The Thief whose name will be remembered.
Chapter 7.
More bad news.
Shouta Aizawa was not having a good day... Not at all...
For you see, first of all. He had to wake up early in the morning in order to drive himself to work. Where he spent his entire morning going over the registrations for the freshmen students.
You know. His usual "this one looks like he has potential" and of course the "this one looks like shit. No way he`s getting in".
That was the first part. Now the second reason came after he was done with the paperwork. Not even ten minutes later he was called by detective Tsukauchi. The detective told him that they have finished assembling all required documents for the foreigner. And that he was allowed to stay within Japan.
However... That wasn`t what caused him a headache. It was what the detective said next.
Apparently, the higher council didn`t really like the idea of giving a fourteen-year-old teenager a Visa. So instead they decided to relinquish that problem by giving him an alternative version in a form of a student's Visa.
Aizawa as soon as he heard that, wanted to smash his phone down. For you see. The student's Visa is only in use if the person is a transfer student from another country. Meaning they are allowed to stay in Japan for as long as their education lasts.
(A/N: I`m talking out of my ass on this. I don`t know if a student Visa exists or if I just made it up. Plus I`m too lazy to look it up XD.)
Now while that doesn`t sound so bad for any normal transfer student. Tim however was not such a case.
"Ugh... Why can`t things ever be easy..." The eraser hero thought to himself as he felt his headache grow stronger the more he thought back on the conversation he had with the detective. Luckily the old basterds were kind enough to give them the time to find a suitable school for the teen and gave them eight mounts of a time limit.
This is why Aizawa was now walking through the halls of the U.A. The room he was going to will either help his current headache or will just make it worse...
It didn`t take him long to arrive at his destination. Which ended with him standing in front of an all too familiar door. He let out a long, exhausted sigh through his nose before knocking twice on the door.
"Come in." A slight high-pitched voice answered him from behind the doors.
Aizawa already knew that getting the brat into any of the modern schools at his age was close to impossible. For he had no records of previous education, no previous school records, and sure as hell no degree to his name.
So his only hope of helping the foreigner. Was all set upon the shoulders of a person standing before him. Or was it sitting?...
Anyways. The person in front of him was a small white animal that seemed to be a crossbreed of a dog, bear, and mouse. He was 85 cm tall and was wearing a suit that was tailored to his size. He also had a long scar running over his right eye.
"Ah! Eraserhead! Welcome. It`s nice to see you." The small creature said in a cheerful voice.
Aizawa closed the door behind him and took a seat at the chair in front of the animal's desk. "Principle... I wanted to speak with you about something."
And thus the two pro heroes began their conversation.
Meanwhile. At one of the ice cream stores in Musutafu:
"Sob... Sob... Cough... Nyom... Nyom... Sob... Sob..."
Inside the well-known ice cream shops, that was located in one of the main streets of the city. Came a bunch of noises that sounded like someone trying to quiet down their sobs of sadness while shoving mouthfuls of ice cream in their mouth. Then choked a little once they eat it too fast before continuing.
Luckily the person trying to eat away their sadness was far away from other customers inside the shop, so no one could hear him... Well except for the one sitting across from him.
For Izuku was currently confused, worried, and terrified. The reason being was that his nemesis/best friend was currently shoving spoonful after spoonful of caramel and chocolate ice cream into his mouth. All while trying his hardest not to cry.
Izuku stumbled upon Tim when he entered the shop to get himself and his mother some ice cream to go. Since the two wanted to eat some and they had none of it back at home. So Inko asked her son if he could get them some.
And being the good son that he is. He went out to get it.
Once he got inside his eyes spotted a familiar slick brown-haired teen after looking around for a little. Surprised to find him here of all places, he went over to say hello to his long-time friend only to see what kind of a mess he was.
His eyes were red from all the crying and his hair was wildly spread out in all directions. His shoulders were hunched forwarded and he had the aura of depression around him.
"Sniff... Sniff... Nom Nom... Ugh... Fucking brain freeze."
Izuku didn`t know what to say as he seat across from Tim. However, he eventually did find his voice and begun to speak once his friend got over his brain freeze.
"U-um... Tim-Kun... Is everything alrig-"
"NO! IZUKU!" Izuku jumped in his seat when Tim finally acknowledged him in a yelling voice."EVERYTHING IS NOT ALRIGHT!" He finished by slamming his fists onto the table they were sitting at. Making many heads turn towards them, both the workers and customers.
Izuku and Tim both blushed from embarrassment once they realized all the attention was on them. Not wanting to look suspicious, Tim coughed into his hand and said. "Sorry, everyone. Didn`t mean to disturb you all."
Some murmurs were heard coming from the rest of the people in the shop but everyone went back to minding their own business.
The American let out a sigh after all eyes were off them and ran his hand through his hair. Fixing it up into its usual slick to the upper right side hairstyle. "Sorry, bud... It has been a rough day for me..."
Izuku let his startled face fall and he was looking at his friend in concerned curiosity. "Why? What happened?"
Tim looked around carefully, checking to see if anyone was still watching them. Before motioning to Izuku to come closer with his hand. Izuku did as requested and let his friend whisper into his ear.
"I lost all my earnings this morning..."
Izuku`s eyes widen at that. As he pulled back into his seat. "How?"
"Well... It all started with this woman..." Tim then proceeded to tell Izuku of what happened earlier today. And as he spoke he watched Izuku`s eyes get wider.
"You... You got chased down by Mirko!?" Izuku exclaimed quietly. Being mindful of the people behind him.
"If that`s her name then yes... And she owns me a crap ton of money because of that." Tim said in a sour tone while crossing his arms over his chest and closing his eyes.
"You are luckier than you realize Tim-Kun." The sound of Izuku`s worried voice made the teen's eyes open.
"Ha?"
"Mirko is one of the fastest rising heroes in Japan. Her current record speaks that she had never failed to underhand a villain. Not to mention she has been one of the fastest heroes to move up in rankings. She is currently ranked 5. but many believe she will move up the rankings by the end of the mouth." Izuku explained.
"So what you`re saying is. That I was chased down by a number 5. hero and I am the first one who managed to escape her? Man... I bet the press would love to hear about this." Tim said with a smirk while imagining what the news would say about Mirko getting outsmarted by a kid.
"Hmm, she probably held herself back. Otherwise, you wouldn`t have escaped her no matter how hard you tried." That comment from Izuku made Tim`s smirk drop and level his friend with a sour look.
"Jeez... Thank you Izuku. Way to raid on my parade..." Tim said as he rubbed his still sore forearms, hissing when a spike of pain ran through them. "Ngh... She sure hits hard tho. I tell ya that."
"Well. She does possess super-strength from what I know." Tim let out a huff at that information. He also noticed that his quirk had no effect on her. Clearly showing it to be a mutation type.
"Anyways. What brings you here? Looking for me or ice cream?" Tim asked Izuku who blinked a few times before his eyes widen.
"Oh right! I promised mom that I will bring us some ice cream home." Izuku said as he remembered the purpose behind his arrival.
"Well, you better get moving bud. Auntie must be worried about how long your taking." Tim said with a smile and moved his gaze to his own bowl of ice cream. Only for his smile to fall once he saw that it was half melted. "Son of a bitch..."
Izuku saw his friend's half-melted treat and felt bad for him. "You want me to-"
"No! It`s fine... I didn`t want it too cold anyways. I already got a brain freeze once, no need to get it again." He said as he began to eat it like it was a cake faster than the usual way.
"The way you`re eating, you`ll get it either way." Izuku thought with a sweatdrop. But decided to let his friend do as he pleases. He bought two pairs of double-boxed ice creams. One which contained strawberry and blueberry flavors. While the other contained green apple and lemon flavor.
Once he paid for them. He returned back to Tim who has just finished his bowl and was now holding his head within his arms. Nursing a giant brain freeze.
As if he knew. Tim simply said in a threatening voice. "Say a word and I`ll kick you in the mouth."
Izuku`s mouth went shut as the two got up to leave the store. With Tim playing for his ice cream with money he most definitely didn't steal from someone while leaving the train.
The two teens walked down the road at a matched pace with Tim, having his hands inside his pockets. As they walked, they exchanged the idle chit-chat. Which was mainly Izuku asking how Tim was adjusting to his new life.
Now keep in mind that Izuku didn`t know that Tim was living with a pro hero. He only knew that he was adopted on the same day he was let out of the hospital. The young green hero was happy for his friend and asked who were his guardians.
When Tim told him about Shino. Izuku immediately went into his fanboy mode and started asking his friend a bunch of questions. Those questions were coming out of his mouth in rapid-fire motion, some even sounding over others. Making it hard for Tim to understand his words.
A good slap to the forehead shut Izuku up. The green-haired teen realizing what he was doing and turned forward while blushing in embarrassment, rubbing his arching forehead as well.
"Seriously... You gotta fix that habit of yours bro. You can`t always just freak out whenever there`s a mention of a hero." Tim said in an annoyed tone as they continued on their way. Making a turn into an open alleyway that leads to Izuku`s home.
"S-Sorry... I can`t help it sometimes. I just... Get so excited over them. You know I love quirks and heroes..." Izuku said in his timid voice. Which made Tim let out a sigh of understanding before smirking at his friend.
"Yeah... You got me there. Just don`t get like that when we face each other out there for the first time." Tim said while motioning with his head towards the city behind him. "Because god, will that be embarrassing for both of us."
Izuku`s head lowered at those words. His face adopting a somewhat of a sad look as he was reminded that one day, the person beside him will become his rival/nemesis for life. All the stuff they are doing now will no longer be possible for them.
For he will be the keeper of justice. While Tim will be the one to steal from others. He will be a hero, while Tim will be a villain...
He didn`t want that... He didn`t want to lose his friend like that...
A few seconds passed before Izuku rose his head to look up at the taller boy, who was looking down at him with concerned eyes.
He needed to change his mind somehow... He didn`t want to lose his best friend to the criminal life.
"Tim-Kun... I don`t think you should-"
"Well, I think it`s about time I head home as well." Tim interrupted before sprinting off the other way. "Take care Izuku! Make sure to say hi to auntie!" Izuku watched him wave at him as he disappeared behind the corner of the street.
Izuku let out a sigh of disappointment before turning back, on his way towards his home. Promising himself to try and talk to Tim about his decision the next time he sees him.
Later. Inside Shino`s house:
Tim entered the house and took off his shoes. Leaving them in the hallway before entering the living room, where he found Shino sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorns in front of her. Watching a Japanese series on the T.V. Her head moved towards his direction when she heard footsteps approaching.
"Hey. Your back! Hope you didn`t get in any more troubles out there." She said with a teasing smile.
"Tried not to... Not my fault it keeps finding me." Tim answered in a joking matter before hopping onto the couch beside Shino. "So... What are we watching?"
"Just a series about two people who fell in love with each other. But can`t be together because their families hate one another." Tim hummed in understanding at the summery. The two continued on watching the show while tag-teaming on the bowl of popcorns until it was empty. Shino let out a groan as she stretched out her arms above her head and let out a yawn.
"Long day at work?" Tim asked after she was done stretching.
"Not really. I`m just about ready to go to bed. You should go as well." Tim nodded at those words and hissed when he felt soreness in his forearms. Something Shino took noticed of.
"Are you hurting? I thought your ribs healed up." Shino said in a worried voice.
"Eh. It`s just a bit of soreness. It will pass." Tim reassured her and got off the couch ready to go off to bed. When the sound of the doorbell made the two turn towards the doors. Both were wondering who would come over at this hour since it was nighttime. They exchanged looks between each other before Shino went to answer the door.
A few moments later Tim`s eyes widen to the size of dinner plates once they fell upon their visitor who Shino let in.
It was Eraserhead.
"Tim. Aizawa`s here to talk with you." Tim got up on his feet after Shino said that. Looking up at the taller man in the eyes.
"... Well?" Tim`s rude reply made Aizawa`s eyes narrow into a glare. He wordlessly reached inside his shirt with his right hand. And pulled a folder out of it. He then opened it up and pulled out a single piece of paper from it. Both Tim and Shino rose an eyebrow at the paper as it was presented towards the teen. He took the paper from him and read over the words.
His eyes were narrowed as he read but grew wider the more down he went. After a few more seconds. He crumpled the paper in his hands and throw it onto the ground.
"The fuck is this shit!" He shouted out at Aizawa whose eyes glared harder at him after that sentence.
"Tim! Language!" Shino scolded in displeased tone before reaching for the ball of crumpled paper. She quickly read over the contents of the paper and looked at Aizawa with a shocked look once she was done.
"Aizawa... Is this real?..."
"As real as it gets..." Aizawa replied in a gruff voice. "The old bastards don`t feel comfortable with letting a foreign kid. Rome around the country like he lives here. They said because he was a miner, so they wouldn`t allow him to have a full-fledge Visa. Only the student one."
"So that means..."
Aizawa conformed Shino`s words with a nod. "You`re gonna have to go to the school brat."
"FUCK NO! You take that shit to whoever you got it from! And tell them to shove it up their as-"
"TIM! WORDS!"
"NO SHINO!" Tim yelled out before turning his glare towards Shino who had a shocked look on her face after hearing him. His face softens a little when he saw the way she was looking at him but it came back quickly after he turned back to Aizawa. "This is bullshit! I will not go to any fucking school! No way!"
Aizawa`s eyes glowed red. His glare growing deeper as he took a step closer to look down at Tim. "Now you listen here. You foul-mouthed little shit..." Tim deepened his own glare but said nothing. Letting Aizawa continue. "We put a lot of effort into your problem. A problem. That we wouldn't have to deal with if we found out about you, way earlier. So maybe you could be a bit more respectful towards the people that are trying to help you. Instead of acting like a little shit, you are."
"Tch..." A feeling of guilt took a hold of him. But he didn`t let it show. "I do appreciate what you guys are trying to do... But I will not go to any school."
Silence fell over the room afterward. Aizawa stared the boy down for a couple of seconds before turning around and begun walking.
"Where are you going now!?" Tim questioned the pro hero in a much calmer tone.
"To tell Tsukauchi your decision. Looks like we`ll be going back to the USA." Tim`s color fade from his face. He stood there frozen for a few seconds before saying out in panic. "WOAH! WOAH! WOAH! Hold on!"
Aizawa stopped in the middle of the hallway that leads to the front door and turned to look at the teen with a bored look. "... Fine... I`ll go to your fucking school."
"Hmph... Thought so." Aizawa said while turning back to face the kid. Shino arriving in the hallway as well. "However... That`s easier said than done."
"What do you mean?" Tim asked.
"You`re a fourteen-year-old teen. Meaning that around this age you are supposed to finish with your high school before moving on to a bigger one. Unfortunately for you. None of the schools will take you in. Since your education documents are none existent." Aizawa explained plainly.
"Then... Does that mean I`m screwed?" Tim asked in plain yet you could detect a weak sound of worry in his voice. Shino however seemed to notice this and put a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"You are." Aizawa`s answer caused great disturbance to both of them. As they felt their hopes weather away. "Or at least you would be. If it wasn`t for me pulling a couple of stings on my end."
Hopeful looks caused Aizawa`s eyes to narrow again but said nothing about them.
"Huh?... But... Why go so far as to help me? You don`t even know me!" Tim said. Confused as to why this man was helping him so much.
"I`m a pro hero... It`s my job to help others, that can`t help themselves. Less I want more villains in the future." Aizawa said in a less harsh tone than before. His gaze softening a little as he said. "Don`t think you`re alone in this kid. You may be a giant pain in the ass of a child I ever meet. But even so. There are people. Good people that will give you a hand out there."
As to confirm his words. Shino`s grip on Tim`s shoulder tightens gently. Ensuring him that she is there for him as well. The teen flashed a grateful smile at his guardian before turning back to Aizawa. "Thank you... I guess you`re not as bad as I thought."
Aizawa leveled him with a flat stare before saying. "Don`t thank me yet brat. Since I did my part in this. You still got to complete yours."
"Ha? What do you mean?" Tim asked which afterwords Aizawa pulled out another piece of paper from his shirt. "Why is he keeping them in his shirt!?"
"This is what I mean." He said before handing the paper over to Tim, who took it and begun to read again with Shino looking over his shoulder to read as well. After reading the first few sentences. Shino`s eyes widen in surprise before looking over at Aizawa.
"Aizawa... Is this really..." Shino began to ask but Aizawa answered her again with a nod.
"Yes... The hero recommendation list for U.A. Academy..."
Silence once again took over the house. The two residents of it stood there in shock while their guest looked at their reaction with a stoic look.
Time passed with no one saying a word. Until...
THUND!
"Tim! What happened! Hey, wake up!" Shino`s panic voice echoed throughout the house.
For the young teen had fainted and hit the floor face first.
A/N: Sorry for the bad chapter. Just really wanted to get this scene out of the way. I think I made it obvious about the whole thing. This is why I skipped most of the stuff since I assume you can tell where it was going. The next chapter will be much better than this. So I hope you guys don`t mind it too much.
Thank you for reading. Hope it was bearble.
