Hello guys and welcome to the next story of the RWBY Playing!

Why have I already started this story before I completed the previous one? Good question! And my answer is because... somehow my DMC5 save data was VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE, and I was SO SALTY! Imagine finishing Dante Must Die difficulty and then losing everything...

Anyway, I will try to update both of them simultaneously, but I won't promise a schedule, since I suck at making one.

Here's the first prologue! Enjoy!

Years later after the last story

Friday

Location: Schnee Mansion

"This should be the last one." Sitting in the personal library of the family, one young Huntress of Beacon Academy who now becomes the President of Schnee Dust Company is working on the papers of the projects that need her approval. "There… we go." Finishing her signature, the girl puts the paper back to the stack to her left, then raises her hands up and stretches. "What time is it again?"

"It's about dinner, madam Schnee." Turning to the exit door which opens slightly, Schnee sees the loyal butler of the family standing outside. "I suggest you finish your work quickly, because we have some guests for tonight."

"…Guests? I didn't remember inviting anyone." The girl replies uncertainly as she stands up and heads to the butler. "Is it urgent?"

"I believe you should be the judge for it." The butler winks, increasing the girl's curiosity.

"By the way, does…"

"Your older sister is also here tonight, and will be for the weekend."

"That's good." She nods in satisfaction. "It's been a while we met each other."

Despite being younger sister, she can keep her cool better than her elder sibling more natural while talking to the people higher than her (in rank). That's why she's the one in charge instead of her sister. And because of the difference in the work, they can't see each other that much.

"Hope she's still doing well."

"She's doing good… well, good enough to listen to them."

"Them?"

"WEISS!" Before she can even look who's in the dining room when Klein opens the door, the girl feels a red cyclone slamming right into her, causing both of them to fall flat to the floor that would hurt Weiss' back if not for her Aura. "Itsbeenmonthshowhaveyoubeenhaveyoueatenproperlydidyousleepwell…" The person who slammed into her now starts rapid-firing questions without a single pause between words.

"…Just slow down Ruby." Weiss can only let out a chuckle at her team leader's antic. "And it's less than a month. We also called regularly, remember?" She nudges the girl to let go of her, then turns her head to the smiling butler and asks: "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"They wanted to keep it as a surprise visit."

"Right…" That's so like her team. "Ok Ruby, can you get out of me so I can greet others properly?"

It turns out other than her own team, team JNPR has also joined the surprise visit as well. The teams and Schnee family (NO Jacques NOR Whitley if you have forgotten the old story) have a good dinner with each other and talk about how everyone's been doing.

Which won't be written down, at least in this story.

"So…" Cleaning her mouth with a napkin, Weiss then asks Blake: "I'm appreciated that you guys come and visit me, but why do I feel like there's something behind this visit? You could just call me and ask me if I'm free or not. You don't exactly have a good free time as well."

"Ask our active leader for that." The cat Faunus replies. "Although, the blame goes to 'our friends from above'." She even makes the quotation with her fingers.

"Oh Oum." Winter rubs her left temple. "Don't tell me something is going to happen?"

"It's not that bad sis. It's just another gaming night." Weiss reassures her elder sibling then turns to her mother and asks: "Would you like to join as well?"

"It's alright my dear. I…"

"You should join, madam Schnee." The Gunslinger of team JNPR speaks up. "Otherwise, 'our friends' didn't suggest us visiting your family."

"How long have we even talked to him anyway, years?" Yang jokingly asks. "I think the last time we met was when we were still Huntsmen and Huntresses-in-training."

"I don't think concept of time matters to them." Jaune replies with a laugh. "Anyhow, it would be great to have you join with us, madam Schnee."

"…If you insist." The woman replies with a smile. "Thank you for inviting me."

"Sweet!" Nora shouts. "Let's…"

"No need to rush, Nora." Pyrrha stops the girl from pulling something out. "This time we will let Weiss be the one in charge."

"That's right! It would be our dear Princess to do the honor!"

"…Ruby, don't just say it out loud."

"Oops, sorry."

Winter then notices Willow gesturing to get closer to her, so she leans towards. Her mother then says with a smile: "Weiss is surely happy every time she meets her friends."

The girl replies with the same expression: "I can understand why."

After setting up everything in her room, Weiss waits for everyone to get a comfortable seat before taking one herself and picks up the controller (BTW, just imagine her room however you want). When she pushes the console power button, it starts running, and the TV starts the game instantly. The Logo of CAPCOM pops up first, causing Weiss to instantly know what game they're going to play. "This is the next in the series, isn't it?"

"We asked about it years ago, remember?" Ruby excitedly asks back. "We didn't really know what game they want us to play though."

"I see." Weiss replies. "As expected."

Then, the 'TIPS' screen appears, with a character standing next to it. The person is a male in his twenty, he's holding a revolver in his left hand, and a sword is being held behind his back…

"That's Nero?!" Ruby asks out loud in surprise. "Wow! His look is so much different from the last one!"

"Oh man, I really should ask how to make myself look cooler." Jaune half whines, half jokes about himself after seeing Nero's sudden change of appearance.

"Now now. You don't really need that." Pyrrha giggles at her friend.

"He looks very mature… he has white hair similar to us." Willow starts commenting on the character's facial. "Why does he remind me of someone…"

Winter and Weiss exchange a look of 'They DO look similar' to each other, but decide to not say anything out loud.

Then, when the loading screen ends, the gamers are greeted by a mechanical right arm, which moves their fingers once before shining up, showing that it's working properly. The camera moves up to view Nero's back side of the head, then expands to show the game logo 'DEVIL MAY CRY 5' announced by a female voice. From what they can see, something enormous that can reach to the sky is in front of Nero, releasing some sort of red cloud. At both sides of the screen, buildings are being wrapped up by some sort of 'trees'.

"…The change of graphic is so drastically different." Ren comments. "Just how long has passed since the fourth game came out?"

"A whole decade." His Scroll suddenly speaks up, as he opens the screen to see only static, but the voice can still be heard. "You have no ideas how we DMC fans got so hyped up when the first trailer came out."

Willow hears the conversation and asks Winter: "Is that the friend you spoke earlier?"

"That's him, mother." The Specialist confirms.

"History of DMC?" Yang repeats the words. "Hey, this game is the fifth one in the series, right? How about you check that first Weiss?"

"I was about to ask if I choose it first." She questions back, which earns her nods and thumbs of approvals. "Here we go."

Long ago… a single demon challenged the Emperor of the Underworld for the sake of mankind. The demon would provide victorious, and seal off the underworld. That demon was the Dark Knight Sparda.

The known image of Sparda appears, with Rebellion pointing to the ground in front of him while being held in his hands as he stands proudly.

Willow is a bit intimidated by the appearance, and the story lines. "A demon… is this a different kind of Grimm?"

"Um…" She turns to Winter. "This game doesn't use our world's history. It's… a self-made one."

"Ah…" That eases the woman down.

Sparda's legend spread, and the Legendary Dark Knight was revered by mankind.

"Of all people, why him?" Nora glares at the screen when the image of Sanctus appears, pouts at the 'poor choice' of the developers.

But as the years slipped by, the memory of his deeds and the existence of demons faded from memory. After two thousand years, the seal on the Underworld began to weaken. The Demon Emperor Mundus sent his minions after Sparda's wife and twin sons in an act of revenge.

On the background, it shows the image of Mundus in his Aged God form while spreading his wings.

"That's low." Blake hisses. "Instead of going after Sparda, he sent his goons to kill his family."

"That's a bit of Sparda's fault." The 'old friend' replies. "Somehow he disappeared without a trace."

"It's still low."

"I never meant to defend the demons."

A woman's figure appears, as the story goes:

Sparda's human wife, Eva, stood no chance against the demons and lost her life. One of Sparda's sons, Vergil, went missing.

"Missing?" Nora questions. "We saw him in Fortuna in the previous game, right? Shouldn't Dante know already?"

Speaking of the person, he appears on the screen in his younger age: The only survivor was Dante, Vergil's twin brother.

The Logo DEVIL MAY CRY 3 appears, as the story continues:

Decades later, Dante was reunited with his lost brother, Vergil. Vergil survived the years with the help of his father's sword, the demon blade Yamato, and longed to obtain even greater might by unlocking the power of Sparda.

In the view, the older son appears while taking a low stance, and the ghost of his Devil Trigger stands menacingly behind him with glowing blue eyes.

There's a small moment the Devil Trigger appears clearly before turning into just a blue figure, though that's enough to send shivers on Willow's back. Even though it's just a video game, somehow she feels a great fear towards the person…

"Wait, isn't this the image in the game we played?" Nora questions. "But it said DMC 3."

"I don't see it being a problem, though." Ruby shrugs. "Maybe this one is better than what they had in the third game?"

"The song rocks." Yang says excitedly. "If it plays during a fight, hoo boy it's going to be satisfying!"

"Adam would agree." Blake nods.

Arkham, a man bent on obtaining demonic power, knew that unlocking Sparda's power would weaken the seal on the underworld. To this end, Arkham manipulated Vergil from the shadows to fulfill his deluded ambitions.

In the background, a bald scholar is spreading his arms to the side like he's observing the world. Then he raises his hands up in satisfaction that he has achieved his goal.

"So he's the original version of Sanctus, probably." Pyrrha guesses.

"Who is Sanctus?" Willow asks curiously.

"He's the one in a church's outfit in the previous scene." Weiss explains.

Conflicted over his feelings for his lost brother, Dante set out to stop Vergil and Arkham. Along the way, Dante met a demon hunter named Lady. Her lust for revenge against Arkham, the man who killed her mother, served to steel Dante's resolve.

"A small clarification." The voice in the Scroll speaks up. "Lady's the name she picked AFTER Dante called her that. She had a different name but she has stopped using it after her mother died."

"That's so bad." Willow gasps. "I couldn't ever imagine if I was in her situation."

'You were.' That's the Schnee sisters' thought, but they say nothing again.

After learning that Arkham was the real threat all along, Dante and Vergil teamed up to fight the mad scholar.

The image shows that Dante and Vergil each hold one of the former's pistols and point towards possibly Arkham, before they kill the 'blob boss'.

However, this comradery did not last long, as the two could not overcome their differences. The battle between brothers was fierce, but Vergil met his match. In the end, he refused Dante's help as he fell alone into the Underworld.

It shows the two having the fight, then Dante tried to hold Vergil to not fall into the Underworld but failed.

"Did Dante…"

"No Ren. Vergil purposely avoided Dante's offer to return to the Human World."

Soon after, Dante opened his shop for business: Devil May Cry. Fronting as a local handyman, he used his business to hunt down demons and collect information on Mundus.

"Where did he get the name from?" Winter asks curiously. "If it was me, it would be Devil Hunting or something."

"Remind me later to get you guys play the third one, okay?"

"OKAY!" That's Nora and Ruby's hyped response, causing the others to chuckle at them.

Some time later… A mysterious and beautiful woman appeared at Dante's door. The woman's name was Trish and she bore a striking resemblance to Dante's deceased mother.

To prove the statement being true, the game shows the figure of Trish and the image of Eva next to each other.

"That… is awkward." Jaune says. "Can it really happen? Like, two strangers that look so similar to each other?"

"Do you want me and Professor Oum to prove that?"

"You two are literally the same person!" The leader punches playfully on Ren's shoulder, as the two chuckle at the gunslinger's joke.

She led Dante to Mallet Island, where Mundus had been sealed away. There Dante faced a gauntlet of Mundus' minions, all of whom fell to the Devil Hunter's inordinate strength. One such adversary was revealed to be Vergil, warped into the demon known only as Nelo Angelo.

"That's horrible!" Ruby exclaims. "Vergil was forced to serve Mundus?"

"Demons are creatures known for their cruelty. Their principle is 'Weak serves the Strong' and you don't hope to change their views with words. You will have to prove your worthy with strength."

In the face of Mundus' cruelty, Dante's anger erupted like never before. The true power Dante inherited from his father Sparda was unleashed, which he used to seal Mundus away once again.

"At least he didn't show up again… right?" Blake asks uncertainly. "Maybe he returned in this game?"

Dante then returned to hunting demons with Trish and Lady at his side. Many demons continued to invade the human world, but not even demonic rulers rivaling the power of Mundus could match Dante's strength. All was at peace in the human world…

"That's quick." It is then followed by a chuckle from the Scroll. "I can understand the anime being a bit fast, but DMC2? That's gold."

"Why is that?" Willow asks. "Are the stories not irrelevant?"

"The anime is a bit of a filler, but DMC2 was SO BAD we fans don't want to count it into the main storyline. Even more when we talk about the rebooted version."

but not for long.

DMC4 Logo shows up.

A Sparda-worshipping cult known as the Order of the Sword aimed to take control of the human world through demonic forces. Thus Dante traveled to their base in Fortuna to assassinate the Order leader Sanctus.

"Oh that scene." Weiss slightly shakes her head. "We first thought that he was the bad guy. Turned out the Order was."

"The Order of the Sword… it sounds like the Black Fang." Willow tries to make a comparison between the two groups.

"They… do." Blake replies slowly.

Incensed by this affront, the Order dispatched young Holy Knight Nero to kill Dante.

"Holy." Everyone except Willow and Winter says instantly with pure sarcasm, then chuckles.

"…I can see why." The older sister of the Schnee now sees the right hand of Nero and understands their tone.

Nero learned of the Order's true goals during his pursuits of Dante, and was killed for it by the scientist Agnus.

"Thank Oum he did die." Yang groans, but then laughs. "His last opera is funny though. Speaking of that, there is…"

"Not. One. Word." Luckily Blake covers her mouth instantly, but the others' face slowly redden up.

"There is?"

"Nothing, mother."

Unbeknownst to all, Vergil's sword Yamato had been in the Order's possession. The blade resonated with Nero, reviving him with new demonic power. This was proof enough that the blood of Sparda coursed through Nero's veins as well.

"Well of course, he's Vergil's son after all!" Nora exclaims.

"...I'm sorry, but how?" Willow asks. "Vergil is Dante's twin, right? And Dante doesn't look…"

"They are both half-demons, madam. Their aging is slower than normal human."

Having learned of the Order's sinister plans, Nero confronted fellow Holy Knight and mentor Credo about his involvement. But alas, his former mentor had been working towards the Order's goals all along. On top of everything, Sanctus was revived with the aid of nefarious powers. Nero's beloved Kyrie was then taken hostage, and the lovers were absorbed into the core of the Order's ultimate weapon: the Savior.

"Scums." Weiss spats. That earns her nods of agreement.

Enraged over his sister Kyrie's treatment, Credo tried to save Nero, only to be dealt a fatal blow at the hands of Sanctus.

"…Except Credo. Still, he's still on bad side." Weiss backs down a bit.

"At least he had some honors, and didn't let normal civ…" Jaune is about to continue, but then he remembers the scene where the people got killed by the demons, so he shuts up.

Just when all seemed lost, the legendary Dante arrived to battle the Savior and rescued Nero.

Along the line, there's a picture of Dante making a pose while holding a rose in his mouth…

"Of all…" Yang laughs once before continues. "They picked THIS picture? Oh wow, they…" She laughs again.

"Enough, Yang." Blake's cat ears twitch in embarrassment.

Nero was then able to defeat Sanctus, and put an end to the Order's evil machinations. Dante sensed in Nero the same connection to Sparda's power, and so entrusted Yamato to the youth before leaving Fortuna. The two parted ways, and continued their fight against demons in defense of the human world. The two descendants of Sparda kept the world safe and at peace for many years.

"Until this game." Pyrrha adds.

But nothing lasts forever… and a crisis looms on the horizon the likes of which their world has never seen.

With the change of epic music and the logo of DMC5 shows up, the History of DMC ends.

Everyone slowly claps with some of them whistle in satisfaction. Willow now wears a smile as she says: "The summary is very good. The music is great as well. I think I made a good choice of watching with you."

"Oh you just have to wait and see madam." Ruby says excitedly. "We had a lot of fun doing some combination stunts by mimicking some of the moves in the game."

"The right game for the right job, huh?" Winter asks, which Weiss nods. "That explains some of the moves you made before."

"I'm happy that you all like the summary. Now, let's the game start."
