CHAPTER 2

As Midoriya overtakes Toga he mocks her for being slower than him.

"C'mon we're gonna be late." He says trying his best to make a Toga impression.

"Ya know for a 15 year old you're rather childish don't you think so?" Toga said with a hint of sass in her tone.

"Oh really I couldn't tell." Midoriya replied as sarcastically as he could.

Midoriya ran ahead of her to get closer to the school before they were late. Izuku could see the school gates just in front of him. He turned back to see Toga still quite a bit behind him; he sometimes forgot how fast he was in comparison to others, he stopped just before he entered the school waiting for her to catch up.

"C'mon weren't you the one that told me we were going to be late." Izuku said with a massive grin on his face.

"Funny." She replied as she slowed to an almost stop.

As they walked through the front gate of Aldera Junior High. The sound of a bell boomed throughout the school signalling for them to get to class. As they walked up the stairs they could hear murmurs coming from the people around them.

"I heard Izuku beat the shit out of Bakugo in elementary school."

"I heard he killed an entire gang of dangerous villains because they looked at him funny."

"He's actually kinda hot if only he wasn't so violent."

"Toga's a 10/10 honestly if she wasn't dating that bastard Midoriya would totally shoot my shot."

"I know right, if only she wasn't completely insane I would definitely smash."

"Shut up if Izuku hears you, the least you would lose is an eye and that's if you were extremely lucky."

These were only a few of the many rumours flying around about these two. The voices seemed to fade into the background as they saw Bakugo at the end of the hallway walking into the same classroom they had to, at the sight of him Izuku felt nervous after all he was the reason Bakugo had a massive scar at the bridge of his nose right in between his eyes

"It's okay, he hasn't bothered you since that day." Toga said as if to reassure him.

"I know but it's just everytime I see his scar I feel so guilty about it." Izuku said, looking down and shame filling his voice.

"I'm sure he feels the same" Toga mumbled out that bit, hoping Izuku didn't hear.

Class was boring like usual. The only thing that made it interesting is Toga's leg twitching, meaning they had to do "that" at lunch as Izuku looked at his left hand with the bandage over his palm. The teacher seemed to notice this and asked.

"Is your hand still hurting?"

"Uh-Just a little but that happens when wounds can't heal you know." Izuku replied rather nervously.

Lunchtime rolled around as slowly as normal but when it started Toga leaped up from her seat grabbing Izuku and pulling him out of the classroom heading toward the back of the school dodging everyone around them as they made their way through the school.

Upon getting there they made sure nobody was around, then they got started Izuku removed the bandage from his left hand while at the same time Toga pulled out a small pocket knife she carried around with her Izuku took the knife with no words being said from either of the teens Izuku looked at his now scarred hand with multiple lines shooting across it from different cuts that were made over time. Izuku began to cut into one of the almost healed wounds on his hand and as the blood started flowing he gave Toga his hand. Upon getting said hand she moved it up to her mouth as she began drinking the crimson water gushing out of his hand the look of pure joy and peacefulness breaking out onto her face.

30 seconds passed of her just drinking his blood then she stopped as she pulled out a first aid kit from her bag she looked him in the eye as she applied the bandage exactly like the one he had removed.

"You okay?" She was worried about him as he didn't even flinch when the knife cut into him.

"Yeah I've just gotten used to the pain." He said with as big of a smile as he could muster.

"Just be sure to tell me if you don't want to do it anymore." She said as shame filled her eyes and words.

"We both know that won't happen." He replied as he placed his hand on her shoulder.

Toga has an addiction to blood due to her quirk, the result of this being her family rejecting her because they think she's disturbing Izuku, though welcomed her with open arms. The majority of days she'll stay at his place with him and Inko though at least once a month she has to pop into her parents house to prove she isn't dead cause that would "look bad" her sick bastard of a father had the audacity to say that.

Inko knew about Toga's addiction but thought she had gotten over it.

As for the cut on Izuku's hand he told his mother who told the school that he had an encounter with a villain with a quirk that makes wounds never heal which they all believed as they all knew Izuku and Toga would always go looking for villain fights.

The rest of the day was as uneventful as any other though Toga did have to return home today for her parents to see her alive and kicking.

"I'll see you at home." She said sadness clearly showing on her face as she hated going back to that prison.

"Yeah." Izuku replied, angry that he can't do anything to help her.

As he started walking home on his own he walked under a small bridge as was his usual path home, he walked over a manhole but thought nothing of it until he took a few more steps past the hole then heard a CRASH from behind him that sent him jumping as a sludge man flew out from the manhole.

"Jesus man you can't just do that to a guy you almost gave me a heart attack." Izuku said, trying to sound somewhat funny.

The man wasn't amused as he grabbed the boy taking him into the sludge.

Izuku didn't have any time to fight back as he was being suffocated by the weird sludge man.

"Sorry kid but I really need a good hiding spot from "Him."" the man said with fear and rage in his voice.

Was this all he was going to do in life, be a hiding spot for a villain as he thought about fighting the voices suddenly appeared again.

"Don't even try you're not strong enough without a quirk you're useless, you filthy quirkess piece of shit."

The words hurt more than anything else he had ever heard. they were far more intense than when he was a kid. The pain rendered him almost useless… but at least he was going to be useful to someone…

Right?

As that thought passed through him he pictured those he cared about, his mother and Toga he couldn't just leave them just the thought about them crying because of his weakness. The thought of that pushed him to try to free himself from the freak.

His eyesight was going red with rage and his will to not die flared up. To be a hero no matter what.

His muscles tensed and tightened as his strength rushed into his arm. His veins started popping out as he pulled at his right arm with as much force as the teenager could muster.

"AHHHHHHH!!" The muffled screams of the teen echoed through the short tunnel .

He managed to yank his arm out sending quite a bit of the sludge flying in the process using his free hand he grabbed the sludge around his face and began pulling after a very small amount of resistance he managed to free his face as he took the deepest breath of his life he pulled the rest of his body out from the villain.

After getting out he turned around to face the sludge monster.

"Like fuck am I gonna let a piece of shit like you kill me!"

As those words passed through his teeth the manhole shot back into the air a mass of muscle pulled it's way out of it.

"Fear not child, for I am here."

All Might appeared in front of the two. Izuku almost broke down into a stuttering mess as his favourite hero just came to his rescue meanwhile the villain was panicked beyond belief.

All Might took a step toward the sludge monster as he raised his fist into the air cocking it back.

"DETROIT SMASH!" All Might exclaimed as he drove his fist forward, the sludge man blown into hundreds of little blobs all over the place.

Izuku was completely taken aback by the sheer power of the swing; it had taken his all just to free himself from the monster's grasp yet All Might managed to destroy the monster without even touching it.

"Is that really you All Might" The words that left his mouth were words he never thought he would say

"Why yes, yes it is" All Might replied as his voice boomed out towards the young teen who was left speechless that his idol was right in front of him he had so many questions but not enough time in the day for All Might to answer them

"Shit I need to get away from the boy before I lose my form in front of this kid" All Might thought as he started steaming not wanting to ruin this kids happiness by showing him his idol isn't the unstoppable beast that people think he is

"Can I get your autograph!" Izuku said as excitedly as a child.

"Already done." Izuku then looked into his notebook and like the man said the autograph was on the front page.

"OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH ALL MIGHT YOU HAVE IDEA WHAT THIS MEANS TO ME!" Izuku shouted that at the hero.

"Well I should really get going, you know, villain and all." All might told the young fanboy.

"Huh uh wait, I have so many questions." Izuku said, slightly panicking as he did.

"Well save them for next time." All Might said to the panicked teen.

"Wait no." Izuku said, leaping towards the hero as he blasted toward the sky.

Next thing he knew Izuku was in the air clinging to All Might like if he stopped he would die (well he would but that's besides the point) All Might tried to push him off his leg while saying something but the air in Izuku's ears stopped him from hearing the hero, as they started the descend from the sky Izuku's fear of death quickly faded when they landed All Might was about to take off again before Izuku managed to stop him.

"Please I just have one question." All Might stopped so Izuku continued.

"My entire life I've suffered trying to reach a goal that I know is almost impossible for me. Even those around me made that clear. Apart from my friend who believed in me even when I started to lose hope she would catch me and pull me back up but recently it's been really hard to keep going like it's all pointless you know so the question that I want to ask, no I have to know is. Can I be a hero even without a quirk that I can call my own? " Izuku finished his question, eyes closed hoping for the answer he's been waiting his entire life for… after a long amount of silence he had enough staying quiet he looked up towards the greatest hero of all time to see a skinny, crooked man standing where the number one hero used to be.

"Wa-ah-uh where did All Might go." Izuku said, his head spinning like it's on a pike, looking for the tall blond man.

"He's right here." The skinny man replied as groggily as humanly possible.

"Huh no way no no no no there's no way you're All Might." Izuku said more panicked than when All Might was actually here.

"Yes kid there is a way I am All Might, the greatest hero, The symbol of peace, for 3 hours a day at least." he said taking a seat on the edge of the rooftop they were on "a few years ago I got into a fight with a villain that left me with a horrid injury." the man said as he pulled up his shirt revealing a hold in his stomach as the sight made Izuku want to vomit as the injury ranged from a hole to cracks going off in every direction on the man's chest "so due to this injury I can only hold my hero form for about 3 hours a day" he said hiding any emotion from the boy trying to reassure him his hero isn't dead.

"Anyway about the question you asked" he said Izuku feeling his sickness disappearing as his want for an answer took over.

"No. I don't think you can be a hero without a quirk." as he said this Izuku's world became dark All Might was still talking but Izuku couldn't hear him it was just noise was all the work he put in throughout the years worth it or was it just a waste was everything Toga said to him a lie the voices shouted him more aggressive than ever before as he stood there listening to what they have to say the only thing that took out of his stupor was an a massive BOOM coming from a little bit away a villain was attacking somewhere Izuku got ready to run on down so he could analyse but then remembered that it was pointless he looked around for All Might on the roof but he was nowhere to be found did he leave and Izuku not notice probably so following where he thinks the great hero went he started making his way down the stairs and before he knew it he reached the bottom walking out onto the streets he looked around for some reason to go home to do anything right now more than anything else he wanted to die.

As he stood still questioning everything, he felt a tug on his arm. He turned to look at said tug to see Toga standing next to him basically clinging to him.

"Hey Izuku, what are you doing here? Your house isn't nearby whatsoever." she asked confused

"Oh nothing really just got lost." he replied, never taking his eyes off the ground.

"Oh Okay then how about we go see the villain fight nearby?" she replied to him noticing he was feeling down and trying to change the subject.

"Sure." was the only word she got.

As they arrived at the scene Izuku still looked down now when Toga realised something was wrong. Nothing makes Izuku happier than when he's watching heroes at work, as they watched the conflict unfold, Toga noticed something.

"That boy, isn't that Bakugo? " she said almost as if she was asking Izuku who's eyes suddenly shot up towards the fight as she said that.

It was. Its was definitely Bakugo and that's the sludge villain that attacked him but didn't All Might capture him, as he thought that he then remembered the bottles weren't in his pocket when they were on the rooftop, he must have dropped out during the flight, wait they were in the pocket Izuku latched onto that means this is Izuku's fault the villain would be behind bars by now if only he hadn't grabbed All Might.

"Useless, you stopped the number 1 hero from capture. You pull everyone around you down. JUST DIE!"

The guilt and anger at himself built up, sparked up like a fire inside him, the voices yelling at him to just die to end it, all these thoughts eating away at him until he saw it.

The look in Bakugo's eyes. He was scared at that moment, all the anger, all the rage, everything faded. The only things he felt were his feet hitting the ground faster and faster as he pushed his way through the crowd.

And a burning feeling telling him to save his friend.

"Izuku wait!" Toga yelled from behind him but he didn't stop, no he couldn't stop he bolted past the heroes heading straight for his childhood friend and the villain.

"You again argh, I'll kill you this time for sure you little shit!" he yelled towards Izuku as he swung at him.

But Izuku saw it coming he telegraphed the swing making it easy to dodge as the monster's attack inched ever forward Izuku rolled under the sludge man's arm the swing having too much force behind it as his arm was now stuck in a building beside him.

Izuku reached his friend and grabbed the sludge around his mouth, yanking it off. The blond boy managed to take a few breaths in before he shouted at his classmate.

"Izuku, what the hell are you doing?" he spoke with a fire in his voice.

"I couldn't just watch you die, Kacchan!" he said as he tried to pull Bakugo's arm out of the sludge man.

"Now stop using that god forsaken quirk of yours for one second and just use your strength!" Izuku demanded.

As the blond did as the green haired teen told him to, he managed to get himself free from the villain's grasp.

"Good, now blast us out of here" Izuku ordered Bakugo to do

Bakugo clicked his tongue he didn't like taking orders but given the situation he decided to do as he was told for once as Izuku grabbed on Bakugo raised his hands and fired his quirk off hitting the wall the villain was stuck in and shooting those two out of the fight the villain now free turned to the two boys and swung his fist at them.

"If I'm going down then you two are coming with me!" He shouted.

They couldn't dodge as they were in the air even if Bakugo used is quirk it would shoot them down due to the recoil of his last explosion seeing this Izuku made a split second decision, he threw Bakugo to the side out of the villains way, he was okay with this outcome though, Bakugo would survive and hopefully Izuku would be born again with a quirk as he accepted his fate he closed his eyes hoping it would be fast but the hit never came as his ass slammed into the ground he opened his eyes to see All Might standing in front of the sludge villain blocking the hit.

"All Might!" Izuku said with hope and happiness in his tone.

"How dare I stand at the side while this weak, quirkless child rushes in with zero regard for his own safety." He said quieter than his normal hero voice.

"I didn't rush in, all because of a pathetic limit, what a hero am I huh." his voice was still quieter but getting louder.

"Fear not young boys for I am here!" All Might now booming his words toward the teens and the crowd around them, then quickly turning his attention to the villain.

Shooting his quirk through arm he pushes his right arm out of the sludge sending it all flying, he pulled his arm back ready to swing toward the villain.

"DETROIT, SMASH!" The pro hero exclaimed as we barrelled his fist at the villain, as he did all the flames on the buildings around them extinguished as a massive gust of wind appeared on top of where the villain used to be standing as he was now covering the entire area, all the other heroes, civilians, and news crew stood still, all of them amazed by the number 1 hero. After the wind had died down it started to rain, All Might changed the weather with a single punch he made it rain the amazement in everyone's face quickly turned to shock at seeing how much power their symbol has. All Might raised his right hand as he slightly stumbled backwards catching himself before anyone could notice.

Izuku had no time to be shocked as he felt a weight crushing down on him from behind he turned to see Toga clinging to him, she then looked him up and down for any injuries after she was done she slapped him.

"What the hell is wrong with you Izuku you could've gotten yourself hurt or even killed why would you run in like that." she yelled at the recoiling boy before he had a chance to say anything back she started back up again.

"Oh my GOD look it's All Might we're really big fans of yours." She switched the subject in a matter of seconds as All Might started talking to Toga, though Izuku got called out by the other heroes for rushing in like that.

"Why would you do that! You do how dangerous villains are right? And you're not even allowed to use your quirk. That was the stupidest thing I've seen all day, kid." the heroes Death Arms and Kamui Woods yelled at him.

And like before he didn't get a chance to speak up as Bakugo forced his way into the conversation.

"Izuku I didn't need your help I had that guy on my own." He yelled at the green haired teen and yet again he couldn't say anything as Toga butted in yelling at Bakugo.

"Yeah like hell you had that guy you were crying your eyes out." she said with as much of a fire in her voice as Bakugo had but before anyone got to talk All Might spoke out.

"All right, leave the kid alone. He saved the hostage and got out safely." All Might said toward the other heroes berating them for ganging up on a kid.

"As for you, you stepped in with no regard for your own safety to save a person in trouble and didn't even use a quirk while doing it." He said toward Izuku while feigning ignorance to his quirklessness.

"He actually doesn't have a quirk." Toga added

"Quirk or no quirk this kid has the heart of a hero." All Might said as he extended his hand to the quirkless boy offering to help him up.

A smile stretched across the hero wannabe's face as he reached out and took the hero's hand.

From a rooftop nearby stood a hooded figure watching everything go down as the person licked their lips as if they just found a delicious meal.

"Is it finally time they see you just as I do, Izuku~" The feminine voice said, looking down towards the heroes and the kids.

An Hour Later on the way back home.

As Toga and Izuku were walking home like normal, both were still not quite relaxed from what happened early.

All of a sudden All Might appeared from around a corner now standing in front of the two teens he looked toward them both as steam started to roll off his body he asked.

"Young man may I speak to you alone please." All Might requested of the two teens who both seemed shocked that the number 1 hero in the world wanted to speak to Midoriya alone.

"Uhh yeah you go right ahead and do that I'll go wait right around this corner." Toga said turning a corner to someone's house that was not Izuku's.

As more steam exited the hero, he released his buff form revealing the smaller man to Izuku who still seemed stunned at the fact that the hero he idolised wasn't always as buff as the media made him seem to be.

"Sorry about that kid but I need to talk with you alone." All Might said with a stoic voice.

"No, No it's fine I'm sure Toga understands." Izuku told the older man reassuring him that she won't mind.

"Anyway I need to have a talk with you, young man, about earlier." All Might said looking almost disappointed completely opposite of early when he praised the kid for his actions.

"What you did was very reckless and even stupid." He said as Izuku recoiled at his words.

Of course. Of course he would be disappointed he knows Izuku doesn't have a quirk yet he still ran in to help someone that was the dumbest thing anyone could do and here he was facing the consequences of running in as the voices came back to the same degree as before he wanted to cry, for the first time in years he wanted to cry he fell to his knees tears welling up in his eyes.

"But I could tell exactly what happened, your body moved on its own, you couldn't stop yourself, you just ran in and that's the mark of a great hero. So I'll give you that chance, the chance that this world didn't give to you. I'll give you my quirk." All Might told the young boy.

What did he say he'll do? Quirks can't be given out, your quirk is yours not anyone else's so what is All Might talking about.

"My quirk is unique. Its name is One for All. It's a power passed down from person to person, getting stronger as it goes. I am the eighth user and I've picked you as the ninth." All Might said.

Tears were now flowing down Izuku's face. After all his hard work he was finally getting the chance, a real chance to be a hero. The silence between the two was interrupted by a girl's voice coming from nearby.

"WHAT!" Toga yelled at the two who both looked surprised by her presence.

"Crap Toga was seeing All Might's true form." Izuku was freaking out in his mind but All Might seemed calm about it.

"Yeah I expected this at some point." All Might said, sighing as he did, still being as calm as normal.

"You can give Izuku a quirk!" Toga freaked out at the realization that Izuku could have a quirk soon.

As All Might extended his hand toward the young boy.

"If you want the quirk, take my hand, Take my quirk."

As tears continued down his face he reached his hand toward All Might's, taking it with conviction and happiness that someone other than Toga believes in him despite all the odds.

Toga was also as happy as Izuku because someone other than her sees his potential as a hero.

"All right, well then I should probably tell you two about my quirk." All Might said as he began.

"My quirk called One for All is a quirk that gets passed down from person to person, getting stronger as it goes. As I said to the young man, the quirk should be passed to those who

have the heart of a hero, and I've seen said heart inside this young boy." All Might told the two teens.

Midoriya was shocked this was not an opportunity given to everyone, he was the only person who had this offer by All Might himself, an offer he was not about to refuse given this might be his only chance to be a hero as great as All Might.

"Yeah, Yeah I'll take your quirk" Izuku said back to the skinny blond man.

A smile broke out on everyone's faces.

Little did any of them know what the future would hold.
