Naruto is a great student and is looking for a future in politics like his father while Mami was a modal. However during their spare time they LOVE playing MMO's together. Their father bought both of them a NERVGear and a copy of Yggdrasill Online to occupy their time. Little did any of them the fate that awaited them.

Chapter 2: Making a living
Location: Konoha City
Place: Senju Medical Facility
Time: 1200 Friday, October 16th 2078
The sound of ventilators, IV drips, EEG's and Heart monitors sounded like dull bombs going off in the red haired woman's mind. The white of the walls felt like the padding of a cell in a mental asylum with how hard she was trying not to bounce off of the walls in anger, fear, depression, and other emotions that she couldn't fathom. Her purple eyes were currently dull as she looked at her world that was currently on the brink of oblivion.
Namikaze-Uzumaki Kushina sat at the edge of the double bed that her Naru-chan and Mi-chan were sharing. She had contacted her Aunt and proprietor of the State of the art medical facility. The truth was that Senju Medical was a subsidiary of Uzumaki Industries. It was actually one of the reasons that Naruto and Mami were able to get the best room and were sharing a bed. So they could keep together.
The door to the room opened and in walked Senju Tsunade. Kushina, Naruto, and Mami's Aunt. Tsunade was a renounced doctor that had preformed surgeries the world over. She was also the leading authority on Deep Dive technology for Medical purposes. She was also helping a group of people look into the source code to fins the log out button, conferences with the Uzu-I shareholders, and other such things. All with one clear goal in mind.
To find a way to free people from Yggdrasil and stop the SAO project.
Tsunade stood behind Kushina. "Kushina a moment of your time please," said Tsunade.
"If it's not a way to get my kids out of this death trap I don't want to hear it," said Kushina.
Tsunade took a seat. "Kushina-chan I know that you are in pain, but," started Tsunade.
Kushina rounded on Tsunade with a wild look in her eyes. "I'm not in pain Tsunade! My children are and I can't do a damn thing to protect them! I can't comfort them! I have to sit and watch and HOPE to the gods above that they make it thought Kayaba's death game!" yelled Kushina, only to stopp and turn to Mami and Naruto. "Mommy is sorry for yelling in front of you both,"
Tsunade sighed. "I'm sorry Kushina. This is for your own good," said Tsunade as she took out a needle .
"What are you. YEE!" yelled Kushina as Tsunade plunged the needle into Kushina's arm. "What did you do to me?"
"It's was a a stronger then average sedative. It will put you to sleep for a few hours. Considering that you've barely sleep 2 whole peaceful hours this was for the best," said Tusnade
"Tsuna- started Kushina, before she fell into Tsunade's arms.
"I'm Sorry Ku-chan, but this is for the best," said Tsuande as she placed Kushina on a bed close to her kids.
Location: Plains Zone
Place: Outskirts of Low Village, Graveyard
Time: 1300 Saturday October 17th 2078
Naruto threw several shuriken and managed Insta-kills by hitting vital spots on a few of the weaker level 2 skeletons. Suguha jumped backwards and blocked a slash, before she thrust her blade into the head of a Skeleton. Mami aimed her staff and unleashed a wave of Flames that managed to add burn damage to their target. A level 5 Leather Armored Skeleton. The armored Skeletion charged at Naruto and Suguha since they were the two who had the highest Aggro at the moment.
"Block!" yelled Naruto and Suguha as they both activated a universal defense skill
The Skeleton hit the both and sent them sevreal feet backwards and dropping them both into the orange zone. (1)
"Naru-Nii, Sugu-chan!"Group Heal!" said Mami as her staff glowed green.
Naruto and Suguha both gained a significant amount of health back.
"Thanks Mi-nee. Now lets take this SOB out! Assassination!" yelled Naruto vanishing for his spot next to Mami and appearing behind the leather armored Skeleton, mamanging to weaken it t. "Suguha finish it!"
" On it Overhead Slash!" yelled taking out another skeleton.

Naruto, Mami, and Suguha had been stuck inside of Yggdrasil for a week now. Over the last week many things had happened that had forced the hands of several people. Over 10000 players had already committed Suicide. Others died to the field bosses and dungeons, being vastly under prepared. Others had shut down. In all Honestly many people began to give up hope on ever leaving the first zone, let alone the game. (2)
Naruto, Suguha, and Mami were not part of that group who were giving up! On the first day of their lives in Low Village, the group discussed things more in depth then before. Aside from the death game aspect, Yggdrasil was showing itself to be quite a fair game in terms of its mechanics. However that didn't mean things were going to be easy.
Thanks to the way the World was divided into 10 'Zones' the players were currently locked inside of the first zone. The Open Plains. There were 4 major cities and 25 towns spread across what would amount to 200 square miles IRL. The Dungeon that the group was currently in was one that they had cleared at least twice, but it was good for grinding and gathering Gol, EXP, and materials that they traded for Gol, potions, and other such items. It may not have been the way any of them envisioned their lives, but this was how they made their living.
"We hit our Quote for the day. Let's get out of here," said Suguha sheathing her sword.
"Alright. We need to pay our bill at the Inn as well. Secure a couple of tents, ingredients, and Safety Zone Crystal. We might need to start doing All Night grinding sessions," said Naruto.
No thank you. I need my Beauty sleep Naru-nii," pouted Mami making Naruto and Suguha laugh.
The trio had created a shared 'Bank account' as well as Individual accounts at the In game banks. There were a few tiers to the banking system. Individual, Duo, Party, Small Guild, Medium Guild, Large Guild. Mami had originally wanted to keep Her and Naruto's Finances as a Duo. Suguha got pretty annoyed by this and it lead to an argument between the two. The disagreement lasted for two whole days and even saw Naruto fall into the Red zone because they were fighting a random field boss. Naruto had took both girls aside and spanked them both inside of their Inn room. While it wouldn't drop their health any, they still felt every spank. The girls quickly made up and went to create the shared bank account.
The village that the Trio were staying in was small even compared to the other villages. It had 20 homes, some that doubled as shops and The Inn was the second biggest building in the village, with the Village Lord having the largest house. Unfortunately they were not the only party living in the area. There were about 15 parties living in the area. The groups in the area operated on a Live-and-let-live policy Naruto paid for another day as they went to their room. As they were walking up the stairs another group was coming down.
The leader of the group looked at Naruto and snorted. The man was short yet solidly built man with sienna, spiky (cactus-styled) hair,He also has a small sienna goatee and brown eyes and wears a scale mail armor with a rather large one-handed sword on his back. His name was Kibaou and he had the personality of an anger orange cat.
When he and his party arrived in the area all of them were Level 4's. His group had offered protection to Naruto and his, while he had been eyeing up Suguha the entire time. This had pissed Naruto off enough to challenge the bastard to a single hit dual. A duel that Naruto won with ease since his skills in Assassination had advanced enough to give him a limited optical camouflage. Naruto used it to his advantage as well as his Stun-dagger.
"Get out of our way brat, we go hunting to do!" growled Kibaou.
Naruto clenched his teeth and balled up his fist. "I already kicked your ass once asshole, don't make it twice," said Naruto.
Kibaou gained a tickmark and grabbed Naruto by his shirt. "Say that again punk! I dare ya!"
Mami got between them and lightly pushed Kibaou's hand off of Naruto. "Now boys there's no need to fight. We can all just get along," said the blonde haired girl with a smile.
Kibaou smirked and pulled Mami into his side. "For you baby I can put up with the brat," said Kibaou
Naruto narrowed his eyes. "Get your fucking hands off my sister!" growled Naruto.
"Let MB-san go," Said Suguha.
Mami looked into Kibaou's eyes, before she smiled and pulled away and got close to naruto's side and hugged him tightly. Not out of fear or anything like that, but she honestly didn't want Naruto to kill the guy. The last time someone put their hands on her like that Naruto nearly beat the old pervert to hell and back.
"It's not polite to speak to someone in such a manner Kibaou-san. If you'll excuse us we're pretty tired and want to rest," said Mami threading her fingers with Naruto's, before grabbing Suguha's hand and going up to their room.
Suguha opened the door and entered into the small room. It had a small table in the center a bunk bed and a single bed. The game calculated the space they needed and created it. Once they all had a chance to rest they quickly changed from their combat gear to comfortable shirts pants/skirt in Mami's case.
The Trio then began to sort their inventory and moved supplies around. Naruto sorted several ores and traded with Mami and Suguha as he was the one who normally kept those types of things. Mami kept materials that could b used in Alchemy and potions, More organic materials, and Suguha kept the food ingredients.
The Trio sat at the table as their dinner arrived. Once their plates were on the table Naruto took out a Holo map of the floor and activated it. Of course it wasn't the entire map, just the portion that they had explored which to say wasn't much since they had stuck to the Southwest quadrant of the Zone.
"So where should we go now?" asked Suguha as she took a bite of her salad.
"We've cleared most of the dungeons in this quadrant and are basically only using them for grinding now. Personality I want to try something new," said Mami sipping her tea.
"Then we'd have to leave to the West Quadrant of the zone since the East and North are heavily populated," said Naruto pointing at the locations that they knew players like to frequent.
The Trio searched the Map, before Mami's eyes landed on something. "Here. It's called the Broken Crown Valley. It's a day's hike from here. There's a small roadside Inn that leads into the Valley itself," said Mami.
"Is there any data that has been shared between players about the area?" asked Naruto.
Suguha shuck her head. "None. Most players have settled in one of the large towns and those who are actively adventuring are more settled in the North and East. The fact that any part of the South has been mapped is a miracle in and off itself," said the dark haired beauty
"What about the info broker... Argo the rat? She seems to be able to get her hands on information like nobodies business," said Mami.
"If she was in the market to sell. I checked with her and all the Info brokers are only just setting up networks and looking into rumors for things the Beta-testers told them about," said Naruto.
"So no info other then what we already expect? I'm in," said a grinning Suguha.
"I'm with her. We need to start branching out if we ever expect to do anything," said Mami.
Naruto nodded. "Then it's settled. We gear up and head out tomorrow for Broken Crown," said Naruto with a smirk.
Next time
Our Heroes head out in search of adventure in an unexplored part of the map. A path no one has traveled and the key to their freedom might just be within reach.
