Miroku watched as InuYasha's eyes followed Kagome. She went to a small table close to the other side of the bar. This time she was wearing a short strapless cream colored dress that was two inches above her knees. Her hair was up in a messy bun, and Miroku wondered if InuYasha was going to cum right there. 'There's no doubt in my mind he hungers for her, just like an alcoholic hungers for liquor. Hell, even I'd drink from that glass.' Miroku thought, as he watched Kagome sit at the corner table.

It was only a few minutes after Kagome sat down, before he walked in. 'Damn him!' InuYasha cursed in his mind. Just the scent of the wolf made InuYasha's eyes turn slightly red. This didn't go unnoticed by Miroku and he feared the outcome at this point. There was no one at the bar at the time and without even knowing why himself. InuYasha simply lifted up the gate at the end of the bar and walked up to the wolf.

"Got a problem?" The wolf asked, almost growling.

InuYasha and the wolf both stared each other down before Kagome took the wolf by the arm. "Koga what's going on?" Kagome asked, even she could feel the tension between the two males. "Bartender has my date done something wrong or not?"

Miroku saw things were getting heated and decided to step in. "Okay InuYasha I think you've said enough." Miroku said, as tried to get between them. "Kagome was it? Could you get your friend to take a seat? I'll handle this one."

Kagome nodded and pulled Koga away from InuYasha. "Koga what was that all about?" There was great worry in her voice.

"I don't know Kagome, he just stepped in front of me. It was more like a battle over a mate to be honest." Koga allowed Kagome to lead him to his seat. Once there he snickered. Heh, funny to think a half breed would challenge a full blood wolf youkai over a woman."

"Really?" Kagome asked, surprised. "But why, I don't know the guy. I only saw him once when I came in to meet you on our first date. Why would he be interested in me when he doesn't even know me?"

Taking his seat, Koga chuckled. "Well that's easy, Kagome. Wolf youkai like me and Inu youkai like him fight for mates under normal circumstances. It doesn't matter if he knows you or not. You're a female and he's a male. The dominant male wins the woman or mate in this situation."

Koga started to relax a bit. He really had nothing to worry about. Him and Kagome had been dating for a whole week now. He had the upper hand in this relationship. Plus humans were different from youkai. They didn't go after a male looking for who was the strongest.

Kagome on the other hand was worried, she didn't like the idea of another male eyeing her up like fresh meat on a plate. 'Koga acts like it's nothing at all, but I'm scared this guy will look for me and kami knows what he'd do."

"Koga sighed after seeing Kagome's worried face. "You have nothing to worry about Kagome. What just happened between me and that mutt, is between guys. He sees me as his competition, but he has no real interest in you." Suddenly Koga had an idea. "You know if you're interested Kagome the owner of this bar is having a ceremony for his human bride. It might help you understand how things will be between us if we decide to get serious."

Kagome wasn't sure if she could believe Koga. They had only been on a few dates, but he seemed really nice. Always treating her with kindness and all but worshiping the ground she walked on. "Well I guess it couldn't hurt, I am interested in seeing something like that. I've heard it's rare that humans are allowed to see the ceremony."

Koga nodded "yes". As he looked to see where the idiot was who challenged him. "Yeah only those youkai who are invited and with a human lover can attend. Good thing you're my woman, Kagome."

Kagome wasn't sure if she'd call herself Koga's lover. They hadn't even gone that far yet. A few kisses and some roaming hands, but nothing intimate like sexual intercourse had happened. And right now Kagome wasn't sure if she wanted to go that far. 'Maybe after I learn more about this ceremony between humans and youkai.'

Miroku made sure InuYasha was far away from Koga and Kagome. He could tell there was a strong youkai blood that flowed through InuYasha. One that could turn him into a full youkai at will. 'It's times like these I'm kinda glad I have some monk training behind me.' Miroku thought, as he watched his friend.

It was shortly after Kagome and Koga left that Miroku decided to talk with InuYasha. Most of the people had left the bar and a few workers were starting to set up the chairs for the night. "So mind telling why your youkai blood is so strong, even though you are a hanyou?" InuYasha didn't answer him and continued to clear up.

"There is a story I heard long ago about a youkai lord that took a human bride. However he did not follow the youkai ways. And in doing so the human gave birth to a hanyou with youkai blood. This blood was so strong it could kill the hanyou's very soul if left untamed."

Miroku glanced over and saw InuYasha was sweating and his body seemed to slightly tremble. He knew this wasn't normal for InuYasha. So he quickly moved and grabbed a sutra from his back pocket. 'It's a good thing I keep these on me.' Miroku thought, as he placed the sutra on InuYasha's back.

"Damn!" InuYasha cursed. He was starting to worry himself now. Never before had he felt his youkai blood surging through his veins like just now. "Thank you, Miroku…" InuYasha said, sounding out of breath. Even breathing was still hard to do. "This has never happened to me before, and it's even close to my time of weakness. Why is my blood boiling with such rage right now?"

Miroku himself felt lost on what to say, he knew little about InuYasha and only knew a little about the story he had just told. 'Could it be that you are the hanyou in the story, InuYasha?' Miroku thought, as he watched his new friend struggle to understand the situation too.

"Could it be that it's because of the woman? You seem attracted to her and let's not forget this is when everything started." Miroku might have said this to InuYasha. Still he knew this was surely the reason. Now the problem was how do you get InuYasha to admit it. Plus there was the fact the woman was with someone. There was no mistake about it. All of this was one huge mess at the moment.
