Thoughts on Harry Potter: I DO NOT LIKE MOLLY WEASLEY! I feel that she is insufferably overbearing for someone who spends a few weeks (at most) once a year with Harry for much of the series, and what some people would call “mothering” I call obsessively controlling. Also I think Ron is a selfish idiot, though not outright evil or anything. My writing will reflect this, though I will not be as harsh to the Weasleys as some stories (for example, robst’s “In this world and the Next”). Also Dumbledore’s actions (assuming his intentions are pure) are strange and I think his character went from “pretending to be crazy” to “outright senile” after about book 2, when he failed to notice a bunch of students getting petrified. There’s only like half a dozen creatures in mythology that petrify people, and only one is vulnerable to roosters or is linked to snakes (although i guess a medusa would count, but no link to roosters so...)

Also, I call bullshit on the epilogue. Maybe Harry and Ginny would have stuck it out due to Harry's non-confrontational tendencies and Ginny's forcefulness, but I firmly believe Ron would have said the wrong thing, Hermione would have argued with him, and they'd have broken up no longer than 6mo after the end of book 7. The saying opposites attract rarely works in real life, and staying happily together with someone who insults you and belittles your achievements/hobbies is not a recipe for a well-adjusted relationship. Also, as Hermione is arguably Harry's best friend and IS his most loyal friend in my opinion, when the inevitable familial snubbing of Hermione by Molly and Ron would happen, this would probably cause fights between Harry and Ginny leading to strain in that relationship. Basically I just think the Ron/Hermione pairing looks like a train wreck in waiting.

Rant on Naruto- Somebody pointed this out to me: If someone like Naruto can't handle having a chakra cloak around him because it literally degrades his body, how does someone like Sasuke manifest Susanoo? Especially the version with amaterasu fire around it, at some point they just begin ignoring the fact that that would require chakra levels like Naruto's, and they never really explain it. If it doesn't take any chakra then I just call bullshit on the whole concept because its just cheating.

A Lucky Glance: Chapter 3 is at 2408 words ATM. I tend to write as the ideas strike me and therefore work on multiple things at the same time (my wonderfully helpful friend Winona Lighteyes is hopefully not rolling her eyes too much at the number of stories she's reading from me, i think there're about 6 at the moment).
