It felt strange, being back home for Luz as she stepped out of the decrepit shack where the portal had first originated. A cool breeze of wind blew over her as she stepped into the forest and made her way back to her neighborhood. There. her house stood where it always did and it made her feel nervous. That, and a lot of other mixed emotions went through her mind, as she wasn't entirely sure how she would confront her mother about all this. But after everything she's been through over the last few weeks, she may as well be ready for everything.

"Well...here goes nothing." She said as she knocked on her own door. A few seconds of waiting later, Camila came and answered the door, surprised to see her own daughter standing there.

"Luz?" She asked. "What are you going here?"

"Hey, Mom." Luz started off. "...We need to talk."

"But I thought you already left to be with your friends."

Saying that immediately made Luz perk her head up as one thing came to mind.

"...What?"

Camila explained "You had already gone out to meet some friends of yours."

Luz stepped forward and asked "Where exactly did I go?"

At the part, 'Luz' was hanging out with some High School Kids she had managed to make friends with. She was wearing an air force-blue hoodie with darker cuffs, a mustard-yellow shirt underneath with a white collar and a pair of black buttons at the neck, Prussian blue leggings, and white sneakers with silver-gray laces and soles and has a single yellow hair barrette on each temple. This Luz was entirely different from the original, not just in appearance. She talked, acted and even felt more normal around other people, and once they started to notice that not one strange thing happened around her, kids began to acknowledge her and see that she wasn't so bad to be around. That's when she started to make friends with a few high schoolers. While she was with them, she got a text message from her mother, telling her to head back now. But after she said her goodbyes, standing by the Park entrance was Luz number 1, who was not looking too happy to see her twin. Things looked to get worse when Luz pulled out the whip.

"You've stolen me...and I'm here to take myself back."

And at that moment, the second Luz rushed back inside the park. Luz 1 ran after her and watched her hide behind a tree. She did the same, as she then looked over her shoulder to her left side, Luz 2 doing the same on her right. Then, they met the second time they turn and Luz swung her whip in an attempt to strike her, but the second Luz dodged swiftly before running off and having the first Luz chase after her. She was going for another exit when Luz swung the whip in an attempt to wring her up. But Luz 2 front flipped in order to dodge, and then she pulled something out of her hoodie. Next thing Luz wasn't prepared for was for her doppelganger to bring out a whip of her own, giving her no time to dodge and forcing her to block. Being pushed back a few feet, Luz lifted her head to see the whip Luz 2 had. Brown leather, silver handle...

"The Hunter's Whip." Was the first thing that came to mind when Luz saw the weapon. "...Where did you get that?"

"...I'm not going back." Was all that her doppelganger said as she advanced against the original. The cracks of leather echoed throughout the park as two enchanted whips clashed. Luz admitted her double was just as skilled as she was, but her moves did not mirror hers as any ordinary mirroring creature would. But then, she brought out magic skills, turning the whip into various elemental weapons, from swords, to hammers, to tonfas, to claws. It was only when she attacked with a continuous whip move did Luz finally understand who she was really dealing with as the Hunter's Whip wrapped around her arms. Her double was looking furious.

"Only few people alive know those moves." The OG Luz said as she unwrapped the whip from arms and got in close to her twin. Their arms crossed and then, golden crosses glowed at their wrist, showing who they truly were to each other...

"...Disciple to the Baldwin Clan." Luz first said, to which Luz 2 replied "...Blood of the Belmont Clan?"

"Uh...Luz?"

The two turn around to see Luz 2's friends looking at them in awe, realizing they just saw the whole battle between them.

"Friends of yours...sis?" Luz 1 asked.

"...Yeah." Luz 2 answered before asking "So...you've just come back from traveling?"

Luz 1 answered "Temporally."

The two then found themselves walking home after they managed to smooth things over with each other. Luz listened to her twin, who she now got a name from, Vee, as she told her story. Learning that she was a clone to an ancient race of Basilisk that lived in the Demon Realm, Belos had put her through various experiments in magic absorbing, to which she detested heavily.

"I managed to escape and find my way to this realm through the Owl Lady's portal." She explained. "I saw you and thought you'd be the perfect form for me to take."

"I bet you managed to fool my mother easily." Luz joked.

"I thought I did, but she knew that I wasn't you somehow." Vee said.

Luz thought about it before saying "Well, my family are able to detect and know what kinds of creatures exist in the world. I guess Mom must've picked up that trick from my Father."

"Your father. He was a Belmont, right?"

"Yep." Luz answered. "I believe my family may have once entered the Demon Realm years ago."

"I've heard things like that before." Vee said.

But then another thing came back to Luz's mind "How did you come by that whip?"

Vee looked down at the Hunter's Whip and answered "I got it at the camp."

"You went to camp in my place?" Luz asked, surprised.

"Yeah. It helped me a lot at adjusting to your world. And as for the whip, a teacher from your school gave it to me."

"Which teacher?"

"Mr. Arikado." Vee answered, and the name surprised Luz even more. Mr. Arikado was the one teacher who didn't teach Luz like crap, and who she was willing to tolerate, yet he always seemed strange to her and sometimes doesn't look entirely...human. But, to think that's who Vee could've gotten the whip from...it was something she needed to look into later. In the meantime, the twins found themselves back home. Camila was glad to see that they were okay, but was a little angry with Luz as she didn't get the chance to finish. Luz realized that Camila must've warned Vee of her presence and tried to avoid a violent confrontation like they just had.

"I'm surprised you were willing to let Vee stay with you, Mom." Luz commented.

"Well, she was already like you in some ways." Camila replied. "She's one of a kind, and brave."

That warmed Vee's heart when she heard it. But Luz decided to get serious for a moment.

"Mom...I came back because I thought that you might know something about Father's side of the family. I need to know as much as I can and I know you have some answers that I'm looking for...I deserve them."

Both Camila and Vee looked at Luz with concern until the mother let out a sigh and decided to reveal something to her daughter. At first, it seemed like an ordinary book. But Luz then recognized it as another Travel Book, newer and recently used. Upon opening it, Camila gave it to her daughter and she saw the entry written inside, next to a drawn portrait of a Shrine Gate. She read the entry aloud, and as she did, the voice of her father can be heard.

"And so, I find myself at the shrine where legend says, at the brink of the eclipse, evil shall be reborn anew and once again plague the earth. The eclipse would not be for another 2 decades, but I fear that would not stop the Lord of Darkness from return in any way he or his minions could envision. Already, do I sense unearthly magic seeping into this world from passages made of magic I have no history about. But the power of the ancients, as Arikado has called it, was unlike anything I have ever felt. If he is correct, then we may already be too late to stop what is coming. But we must learn, we must be prepared, should this evil ever return, we must have I plan...I planned on visiting my beloved daughter this year, it's been a decade since I last saw her. But I must hold back, for her safety. Yet, Arikado believes that she may have already awakened her powers as well. Oh, my daughter, my beautiful light. I did not wish for it to be your destiny, but you should you ever fight against this darkness...know that my spirit, and the spirit of all our bloodline, shall always be with you."

Putting the book down, Luz was unaware of the tears streaming down her eyes. Camila and Vee were at the brink of crying as well, but Luz had taken the information very well.

"So...Dad is still around?"

Camila pulled herself together before answering "...T-That was the last message that he had wrote before they lost trace of him completely. Mr. Arikado said that he disappeared soon after at that shrine."

"Why is Arikado even involved?" Luz asked.

"Apparently, he's not really a teacher. He's an international agent working for an organization of some sort." Camila said, leaving her daughter confused as to how she knows this. "He comes by sometimes, to check up on us. Great man, great conversationalist. Not to mention a master cook, and the way he talks-"

"MOM!"

Camila stopped as she realized that she was weirding Luz out.

"Well...I think that's enough for today." Luz said, giving the Travel Book back to her mother.

Vee then asked "What are you gonna do now, sis?"

"I should head back."

"Back to where? The Demon Realm?" Camila asked, concerned for her daughter's safety. Luz asked "You know about that too huh? I thought I was gonna have to bring it up."

Camila replied "Like I said, Mr. Arikado likes to keep tabs on all of us." She then puts a hand on Luz's shoulder. Luz, I know you want to learn more about your father and his family. Believe me, I do too. But please, don't go back. Don't kill yourself over this."

"I won't." Luz said, shrugging off her mother's arm. "I'm a Belmont, Mom. If I end up in a bad situation, I'll know exactly what to do. It's in my blood."

It didn't sit well with Camila, sending her daughter to a foreign realm full of monsters and things unholy. But she saw the determination in Luz's eyes and realized how committed she was at this.

"Just promise me, that when you're done...you'll stay."

"...I promise, Mom." Luz said. "I'll never use the Whip again after I'm finished with this."

Camila let out a smile and hugged her daughter, to which Luz returned the favor.

"What about me?" Vee asked. Getting both their attention. "Will I still have a place here? ...W-W-Will I still be your daughter."

"Of course, Mija." Camila said, turning to her 'other daughter'. "You will always have a place here. I've already accepted you, and so has Luz."

Luz innocently waved at Vee.

"You're already part of the family." Camila continued, warming Vee's heart. Then they hugged, and Luz joined in. But then, Luz knew it was time for her to leave. Soon, they were outside their house as Luz said her farewells to her mother and sister.

"I will return, mom. I promise you that."

"Be safe, Luz. Be strong." Camila replied sadly. "You know...you've become more like you're father."

"Yeah...I know." Luz said quietly. "And Vee? Keep being you."

That got her confused "By 'you', do you mean you, or me?"

Luz chuckled, saying "You'll figure it out."

And without a word, Luz turned and headed back into the forest, turning back to see Camila and Vee waving goodbye...
