Summary: Dick/Raquel bonding chapter. Takes place around 2-3 months after Auld Acquaintance. This was pretty close to impossible for me to write cuz the show gave us close to nothing on Rocket, so I had to really think about her personality and how she could interact with Dick.

Zatanna, M'gann, and Connor had to stay after school for a project, and most of the others were either at school or with their mentors. Dick and Raquel were the only ones at the cave. Things were somewhere between comfortable and awkward. The two trusted each other and were sorta-friends, of course, but they didn't know much about one another. Raquel mostly spent time with the girls and Kal. The other 3 boys didn't know very much about her personal life, since they rarely hung out with her. All she knew about Robin outside the mask was that he was the youngest, he had a snarky, sometimes cocky personality, and he was dating one of her best friends.

"Soooooo...whaddya wanna do?" Dick looked up from his phone and shrugged.

"Anything. I don't really mind." Raquel knew it wasn't accurate, but she felt like a babysitter right now. Sure, she was still a teenager, like the others on the team, but there was a 4 year gap between her and Dick. Zee was Dick's age, but she didn't feel like it when they hung out at their girls' nights or just as friends. She seemed far more...mature. Man, this is weird.

"Uh...how are things going with 'Tanna?"

"G-good. Yeah. We're great. And you? How's it like being the big boss's girlfriend?" Raquel smirked.

"Not bad. But he takes everything so seriously."

"Yeah, that's kinda his biggest problem. Honestly, I didn't think he'd ever get over that Tula girl-"

"Who?!" Oh, crap.

"Uh...n-no-one. I-" Raquel death-glared Dick to talk, and he sighed before speaking. "Okay, don't blame Kal for this cuz it's kinda a touchy thing, but Tula was one of his best friends in Atlantis. He had this thing for her, but when he moved to the surface, she hooked up with his other best friend, Garth. So you're still his first real girlfriend, far as I can tell, but...yeah." Raquel looked at Dick blankly for a bit before nodding. Dick felt a little guilty for ratting out Kal like that, but at the same time, Kal probably shoulda told Rocky about that.

"...he never told me."

"Yeah...it's, uh, it's pretty touchy for him. Don't blame him for it, okay?"

"Y-yeah. Course not. He's great, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Besides, everyone's had a crush before, right?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"Sooooo...about you..." Dick looked to Raquel questioningly, "I-it's just...I know basically nothin' about you. Batman's really uptight with the whole ID thing, isn't he?"

"Yeah...he is. I-it's not that he doesn't trust you all, i-it's just...his ID's kinda a really sensitive secret. I-I mean, if anyone ever figured out, a lot of people would be dead. C-can't exactly take any chances in Gotham."

"Yeah...but you told Wally. And Roy, and 'Tanna."

"Uh...I told Wally and Roy before Bats really drilled the whole secret identity thing into me. And Zee...it's complicated." Raquel nodded and dropped the subject.

"Y'know, I gotta say it. It's pretty epic being on this team." Dick nodded.

"Yeah. 'S nice to have people our age to work with. Y'know, more or less our age."

"You callin' me old?"

"Wh-what? N-no!" Raquel chuckled.

"Just messin' with ya." Another long silence ensued, before Dick checked his phone for what seemed like the billionth time. Raquel rolled her eyes.

"Y'know, nothing's gonna change in 5 minutes. 'Tanna'll call you when she's ready. Give her some alone time."

"Y-yeah..."

"Besides, you could probably use a break from one another. Every time I see you two, you're either making out or doing something together. Haven't had a serious girls' night in forever." Dick blushed a deep scarlet.

"Wh-what? W-we don't sp-spend-"

"Don't kid yourself. It's sweet n'all, but you gotta have a break from each other every now and then." Just then, the Zeta tubes activated to let Zatanna, M'gann, and Connor into the cave. Zee instantly walked over to give Dick a peck on the lips and drag him away. Raquel sighed but couldn't help the smirk. "I rest my case." She then turned to see Megan and Connor do the same thing, and she groaned. "Not you too! Where's Kal when I need him?!"

This one probably sucked. I wish the show would have given us more of Rocket (and Zatanna/Chalant, for that matter) than it did, but nonetheless, I wanted to keep Rocket as a member of the core team since she was part of the season 1 lineup and kinda fits in with the group, even if she was barely in it. The next few chapters will most likely not be Chalant based, since I kinda have to add in more bonding between Dick and a few team members that I haven't done yet, but I am by no means forgetting about Zatanna. It's just that there's a ton of characters Dick has relations with, and as it is right now I've basically ignored Babs, Luke, and a few others. I will bring Donna back in an upcoming chapter, but yeah. Feel free to leave comments or suggestions. Next chapter up soon.
