CHAPTER 1
Izuku always looked up to heroes, or more specifically, All Might. The Greatest Hero of all time.
Much like a lot of children his age, he wanted to be a hero when he grew up, but unlike a lot of children, his dreams were halted before he even had a chance to get started. All from just a few words spoken by a doctor.
"Sorry kid, it just ain't gonna happen."
That day, the cold, hard reality of life hit him much harder than anything had in all his 4 years of life. It was then, he knew that not everyone is born equal.
That night made everything so much worse for him, as his own mother refused to answer him when he asked if he could be a hero.
He hated it. Yet he hated himself more than anything, and the voices really didn't help.
All night the only thing he heard was the voice of someone within him constantly calling him:
"Weak."
At the young age of 4 he cried himself to sleep, for the first time, but definitely not the last.
By the time the next day had rolled around, word had spread like wildfire of Midoriya's quirklessness.
Most of the kids avoided him like the plague. Simply because he was different to them, but a few of them decided because he was different, he was nothing but a weak joke to them. One in particular took that to heart a boy named Katsuki Bakugo.
The long time friend of Midoriya looked down on him with so much anger because Midoriya still wanted to be a hero. A title belonging to the greatest like Bakugo.
Bakugo found Midoriya's desire to be a hero sickening, because he was weak... And Bakugo was not the type to keep his thoughts to himself.
That lunch time in the cafeteria Bakugo approached the young hero wannabe with hatred in his eyes.
"Izuku!" The explosive boy yelled.
"I heard you don't have a quirk, yet you still want to be a hero. Well here's a warning for you. Quirkless weaklings like you shouldn't even try."
The words resounded in the green haired boy's mind as the voices intensified; they wouldn't stop no matter how hard he cried or pleaded.
Then suddenly all the voices began screaming in rage.
"HIM. He's the one who called you WEAK! Hurt him! KILL HIM!"
The green haired boy's vision turned red as his anger took him over. He wanted to hurt Kacchan even though he was Izuku's first friend, Izuku wanted to hurt him more than anything else in the world.
"I mean a weakling like you doesn't even have a quirk so how are you meant to be a her-"
His words were cut off by the green haired boy slamming his fist into his face but even after the first punch was thrown Izuku didn't stop or it was more like he couldn't as he got on top of the blond boy he wailed on him for what felt like hours as the other children stood there in shock at what they were witnessing, but even as they screamed at him to stop he didn't, he wanted this... He wanted to hurt him.
By the time he snapped out of it his hand was fully drenched in Bakugos blood as his unconscious body laid on the ground his face had a blanket of crimson flowing down from his nose.
But for the first time since yesterday the voices stopped, it was quiet but that was only for a fleeting moment as the teachers saw what happened the only thing Izuku could do was run...
And run he did, he ran like his life depended on it, he ran as far as his little legs would take him.
He had somehow made it to near a fence as he looked into said fence he saw a bunch of children playing, he was at a school but not his school as he stood and watched for a couple of minutes, he eventually noticed a girl on the other side of the fence standing there just staring at him, he decided to talk to the girl to see what she wants but as he got close he heard the shouts from the teachers from his school, as panic shot across his face the girl yelled at him.
"Come here" She said as he ran over to see what she wanted as he got close he noticed an opening in the fence, she pried open the corner of the fence making it big enough for him to fit through.
"Crawl through" She basically demanded so as quickly as he could he squeezed through the fence hole, once he was inside she grabbed his hand and took him to one the play areas with a small wooden fence between the play area and the metal fence he had just crawled through, she covered his mouth and nose to keep him quiet as the teachers from his school looked into the school he was hiding in.
As they passed away a breath broke out of him as he relaxed as much as he took given the situation, as the two of them just sat there in a looming silence.
Izuku didn't know what to say or do so he just sat there hoping the blonde girl would break the ice as the minutes started passing and nobody said anything. He was getting worried that something was wrong so he opened his mouth to speak but the girl cut him off before he could actually say anything.
"Hi I'm Himiko Toga, who are you?"
As straightforward as one person could be.
"I-I'm Izuku M-Midoriya it's nice to me-"
"Is that blood" she cut him off again and started pointing at his crimson hand as he tried to hide it before he answered, she grabbed his hand and stared at it.
"Yeah."
The green haired boy replied as quickly as possible the way he said it though was filled with shame and regret as the voices began to appear again berating him for regretting beating Bakugo to a Bloodypulp, just as he thought they would come back stronger than ever the next words the girl spoke stopped the voices dead in their tracks.
"That's so cool. I love blood. I think it looks really cute and pretty and I love the taste of it."
Now Izuku was really confused. This girl just said blood tasted good. What was wrong with her?
She looked at his hand as she asked the next question.
Can I?" she cut off any thoughts he may have had after she asked the question, he assumed she meant to clean it so of course he replied simply.
"Sure, go ahead."
Her golden eyes lit up at the statement as she cut the distance between her and his hand in less than a second after getting close to his hand she grabbed it and then lucked the blood off his index finger.
Izuku was shocked he retracted his hand as fast as he could but before he could say anything else he noticed the look on her face, It could only be described as pure unfiltered joy.
"Fantastic, it tasted wonderful though I kinda wanted it all."
Izuku froze. This girl wanted to lick all the blood off his hand. Was she crazy or something who wants to lick someone else's blood?
The green haired boy didn't even realise that the voices were gone. They stopped, was this girl why, he had to find out but the only way to do that was to let her lick the rest of it, as much as he didn't want her too if he wanted to stop the voices he had no other choice in the matter.
He handed his fist back to her.
"Y-You can have it."
Her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree almost instantly her mouth covered his hand licking all the blood up like a leach.
3 minutes passed as they both sat there in silence yet again she removed her mouth with a popping sound as she was done the colour red still stained his hand but the crimson coloured liquid was mostly gone before they got the chance to start talking again the bell rang signalling the end of lunch.
Izuku froze; he couldn't just walk into this other school, at least he didn't think he could.
Toga grabbed his hand as she pulled him into the school.
"Come on we're gonna be late" she said as she dragged him inside.
As they approached the entrance Izuku's nerves shot through the roof as he was really just about to walk into a new school and act like none of this ever happened. Izuku was stopped just before they got inside one of the teachers noticed that they didn't remember seeing him before.
"What class are you in?" the towering giant asked the small pea as nicely as someone with a voice as deep as his could.
Before he could even say anything Toga spoke up to the teacher.
"Midorira is my friend."
First, that wasn't his name. It was close sure but wasn't 100% there. Second, that didn't answer his question at all and Third they literally just met like 15 minutes ago and yet this girl was proclaiming them as friends.
The teacher looked worried as he stared at the boy, Toga wasn't about to let go of him anytime soon.
"Okay well your friend needs to come with me to the office so we can learn where he came from."
"No!" Toga exclaimed toward the teacher.
"He stays with me, I won't leave him!" she continued shouting at anyone who walked past them.
"You can come too then but we need him in the office."
She thought about it for a second as she came to a decision.
"Okay." The fire in her voice was gone as she basically skipped along to the office with Izuku in tow.
As they sat in a seat outside the office Toga still clinging to him for dear life the teachers inside the office talking about Izuku and what had happened the teacher from earlier came out and approached the two children as calmly as possible.
"So we've called your school and they're coming to get you and bring you back."
The pit in Izuku's stomach increased with the information he just learned and the teacher seemed to take notice of this as he quickly changed the subject.
"So Midorira, what do you want to do when you grow up?"
"My name's Midoriya and I want to be a hero."
"Well to be a hero you must have an amazing quirk."
The voices slowly returned as the teacher said that.
"I-I-I don't actually have a quirk." he said as quietly as possible hoping Toga didn't hear him.
"Whaaaaat!" Toga yelled at his response.
The voices returned to how loud they were before he met Toga the last thing he expected to happen came to pass though.
"That's soooo cool!"
The voices once again disappeared from Izuku's mind as Toga continued.
"My quirk is related to blood so people don't really talk to me." Toga replied with a hint of sadness in her voice.
And that was the first time Izuku heard a single sentence that explained every question he had.
Before he could reply back to her the door at the end of the office opened as one of his teachers and his mum walked into the school, upon seeing him his mum ran towards him and embraced him like she hadn't seen him in over a year.
"I'm so glad you're okay Izuku." his mum said.
The teachers started talking to one another but Izuku didn't care what they said to each other. The only person he cared to listen to was his mum.
"Let's get you home you've been through a lot today."
As she tried to pull Izuku away to take him home to safety, an unknown resistance held him back. His mother turned to see what it was. The first thing she saw was a blonde young girl with tears welling up in her eyes. Toga pulled Izuku back into her, hugging him as hard as she could.
"NO GREENIES MINE!" She yelled at everyone.
The only thought Izuku had was that she fully forgot his name. It went from Midorira to Greenie. How the hell did that happen?
The teacher from Toga's school stepped in to stop her but Inko got in his way as she extended a hand to her son and the young girl next to him.
"Can I please have Izuku back? He's been through a lot today and needs his rest but I'll bring him back tomorrow how about it."
The young blonde seemed to think about this deal for a good few minutes as she decided that it would be best to do things the green lady's way.
She reluctantly freed Izuku from her grasp as the tears started fading.
"Deal." She replied simply.
"Thank you."
As the two Midoriya's made their way back home they didn't talk about Bakugo or anything at his school for the whole day.
That night
By the time Izuku had to try to sleep he found himself feeling guilty at what he had done to the poor blond boy.
Trying to free himself from the guilt he went on his house's computer and watched the All Might video he loved to watch as he stared at the screen he saw a old video dating back to before quirks were a thing and saw a thing called Free running he was quickly engrossed by the subject he saw on the screen. An hour had passed before he even noticed the only dragging him back to reality was the sound of the door behind him opening. He turned to see his mother standing in the doorway still wiping the sleep out of her eyes as she peaked in.
"Izuku what are you doing on the computer at this time you should be in bed." She said groggily.
"Mum I want to do Fre Runing." he replied energetically even though he didn't know how to say it.
His mum saw how happy he looked and saw it on the computer. She smiled at his quick recovery from the last few days glad that her son was back to the happy kid he used to be.
"Yes. Yes you can do free running." she said a slight tear popping up in her eye which she quickly wiped away.
Just before Izuku could start celebrating his mum cut it short by saying.
"But not tonight you've got quite a lot to do tomorrow."
He was quite tired so it made sense to listen to his mum. So he got back in bed and tried to sleep.
Unlike the night before the voices weren't there anymore instead the thought of doing free running and his new friend Toga were all he thought about as he fell asleep that night. Smiling.
Red shoes slammed into a puddle with full force causing a massive jump in the water. Quickly coming to a stop to watch a fight between the heroes and a villain, but before he could get to the good part his friend bumped him on the shoulder as she ran past him.
"Cmon Izuku try to keep up, we're gonna be late!" The blonde girl excitedly said to him.
"Yeah yeah we both know I'm faster than you Himiko" the green haired teen said as he raced to catch up with her albeit it was a bit easy for the free runner.
