This is an attempt of a crossover I've recently thought of with Castlevania and Owl House where Luz is a Belmont and the people of the Boiling Isles are both familiar and Unfamiliar with Castlevania Lore. More will be explained later on...

The year was 1999 and a young by the age of 19 found himself in a hospital bed, wearing only a patient's gown as he sat up, rubbing his head. He had flowing red long hair and pale skin, but judging by his face, he seemed rather charming and had a healthy, muscular body. As he sat up, a young nurse, no older than him came to his side and took hold of him. The nurse had tan skin, dark brown hair in a bun, red frame glasses and silver studded earrings. She looked at the young man with concern.

"Easy." She said. "You've had it a little rough."

"Where...am I?"

"In the hospital." the nurse answered. "From what we were told, you were in an accident. Remember?"

"I...I do not."

It was then that the nurse had forced the young man back down as she went over to look at a clipboard with the man's results on there.

"Well, it looks like you'll be able to make a full recovery earlier than expect, Mr. Belmont."

"Is that my name?" the man now known as Belmont asked, surprising the nurse.

"You...you don't even remember that?"

"I...I don't remember anything."

Looking at the clipboard again, the nurse wrote down that the patient seems to be suffering amnesia. And while she was at it, she also looked to see what the full name of her patient was. She knew that the others called him "Belmont", but they've yet to know his real name. Strangely enough, the line were his first name should be was...unmarked. There was only a "J" there, so it was anybody's guess what his first name could be.

"Well...J." The young nurse had begun to say. "I'd advise you to get some more rest. I'll come by to get you something eat soon."

Before she could leave, J had taken her by the hand and she could see him smiling at her. The nurse didn't want to admit it, but she felt a bit of a spark when their hands touched.

"You seem very nice."

That made her blush a little. She gently pulled her hand away and smiled back.

"Well, you're very...cute."

Then "J" asked "What is you name."

"Camila. Camila Noceda." she answered.

J and Camila got more acquainted after checking out of the hospital. Enjoying one another's company, having gone on a few dates, embracing one another. All of this eventually turned to...Camila being caught off guard when Belmont presented to a her, a ring. The rest of their lives together was sealed with a kiss as it eventually turned to Camila having a baby. It first, they fought over the name of their new daughter, but then, they figured it out...

"So we agree?" J asked his wife.

"I'm hoping so." Camila said with a laugh, holding her baby girl in her hands.

"You hear that, Luz?" J said, cooing his daughter. "You have your new name. And I know you'll do us proud."

A few years later, when Luz was but about 4 years old, J was beginning to regain memories of his past and spoke to Camila about. It was after they managed to put their daughter to sleep that they talked about this. He said that remembered...being a hunter of some sort, and using...a flail?

"I don't know what it means." J said to his wife, who was listening and found it a strange thing to remember. But, there was something Camila had remembered with the rest of Belmont's belongings when he had arrived at the hospital that fateful day.

"Wait right here." she said to him as she rushed to their bedroom and began to dig through the closet until it revealed a box. Opening it, it showed a dark leather whip inside.

She kept it from him, unsure of what it might bring up if he'd seen it. But, now she felt would be an appropriate time to reveal it. Upon giving it to J, Camila watched as he examined it and it looked like he was regaining more of his past. Yet, it also looked like as if he were in a trance.

"J?" She called to him as him as he turned to her and said...

"Julius."

"Huh?"

"My full name..." He said to her. "...is Julius Belmont."

"Does this mean you remember who you are?" she said to him."

"Yes." He answered, smiling at her. "But it doesn't change...how I feel about you."

The couple smiled and embraced one another, but not before a tiny voice called out to them.

"Mommy? Daddy?"

They turned to see their little daughter at the door, tears flowing down her face as she had looked terrified. Julius went over and picked her up.

"Luz? Are you alright?"

"I...I saw a monster in my room."

"A monster."

"Oh, Luz." Camila said in a calming tone. "There are no monsters. You just had a bad dream."

"But-"

Before the little one could say anything else, an explosion occurred in what used to be Luz' bedroom. The 4 year old screamed as Julius and Camila moved back into their bedroom as quickly as possible.

"Here, take her!" Julius said, giving Luz to Camila. He then moved back out into the hall to see what was going on. Much to his surprise, what caused the explosion was not something to expect as Julius found himself surrounded by black armored warriors with weapons in hand and glowing red eyes...and fangs.

"Scum of the Belmonts." one of them said in a demonic voice. "For our fallen master...you will die."

"Julius!" Camila cried out as she saw her husband surrounded by the warriors. Julius took a glance at his wife before turn his attention towards the warriors. A killer instinct awoke inside of him as he attacked first and it seemed to look like the most natural thing he's done in his life. Camila watched in awe, seeing her husband attack the warrior with such brutality, using their own weapons against them before remembering something.

"Camila! My whip!"

Understanding, she quickly rushed back into the room, gets the whip and throws it to Julius.

"Here!" she said, throwing it. Belmont caught the whip easily and started to use it against the creatures. What was most surprising was that the warriors had seen to burst into flames and turn to ash as soon as they were hit with the whip. She didn't want to believe that any of this was happening and that it's all just a bad dream. But then, she heard Luz screaming as she saw another creature coming from their room, holding the little girl in it's arms.

"No! Luz!"

"Mommy!"

"Camila, get down!"

Doing as she was told, she watched as Julius had thrown an axe out of nowhere and hit the creature straight in the head. Luz scrambled to get out it's grip and rush to her mother, who quickly picked her up and hugged her closely. Camila looked at Julius and saw more than just the man she married. She saw a warrior...one with a destiny...

The next morning, outside their destroyed house was Camila trying not cry as Julius, holding Luz in his arms, said that he had to leave.

"You will not be safe if I stay with you." He said, before gesturing to Luz. "Neither will she be."

"What's gonna happen to you?" Camila said with a breaking voice.

"...If I can...I'll find my way back to you. Once this is all over, we can be a family again." He then takes another look at his daughter and comes a decision. "She'll be safer in your hands than mine.

He then gives Luz over to Camila, who holds her ever so sweet and gently. But then, he also gives to her the whip, much to her surprise.

"Hold onto this as well. If anything, it will never have to be used."

Julius then looks at his daughter, and combs her hair with his hand, to which she enjoys. It made Julius smile, if only for a little moment, knowing that even if he leaves, they may still come for her.

"With my blood running through her veins...they will still come for her." He said to Camila. "You must hide her scent."

"Huh?"

"Take her somewhere far away. Find a new life, one where they cannot be able to find you."

"O-Okay." Camila said.

Then, he caresses his daughter's cheek once more.

"Stay strong, my daughter. One day...one day, we'll be together again."

...He never came back. And after ten years, Luz grew up to be a bit of a loner. Never fitting in anywhere, barely saying anything to others...occasionally picking fights. And over the years, has she had the strangest of dreams that are about people she's never seen before, yet are strangely familiar to her and other kinds of scary and unusual creatures that these people had fought. With vivid detail, does she write draw these characters, practically creating a journal of things that would usually exist in ghost stories or fairytales. She drew monsters, swordsmen, hunters, warriors and weapons, and she spoke about them all the time. This concerned her mother, as she wanted Luz to forget all about this and try to put it behind her. But that was easier said than done.

If that wasn't bad enough, whenever something strange happens, it's always around Luz and she gets blamed a lot of this kind of stuff. Like the time there was a school play and "ghost" had come out, playing the roles of Romeo and Juliet dancing; Luz was there and was somehow able to make the ghost vanish, yet the school believed that it just her pulling a prank. Then, there was the time art projects came to life and Luz was the only one who could stop them; yet, she took the fall again, getting blamed for another prank. And last but not least, the time where they were holding cheerleader tryouts, and this is a funny one. A female cat-demon with blue hair and a black leotard shows up and starts attacking everybody with swiping high kicks and lunges. And guess who was there to save the day and take the blame for yet another prank.

The only one who never truly blamed Luz for these incidents was her mother, as she was warned that this would continue to happen. Perhaps, she wasn't trying as hard to find the scent of her daughter. Still, there was no real way to explain what was going on without making her daughter look bad, and that last thing Camila wanted for Luz to start resenting her for not supporting her with this kind of stuff. It was tragic, but all she was doing was trying to protect her.

Now, a 14 year old Luz B. Noceda sat in the principal's office, in trouble and yet another thing that wasn't even her fault. Her mother was there, standing by the principal, who talks about a little incident, involving Luz's book report...

"We don't know how, but your daughter had managed to sneak live snakes into the school upon turning in her book report."

"All I did was hand it over to the teacher and the snakes came out of nowhere!" Luz yelled out in anger. "How could I have do this?!"

"Well, you have been known to act out, Luz." The principal said. "Given your isolated behavior and the strange things you draw during class instead of taking notes."

"Okay, so I don't fit in with others. Big deal." Luz angrily said. "Cut me some slack. It's not my fault weird things happen around this stupid school!"

"Luz!" Camila exclaimed, making her daughter shut up.

Then the principal said "Look, I know it's been hard for you, since we've been told that you've not got over your father's disappearance, but-"

"Who told you about that?" Luz interrupted. She always hated whenever someone brought up her father, which was understandable. Still, she never took it too well as she tended to lash out on other people who brought it up.

"Well, we've just heard that-"

But then, Luz angrily interrupted again, saying "I don't want to talk about my father. I don't wanna hear anything of it!" She then raises her fist and slams the desk while saying "And I sure as hell don't wanna hear anybody else say something about it!"

When she slammed the desk, both adults felt a force upon impact, seeing the small crater Luz had left there. This was a huge concern for Camila, as she knew that Luz had inherited this sort of inhuman strength from her father. But that was not the only impact Luz left here as a reluctant choice was made. Back home, Luz found herself forced to pack up some things as she was being sent to Camp Reality Check for the summer.

"Luz, you have to understand that this is for your own good." Camila told her daughter.

"I don't see how sending me to a stupid camp is gonna-"

"This is gonna be good for you." Camila interrupted her daughter. "...I don't expect you to understand."

"...Right. I don't understand. I never do." Luz growled at her mother as she finished packing. Camila knew that her daughter was not to blame for any incident, and was very much in touch with reality, but she hoped that sending her this camp would hide the scent of her familiar blood from anything that could harm her. She still couldn't believe that any of this was happening, that monster and other things were continue to hunt her down her daughter. She may not be able to stop it, but she could at least try to protect Luz.

Speaking of whom, Luz was outside, waiting for the bus to come and pick her up. She was looking through the journal of all things she's wrote and drawn about; the monsters, characters and weapons she's always dreamed about. Reluctantly, flipping through the pages, Luz closes and throws the journal in anger across the street. And then, rummaging through her pack, she pulled old the old leather whip she found in her mother's room. Luz never questioned why her mother had this, assuming that Camila went through a weird phase when she was younger. Still, she couldn't help but feel attached to the whip, like she was always meant to hold it in her hands. She didn't have time to think about this, as the sound of wings flapping made her look up to see a brown owl taking hold of the journal she threw, and putting it in a bag before taking off into the woods.

"Hey! That's mine! Hey!" Luz said before getting up and runs after the owls. She continued to follow it into the woods before she saw it fly into an old desolate house. Without a second thought, Luz continued to chase after the owl, unaware of the fact that she was chasing it through a large glowing doorway. Wanting to put an end to this, Luz takes out the whip and raises it over her head.

"Give. That. Back!" she yelled as she launches the whip, and with great accuracy, strikes the owl, which sends it flying through a tent flap. Then, Luz noticed that she was in a totally different place as she sees a lot of weird of stuff. "What the-? Where am I?"

"Owlbert? What happened?"

Hearing a voice coming from outside the tent, Luz looks to see a white skinned woman holding the brown owl in her hand. She could see that the whip left a bit of a mark on the owl.

"It's only a scratch. It'll heal later on." The woman said as the owl then flew on top of a staff the woman held, twisting him around as it became a wooden fixture on top.

"What the-?" Luz said in shock.

"Now, let's see what he brought today." Then she pulls out various items from the bag the owl had, such as phone, "Garbage" a diamond ring, "Garbage" and a golden chalice "Garbage"

Luz knew those things were worth a fortune back home as she thought this woman was stupid or something. She thought her point was proven when the woman pulled a pair of joke glasses with spring eyes and said "Now these will make me rich." Then the woman took out Luz's journal and said "Now this will make good kindling." as she held it over a candle, starting to burn it.

"Hey!" Luz shouted as she took the whip and swung it, make it wrap around the journal and swiping it from the woman's hand. Taking her journal back, she ran into the tent, but before she could head back through the doorway, it shuts close and folds up in a case which floats over the woman, who was revealed to be wearing a sleeveless red dress, a red and polka-dotted scarf around her long, grey, lion mane of hair and center orange jewel on her chest. She was also holding a key with an eye on it, the same eye that was on the door.

"You're not going anywhere." The woman said in a threatening tone. But without a word, Luz took her whip and strike her with it, sending the woman backwards while Luz run and headed underneath the back of the tent. The woman wasn't hurt but was rather surprised as she had only one question before.

"...Where have I seen that whip before?"

Before Luz could go any further, she saw that she almost slid off the edge of a cliff as she saw before her a strange looking town, looking to made up of far too many arms and teeth. And with stranger denizens, with a cloaked figure holding an ice cream cone which eats someone, the legs of what appear to be a giant chicken, a centipede-looking thing opening its mouth to let a winged creature fly out. The latter two kiss before going their separate ways. Luz's eye twitched as she could not believe what she was seeing.

"What the hell?" She said before getting scared of a purple colored fairy showing up right in front of her. "Fairies too? Are you even real?"

Then, the fairy reveals it huge sharp teeth, shrieking "GIVE ME YOUR SKIN!" before Luz ends up smacking it in fear.

She then said, "Okay! Something better start making sense, or I'm gonna puke!"

"I don't think so, kid."

Hearing the voice of that woman behind her made Luz swing her whip around, only for it to be wrapped around the staff of the woman, who pulls at, dragging Luz closer as she struggles to pull back.

"So tell me. Where did you get this whip?"

"None of your business!" Luz said, continuing to pull before the woman allows the whip to be unwrapped, causing Luz to lose her balance. The woman grabs hold of her before she falls down.

"Try something like that again and you'll get yourself killed." The woman said to Luz as they both glared at each other. "So how about we try again and tell me where you got that whip from?"

"It belongs to me! That's all you get to know." Luz said, shaking the woman off before walking off. "Now, if you excuse me, I gotta find a way home."

"Hold on." The woman says, irritating Luz. "You wouldn't mind buying something before running off, now would you?"

Now, Luz was confused as she found herself in front of a stand had a bunch of stuff from her world. Most of it was junk as the woman showed her a "human foot filled with holes" which was just a croc "a bar of green human candy" which was just deodorant and a "black shadow box which only reflects sadness", which happened to be an portable tv.

"Yeah...that's not the only thing it shows." Luz said as she looked around and picked out two batteries from a tray that said "Human Candy?" and put it into the battery slot. The TV then turned on to show a 1980s jazzercise video. This was enough to get the attention of other denizens who were allured by the TV.

"Huh? What's that?"

"The sound. It's so alluring."

"I'll pay 40 snails for the screaming box!"

"I'll give you a hundred!"

"Can I eat the tiny person inside?"

Luz was processing the fact they called their currency snails as the crowd thickened and the woman in red could see it was thanks to Luz that she got a crowd this big. She had a smile on her face as she turned to the girl.

"Say, I didn't catch you name, kid."

"...It's Luz."

"Well, Luz. That was pretty clever for a human."

"...Thanks." Luz said, melancholy. "You're not human yourself, are you?"

"Nope." She said, taking off the scarf to reveal pointy eyes as she jumped onto the table and yelled out "I'm Eda, the Owl Lady! The Most Powerful Witch on the Boiling Isles!"

"A witch?"

"That's right. I am respected, feared."

"Busted." came a deeper male voice as giant hand smashes the TV as everyone moves away in fear.

"It's a guard! Run!"

"Eda, the Owl Lady..." The guard began to say, grabbing hold of Eda's wrist. "You are hereby under arrest for the misuse of magic and demonic misdemeanors!"

"Would you guys quit following me around?! Eda shouted. "I haven't done anything all day!"

"And you!" the guard said, pointing to Luz. "You're under arrest for fraternizing with a criminal!"

The guard was about to grab hold of her as well before Luz said "Hey, back off!" And she once more brought out the whip and slashed at the guard's mask, making him tumble and fall on his back in pain. Eda was getting more impressed by this kid by the minute.

"Nice one, now let's get out of here!" She said as she took her staff, spun it and taps the bottom of it on the table, making all her stuff float in midair. She then reaches into her hair and pulls out a key, pressing the eye to summon the portal door in its case form. She closes her hand into a fist, making the tablecloth wrap itself around all of her stuff. She sticks her staff through the bundle and starts running, grabbing Luz in the process.

"Hey!" she shouted to Eda.

"You wanna live, kid?" Eda asked Luz. "Stick with me and you'll be fine."

"Where are we even going?"

"You'll see." Eda then jumps onto her staff and pulls Luz aboard as the owl spreads its wing and takes flight, leaving the guard in the dust.

"You won't get away with this, Owl Lady!" He yells, before admitting defeat." Yeah, all right. You did. You got away with it. She got away with it, everybody! Typical."

To be continued...
