'Thinking'
*Sounds*
[Belt-san/Kamen Rider System]
"The children are quite cheerful and bright."
A man in a business suit comments.
He was in an orphanage, watching several children happily playing together from afar. Seeing two of his close friends marrying each other and starting a family of their own, the man decides to try doing the same in his own way.
While he was unable to find a compatible love interest and cultivate a romantic bond, this gentleman hopes that he can at least give a new family to one of these unfortunate orphans.
The orphanage's director, an old lady, semmed to be in agreement as she stood next to him, also watching the children under custody.
"You won't be disappointed, sir. I can assure you that each of these kids will become happy with you. Whoever you choose, they will be lucky to have you as a parent." She assures the businessman.
The gentleman hummed in thought at this, observing each of the facility's orphans with interest until he eventually frowns as his eyes land upon one particular child.
It was one lone boy, who unlike the rest of his peers, was playing with a toy car all by himself. He had an expression of sadness, isolated from the others.
'It is almost as if the other kids purposely choose to ignore and exclude him.' The man quickly deduces with a concerned expression. "What about that boy over there? Why is he alone?" He asks the orphanage's director, pointing at the said child.
At this, the woman adopts a nervous expression.
"I-I don't think you would like to adopt that boy, sir. There are better options than him." She says, trying to make him focus again on the other kids.
The way she phrased it made the man uncomfortable, making him narrow his eyes in suspicion.
"Why?" He asks, raising an eyebrow at her.
The orphanage director refuses to further elaborate, deciding to look away.
His curiosity only rises as he decides to approach the lone boy and try talking with him.
The other children noticed the man, considering him a potential parent that would adopt one of them.
They tried getting his attention, but the gentleman politely ignores them as he comes closer to the sad child, finally taking a good look at the boy's appearance.
Short black hair and silver-gray eyes...
But there was something else, a familiar feeling, to this child that makes the man remember about a dear friend of his.
Just what is it?
Meanwhile, everybody else frowns at the businessman taking interest in the loner.
"..." The lone kid stares back at the gentleman with an expression of shock and surprise as the older male crouches down to meet his level.
"Hey there. What's your name?" The man asks with a friendly tone.
Instead of talking back, the boy looks down, as if ashamed by something.
This only semmed to make the man even more concerned.
"I came here today to adopt someone." The man starts, trying to pick the boy's interest by making some small talk. "It could be you, my boy. Aren't you interested?"
This semmed to be at least enough to make the kid look back at him, only for a feeling of depression to take over the boy.
"Y-You wouldn't want me..." The child finally speaks, looking down once again.
This wasn't what he expected to hear.
"What do you mean, young one?" The man asks gently. "Is there something bothering you?"
"I… Nobody wants me nearby… T-The others… They keep saying that my parents abandoned me at the orphanage… All because… I... Because I am useless..." The boy manages to speak as tears fall from his eyes.
The man offers him a handkerchief to wipe the tears away.
"Why would anyone call you useless, my boy?" The man asks again as he briefly turns around to look at the other kids and the orphanage director.
All of them were whispering and muttering about something amongst themselves. Some would send looks of pity to the lone sad boy while others were looking back at this sole child with faces of disgust and repulse.
Their reactions made the man frown in confusion.
Just what is he missing here? Why is nobody wanting to associate with this poor child?
"Everybody calls me useless… Nobody wants me nearby..." The boy talks in anguish, sobbing lowly. "All because… Because I'm worthless… I… I'm Quirkless."
He finally reveals the truth as the man looks back at his revelation in surprise.
'This boy… He is Quirkless?'
They live in a super-human society, where 80% of the world's population currently possesses some uncanny ability called Quirk.
What's a Quirk, you ask?
It all began when the world changed many years ago...
When in China was born a child, they had the ability to emanate the light from its body. After that, many people started to awaken their 'powers'. As a result, the world was in chaos from this development.
These powers were named Quirks.
Society fell into chaos amongst the rise of these new abilities, which changed the concept of what it meant to even be human.
Many people started to use their powers for their own cause. Fortunately, there were people who wanted to counter these new criminals.
As such, these are how Heroes and Villains came to the known world.
We call those who use their quirks for the sake of 'peace and order' of Heroes.
Villains are people who use their Quirks to commit crimes, cause destruction, and potentially put innocent lives at stake.
There are many different types of Heroes and Villains in the world…
Right now, society lives in the Age of Peace. Where Heroes' work becomes a prestigious job. Many dreams of being a hero. For that, there are many special schools to teach it.
Unfortunately, not everyone can be born equal...
As for the remaining 20% of the global population...
Quirkless: a term that is used to refer to someone who was born without any superpowers whatsoever.
Quirkless people are the people who possess absolutely no Quirk, particularly unique features, or anything that would put them under the classification of being superhuman.
Society reacts differently to Quirkless people...
In some instances, one is the subject of mockery and prejudice. Whereas with others, although they might have a good relationship with people with Quirks, the Quirkless can be seen with pity simply for being Quirkless.
Commonly, anyone who does not possess a Quirk is considered to be weak and worthless, or that their circumstances are incredibly unfortunate and rare...
The world was hardly fair...
That was a truth the lone boy accepted a long time ago.
He never asked to be born in a world where heroes and superpowers were the norms, yet for whatever reason, he was born without one.
It no doubts caused a lot of problems growing up: Ostracized by other kids for being the 'odd one', pitied by adults and teachers, and bullied by people who'd abuse their Quirks the second no one was looking, he had it rough.
And there was it...
He finally said it.
But it didn't feel as bad as the other times. The boy was partly glad to have someone to speak as he felt a heavy burden leaving his shoulders.
Now all he expects is for this seemingly nice man, who even bothered to talk with him when most of the others considered it a waste of time, to either look back at him with a look of disgust or pity before deciding to check the other orphanage's kids for adoption.
It has always been like that whenever he told about his 'disability.'
However, that wasn't what actually happened.
The gentleman was still looking at the boy with an expression of concern.
"Is that it? Is that why everyone else thinks you're a lost cause?" The businessman softly asks the child.
This really wasn't the response the boy was expecting to hear.
But nonetheless…
"And what do you know?" The boy spat bitterly, his voice full of venom as the sadness and frustration that has been bottled up inside of him for some time finally comes out.
"Actually, I'm just like you. I'm also Quirkless."
"..."
What?
"..."
What!?
Gasping, the boy looks at the man in shock and disbelief.
"I may not have any flashy superpower, but I'm far from being someone worthless." The gentleman explains kindly. "I worked and studied hard to get where I am today. The same can happen to you as well, my boy."
Those words…
He never heard someone telling him those things before.
Much less coming from a fellow Quirkless, the first person he got to know that shared the same condition as him.
But that said…
"But… How can I be like you? What if… What if you're wrong? What if I really am a failure?" The boy asks, still feeling a bit unsure about his value as a person.
The gentleman sighs at this.
"A failure is a failure, you say?" He starts to talk as the boy looks at him with wide eyes, feeling disheartened upon hearing this. "So, you know who you are. You understand you're more hopeless than anyone else. And that is good."
"Good? How can this be something good?" The boy asks, feeling distraught by what he heard.
Was this man also going to look down on him like the others?
But the businessman proceeds to clarify his point:
"It's because that's how you will one day get stronger. Stronger than anybody else. Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, may lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of that strength. And he can thus learn and spread compassion as well. It's precisely because you're weak that you can eventually turn your weakness into your greatest strength."
"Me… Getting stronger?" The lone young ravenette questions.
But isn't he someone Quirkless? How does that make any sense?
"The strongest individuals I've ever known have all known themselves… About what they can't do. About what was impossible for them. It's like looking up at the top of a mountain that they could never conquer. But young man… A small handful of them is able to make it to the top." The man starts talking passionately.
The way the man was speaking…
This speech actually earns a hopeful smile from the boy, who couldn't remember when was the last time he ever smiled like that.
The gentleman resumes speaking, now acting fondly as if he was reminiscing something precious:
"They were Quirkless like you and me. It's because they knew what it was that they couldn't do, that they decided to add, one by one, the things they that they could do, building them up until they finally reached the top that had once been so high and far from their grasp."
The man then adopts a firm stance, clenching his fists with a resolved expression as the black-haired child becomes further inspired by his words.
"Those are the real heroes for me, they are also people that would be later known as Kamen Riders!"
"Real heroes…? The Kamen Riders…?" The boy repeats. He really liked the sound of it.
For some reason, the child couldn't help but form an even larger smile across his face, moved by the man's words.
This child would later learn about the existence of Kamen Riders.
Urban Legends in Japan.
They are Masked Heroes in the shadows, who protect the world from many disasters, which Pro Heroes can't defeat.
For some people, they are criminals because of their Vigilante Activities and Unauthorized Quirk Usage. Others see them as True Defenders of Justice for their heroic actions and selflessness.
However, there are important things to notice:
(Almost) All Kamen Riders are Quirkless Humans.
All of their powers consist of high technology, science, ancient magic, space energy, or mystical civilization.
That revelation would inspire the boy so high that his dream now becomes one of turning into a Kamen Rider.
"How about it, young one?" The gentleman asks as he offers a hand to the Quirkless kid. "Would you like to come with me? Do you want to try reaching for it with me? To the very top!"
This time the boy did not hesitate as a new feeling of strong passion suddenly takes over his heart, the two Quirkless individuals finally semmed to have come to an unspoken understanding.
"Okay! I'll give it a try! I'll aim for the top with you!" The child spoke passionately.
The man grinned at the now cheerful boy's response.
It was decided!
This is the one who he has been searching for!
Meanwhile, everyone else was looking at their interaction, not having heard their talk, with looks of shock and surprise upon seeing the happy expression the Quirkless boy now possessed.
Some of the other orphans with 'flashy' Quirks actually became jealous at the prospect of the 'worthless kid' being adopted instead of one of them.
The businessman then asks the raven-haired kid:
"And what is your name, my boy?"
"Tomari. Tomari Yuuki." The boy replies with a smile, his silver-gray eyes now looking strong.
The man's eyes actually widen upon hearing the familiar surname.
The same family name a precious friend and former partner of his has…
'Tomari… It can't be…! But looking closer at this boy… Something about him does remind me of him… Of Shinnosuke… Perhaps this meeting of ours was not a coincidence at all...' The man ponders before giving a similar smile to the child before him.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Yuuki." he says, gently ruffling the boy's head. "Hmm… Yuuki: A name that can be translated to courage, bravery, or boldness. I think this will indeed suit you. I promise to give you a new place to belong and a family that will bring you joy. And as for my name, I am Krim. Krim Steinbelt."

A Kamen Rider Drive x My Hero Academia crossover project:
My Hero Academia Illegals: Vigilante Dark Drive
Drive 01: Start our mission!
Several years later...
Present Time
City of Musutafu - Police Headquarters
Unlike most people, Tomari Yuuki decides to take the path of becoming a police officer, which he finds a more honorable profession than the rest of the jobs that today's society offers.
Now 25 Years Old, he has become an elite detective within the Police Force, making a name for himself, despite being Quirkless, thanks to the deduction skills he acquired and sharpened during the past years and for numerous cases he solved.
After being adopted by Krim Steinbelt and learning some things under his new guardian, the ravenette now believes that one does not need to have a Quirk or be a Pro Hero in order to make the world a better place.
All while ensuring order and justice on his own as a cop.
Wearing a white shirt, a dark blue suit, a red tie, dark blue pants, a brown belt and black shoes, Yuuki was currently heading to a conference room within Musufatu Police Headquarters as he would be assigned a new case to deal with.
Within the Conference Room…
"Alright. Is everyone here? Good. Then let's begin." The superior, a senior investigator, begins the meeting as everyone else took their respective seats across the room.
The senior officer goes to a board on the wall as he shows news from a previous case, the U.S.J Incident.
The U.S.J. Incident was a villain attack on U.A. High's Class 1-A at the U.S.J., orchestrated by the League of Villains in an attempt to kill All Might.
All Might is the current No. 1 Pro Hero of Japan, who bears the title of the world's Symbol of Peace. Currently, the man teaches Foundational Hero Studies at U.A. High School.
He is a very large man with an equally muscular and well-defined physique, his design resembling a typical western comic book superhero.
All Might has chiseled features on his face with a strong jawline and pronounced cheekbones, and bushy eyebrows.
He has short blond hair, swept backward, with two distinct tufts that stick up above his head, leaning slightly to each side. His strong features regularly cast a dark shadow over his face, hiding everything but his bright blue eyes.
U.A. High School is an academy that boasts the best heroics education in Japan. It sits atop a forested hill that overlooks Musutafu.
"As you all must have heard by now, U.A. High suffered a major villain attack the previous day." The senior officer starts before gesturing to one of the other detectives present in the room. "Detective Tsukauchi here got information from the school's staff that the ones responsible for the incident, a group that goes by the name of League of Villans, was planning to kill All Might at the school's U.S.J. facility that day."
Naomasa Tsukauchi, 36 Years Old, is a tall man with short, black hair and somewhat rectangular black eyes. As a member of the police force, he is normally seen in his uniform, which consists of his signature tan overcoat and matching hat, underneath which he wears a black suit, a green tie at his neck with matching slacks, and dress shoes.
The Unforeseen Simulation Joint, often abbreviated as U.S.J., is a training facility located in U.A. High School. Its purpose is to train Hero students for disaster rescue.
The League of Villains is a villain organization made up of powerful villains that threaten to destroy the hero society. Not much else is currently known about them.
The revelation brought startled gasps amongst most of the present detectives as they start to talk amongst themselves before the senior officer gets their attention back once again on him.
"While I'm sure nobody can defeat All Might right now, we must remain vigilant. This incident may prove to be a sign that villains and other troublemakers will become bolder, potentially causing some public unrest, disorder and chaos. While we have the Pro Heroes to take care of these individuals, our job as the Police is still equally important to also maintain things under control here in Musutafu."
The veteran cop speaks while most of the officers don't take his words into consideration, still believing in the No. 1 Pro Hero's superior strength and how they don't have to worry much about criminal activity.
As of now, Heroes are individuals who are licensed to use their Quirks to protect civilians from Villains, natural disasters, and/or any other kind of harm.
Those who take heroism as a profession are referred to as Pro Heroes.
The Police Force is now a law-enforcing group responsible for arresting and apprehending Villains defeated by the Pro Heroes.
During the initial appearance of Quirks, the Police Force did not enlist any officers with Quirks because they feared the superpowers may be used as weapons.
Pro Heroes arose to fill the role of Quirk-wielding crime fighters.
Police Officers now serve simply to arrest criminals that have been subdued by Pro Heroes while providing general support and enforcing low-level crimes.
From the corner of his eyes, Yuuki vaguely notices Tsukauchi barely flinching upon the mention of All Might not being capable of being defeated any time soon by a Villain.
'Wonder why this got Tsukauchi-san's attention? Is he really that worried about All Might? Or is there more to it?' The raven-haired officer with silver-gray eyes thinks before focusing back on the senior detective's talk.
"Anyway, each of you will be assigned certain cases we got to investigate. That is why you have all been called today. The files for your respective cases are the ones resting on your desks. There have been reports of mysterious people with some sort of monster transformation Quirk causing confusion around. Now then, you're all dismissed." The senior officer announces as everyone proceeds to leave the conference room, one by one.
Yuuki prepares to eventually leave as well before he is stopped by Tsukauchi and a middle-aged detective.
"Tsukauchi-san? Tanuma-san?" The ravenette addresses the two older men in question, raising an eyebrow at them.
Tanuma Eizo is an older man with short, dark hair and is starting to get bald because he has a receding hairline. He also has a thin beard.
He wears a dark-colored suit, a black waistcoat and a plain tie.
In contrast to his partner Tsukauchi Naomasa, Tanuma has a more affable, calm and relaxed behavior. However, this does not mean that he does not take his job as a detective seriously or that his deductive abilities are depleted, as his conjectures are usually quite accurate.
"There's something you have to do before you start your case, Tomari." Tsukauchi starts.
"What is it?" The younger cop questions.
"You're getting a partner today, kid!" Tanuma says with a sly grin.
Wait, what?
"What?" The silver-eyed man asks before frowning. "A partner? Why?"
"We believe you're the most suitable to help the rookie learn the ropes here." Tsukauchi tries to affirm, sounding logical by bringing the younger cop's record.
"I'm better working solo. And you know why." Yuuki replies, scowling.
It's not like he was trying to purposely sound rude or disrespectful.
He did have partners in the past, but it did not work well at all...
Whenever his condition as a Quirkless was brought up, some of his colleagues within the Police Force didn't fully respect him nor did they took him seriously.
Even when they aren't technically allowed to utilize Quirks, normal people still tend to find subtle 'excuses' to discriminate against Quirkless. Especially when said Quirkless tends to be doing a better job as an investigator than most of them.
"It won't be like that this time, Tomari." Tsukauchi tries to assure the younger officer.
But the other black-haired man with silver-gray eyes wasn't entirely convinced by that.
'Not the first time you said that.' Yuuki briefly thinks, dryly.
"Look, kid. This is also for your sake. You need to learn how to become an actual team player. We're not doubting your abilities here. But you could at least try to offer some aid to the newbies." Tanuma adds, now sounding exasperated.
How many times have they already had this talk?
Yuuki looks between the two older men with a critical look, contemplating on what to ask next.
Thankfully, there were still people within the Police Force that didn't mind him being Quirkless. Tsukauchi and Tanuma were amongst these.
But the younger cop wouldn't exactly call the two of them his friends, but only reliable colleagues he respected and had no trouble working with.
Speaking of which, Yuuki wonders what his newest partner will be like this time.
"So… Where's the rookie anyway?" He asks the other two.
"I'm right here."
A female voice announces as the trio turns to the door.
They watch as a 24 Years Old woman joins them. She was wearing a special female police uniform, unlike the rest of the detectives that usually tend to wear suits. (A/N: Imagine that she is wearing the same Special Crime Unit's uniform that Shijima Kiriko from Kamen Rider Drives wears.) She was a good-looking woman with long black hair tied into a bun, possessing sky-blue eyes.
"And you are?" Yuuki asks, sharply looking at the newcomer and carefully analyzing her.
"I'm Shijima Yuriko. I'm your new assigned partner starting from today." She introduces herself politely, extending a hand to the silver-eyed ravenette. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Tomari-san."
"..." The man accepts it as they shake hands, but he doesn't say anything.
He's actually surprised his partner is a woman, who didn't seem to be looking at him with slight contempt.
"Likewise, Shijima." Yuuki finally says as the two stop shaking their hands. "But I will reserve my full opinion about you until I get to see how you actually work on the cases."
"I can show you that I'm very capable as a detective, Tomari-san." Yuriko replies firmly in response.
"We shall see. Won't we?"
Tanuma clasps his hands, quickly trying to defuse the potential tense mood between them.
"Good. I can see you two will get along just fine. Anyway, the two of you should head out now. After all, we still have a job to do." The middle-aged man reminds them.
Yuuki and Yuriko head to the Police Station's parking garage, where the older detective's car is. The two will head out to the crime scene with his vehicle, a red Mercedes-AMG GT with white linings across it.
On the way to their destination, Yuriko tries to make some small talk and try to get to know her senpai better.
"I just want to point out that you're not the only one that had it rough, senpai." She says from the passenger's seat as she leans on the car's door and watches the world through its window.
"But they really pushed you through quick, didn't they? I got some years on patrol before I got my desk. While you were barely there for five minutes." Yuuki notes as he keeps driving, hands on the steering wheel and eyes on the road.
"What do you want me to say? I didn't ask for any favors."
"Whatever. Not that I care about that. But with that said, why don't you tell me a little about yourself then, Shijima?" The veteran asks.
"Are we friends now, Tomari-san?" The rookie asks back, sarcastically.
"We have to work together, don't we? Don't be so touchy."
'You're one to say that.' Yuriko mentally remarks.
The two of them begin to exchange whatever little personal facts they could between them while trying to not getting into each other's nerves.
Until…
"Wait… You're Quirkless?" Yuuki asks his partner as his expression suddenly changes to one of surprise.
"Yeah. The same as you, mind you. Really, we both know how bad prejudice against Quirkless can still become nowadays." Yuriko says with a now pointy look as the veteran detective now contemplates his new partnership with a different view.
He is now working with someone that shares his situation.
Maybe it won't be so bad after all to have a partner this time…
Especially when she could relate to some of the hardships he went through.
What neither of them would expect is for their first case together to become the prelude for a sinister plot…
? - Within an unknown dark room...
Several Mechanical Monsters with motifs related to cobras, spiders and bats were gathered around the room, surrounded by computers and other complex electronic devices.
They are the (Plain Type) Roidmudes, enemies of mankind that were once defeated by the warrior known as Kamen Rider Drive.
The Roidmudes, also called Mechanical Life Forms by the public, are the enemies of Kamen Rider Drive. They were a race of 108 artificial life forms created by Dr. Tenjuro Banno as unique androids that were capable of 'evolving' to become more like humans.
However, when their development had hit a wall, Banno asked his friend Krim Steinbelt for help.
Steinbelt gave them the prototype versions of his Core Driviar technology to continue their evolution, until Banno's dark secret on using a lethal experiment for his creation was found out by Krim, causing the two inventors' partnership to break apart.
This would lead Banno to plan to steal one of Krim's equipment, such as the mind transfer device without Krim knowing, in order to further his sinister plan and to finalize his creations.
Unfortunately because of Banno's cause on awakened Roidmudes as a finalized sentient, it caused them to start their plot to destroy the world, evolving by synchronizing with human emotions and stealing the best physical attributes of human beings.
But eventually, Kamen Rider Drive and his allies did manage to defeat all 108 Roidmudes and triumph over them, protecting mankind's future.
The Roidmudes are given numbers to distinguish themselves from each other (and are pronounced individually; i.e., 029 is Zero-Two-Nine), which literally ties into their life, functioning like souls.
If these numbers/souls, called Cores, are destroyed, the Roidmude is dead permanently, but so long as the Core is still around, a Roidmude can respawn after some rest and are given a Viral Core for a new body.
The Viral Cores, powered by Core Driviars, are miniature car-like devices created and used by the Roidmudes for the purpose of sustaining, empowering, and evolving their existence. They are the Roidmude counterparts of the Shift Cars, the equipment used by Kamen Rider Drive to face them.
Cobra Viral Core: A Viral Core that can give a new body for the Cobra Type Roidmudes' core upon completing their evolution. It looks like a black minicar with the details of a blue cobra on it.
Spider Viral Core: A Viral Core that can give a new body for the Spider Type Roidmudes' core upon completing their evolution. It looks like a black minicar with the details of a red spider on it.
Bat Viral Core: A Viral Core that can give a new body for the Bat Type Roidmudes' core upon completing their evolution. It looks like a black minicar with the details of a gray bat on it.
There are three types of Plain Roidmudes: Cobra Types, Spider Types, and Bat Types.
The Plain Roidmudes, is the initial form of the Roidmude monsters before evolving onto their advanced forms.
They are referred to by the numbers on their chest, which represent their Cores. They can also forsake their humanoid forms and transform into a larger shape more befitting their animal motifs, called a Roidmude Berserk Body, via the absorption of three Viral Cores or two if they have already evolved into their Evolution State form.
Most Roidmudes have a silver-colored collar, except for those Roidmudes who gained Evolution State, Advanced Roidmudes' subordinate Plain Roidmudes, and the first nine Roidmude.
Single Number refers to the first nine Roidmudes to be created, with single digits (those being from 001 to 009) were notable for having gold-colored collars on their necks, with the addition of smaller frills around their collars.
"Our comrades dwelling within the electronic ephemera, do you hear me?" The apparent leader of the monsters, a Plain Spider Type Roidmude, announces.
He has the 002 number designation on his chest plate.
"We were reborn in a new world, one filled with superpowers known as Quirks. It is unlike the previous world we originated from. But the humans here don't know yet about our existence. And there are no Kamen Riders either to stop us. This is the opportunity for our renewal. We couldn't ask for anything better. Soon, these self-conceited humans will learn how outclassed they truly are even in this new dimension. Where our original 108 antecessors failed in conquering Earth, we will succeed. Let us refer to this day with a word fitting for our uprising… This is our revolution!"
Back with Yuuki and Yuriko…
At Musutafu's Public Park
The pair of detectives arrived at the crime scene of their current case.
Stepping out of the Mercedes, the duo is greeted with a horrifying sight:
The Musufatu Park is shown being filled with signs of destruction and trashing.
There were already several officers and forensic team members checking the area.
"Just what happened here?" Yuriko asks, looking around.
The detectives pass through the police tapes covering the perimeter as one of the local officers notices them, approaching Yuuki and Yuriko with a salute.
"Detective Tomari, sir." The officer greets. "Thank you for coming so fast."
"How bad is the situation?" Yuuki inquiries. "How many victims we had here?"
"While nobody died, several civilians were injured. Even a Pro Hero who happened to be patrolling the area did not get away unscathed."
Yuriko perked at this detail.
"What sort of incident could have caused such problem around the park? Are we dealing with an A-Rank criminal?" She asks the officer.
The man looks confused at her, raising an eyebrow at the woman.
"And you are...?" He asks.
"She's my new partner, starting from today. She has just been assigned to work with me." Yuuki clarifies.
"Shijima Yuriko." The rookie detective introduces herself.
"Ah, I see. Pardon me, detective Shijima." The officer replies, quickly regaining his composure.
"Anyway, it is better if you ask the Hero who happened to be present." He proceeds to clarify before pointing at the said individual, who was finished being treated by a paramedic.
"Air Jet?" Yuriko recognizes the Pro Hero in question, taking out a notepad she carries around with her.
Pro Hero
Buster Hero: Air Jet
Air Jet's hero costume consists of a plain crimson bodysuit, plates of white armor attached to his elbows, knees and lower arms. He wears matching knee-high boots and a cannon on his left arm, as well as his signature Air Jet on his back.
Jet Pack: Air Jet's backpack contains two jets capable of sustained flight.
He possesses a Quirk that allows him to shoot blasts of air.
"You have all that info on the Heroes?" Yuuki asks Yuriko, raising an eyebrow at the woman as he takes a look at her notes.
They were well organized and very descriptive.
"Not just the Pro Heroes, but Villains and civilians as well. I have a tendency to write about whatever interesting Quirk I stumble with." She explains in response.
"Hmm. I see. Well, that might come in handy during investigations someday." Yuuki compliments her, surprising the woman.
She notes how his attitude towards her changed a little once he learned that she was a fellow Quirkless.
The pair of detectives then approach Air Jet once the paramedic finished treating him to learn what they could from him, showing their police badges to the Pro Hero before starting their questions.
"Detective Tomari from Musutafu Police Department." Yuuki introduces himself before gesturing to his partner. "And this is my partner, Shijima Yuriko."
"Can you tell us what exactly happened here, Air Jet?" Yuriko asks as she and her senpai notice how the Pro Hero before them was sporting several bruises around his body.
And his costume was not looking much better either.
"I… I don't know exactly what happened..." Air Jet starts, recalling what he could. "I was just patrolling the park when everything suddenly became slower."
"Slower?" Yuriko repeats, looking intrigued, as she took some notes of his testimony.
What sort of Quirk was that?
"Yeah. Not only the people, but everything across the park was moving slower." The Hero continues as he points to the park's fountain. "For example, the water from the fountain was also taking more time to flow."
"..." Yuuki narrows his eyes at this. 'The way he describes it… It almost sounds like...' The male detective trails off.
"Air Jet, what happened next?"
"That's when he appeared… It was unlike any Villain I have faced before… He was probably the one that caused this time freeze since he could move normally unlike, everybody else present." Air Jet explains.
"A Villan with a Quirk that makes things move slower while only he can move? That doesn't seem to ring any bells." Yuriko ponders, fiddling with a pen she uses to write her notes. "What does he looks like?" She questions the Hero.
Air Jet sports a grim expression as he proceeds to answer:
"I don't even know if that guy was a human at all. Something about him felt off. He looks like some sort of metallic humanoid cobra monster with a white skull. He had finger guns that he could use to fire energy bullets from it and super strength. Once he showed up at the park, he began to indiscriminately attack everyone while we were unable to move during this [Slowdown] effect. I couldn't do anything at all once he targeted me."
"Air Jet..." Yuriko sent the man looks of pity.
Meanwhile, Yuuki, on the other hand, became more concerned with what he heard from the Pro Hero as his suspicions semmed to have been confirmed.
'A Slowdown… It must have been Heavy Acceleration. And the culprit was definitely a Plain Cobra Type Roidmude from the description. Could it be that Krim's prediction is near!? So they finally decided to make their move!?' The silver-eyed ravenette thinks.
"..." Yuriko notices how her partner was silent and was about to ask him for an opinion when suddenly…
*Flash!* *Blink!*
A red particles effect washes over everyone in the area.
Everything around them, people and objects alike, began to move slower.
"Ah!" Yuriko lets out a surprised yelp.
'It's happening again!' Air Jet recalls the horrifying ordeal in terror.
'Slowdown!' Yuuki thinks in anger.
Heavy Acceleration, often referred to by the public as Slowdown, is a special ability of Roidmudes which creates a temporal field that distorts time and reduces G-force for everything within it.
Initiated by the use of their Core Driviars, it is represented as an energy field radiating from the Roidmudes, affecting everyone within the set area.
Humans affected by Heaviness still have awareness of the situation as the only part of the human body that is resistant to the distortions is their brains, thanks to the fact that Roidmude bodies are made up of a similar material to the cerebral cortex.
As such, people can experience the odd sensation of passing out slowly.
While the phenomenon is usually adverse to humans, it sometimes has a positive effect, as the distortion is slow enough to prevent a man from falling to his death from a great height.
From the corner of his eyes, Yuuki spots a figure approaching them.
It is a good-looking man in his early to mid-twenties. He has dyed-brown long hair with a black hairband and grey eyes.
He was wearing a black tank top, a dark hooded vest, camouflage shorts and brown boots.
Unlike the three of them and everyone else still around the park, this person could freely move during the Slowdown.
Yuriko was looking for what caused the Slowdown until she spotted the person who could freely move through the phenomenon.
'He's walking through the Slowdown normally as if it were still normal speed, so… He is the one causing it!?' The rookie detective glared at him as her fists were slowly tightening.
And that meant…
'A Roidmude!' Yuuki realizes.
The man sports a malicious smirk on his face before his body is covered with cyan-colored energy, changing his appearance.
Instead of a man, he was replaced by a mechanical monster who was mainly black, the fingertips were a silver metal with holes that would appear to look or act like a gun's barrel, where it would shoot bullets from.
And the head was a white skull, with some features of a cobra to it with the mouth in front, and the neck ribs extending to the sides of its head.
The number '034' is on its chest plate and the collar around his neck was cyan-colored.
This was the Plain Cobra Type Roidmude 034.
The mechanical creature calmly approaches the injured Air Jet before punching the Pro Hero in the face.
"Argh!" The Hero grunts in pain as the Roidmude lifts him by the neck.
"So pathetic. Is this really one of the so-called Heroes of this society?" Roidmude 034 taunts, tightening his hold over Air Jet's neck.
'If only I could move!' Yuriko curses, trying to reach for her holstered police revolver.
But that wouldn't end being necessary...
When everything semmed hopeless and Air Jet was about to be choked to death…
[Shift Cars, assemble!]
A male voice calls.
When he said that, the sound of three miniature car horns honked in response.
*Beep!* *Beep!* *Beep!*
Huh!?
The monster grew curious about what caused the sound, turning to the side to see a small road of some sort building itself as on it were three small toy cars.
One orange with the style of fire, another is purple with a ninja star symbol on it as the third one was green-colored with small spikes.
They all ran into the monster, forcing him to release Air Jet from his grip as the Pro Hero dropped to the ground.
The orange fiery car then made a road between Yuuki and the monster, covering its track with fire before launching itself into the monster to create a small blast.
*Boom!*
The blast somehow had enough force in it to knock the monster back, the green car waiting on the side as its spikes grew larger and sharper, the monster landing on them as it jumped in pain.
*Stab!*
"Argh!" The machine monster sounded angry, obvious by the groans and grunts as it raised its hands forward, the small cars racing along the ground towards it as it began shooting purple energy projectiles from its fingertips.
Each shot missed the cars, either from inaccuracy or their small shapes that could easily dodge the attacks.
The orange one set itself ablaze once more before creating another road, doing a loop it set on fire that the other two used.
The purple one shot out purple stars, the projectiles catching fire as they hit the monster and hurt it more.
The green one grew its spikes out again, flipping in the air as it too caught fire and launched itself into the monster, knocking it back.
The monster got up to its feet, various sounds of anger coming from it as the three cars came for it again. It pointed its hand between it and them, firing off a projectile that created a smokescreen.
*Bang!* *Bang!* *Bang!*
Once the smoke disappeared, the monster was gone.
And once the Roidmude was gone, the Heavy Acceleration ended as everyone was able to move normally again.
"..." Yuriko looked at the three cars, watching them honk once before driving away.
"Just what in the world happened!? That man from before… So he was the monster that attacked the park!?" Air Jet muttered, eyes wide open in shock.
That man, or monster, apparently had many Quirks with him.
But how is this even possible?
"So that was the monster that you and the civilians earlier in the park, Air Jet?" Yuriko asks the Hero for confirmation that she heard it right.
The man nods to the rookie detective.
"Yeah, that was him. He even had the same number 034 on the chest plate now that I remember about it. But I honestly have no idea how to defeat someone like him. He semmed to have multiple Quirks: Making time move slower, super strength and now even shapeshifting. How am I supposed to arrest someone like that?" The costume-wearing man wonders, now feeling a bit ashamed of how powerless he was agaisnt the Mechanical Life Form.
Unbeknownst to the Pro Hero, the shapeshifting ability was a standard gimmick all Roidmudes possessed.
Advanced Camouflage: Roidmudes can generate disguises through film layers around their body that function similar to the cerebral cortex, making them look like regular humans.
"If it weren't for those strange minicars suddenly showing up, I fear the worst might have happened." Air Jet resumes saying.
Yuriko semmed to be in agreement with him.
It was terrifying, they almost died at the hands of the Cobra Roidmude.
Strangely, she comes to realize how her senpai has been oddly silent about this.
"Tomari-san, I..." She turns to the other detective...
Only to stop talking as he is nowhere to be seen.
"Huh? Where did detective Tomari go?" Air Jet wonders as he also can't seem to find the more experienced cop anywhere.
Meanwhile…
Roidmude 034 could be seen running away on the other side of the park, which was now currently a deserted spot.
"Damn it! This wasn't supposed to happen! But I can't be wrong about what I saw! Those were the Shift Cars that the Kamen Riders used to fight the first original Roidmudes!" The evil android curses, thinking about the trio of minicars that protected the humans he was about to kill.
The Shift Cars, powered by Core Driviars, are miniature cars created for the purpose of helping humanity.
They are able to attack Roidmudes by traveling on special tracks that they spawn, and are strong enough to incapacitate Plain Type Roidmudes.
As long as someone has a Shift Car on their person, they are able to ignore the time distortions a Roidmude emits when active unless multiple time distortion effects occur. In this case, one must have multiple Shift Cars on their person.
Their most unique attribute though is their capacity for sentience and sapience. Though they cannot speak, Shift Cars can feel emotions such as mischievousness, frustration, happiness and even more complicated feelings such as regret and loss, and can show these emotions through their beeping or through car signs they spawn alongside their tracks.
They can be summoned by calling out their names, and other times they simply come of their own volition.
This wasn't supposed to happen at all! Aren't they in a new world!? Nobody was supposed to stand a chance against them.
Not even those stupid Pro Heroes!
But could it be that there really was someone else here in this new world that could face them!?
*Bang!* *Bang!*
"Argh!" Suddenly, energy bullets strike Roidmude 034 from behind, damaging him.
Confused, he turns around to be greeted with the sight of Yuuki aiming a car door-shaped gun at him, the Door-Ju.
The Opening and Closing Loading 'Door-Ju' is a firearm weapon wielded by Kamen Rider Drive, resembling his Tridoron's passenger-side door.
The Door-Ju can fire several shots before needing to be reloaded, which is easily accomplished by opening and closing the SO-Door Panel Shield via the Handler Gear. The door can also emit a car-door-like energy shield via the SO-Door Glass Shield.
If the door is open while being fired, the Door-Ju will give an error announcement of [Open Door] and misfire. Once reloaded, it will say [Charge].
If the door is opened and closed multiple times while there is still ammo, the bullets will become much stronger.
The detective's Mercedes was behind him. However, instead of being a red-colored car with white linings, the vehicle became black with blue/cyan details across it. The car now also posses a circular 'R' logo on its front part.
"Not so fast, Roidmude." Yuuki calls the cybernetic monster, his silver-gray eyes looking stern and furious. "You won't be getting anybody else today."
Now angry at this human's audacity of challenging him, the Cobra Roidmude decides to retaliate by first causing a Heavy Acceleration on the area before charging at the police officer.
*Flash!* *Blink!*
But much to 034's horror, Yuuki is unaffected by the Slowdown effect as he fires again at the evil android with the Door-Ju.
*Bang!* *Bang!*
"Argh!" Sparks come off from the monster's chest as he drops on the ground with a thud. "You bastard...! How can you still move!?" 034 demands.
It is then that the mechanical being finally takes notice of the Shift Car Holder on the right side of Yuuki's waist.
The Shift Car Holder is a strap that somewhat resembles a seatbelt buckle that is used to store up to three Shift Cars. It is mainly located on the right section of the Drive Driver's belt strap, as well as Yuuki's belt, on the right side.
As long as at least one Shift Car is stored in a slot, the wearer is able to withstand Heavy Accelerations.
However, if a Shift Car Holder is cut off, the wearer would be affected by the Slowdown.
The special item in Yuuki's possession was currently carrying the same three colored minicars that attacked 034 earlier.
The Cobra Roidmude gasps as realization finally hits him.
The defiant human standing before him, could it be that he is…
"No… That's impossible! You weren't supposed to exist here, Kamen Rider!" 034 cries in denial as he stands up, now furious.
"..." Yuuki narrows his eyes at the cybernetic creature before tossing his Door-Ju to the side.
"Since the Pro Heroes cannot face you, it's up to me to put an end to you." The ravenette declares to his enemy.
*Bang!* *Bang!*
But two more Plain Roimudes suddenly appeared and tried shooting the cop with energy bullets firing out of their fingertips.
Yuuki glared at the other two Roimudes and could see that one had the features of a bat and the other with the features of a spider, and on their chests are the numbers 083 and 054. The first had a yellow-colored collar while the second one's collar was green-colored.
[NEXTridon, shoot!]
A voice commanded as the black Mercedes automatically started to move and fire blue lasers from its headlights at the three Roimudes, forcing them to back away and stay away from Yuuki.
[Yuuki!]
The car then stops behind the cop as its driver's door opens. From it, a 'sentient belt' steps out and automatically wraps itself around the ravenette's waist.
The 'belt' is a large silver device that looks like a car's speedometer and dashboard, which had yellow headlights and speed meters with two behind a larger one, that was black with a red "S" on it. Also, it had a red button on the side that said "Press" and finally it has this red ignition key that seems to be twistable. And wrapped around the detective's waist is the device's 'red belt', which looks like a seat belt.
[You need to transform, Yuuki. The time has come for you to use the Drive System!] The sentient belt, Belt-san, told Yuuki as a red face appeared on its black circular display.
"Belt-san?" The detective looks at the device around his waist.
[You hate being a passenger and would rather do things yourself, correct?]
Yuuki spotted a black futuristic minicar with cyan details coming towards him, riding on the materializing road. It came down on the cop's left wrist as a brace was now there, and in his right hand, he now held the black mini race car.
The silver brace is a device that resembles part of an automatic transmission shifter, with a red strap like the belt.
[Use the Next Shift Car and attach it to the Shift Brace.]
Yuuki twisted the red ignition key on Belt-san as techno music started to play.
The detective didn't have time to question it as he looked at the minicar in his hand.
"So it's really just like a slot and I put it in here." He placed the car into the brace's slot.
[I know you always wanted the power to prove yourself to others. To show that even the Quirkless can change the world, right? And now this is your chance! I grant you the power to do so, Yuuki!] Belt-san continued.
[With me and the Shift Cars, you can move through a Heavy Acceleration faster than anyone else! And that is the power of the warrior Drive - The Kamen Rider!]
"My first Drive… Alright! I'm ready! Let's start our mission!" The silver-gray-eyed man announces, adopting a resolved expression.
He stepped forward and faced the three Roimudes.
"If this power will let me take care of these monsters and defy fate, then so be it!" Having the black Shift Car inserted into the Shift Brace's slot, the black-haired police detective shouts:
"Henshin!"
Yuuki brings the Shift Brace closer to his face, striking a transformation pose.
At the same time, Yuriko arrives on the scene, and she decides to watch things from afar, hiding behind a tree.
[Drive: Type Next!] (Orchestral rock music~)
Yuuki was soon enveloped in a holographic blue cylinder with a yellow ring around it that concealed his whole body, and then steam came out of it. When the holograms and steam disappeared, a new figure stood in his place.
A black bodysuit with blue connecting lines formed over his body before a set of armor pieces fell into place sporting a similar blue line on a black surface design to that of the NEXTridoron, the black car parked behind him.
The armor's helmet was completely black with the exception of a blue circuit line running along the middle of the forehead to meet the 'R' logo resting on the forehead. The man's eyes were protected by blue optics that were shaped like a pair of stylish sunglasses.
An energy tire formed from NEXTridoron's left front wheel and flew over to the transformed cop before settling on his upper torso with the tread grooves highlighted in a yellow color and the word 'Type Next' inscribed on the black surface.
This is Kamen Rider Dark Drive - Type Next!
The lenses light up as they glowed blue before dimming and Yuuki looked at his now black-gloved hands.
The Transformation Belt 'Drive Driver' is the transformation device primarily used by Tomari Yuuki to transform into Kamen Rider Dark Drive. It houses the consciousness of the scientist Krim Steinbelt, whom Yuuki affectionally refers to as Belt-san.
The Shift Brace is one of Kamen Rider Drive's transformation devices. In this case, it is the device that holds Dark Drive's Shift Cars as a remote for his Drive Driver.
The Drive Driver only acts as a sensor, while the actual activation for the Shift Cars are performed on the Shift Brace. This does not detract at all from Belt-san's role, however. He can remotely control NEXTridoron and the Shift Cars on his own to provide reinforcements for Yuuki.
To transform, the user turns the red Advanced Ignition key on the Drive Driver and rotates a Type Change Shift Car into its Lever Mode before inserting it forwardly into the Shift Brace via the Shift Landing Panel.
Once the Shift Car is set, the user must hold the car and lift it up and down back into the Shift Landing Panel to finish the transformation sequence into Kamen Rider Drive, right after the Drive Driver announces "Drive: Type" and the corresponding Type used. The only Shift Cars usable to Drive when he is not transformed are the ones that change his Type forms.
The NEXTridoron is Kamen Rider Dark Drive's Rider Machine, his personal vehicle of transportation. It is based on the Mercedes-AMG GT.
Being a futuristic version of another Rider Machine known as the Tridoron, it is capable of conjuring holographic turrets that fire lasers from any side of the car, bonnet or side mirrors for ranged combat, as well as being able to ride down the side of a building.
Like the Shift Cars, it runs on Core Driviars and can bypass time distortions caused by a Roidmude.
It also provides Dark Drive with his weapons, the Handle-Ken and Door-Ju, by summoning them from the hollow section of its front portion whenever Yuuki calls for them. Belt-san can also control it remotely to assist Dark Drive in battle when needed. NEXTridoron also has an ejector seat, which is done by twisting a yellow-and-black striped pull lever, then pull on it, which will send Dark Drive flying upwards.
When Drive initiates a transformation or a Tire Koukan(Exchange), NEXTridoron creates the Shift Tire by first drawing its left front wheel in, then forming the Shift Tire, and lastly ejecting said Shift Tire by using its left wheel to push it out so that it can attach to Dark Drive.
Dark Drive's form and Shift Car arsenal can affect Tridoron's armaments via Tire Enhancements, which are activated when the Shift Cars are installed into NEXTridoron's back panel, which allows NEXTridoron to use the Shift Tires for attacking purposes.
Kamen Rider Dark Drive examined his new body as he could feel the power coursing through him. He flicked his wrist to get a gist of the suit's power as he looked at the Roidmudes.
"Tomari-san..." Yuriko watched from her position, her eyes now sparkling with interest.
An N symbol appeared on the Drive Driver's display before being replaced by Belt-san's face.
[Go for it, Yuuki!]
The three Plain Roidmudes charged towards the black Kamen Rider as the masked vigilant began to fight back against them.
At the same time, Air Jet and three other Pro Heroes also arrived on the scene. They were Mr. Brave, Fourth Kind and Vlad King.
Pro Hero
Mr. Brave
Mr. Brave is a man of average height and build, with light gray eyes and messy black hair.
He wears a dark blue bodysuit with lighter patches covering his forearms and hands, the sides of his thighs, and a thin stripe under his chest. The man also sports a belt around his waist, a cloth tied loosely around his neck, and headgear.
Quirk: [Hair-Raiser]
Mr. Brave's Quirk allows him to pluck clumps of his own hair from his head, as well as extend and harden the hair into sword-like constructs.
Pro Hero
Chivalrous Hero: Fourth Kind
Fourth Kind is a large, wide-set man with, as a result of his Quirk, four big arms. He has buzzed, grayish-brown hair and small but wide eyes with no eyebrows, although the skin where they'd be is notably heavy and defined. His teeth are prominently straight, and he also has a stitched scar running diagonally over his left eye.
His hero costume consists of a plain black suit (altered to include four sleeves) with a cyan-colored tie, three yellow diamonds patterning it down the center, and a thick gold ring on each of his twenty fingers. His jaw also appears to be made of metal, or at least have a metal casing, as with his neck.
Quirk: [Quad Arms]
Fourth Kind's Quirk is that he has four arms, increasing his strength.
Pro Hero
Blood Hero: Vlad King
Real name: Kan Sekijiro
This person is also the homeroom teacher of U.A. High School's 1-B Hero Class.
Sekijiro is a very tall, wide-set man of a bulky, muscular build, with lightly tanned skin, a few visible scars showing on his left cheek and the left side of his notably thick neck. He has short pale gray hair which is spiked upwards, away from his face, the only exception to this being the small clump of hair that hangs down over the left of his forehead. His eyes are very small and thin, and he has a wide mouth with two prominent lower canines, which appear even when his mouth is closed.
His hero costume consists of a dark red skin-tight suit with a very low u-shaped collar, which exposes the middle of his pectoral muscles and is lined with a thick black trim, which matches the ones over his shoulders. He wears white over-the-knee boots and thick vambraces over his lower arms, a thin wire snaking from one of the two small protrusions on the left one to the back of his neck, and red gloves. Around his waist, he has a three-piece metallic belt that dips downwards in the center, and he wears an orange mask over his eyes.
Blood Ejecting Glove: Sekijiro wears a gauntlet that can eject and reabsorb large amounts of his own blood.
Quirk: [Blood Control]
Sekijiro's Quirk allows him to freely manipulate his own blood after it has left his body. He can also solidify the ejected blood, allowing him to trap his opponent.
It appears that Sekijiro's Quirk allows him to go unaffected by levels of blood loss that would normally be fatal to the average human.
"What's going on here!? I thought there was only one villain here!" Air Jet talks as he looks at 034 receiving a blue energy-infused punch on the face from Dark Drive.
083 and 054 try to attack the masked vigilante with surprise tactics, but the black Rider then summons another weapon from his arsenal to repel the two of them away.
"Come, Handle-Ken!" Dark Drive calls, raising his right arm.
A sword with a motif of a steering wheel comes off from the NEXTridoron, landing in the Kamen Rider's hand.
[Turn Your Handle!] The weapon announces.
The Transcending Operating 'Handle-Ken' is a bladed weapon wielded by Kamen Rider Drive, resembling Tridoron's steering wheel.
When the Handle-Ken is summoned, it comes from the front portion of NEXTridoron's hollow section.
The Handle-Ken's blade is made from S0-1, an experimental compound that can also repair Shift Cars.
The blade itself is very sharp albeit weirdly balanced, but it can be made even more powerful by turning the Turn Action Handle steering wheel on the hilt, which announces [Turn], and powers up for the next attack.
Initiating a third Turn motion in a row causes the Handle-Ken to instead announce [U-Turn] and allow Dark Drive to execute the [Turn Slash] attack, where he drifts across the battlefield before he strikes the enemy with a powerful slash.
The blade is composed of the SO-Frame Shaft, the grey alloy on the inside of the blade, and the High Slasher, the blue transparent outer part which can develop a blade of energy that cuts through anything at contact through high-speed vibrations.
*Slash!* *Slash!*
"Argh!" The trio of Plain Roidmudes stumbles back as Dark Drive slashes them away with the Handle-Ken.
'To think we would stumble upon unusual Villain activity so soon after the U.S.J. Incident.' Vlad King observes, narrowing his eyes at the black Kamen Rider. 'And who is that? He doesn't look like a Hero.'
He and the two other Heroes met with Air Jet earlier on the way, who gave them a brief explanation of the current predicament.
"Let's stop the fight first and apprehend those villains." Fourth Kind suggests as the other agree with him.
The quartet of Pro Heroes was about to join the fight...
However, three more Plain Roidmudes suddenly appear before the four of them:
A Cobra Type with the number 013.
A Bat Type with the number 011.
And a Spider Type with the number 015.
They all had silver-colored collars around their necks.
"There's more of them!?" Mr. Brave cries in surprise ad he and the others were about to fight them.
*Flash!* *Blink!*
But the newly arrived evil androids caused Heavy Acceleration on the four Heroes, making them unable to properly move during the time distortion.
"What the!?" Fourth Kind gasps, trying to regain control of his body.
But to no avail.
'My body is moving slower!?' Vlad King grimaces, also doing the same.
The trio of Roidmudes aim their finger guns at the Pro Heroes and open fire.
*Bang!* *Bang!*
It was a one-sided thing. The robot's energy bullets easily pierced through the Heroes' bodies as if they were made of paper.
While thankfully, no vital spots were miraculously hit, a lot of blood from the humans splattered across the place as a result.
"Argh!" Mr. Brave coughs blood as he, Fourth Kind and Air Jet were about to pass out from the damage they just received.
As for Vlad King, he was only feeling pain from the bullet shots he took.
Roidmude 015 spits an energy web from his mouth, trapping the four men into it as 011 and 013 proceed to push them away from the place with a double kick into the quartet of Pro Heroes.
Yuriko watches everything that transpired from her position, a look of horror forming on her face at the brutal outcome.
'They easily took down four Pro Heroes during the Slowdown as if they were nothing!' She thinks in a grimace.
The rookie detective then notices that the new trio of mechanical monsters was about to strike Kamen Rider Dark Drive from behind while he was still busy dealing with 034's group.
'Oh, no! Tomari-san!' She thinks in despair, trying to move during the Slowdown. 'If only I could move!' The rookie curses, trying to reach for her gun.
Unbeknownst to her, a Shift Car themed after a black futuristic police car gets into contact with her, hiding inside of one of her pockets while she wasn't looking.
This immediately allows Yuriko to now freely move during the Heavy Acceleration as the time distortion no longer affects her.
'I can move now!?' She realizes but decides to focus on this later and first aid her partner.
'Die!' 011 prepares to hit Dark Drive from behind with a fist coated in dark energy.
"Tomari-san!"
*Bang!* *Bang!*
Huh!?
Dark Drive kick's 034's group away and turns around to find the three new Roidmudes that almost got him.
There was smoke coming from 011,013 and 015's bodies as the Rider realizes that someone just shot them with a gun.
And from the familiar voice he just heard now calling for his name, then it must have been none other than…
'Yuriko!?' Dark Drive finds her hiding behind a tree, aiming her revolver at the Roidmudes.
But he wasn't having any of that.
"No! Get out of here, Yuriko! You can't face them with standard police equipment!" The Rider warns his new partner.
The silver-collared Roidmudes finally take notice of who fired at them as they turn towards Yuriko, glaring darkly at the woman.
But before they got the opportunity to attack her, Dark Drive gets between them and kicks the new trio of Roidmudes away.
[NEXTridoron, shoot!]
Belt-san commands as the black Mercedes starts to move on its own while firing its blue energy beams at all the Roidmudes present in the area.
Taking this as her cue to leave, Yuriko begrudgingly complies with her senpai's order as she proceeds to get into a safer spot.
'Please, be careful, Tomari-san!' She now prays for his victory.
After both learned from each other about their mutual Quirkless status, a sense of companionship was slowly beginning to form between the two of them...
"Alright then you bastards, let's go for a test drive!" Dark Drive charged after the Roidmudes as they fired at him.
The Kamen Rider made it through their attacks and went after the 015 Spider-Type Roimude, throwing multiple punches before kicking him away as he turned to face the 083 Bat-Type Romiude.
Said latter Roimude kicked him but Dark Drive caught it with his hand and gripped it tightly before it threw a punch at him, which he caught with his hand. The black car-themed warrior scoffed and pushed him back.
The two regrouped before charging at Dark Drive, trying to double team him. The police detective smirked knowing he's been in situations where he's fought more than one opponent before when heaving to deal with petty outlaws.
Whenever that would happen he would just kick all their butts at once!
He quickly knocked the two back making them roll on the ground.
Drive twisted the Driver's Advanced Ignition key and then pressed the Shift Brace's red Igniter button before Belt-san announced…
[Next!]
A thumbs-up symbol appeared on the Drive Driver's display before being replaced by Type Next's N one.
Drive's wheel began to rapidly spin as the six Roimudes began fire at him. On the move, the Rider quickly got on the ground and started to let the wheel do its work as he came within range of them.
With a leg sweep, he sent them all in midair as he quickly stood on his feet and threw multiple punches at them.
His fists were moving faster and faster as a projection of a blue speed meter appeared, being able to tell how fast he was punching.
"Now this is what I call fast!" The Rider cries, pleased with how much better his body has become by wearing this suit.
He continued his assault and then threw one last punch, sending them rolling on the ground towards the 034 and 013 Cobra-Type Roimudes, who recovered first.
"Let's see you try that with me!" The lead android kicked the others to the side before rushing towards Dark Drive.
"Bring it on!" Spat Dark Drive as they traded blows but the Cobra-Type Roimudes countered him.
Drive rolled on the ground as he glared at him.
"Bastard!" They engaged in combat again as the Rider summons his sword.
[Turn!]
Dark Drive turns the Handle-Ken's steering once.
He then presses the blade's 'horn'.
[Drift Kaiten!]
The Kamen spins like a top and slashes his enemies several times as each slash makes a blue light-like circle appear, while also leaving skid marks on the ground.
"Argh!"
This was too much for 013 to handle as his body explodes.
*Boom!*
His Core soon does the same.
"Damn you!" 034 growls after seeing the death of his brethren.
Dark Drive was thrown inside a warehouse by the remaining Cobra-Type Roimude, that now proceeded towards him.
Drive took out the Shift Next from his brace and pulled out Max Flare and twisted the Driver's Advanced Ignition key before flipping the lever of Max Flare, the orange fiery Shift Car. He inserted the car into the Shift Brace and pushed the lever.
After transforming with a Type Change Shift Car, Yuuki has the option to switch between different other Shift Cars.
To do so, he must turn the Advanced Ignition, pull the used Shift Car out, convert the new Shift Car to Lever Mode, insert it back into the Shift Brace, and repeat the same lifting action. This would change the base Shift Tire from the Type, or any previous Shift Tire used before, and cause the Drive Driver to announce [Tire Koukan] ("Tire Exchange") and then the corresponding Shift Car used.
Based on a flaming hotrod, Shift Max Flare is a sentient Shift Car that allows Dark Drive to gain the Max Flare Shift Tire, granting him fire-enhanced abilities.
By itself, it can attack by igniting the tracks it spawns with intense fire, which can also boost the attacks of the other Shift Cars.
[Tire Koukan!]
The Drive Driver's display showed GO before an image of a spinning wheel appeared next.
"Tire Koukan?" The Rider questioned, looking down at Belt-san, hoping he would answer that.
However, his question was soon answered when NEXTridon produced another tire, which was engulfed in flames aiming at the Cobra-Type Roimude, hitting him before going over to Dark Drive, whose tire was replaced by an orange one with fiery tips.
[Max Flare!]
The Driver now displayed the image of a flare in it.
"So this is Flare's power..." mused Dark Drive, looking at his new tire. "Flare, huh? Then that means…" He rushed over to the Roimude sending punches at him.
Dark Drive noticed that his fists were enveloped in flames along with his legs whenever he kicked him.
"Nice. You need a little heat in ya!" He grinned.
Drive pulled the brace's lever thrice.
[FL-FL-Flare!]
A fire wheel materialized on his left hand as he kicked towards the Roimude. Once the flaming wheel hit, the flames created a tornado around him which lifted him up in the air sending him out of the building.
The black Kamen Rider ran after him.
Drive proceeded toward the Cobra-Type, but the other Bat and Spider Types charged at him once they saw him out o the building.
The masked warrior countered their attacks pushing them back. He grabbed ahold of the Bat-Type Roimude's arm after it attempted to hit him.
Dark Drive then pulled Max Flare out of the Shift and grabbed Spike.
The Bat-Type Roimude was pushed back by the Rider, who twisted the driver's red ignition key and flipped the lever of the green car in his possession and then inserted it into the Shift Brace.
[Tire Koukan!]
Dark Drive's Max Flare wheel was replaced by a green one with spikes on it.
[Funky Spike!]
Based on a spiky hotrod, Shift Funky Spike is a green sentient Shift Car that allows Dark Drive to gain the Funky Spike Shift Tire, enabling him to either shoot spikes or impale enemies on the Shift Tire.
By itself, it can attack by slamming itself into enemies while extending its spikes.
The black Kamen Rider jumped over his enemies and fired a barrage of spikes from his chest, aiming at the Roimudes. He landed behind them as the 054 Spider-Type attempted to hit him.
He grabbed said Roimude and turned him around, then pulled the lever thrice.
[SP-SP-Spike!]
The Funky Spike wheel spun around on Dark Drive's chest as it hit the Spider-Type Roimude's back, thus destroying it as the number 054 Core came flying out of its body.
"Argh!"
*Boom!*
The black warrior exchanged Funky Spike for Shadow, the purple car in his possession.
But before changing tires again, he loads the green Spike into the Door-Ju, summoning the gun and aiming it at the 015 Spider Type.
The Door-Ju's Full Throttle finisher PerfecShot is activated when Dark Drive loads a Shift Car into its Shift Landing Panel.
Full Throttle is the name used for Kamen Riders Dark Drive's finishers.
[Hissatsu: Spike - Full Throttle!]
Dark Drive fires a powerful giant green energy needle from the Door-Ju, piercing 015's body with it. The result is instantaneous as the evil android's body explodes, followed by his Core coming next to 054's.
The two Cores(Roidmude Souls) from the Spider Types explode upon that.
"Argh!"
*Boom!* *Boom!*
[Tire Koukan!]
Dark Drive's chest was replaced by a purple wheel that greatly resembled a shuriken.
[Midnight Shadow!]
Based on a ninja hotrod, Shift Midnight Shadow is a sentient purple Shift Car that allows Kamen Rider Dark Drive to gain the Midnight Shadow Shift Tire, granting him enhanced stealth capabilities that enable him to duplicate himself and the ability to throw energy shuriken.
By itself, it can attack by shooting energy shuriken and creating copies of itself.
Dark Drive quickly pulled the lever thrice.
[SH-SH-Shadow!]
A purple projectile of a shuriken appeared on the masked warrior's hand as he turned to see three of the remaining Roimudes coming after him. The Kamen Rider quickly evaded their attacks and threw the shuriken at the 011 Bat-Type, who soon exploded after the shuriken had hit him.
"Argh!"
*Boom!*
Dark Drive, 034 and the other Bat-Type Roimude watched as the floating number 011's Core had exploded, causing the last two Roimude to growl at the vigilante. They charged after Dark Drive, who countered them with punches, sending them away from him.
The transformed fighter brings forth his Handle-Ken again and inserts Midnight Shadow into the blade's Shift Landing Panel behind its blade.
The Kamen Rider then activates his [Turn Slash] Rider Slash Full Throttle finisher.
[Hissatsu: Shadow - Full Throttle!]
When Drive slashes with the Handle-Ken, a giant purple energy shuriken is shot at the enemy.
Roidmude 083 becomes the next victim of the black warrior, being cut in half before his body and Core exploded.
"Argh!"
*Boom!*
"Kamen Rider!" The remaining Cobra Type Roidmude 034 cursed.
There were six of them and yet five of them still got destroyed against one Quirkless human!?
Inconceivable!
[Use the Next Tire to finish him off, Yuuki!]
Belt-san instructed.
"Yeah!" Dark Drive knocked the last Roimude back and quickly changed the Shadow Tire with the Speed Next Car.
[All Tire Attack!]
Shouted Belt-san as the Flare, Spike, and Next Tires all came out at once.
The Next Tire knocked the Shadow Tire out of Dark Drive's chest, the purple one soon joined the other Tires on attacking the final Roimude.
To initiate a finishing attack, Dark Drive must turn the Advanced Ignition and press the red Igniter button on the Shift Brace, located next to the Advanced Ignition, which makes the Drive Driver announce [Hissatsu!] with a revving noise being looped.
Lifting the Shift Car afterward would then give Dark Drive an exceeding amount of power, as well as cause the Drive Driver to announce [Full Throttle!] and then the corresponding Shift Car used.
Dark Drive may now release the power gained in any way he wishes unless the Shift Car does not comply.
Dark Drive pressed the red Igniter button on the Shift Brace.
[Hissatsu!]
Four tires appeared around the Cobra Roimude as they spun and made contact with him. And Kamen Rider Dark Drive prepared to execute the dealing blow on his mechanical opponent.
[Full Throttle: Next!]
Dark Drive flicked his wrist as NEXTridon began to move around him, going faster and faster until it was nothing but a blue blur.
The four tires around the Cobra Roimude 034 sent him towards the black warrior's direction, who began to jump into the blur.
Once the Roimude was trapped in the center he was being kicked by Dark Drive quickly appearing from all sides.
"HA!" Dark Drive shouted kicking the Roimude's chest before landing on his feet, sliding across the park's floor and releasing some sparks along the process.
NEXTridon appeared next to him after the last Roimude had exploded behind him.
"Argh!"
*Boom!*
But unlike his late companions, 034's wasn't completely destroyed. Defeated, his numbered Core flew away from the park, vowing vengeance against the black Kamen Rider that defeated him today.
From her new hiding spot, Yuriko watched her senpai's victory with an expression of relief, glad that he won the fight and was fine.
She has a lot of things to ask about what she just witnessed, especially about his abilities.
It really didn't seem at all that Tomari-san was a Quirkless person like her.
'So that is the power of the Kamen Rider… Dark Drive.' She thinks, a glint appearing in her eyes as she leaves the area.
[Nice Drive, Yuuki!] Belt-san compliments his user as a happy expression shows up on the Drive Driver's display.
"Yeah. But this is only the beginning, isn't it? If what you told me about the Roidmudes' resurfacing is true, then..." Dark Drive trailed off.
It still felt surreal to wield the abilities Krim granted to him.
But he did it.
He became the next Kamen Rider Drive!
But with that said…
"Hey, you! Hold it!" A gruff tired voice calls the Kamen Rider.
The masked fighter turns to see an injured Vlad King slowly making his way towards the Rider, limping his left leg.
"..." The two stared at each other in silence for a brief moment.
Only after all the Roidmudes were defeated that the Pro Heroes could finally move properly, no longer being affected by the Slowdown's time distortion.
054's spider web that was trapping Vlad King and the other Heroes only disappeared upon said android's death.
The others were still unconscious, having lost a lot of blood and the damage of the shots they received became too much for them to handle.
This only left one red injured Pro Hero to confront this apparent vigilante.
"Who are you?" Vlad King asks the mysterious black figure. "You're clearly not a Hero, are you?"
The U.A. teacher inquiries, looking at the Kamen Rider with suspicion as he narrowed his eyes.
Dark Drive merely turns his back to the older man before coldly replying:
"I don't need to introduce myself to the likes of you. I'm busy, so go bother someone else."
"What!?" A vein pops up on the Pro Hero's forehead. "That's it! You're coming with me for a talk!"
Using his Blood Ejecting Glove, Sekijiro ejects blood from his body and solidifies it to form a large hammer with it, next charging towards the Kamen Rider at a fast speed despite the injuries he received from the Roidmudes.
But Dark Drive easily counters Vlad King at the last instant, when the Pro Hero is now within his range…
*Crack!*
The Kamen Rider easily shatters the solid blood hammer apart with his fist.
*Smash!*
"Argh!"
Dark Drive then brings back his body and performs an explosive stomping palm thurst attack with his leading right palm, hitting Vlad King's chest.
The technique emits an eerie blue streak of energy as the palm connects, making the Pro Hero cough as he is sent flying away before dropping on the ground with a loud thud.
Relaxing his stance, the black Kamen Rider looks dryly at his beaten assailant.
"Now if you excuse me, I have other matters to attend." He tells flatly to the U.A. teacher before turning away and walking towards the NEXTridoron.
"Wait… You Vigilante..." Sekijiro struggled to say before finally passing out, the injuries catching up to him at last.
[The authorities have already been warned and I sent an anonymous tip to the emergency services. An ambulance is on the way to help the Heroes. We should leave now, Yuuki.] Belt-san advises as the black Rider gets in his personal car.
"Duly noted." The masked warrior merely replies as he drives away from the park.
He knows this will eventually lead to him earning a target on his back as more Pro Heroes might come after him later.
But this is a matter for another day…
He never intended to fight the Roidmudes alongside the Pro Heroes in the first place.
This whole thing was personal for him.
And sometimes, there are certain matters that he must take into his own hands…
The Closing Screen of this chapter shows Shift Next, Max Flare, Funky Spike and Midnight Shadow side by side with the logo of Kamen Rider Dark Drive behind them.

Author Notes:
Thank you for reading!
This story starts after the U.S.J. Incident Arc since I don't want to start this fanfic from the beginning of the My Hero Academia's anime/manga timeline. It gets really tiring to see this after reading so many fanfics that tend to start this way.
I know this chapter left many questions unanswered. But there will be eventually more information revealed in the next chapters to clarify some things.
Tomari Yuuki and Shijima Yuriko will be the My Hero Academia universe's counterparts of Tomari Shinnosuke and Shijima Kiriko from Kamen Rider Drive, but they won't act exactly like them.
I made Yuuki have a job as a police detective to give him a reason to interact with both Heroes and Villains alike without arousing much suspicion and for him to have an easier time knowing whenever he needs to fight as a vigilante in the form of Kamen Rider Dark Drive. I didn't want him to have the Hero Course student or teacher role at U.A. High School that other fanfics use.
If you guys have any suggestions that I could use for this new potential story idea, you're free/welcome to share!
Also, on the same note:
I plan to create an original Shift Car for Dark Drive to use that lets him use the power of [Electricity]. Does anyone reading have any idea/suggestion of a cool name for it?
So, what do you guys think? Please give me some reviews if possible.
If you are interested, please go check my other stories.
See You Next Time
