A little bit about me:

I'm a huge anime and RPG fan. I became an official otaku about six years ago. Even though I wasn't one back then, I was still a huge Bleach, Naruto, and DBZ fan. (still am) One day I went to the library to check out some books. I stumbled upon the manga section and saw Genshiken. If you never heard of it, I'll explain. Genshiken is manga/anime about a bunch of college students who are in an anime and video game club called The Society of Modern Visual Culture, or, Genshiken. It's where I learned where the word "otaku" meant. What it means is a person who is a fan of Japanese culture, primarily anime and manga. That was when I realized I was an otaku because I like everything Japanese. Not just anime but the cities, history, and the women (blush). One of the characters in the manga said something that stuck with me. "You don't just become an otaku, you wake up and realize you are one."

What I hate to see in fanfics: Yuri and yaoi. I don't hate gay people, it's just I like canon characters exactly as they are.
