Title: The Hokage's Wife

Summary: When Sakura awakened, she found herself in another world as the Hokage's Wife–-a mere nuisance to him. Knowing that divorce was awaiting her due to the memories of herself in this world, she slept and ate all day while waiting for divorce. Unfortunately, things start to unravel faster than she expected.

Pink tresses were spread across the white bedsheets as the morning sun fluttered through the window pane. Her pale smooth skin was accentuated by the ultraviolet rays causing him to frown and swallow hard. His hardened blue eyes stared down at the sleeping woman who was legally his wife.

Her sleep had increased which lessened her constant chatter and attempts towards him. It was different from a month ago where her shamelessness knew no bounds. She knew that he hated her and that the entire village hated her, and she would often shed tears when she was alone. Now all she does is stay in the house, eat, and sleep. There was no time to chase him, nor embarrass herself further.

He was definitely relieved but it still bothered him that she has changed so drastically. He glared at her, his hate for her pouring out from his body. It was unfortunate that they ended up married and he couldn't marry the girl he needed to marry, and instead, he was stuck with the traitors' daughter because of a promise made long ago. He hated even being in the same house as her and often slept at his parent's house. He stared down at the girl once more before disappearing in a flicker of light.

When his presence was gone, Sakura's eyes opened almost immediately. She yawned, slowly getting up, and stretching her body. Her waist-length hair spilled over her shoulders as she looked out the window lazily. When she arrived in the body of Sakura Uzumaki with a new set of memories she never had, she was shocked but she was quick to assimilate as traversing worlds was not out of the ordinary for her.

This world was different somehow. It was hard for her to explain but it was like everyone in this world was more polished, more beautiful, even her own counterpart was more beautiful than her. Naruto was the biggest shock for her personally. Gone was his spiky hair and it was replaced with smooth silky well groom hair that fell around his face. His body was more muscular, and he was taller. His personality was the biggest change, which contributed to the slow descent of suffering her counterpart endured.

The other Sakura was pitifully and hopelessly in love with Naruto like she was with Sasuke, and like Sasuke, Naruto hated her to the very core. The entire village hated her because of her shameless, and public attempts to make Naruto love her. Not only that but she was able to marry the star bachelor of the village much to the disappointment of the villagers.

Sakura knew that her counterpart was hated even before she married Naruto because of her parents who were considered traitors to the village. Sadly, the other Sakura didn't know the reason for her parent's betrayal but she knew it must be something deeper. She had no clear intention of involving herself deeper into the other Sakura's troubles until she was free from this marriage where she could act more freely.

She was finally free from her stifling marriage to Sasuke, and though she will always miss her daughter, she was glad to be gone from that loveless marriage. Unfortunately, she was back in another marriage with someone she once and still loved dearly but it was clear he was different from the one she knew. She could easily subject herself to this marriage but she had enough of chasing after love. She wouldn't let love make her a fool again, especially not with a Naruto who was probably colder than Sasuke.

Things were far too gone for her to fix with him, so now she ate and slept while waiting for her divorce papers to come from him. He declared that he would divorce her last month much to the sadness of the other Sakura. She hated seeing the memories of the other Sakura begging him on her hands and knees while he looked down on her with hate. She didn't want to see her look-alike go through that sort of embarrassment, nor would she subject herself to it

When he wasn't home she would focus on increasing her chakra reserves and rebuilding her seal but an improved version she had worked on in the past. Her counterpart had never left the rank of genin, due to her chasing after Naruto, and she was considered a horrible ninja by all. Sakura pitied her counterpart but fortunately, the girl did train secretly on perfecting genjutsu to impress Naruto. Sakura was impressed when she received the memories of Sakura training on her own to create fantastic genjutsu that left her eager to try out in the future.

She slowly got out of the extremely comfortable bed in a pure white nightgown. She walked towards the door, pondering what to make for breakfast and before she could reach the door it was slammed open. The housemaid ran in with a panicked look.

"The master has been heavily injured in an assassination attempt. He is in the hospital right now undergoing surgery!" The maid said all in one breath before leaving just as promptly as she came in.

Sakura bit her lip in worry. It was only a few minutes that Naruto left and he was attacked? She would think that a village with the Uchiha police force would be more secure and This was extremely bad for him because the health care in this world was significantly worse than in her world and unfortunately, Tsunade didn't exist in this world, instead, she was replaced by another woman who long died. This makes someone with her level of medical knowledge rare.

She hadn't planned on exposing her medical knowledge at all until she was already divorced but it was Naruto whose life was in danger. She thought about it some more before rushing to put on some clothes. No one ever paid attention to her at all, especially Naruto, and the village hated her so her medical skills could be easily explained. With this reassurance, she rushed to the hospital to save her husband.

When she arrived at the hospital if you could call it that since it was no bigger than a clinic. The hospital was in chaos as nurses and doctors ran around frantically. Sakura glared at them in distaste before spotting someone surprising. She could see a worried-looking Hinata almost screaming at a doctor who looked distraught.

The Hinata of this world was breathtaking, she admitted to herself. However, she had a job to do and couldn't dwell on the milky-eyed girl for too long. Sakura walked up to them, and the moment Hinata noticed her she clamped up and simply glared at her.

"What is the status of my husband?" Sakura asked calmly, staring at the doctor.

The doctor looked at Hinata as if she was the wife instead before speaking. "The Hokage suffered a wound on his abdomen which was healed but the weapon that injured him was poisoned."

Sakura cursed, her hands automatically reaching towards her hair. She pulled her hair into a high ponytail, reminiscent of her old friend Ino. "Take me to him now!" Sakura bellowed, shocking both the doctor and Hinata.

Sakura, realizing that they both weren't moving walked past them and instead sensed Naruto's weakened chakra in a room that was closed. "Wait, Miss!" The doctor shouted but she ignored him pushed the doors open with great force, blowing the doors off the hinges

She found a group of doctors and nurses hovering over Naruto's body. "Move out of the way now!" Sakura rushed towards Naruto, pushing the doctors and nurses out of the way. She placed her hands over his chest, her hands glowing green as she tries to identify the poison in his body.

"What are you doing?!" The Head of the Hospital shouted, rushing towards her.

Sakura glared at him, directing her killing intent towards him, which made him stop in his tracks. She was playing a very dangerous game right now as she could sense multiple ANBU surrounding the room but they haven't made a move yet. She hadn't even noticed Naruto's parents at first who were hugging each other in the corner as they watched her intently. She didn't know why they didn't stop her but she was glad because her actions right now weren't out of the ordinary for the other Sakura

"If you don't listen to me right now, my husband could die, and if he does because of your obstructions I will destroy you." Sakura snarled before turning back to Naruto. She checked his heartbeat, saliva, and his symptoms, and concluded that this was the same poison Sasori used in her world. The only person who used this kind of poison was him. However, he attacked Konoha instead of Suna.

Sakura turned to the doctor. "Bring me these ingredients and tools right away!" She began listing off what she needed and the nurses obeyed immediately. When everything was gathered she was ready to begin the extracting process of removing the poison. It was a relief that this hospital was well stocked, surprisingly.

"This is going be very painful so I need you all to hold him down in case he wakes up!" Sakura shouted and the first persons to hold him were his parents; Minato and Kushina, followed by the nurses.

"Please," Kushina begged, looking at Sakura with tearful eyes, "save my son."

Sakura nodded before forming hand signs. She placed her hand in the bowl of medicinal liquid and when she removed her hand, a bubble was formed on her hand. She positioned her hands by the slits she made with her chakra and inserted the bubble.

Instantly, Naruto started to trash around. "HOLD HIM DOWN!" Sakura screamed as she started the arduous task of saving Naruto.

"Do as she says!" Minato shouted, glaring at the nurses and doctors who were useless.

Sakura began to pull out the poison with her next hand. The green bubble followed her movements and in the bubble, the poison was trapped. She heard gasps all around her but her sole focus was on Naruto who was laying on the bed.

Hours later, she was finally finished and deposited the last of the poison in a bowl. Sakura wiped her brow where swear accumulated before addressing her in-laws. "Naruto is out of danger," She told them and she could see them visibly relax, "However, an antidote must be made from the poison so he recovers fully."

"I will request the help of our poisons master and work on it right away!" The Head of the Hospital said before ordering his nurses and doctors around.

"I-" Sakura started but her vision grew dark and she stumbled forward.

"Sakura-san!"

She could hear Minato shouting her name for a brief moment before she fell into darkness.

When she woke up, she was back in the Hokage residence. "To think I passed out because of chakra exhaustion," Sakura told herself with a bit of amusement.

She didn't expect that amount of poison to be inside Naruto either. Considering he hosted Kurama, she knew that the beast could handle poison pretty well but that amount must've been too much for the legendary beast. Sakura moved to get up but soon enough the door was opened by a clearly healthy Naruto.

"You're here?" Sakura asked out loud, confused, watching the eerily quiet man. He seemed fine from what she could see and she relaxed. The expression on his face wasn't good so she assumed he was here to finalize things. "Are you here with the divorce papers?"

Naruto didn't know what to think about the woman in front of him anymore. When his parents told him that it was her who saved him he was shocked. He was blind-sided by her, who was different, and who hid her skills so deeply, even from highly trained ninjas. He briefly wondered if she was replaced by someone else but he refuted that thought instantly.

"You were asleep for three days and I woke up a day ago." Naruto simply said, staring down at the woman who looked angelic with her pink hair strewn across his bed. His eyes darkened as he approached her slowly. "And I changed my mind about the divorce."

Sakura was surprised by his words. "What? Why?"

He placed a hand under her chin, tilting her head upwards. "My wife seems to be hiding many secrets and I intend to get to find out what they are.."

Sakura was shocked by this domineering aura that suddenly pressed down on her. She stared up at the man who had the face of her previous secret love but a totally different personality. She was strangely attracted to this Naruto but she had a clear mind and didn't plan to stay in this marriage.

She pulled away from him and laid back down to sleep. "Don't you hate me?" She questioned with her eyes closed, "I only saved you because it would be bad if you died. The love I had for you is gone now so instead of telling me nonsense just bring me the divorce papers that you promised."

He was shocked by her harsh words. Slowly his lips formed a smirk and looked at her coldly. He climbed onto the bed and pressed her down with his hard body "Is that so wife? Should I coax you with the nightly activities of a husband and wife?"

Sakura smirked, unperturbed by him pressing down on her, which made his smug expression falter for a moment. This body was a mere twenty years old but mentally she was much older than him and experienced all sorts of things between men and women. Still, she couldn't allow him to get his way with her.

"You could try but you seem to forget that I don't love you anymore." She said before pushing him away with chakra-enhanced palms and sending him rolling off the bed. She smiled and rolled over to go back to sleep.

Naruto gazed at her with a complicated look and his lips slowly formed a mysterious smile. "Get some more rest, my wife." Sakura couldn't imagine that in the future, because of her actions, that her husband would slowly become obsessed with her to the point he would destroy the village for her.

Sakura woke up an hour later, her stomach crying out for food. She got out of bed, stretching as she did. Her chakra was already replenished and the chakra going to her seal was still in effect. She glanced at the clock seeing that it was only 9 am.

"What to eat this morning," She asked herself as she had a slew of recipes in her mind from all the times she tried to impress Sasuke. Her body was in much better shape now than she had taken over as the previous Sakura barely used to eat.

She walked into the adjoined bathroom and took a hot bath while thinking about what to make. When she came out she walked into the closet that only housed her clothes. Her counterpart's taste in clothing was very different from hers as it was much more feminine. The closet was lined with gorgeous kimonos, blouses, skirts, and dresses. On the far wall were many different colored heels and styles.

She could admit that the girl had taste but there wasn't a single shinobi outfit. Maybe it was because the fashion in this world was more advanced than hers. The similarities between this world and hers were starting to widen and she wasn't sure that she liked that.

Sakura dug around in the closet and managed to find a simple red dress. She complimented the dress with white stockings, black heels, and a black ribbon to tie her hair into a ponytail. When she was finished she exited her bedroom and found the housemaid waiting outside the door.

"Madame, the Master requests that you attend breakfast with him in the dining room." The maid said with her head bowed.

Sakura raised an eyebrow at the maid who treated the other Sakura like dirt and even called her nasty names. She laughs, amused by the sudden change. Naruto must have spoken to her then, she thought. Sakura walked away as if she didn't hear what she said and walked into the dining room.

She was surprised at who was in attendance at this breakfast. Sakura leisurely sat down at the empty seat opposite Naruto who sat at the other head seat. She looked at the delectable breakfast spread in front of her that consists of strawberries, toasts, bacon, egg, and tea.

"Is this a party or a family and team gathering?" She casually said, looking directly at Naruto before turning to her in-laws, "Good morning, mother and father." Sakura said politely, not even sparing the other two at the table a glance.

"Sakura."

It was Kakashi who called her name, and she looked at him, and Sasuke for a moment before looking away. She couldn't stand to even look at both of them, not because they were somehow just as gorgeous as everyone else in this world but because it seems even in this world the one-eyed ninja was still a shit teacher and Sasuke was still a prick. They were even worse in this world.

"Husband, why should I attend breakfast with you? You never asked before?" Her voice rang throughout the room.

Naruto frowned and slowly his expression changed. "Can't I have breakfast with my wife?" He smiled at her as if they were a loving married couple.

"Soon to be ex-wife." Sakura reminded him.

"Naruto!" Kushina cut in with a growl. "You're not going to divorce the wife that suffered to save your life are you?!"

"No, Mother," Naruto replied easily, ignoring his mother's anger.

"Naruto, why not get to the real reason we are here?" Sasuke interjected before narrowing his eyes at Sakura, "How do you know medical jutsu and even know how to extract poison. Something even our poisons master has trouble doing?!"

"Do you even have the right to question me? Do any of you have the right to question me?" She asked, looking at everyone at the table. "I never had a chance to prove myself because I was already profiled as something bad because of my parents. I was never liked in the academy and never had any friends. No one cared about me then and no one cares even now. So forgive me if I don't feel like divulging how I learned what I know."

Sakura reveled in the silence that her speech brought about. This was just a small favor she did for the other Sakura who suffered greatly at the hands of all of them. Sakura began to eat, not bothering to look at the expressions of the people on the table.

"If you don't tell us then we may have to take you in for interrogation." She heard Kakashi say and wasn't surprised the man would say something like that. Unfortunately for him, she was someone who knew him better than himself.

She looked up from her food and sent her ex-sensei a smile. "I really should tell you, shouldn't I sensei? I wouldn't want to disobey, lest I be struck through my chest with a Chidori."

She heard multiple gasps but she was busy watching Kakashi's expression changed from surprise to shock, anger, and then sadness. It was a low blow, she knew, but she couldn't bring herself to care.

"Excuse me," He said quickly and left the room

"Sakura, that was-" Minato started but was cut off by Sakura.

"That was a lot less bad than what I've been called over the years," Sakura interjected, smiling at Minato before she returned to her food. When she was finished she dabbed her lips with her napkin and found that they were all waiting for her to finish.

"Are you done, wife?" Naruto spoke for the first time in a while.

"Quite," Sakura let out a sigh of content before speaking. She decided to give them a small bone, "If you must know… I trained with a master secretly when everyone was busy tearing me down. She has already died so I'm the only one in this village with this rare knowledge."

"What can you tell us about the poison?" Naruto asked, looking at her imploringly, "The poisons expert is clueless about it."

"You're telling me that you weren't given the antidote?" Sakura was honestly taken aback at how low the standards were. What kind of poisons expert is that?

"No," Naruto chuckles, sending her a smirk, "lucky for your husband he has a special body that can burn away at poison."

Sakura rolled her eyes. The other Sakura may have not known about the fox inside him but she sure does. "That is excellent."

"Stop with the useless chatter and tell us about the poison." Sasuke snapped, glaring at both her and Naruto.

"The poison used is refined with heavy metals which get into the muscles and destroys the cells. Such a poison that even if a small amount is introduced into the bloodstream, the affected person will die within two or three days while also being painfully paralyzed for the duration. However, the amount used on Naruto would've killed him sooner. The antidote for this poison is extremely complex – so much so that I am not surprised your poisons expert couldn't create one."

"Fuck!" Sasuke cursed.

"Can you create an antidote, Sakura?" Minato asked, looking at her seriously.

Sakura looked at her father-in-law clearly for the first time and could really see where Naruto got his looks from. He was a man of little words but extremely handsome. "I can but have you find out who attacked Naruto?"

"It was a man wearing a black coat with red clouds. He called himself Sasori and is part of a group called Akatsuki." Sasuke said, "The police force is still investigating the nature of this group.."

"I see," Sakura said before standing up with a yawn, "Well, I'm going back to bed." She had dressed to go outside but she changed her mind. Sleep seemed more appealing than walking around in a village that hates her.

"I will walk you back, wife," Naruto said with a smile.

"Aren't you going to make the antidote?" Sasuke asked, in disbelief at her actions.

Sakura looked back at him and laughed. "I will make it when I'm ready."

She walked back to her room with Naruto close behind and when she got inside she was slammed against the wall with Naruto's body pressed on her and his hand on her throat. She looked up at him, looking into his now red eyes.

"I will not tolerate the constant disrespect, my dear wife." He growled, his hot breath hitting her face, "You don't want to suddenly end up crippled, unable to walk. Do you?."

She wasn't afraid of his threat and chuckled. "Then divorce me, my dear husband." She whispered before she is thrown onto the bed by him. She rolled into a sitting position and watched him with vigilance. This version of Naruto was much more violent and domineering which was a little surprising. She was curious to know how he turned out this way and wondered if it was the influence of the fox.

He watched her silence before walking out of the room. She was relieved that he was gone and fell back into the soft fluffy bed. Her thoughts focused on what Sasuke told her and she was surprised that Akatsuki was now beginning to make its move.

Now that the entire Uchiha Clan was still alive the village was much stronger than it was in her world. So the real problem was how Sasori got so close to Naruto without alerting anyone. The only person that was capable of such a feat was Zetsu.

However, the other Sakura had little knowledge of the world outside of the village besides what she learned at the academy. She needed to go to the library to get a proper history lesson on this world and find the nearest bingo book. There could be people in this world that never existed in hers. Worst yet, there could be completely new members in the Akatsuki, that she had no knowledge of and that was a problem.
