it gives me a chance to practice fighting multiple people at once.
The two boys who were still standing decided to rush him, seeing that they couldn't beat him one on one as they thought, they were sure he couldn't fight them all at once.
"They're both gonna rush me? If that's what they want to do then let's do this" he thought.
He blocked both punches that the first guy threw at him effectively putting them at a standstill so he could formulate a plan to beat the both of them, Satoshi took this moment of thinking and threw a punch at him as well, "this is bad, that punch is going to connect with the side of my head if it gets through" he thought, he tried to take his hands off of Satoshi's friend but he was holding him still, shit the first guy was only a distraction, how can I get out of this, if he hits me in the right spot, he could knock me out and they would start chasing after Itsuki, he couldn't let that happen so he did the only thing he could think of, he had to redirect where the punch would connect.
"Its either my head or my side, but this isn't just about me anymore, it's about protecting Itsuki as well, I know what I have to do, its now or never" he steeled himself by clenching his teeth before twisting his body so Satoshi's punch would connect to his injured side, Fuutarou let out a pained gasp and was let go.
"Good job holding him still man, jeez that punch kind of hurt my hand a bit, guess I punched him in the wrong spot but look at him, he can barely stand, let's hurry up and beat his ass so we can go look for that Itsuki chick" Satoshi said before starting to walk towards Fuutarou who lay on the ground, trying to get up and breathe.
"Shit, that hurt like a bitch" he really did question his decisions sometimes but this one was necessary, it was his head or his side, he tried to get up.. but his body wasn't listening to him!
"Come on, listen to me, I need to get up here or it's over for me and Itsuki, they're gonna go after her if they beat me here, I need to get up." he thought before closing his eyes and trying to focus on his breathing, "please.. get up, come on, work through the pain Fuutarou, you're better than this, get up, get up, get up" he repeated those last words over and over again in his mind before getting to one knee.
He got kicked in the face, Satoshi had kicked him in the face and he had gotten knocked back a bit, oh well, how long had this fight gone on? 5? 10 minutes?, it didn't matter, as long as Itsuki had gotten away safely, he closed his eyes, thinking that he had bought her enough time before he heard her voice calling out to him, telling him to get up.
"Uesugi-kun, get up, you need to get up, you said you would kick their asses, so get up and kick their asses like you promised me" he heard her voice say, damn did he really hit me that hard? I'm hearing voices from how hard he kicked me.
At least that's what he thought before hearing it again, ok why does her voice actually sound close, this is getting weird, he looked behind him to see… Itsuki.
"Holy shit, has she been there the whole time? How did I not notice her?" he thought before she said the sentence again, her words finally registering in his head, was he really about to lose to a couple of guys with no fighting ability? All they really had were strength in numbers, and three wasn't even that many people he told himself, he got on one knee and pushed himself up, back in his stance, the two rushed him again but he was ready this time.
When the first guy closed the distance between them, Fuutarou ducked under his punch, "there are many ways to knock someone out, all of them were on the face, between the eyes, the temple, and the jaw" he thought before pulling his hand back and letting it fly, he punched him square in the jaw, causing him to spin comically while also knocking him out cold.
Now it's time for Satoshi, he thought, Satoshi was backing up now since the guy in front of him had managed to not only defend himself against him and two of his friends but also managed to knock one of them out cold.
Speaking of which, where was the guy who he had fought first before feeling two arms intertwined with his, he hadn't noticed the first guy move at all! He was only focused on Satoshi and the friend who had rushed him. Satoshi was now running towards him, pulling back his fist, ready to drive it deep into Fuutarou's stomach.
Fuutarou, while surprised, also knew what to do in this situation, he moved his left leg to be behind his attacker's left foot and leaned backwards, causing them both to fall backwards. Satoshi, fully expecting them to stay upright tripped over himself and fell as well before getting back up and trying to stomp on Fuutarou's face with his foot, Fuutarou was ready for this again and moved his head slightly so Satoshi would end up stomping on his friend's face, the power behind the stomp knocking his friend out as well.
With it being a one on one now, the fight was even, Satoshi was once again backing up, trying to tell Fuutarou that this was all one big joke and if he let him go then they wouldn't tell anyone about what happened here and they would forget this ever happened, throughout his begging to be let go, he was backing himself into a wall before slumping down and holding his legs to his body, this only served to anger Fuutarou more, how could someone like him, captain of the basketball team, try to assault a classmate, attempt to fight him, not to mention lose, and now beg for forgiveness, it made no sense to him but he did want to be clear about one thing.
"What happened here, no one will ever know it, do I make myself clear?" he said, getting a nod from Satoshi who looked ready to pee his pants before continuing, "on top of no one knowing what happened here, you will apologize to Itsuki and never talk to her again or face me again, are we clear?" he finished, earning him another nod from the team captain, some team captain he is, he snorted at the thought.
"Oh and one more thing" he said, getting the captain to look up, before punching him with as much strength as he could muster in his injured state, knocking him out, there, now he had actually defeated them and could get an answer as to why the hell Itsuki was still here.
He turned around to see her running towards him and enveloping him in a large hug that toppled them over and made them fall to the ground. Fuutarou groaned in pain, not just because of the injuries he had sustained from the fight but because of the added weight that Itsuki was adding, and those two weren't mixing well if he was being honest, the pain from his side had gone from almost healed to the same pain he felt when he first got it.
"Hey Itsuki, how bad do I look right now?" he asked the girl who was still on top of him.
"Well, it looks like you kind of went through a war and survived" she responded, he honestly looked so handsome to her right now, with the sweat glistening off of him and his dirty uniform, it made him look more rugged, although she didn't like the idea of him fighting, the way he looked after was kind of hot if she was being honest, she would never tell him that though, she would die from embarrassment!
"Hey Fuutarou, I know I didn't make things easy for you today, but I want you to know that I appreciate you and everything you've done for me up until this point, even though I have only known you for a day, I feel like I have known you forever and I feel comfortable around you, so I guess what i'm trying to say is, t-thank you.. Fuu-kun." she said while whispering the last part with a blush apparent on her face.
She heard no response from him, not even a whisper or anything, she opened her eyes and saw that he had his eyes closed, he wasn't dead right? She was starting to panic before taking out her phone and dialing up someone to come pick them up.
As she laid there, next to him, she tried to think of why he had gone so far for her, before chalking it up to him just being Fuu-kun. She had been a jerk to him the whole day and he still came to her rescue, what did it mean? Was he just a guy who cared for her? Why did thinking this make her all happy as well, she didn't understand these feelings and hoped he felt the same way, but for now, she would hold onto them, until she knew for sure what they were and if he felt the same way, she would wait, because she knew in her heart, that there was no one else who she would rather want to be beside at this
