Inside a large office on the top floor of Capsule Corp headquarters, 17 sat behind Bulma's desk and gazed idly out the window. The view wasn't spectacular, all he could see was part of the car park and one of the other building's in the complex but the android wasn't too focused on the scenery. 17 had sought out assistance from Capsule Corp. The previous evening Bulma and Dr. Briefs had taken scans of the androids and rushed them down to the lab. Even though it was late. To his surprise Bulma didn't gloat that 17 had turned to him for assistance, instead she took the scans off 17's hands and asked him to return the following morning to allow her scientists time to run some tests.
It had been a long and uncomfortable night for 17. The android was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't hear the door to the office open. Bulma stepped inside and instantly spotted the look of apprehension on the android's face. Contrary to what Gero thought, she genuinely wanted to help. Bulma walked quietly up to her desk and placed a large takeaway coffee on the surface. The noise snapped 17's attention back to the present and he nearly fell out of the chair, "Bulma, you startled me", the android gasped.
"My apologies 17", Bulma replied, "I thought you could do with this", she tapped the coffee, "it doesn't look like you've had much sleep".
"That's an understatement", 17 replied and took a long drag from the cup, "you remembered my favourite".
"Give me some credit", Bulma smiled before pausing for a moment, her face turned a little more serious, "the lab has come back with their analysis".
17 frowned as he sensed the change in Bulma's tone, "Is it serious?"
Bulma turned on the large television screen that was mounted on the wall and some of the data from the tests was displayed.
" The androids were hacked, in fact every Red Ribbon android except for you got hacked in some capaicty " Bulma explained.
17 was still too dumb struck to do anything other than nod slowly. It took him a few moments to regain his composure. Before the conversation could continue, the intercom in the office buzzed, "I thought I told you not to disturb me Ms Stocking", Bulma said to her secretary.
"I'm sorry Ms Briefs but I thought you'd want to see the latest news broadcast", Stocking replied.
Bulma grabbed a remote control and switched the television to a national news station, "You join us live at the scene of some kind of android attack on the citizens of the city", the news reporter began.
"A hacker?" 17 asked.
"I guess so", Bulma replied.
"The backlash from the public has caused the citizens to attack the Red Ribbon base. We will update you once we have more information but until then this is Caitlin Cornell for NBC News".
Bulma and 17 watched as the Red Ribbon base burned on the tv. Bulma buzzed her secretary back on the intercom, "Stocking, tell security to empty out the west building please".
Later on 17 had gone and laid down. Bulma was about to take a break when someone walked into her room. The man was in his late thirties or early forties with greying brown hair. He was tall, skinny and dressed in a grey suit with an open collar. He wore a pair of thick framed glasses and gave Bulma a firm nod as a greeting, "I don't believe we've been introduced", Bulma stated.
"Phillip Colson", the man said stiffly, "Head of the Directors at the Royal Government".
Bulma immediately got to her feet, "How did you get past security?"
"That's not important", Colson answered, "rumour has it that you're helping the Red Ribbon androids".
"What of it?" Bulma snapped.
"Come now Ms Briefs, no need to be so tense", Colson smiled, "I've come to offer a proposal".
Bulma took a few moments to appraise this newcomer. Clearly Phillip Colson was a confident man but his voice and mannerisms reminded her of a car sales man or a lawyer. Bulma knew that the Government wanted Red Ribbon gone, mostly out of Capsule Corp's way The two companies had been big rivals for the last decade, mostly in the engineering sector. Accepting help from them would be a blow to the ego but right now she didn't have much choice, "I'm sure that you're not offering your services out of the kindness of your heart".
"Please call me Phil", the man replied smoothly, "and you insult us Bulma, we're here purely as humanitarians". He crossed the room and placed an arm around Bulma shoulder, "Although". He said, Bulma shaking off the man's grasp in the process. Bulma chose not to respond.
Phillip smiled, "Perhaps there is a way you can help us". Bulma suddenly felt very uneasy, " Its as simple as this" Phillip said, " You and Capsule Corp dont help Red Ribbon, let the androids die and the army will take out the rogue ones in the city"
" And if i refuse?" Bulma said, Phillip walked over and stood over Bulma
" Trust me, you dont want to refuse" Phillip said,
" Trust me " a voice said, causing Phillip to turn around coming face to face with the prince of all Saiyans himself.
" Threaten my Bulma or my family again " Vegeta said, " and there wont be a government to worry about"
Phillip Colson suddenly went pale and felt very uneasy, like he was feeling like he was about to be reduced to dust, not waiting Phillip hurried out of the office, he was hoping Vegeta wouldn't shoot him in the back, he couldn't put Vegeta past that.
