It's been three years…

Three years since I last saw Inuyasha…

I stand by the well resting my arms on it, looking down.

I've done this everyday since then, having that small glimmer of hope…hope that I can go back and see him.

Although everyday that passes, makes me wonder if I'm ever meant to see him again.

After all the reason that I went to the Feudal Era was to destroy the Shikon Jewel, so maybe because we did that, I'm not allowed to see him?

Fate is cruel…

So cruel…

I look down into the well.

"What did I do wrong? Why can't I see you?" I talk into the well, like it was a person.

I sigh and pray, pray that I can see him.

All of a sudden I feel something, something different maybe? Like a gentle breeze from the well.

I open my eyes and look down as I see the sky, a way to get back to the Feudal Era perhaps…a chance to see him?

A few moments later I hear footsteps behind me.

I turn around to see my mother standing there. "Mom?"

She looked down into the well, standing next to me and sighed.

"Mom…I've…I've been thinking…" I try to get my thoughts straight. I'm overwhelmed.

I feel my mothers grip pull me closer into a soft but meaningful hug. She understood what it meant and gave me full permission to go.

She just wants me to be happy.

And seeing Inuyasha would make me more than happy.

I nod at her and hug her again as tears try to fall from my eyes.

I say my goodbyes to my mother. After all she is the reason I am the way I am today, and I know I'll miss her the most.

I climb up onto the wells edge and jump down it.

I see the familiar light at the end of the well. I'm really going back?

All of a sudden it's quiet and the sounds of chirping birds coming from the place outside the well.

I climb up the vines I was so used to climbing up a few years ago.

As I get to the top, I see a hand reaching out to grab me.

A very familiar clawed hand I held a few years back.

I took that hand and the next minute I know I'm face to face with him…

With Inuyasha.

Tears threaten to poor out of my eyes as he holds me above him.

"I'm sorry Inuyasha…we're you waiting for me?" I ask him, smiling.

He looks at me and says my name.

How I have longed for him to say my name to me.

I feel my body being pulled into his tight embrace. He looks shocked, almost wondering if it's a dream.

"What have you been doing all this time?" I hear him ask me.

I can't even say anything I'm so happy he's here…I'm here with Inuyasha…

All of a sudden I hear the voices of my other friends I've gotten to know and love along our journey from searching for Naraku and Jewel shards.

"Kagome you're back!" I hear Sango say.

"It's been much to long!" Miroku answered.

I greet them with a smile on my face. "I'm really back…"

We walk back to the village to greet Kaede and the others.

"My, Kagome it looks like ye have returned?" Kaede asks me.

"Yes, I have. I'm more than happy to be back, this is my new home now." I smile.

Kaede grabs my hands. "Ye are not able to return to the other world? Won't ye miss your family, child?"

I look at our hands. "Yes, I will miss them dearly, but I missed my family here, and I'm ready to start a new life with them." I smile.

Kaede let's go if my hands. "Very well child. Come, let's sit and talk some more shall we? I'll make dinner tonight."

I shake my head. "Oh, you don't have to do all that!"

"No no I must. This is special for us too." Kaede says, making dinner.

I sit down while the rest of my friends do the same.

"I see much has changed since I've been gone. Would you mind telling me?"

"Oh! I'm in fox demon training! I'm going to become a strong demon!" Shippo pipes up.

I laugh, he still hasn't changed.

I look over at Sango and Miroku. "And who are these bundles of joy?"

"Kagome, this is Kin'u, Gyuokuto, and Hisui, our kids." Sango replies.

"Awww! Miroku, Sango, they're adorable. You two have raised a beautiful family!" I smile.

I see light blushes appear on their face.

I look over at Inuyasha. "And what about you?" I smile.

"Well, not much…Miroku and I have been taking up demon slaying jobs around here."

I missed hearing his voice. He's really speaking softly, not his usual brash tone.

I smile. "I'm glad I'm back…I really am, I've missed you guys a lot."

My friends smile and agree.

"And I'm sure one person in particular, right Inuyasha?" I hear Miroku tease and elbow him on the shoulder.

I see Inuyasha turn is head away and pout.

Well I'm glad he's still normal, it's almost like I haven't been away at all, seeing as how they all act the same. Maybe there hasn't been much.

I hear the curtain flap open and Rin walk inside. "Hello Kaede, I'm back!" Rin greets herself as she walks through the door.

I smile seeing her.

"Oh my, Kagome you've returned! I'm so happy to see you!" Rin gives me a hug.

"Aww, Rin it's good to see you too! How's Sesshomaru?" I hug her back.

She breaks the hug after a minute and sits next to me. "Well you've missed out on a lot, so you're probably wondering why I'm

in the village in the first place, mind telling her Kaede?" Rin asks politely.

"No I don't, child. Kagome, Sesshomaru has decided to leave young Rin here in the human village so one day she can choose wether or not she wants to go with Sesshomaru and live with a demon, or live in a human village where there are more of her kind." I listen as Kaede explains.

"Ahh, yes I get it! Rin if you ever need help choosing or have questions about that stuff let me know." I smile at Rin.

"Yes Kagome, I will!"

Soon dinner is ready as we all grab some food and start eating.

"Is there still more I should know?" I ask.

"No, you've pretty much got everything!" I hear Sango say.

I smile and start eating before an idea pops into my head. "Kaede, is there anything I can do around here?" I ask.

I see her look up at me. "I'm sure we can find you something, but you've just gotten back, don't you want to get settled first?"

I smile. "Yes of course, but I mean after? Everyone here seems to have jobs and I want one too. I have these spiritual powers, I can train." I smile.

I see Kaede do the same. "Ye want to become a priestess?"

"Yes, since I'm staying here, it would be a wonderful job." I smile at her.

"Aye child. Ye want to become a priestess, I shall help you." Kaede says smiling.

"Oh thank you Kaede. It means so much!"

Soon we finished dinner, just as it was getting late.

"Thank you Kaede for doing so much for me! I'll see you tomorrow?" I ask.

"Yes child, go get some rest now." Kaede said waving off.

All of a sudden it hit me…

Where was I going to sleep?

I hear Sango and Miroku say their goodbyes and head off to their hut with their kids.

I see Inuyasha walk up to me. "Kagome, follow me."

I look at him questionably. "Where do I sleep?"

"Keh, where do you think?" I hear him pout.

I sigh. "I'm not sure honestly."

I see us walk up to a hut. "Is this yours Inuyasha?"

"Yeah? So what?"

"Hey don't get an attitude with me, I was just asking jeez!" I sigh. He really hasn't changed.

I hear him sigh and let out a frustrated growl. "Hey, umm sorry, but I built this because if you ever came back, I wanted you to have a home with me. If that's okay?"

I blush by his words. "Of course I'd live with you, Inuyasha."

His face lights up a little. "Mhm, let's go inside?"

I smile and walk inside. It wasn't big, but it was big for us. I don't even care where we are, as long as I'm with him, and Inuyasha knows that perfectly."

He climbs up into bed and lays down.

I smile and start to get on the floor.

"Woah, what are you doing?" He asks me looking at me on the floor.

"Going to bed?" I look at him.

He climbs out of bed and picks me up. "Inuyasha what're you…"

"Silly woman, you're not sleepin' on the damn floor. You're going to get comfortable on a bed." He tells me.

I feel tense. "In a bed with Inuyasha?"

He turns to me and grabs my hands softly. "Hey you're tense is everything okay?"

I nod a bit.

"Hey, relax Kagome. It's okay." He tries to reassure me.

I relax a little bit and soon get fully comfortable. This isn't like the Inuyasha I know, not the rude, and brash arrogant jerk I'm always around. This must me the sweet side of him, the caring side of him I've only seen a few times throughout our adventures.

"Kagome…you're here right? This isn't a dream?"

I shake my head. "No Inuyasha I'm really here."

He sighs. "The last thing I remember is kissing you and then you left."

I blush. I remember that.

"Yeah, that's the last thing I remember too." I sit up.

I feel him sit up next to me.

"Did you…ever think about me…?" I hear him ask, almost in a whisper.

"Yes…everyday…" I smile.

I hear him chuckle. "I thought about you everyday too…"

I laugh a little too. "I'm glad…" My smile leaves as I start feeling sad.

All of a sudden I throw my arms around him. "I missed you…I missed you so much Inuyasha…" I say through my crying.

I know he was surprised about the hug at first, but he soon wrapped his strong arms around me and whispered many reassuring things into my ears.

I lean back as I wipe my tears away and a smile appears on my face, as his hand is cupping my cheek.

All of a sudden I look into his eyes which are looking into mine and I feel drawn in.

"Kagome?" I hear him say softly.

I smile knowing he doesn't want me to answer. He just wants me to look at him.

I feel him drawing me near his face until our lips are centimeters apart, our eyes half closed.

"I love you…" I hear him say.

I smile. "I love you too."

I feel his mouth on mine as he holds my hand.

This moment needed no words. Just the moving of our mouths and our body's was enough to tell each other how much we missed each other.

He lets me go and looks at my face. I look at his.

I want him to keep going…

I lean back in and capture his lips with mine as we move back and forth.

I feel him nibble my lip a moment later as I open my mouth a little.

"It's okay…" He mumbles against my lips before slipping his tongue into my mouth.

I blush and hold still not knowing what to do.

"Kagome just move with me, you ain't bad at all…" He whispers to me again before slipping his tongue into my mouth.

I do as he says and follow his movements. It's not bad at all, he tastes delicious.

He leans back and I feel myself getting pushed onto the bed as I feel him getting over me.

I've always wanted him over me like this…

"Yasha…" I catch his lips with mine again as our tongues slide into each other's mouths again.

"I like it when you call me that Kags…" He tells me.

"I like it when you call me that." I laugh a little against his lips.

Our kiss grows deeper, more exciting and passionate than the others. I feel myself getting hot in my clothing and on the verge of taking them off.

"Kagome…what is it that you want?" I hear Inuyasha ask me

I smile. "To be with you…as your lover…"

He smiles. "I want that too…and we can have it."

I blush. I can't believe it. He wants me to be his person…the person he'll love forever.

I blush and pull him in again. "Yes Inuyasha…yes…"

I hear him smile against my slightly swollen lips from our kissing.

I love this feeling. I want more of it.

"Inuyasha…" I lean away from him.

"Hm?"

I want to say it but I'm scared, I want to be with him forever and this is one of the first steps in doing so.

"Inuyasha I want you to…I want you to make love to me…"

He smiles and wraps his arms around me. "I'll happily do that…because I want it too."

I smile and kiss him. I feel free, free to release the pain of those three years. I'm sure he's ready too.

"You've never done this before?" He asks me.

"No never, and you have never done this before either?" I ask him.

"Nope." He smiles.

"All I know is that it can hurt." I say. I've always been a little scared of that part, what girl hasn't?

He kisses me on the forehead as he starts taking off his robes. "I'll be gentle, extremely gentle."

I smile. Even during this moment he's protecting me.

I look at his face as he takes off the rest of his clothing. I don't want to look because that's perverted of me and I'll be too afraid to do that…although what we're doing now is a bit perverted anyways, so maybe he won't mind…?

I hear the last piece of fabric hit the floor as I open my eyes and look into his. "Kagome?"

"I'm okay!" I say rather loudly. I'm more embarrassed than okay though.

"Shhhh….I'm here…" Inuyasha says softly.

He's trying to make me feel better. That's sweet.

"Do you want me to take yours off?" He asks.

"Mhm…" I smile.

He starts with my shirt and pulls it over my head. I feel him looking at my breasts.

I shut my eyes and bask in the moment. This is the love of my life…I've dreamt of this…

I feel my skirt getting pulled off next.

I blush a little more, everything exposed except for my privates.

He tries to undo my bra but gives up as he can't seem to figure out how to unclip it.

I giggle and undo my bra and throw it on the floor.

"Hey don't laugh at me woman!" He grumbles.

"It was cute, Inu!" I laugh and rub his ears.

He sighs and leans into my touch.

I keep doing it for a minute and stop and look down at my panties.

I have a feeling that I want to cover myself, but I force that feeling down to let him look.

"Inuyasha…" I smile and blush.

He pulls the blankets over our wet bodies.

I smile as I look up into his gold eyes. The eyes I've longed to gaze back into these past three years.

"Kagome I love you…"

I smile as I see him start to doze off. That must've really warn him out.

I decide to try to fall asleep too, but not after saying the four words I've always wanted to say to him.

"I love you too."
