Time jump:
Piper kept glancing at the clock. It was ten past 11. Neither Phoebe nor Zankou has arrived. She knew Zankou wouldn't just pop in, but he did say after 11. The club was packed as usual. You had the band playing on stage and drinks flying out of the bar. Paige had decided to stay at home and watch the kids.
"Sorry, I got held up at work." Phoebe came dashing down the stairs and into the back of the bar. "Busy night?"
"It is Friday night." Piper yelled over the music.
Phoebe rolled her eyes, shoving her bag under the bar. "As if all the college kids rubbing bodies wasn't any indication."
"You remember us at that age?" Piper laughed.
Phoebe shook her head at the thought. "Oh god n-Woah."
Piper frowned, glancing towards her stunned sister. "What is it?"
Phoebe reached for her sister's jaw, turning her head towards the stairway. "That."
Coming down the stairs into the club were Zankou and Cole. Both were wearing all black. Black button-down t-shirts and black jeans. Zankou had cut his full beard into a shadowy go-tee. His hair was cut shorter, giving him a more mature sexy look.
"Whoa." Piper huffed, her eyes glued to the demon.
Phoebe on the other hand couldn't stop looking at Cole. "Who would have thought age fitted him so well."
Piper nudged her on the arm, gesturing towards him. "You going to talk to him?"
"I don't know." Grabbing a beer, she handed it to a clearly tipsy blond. "We haven't talked about us. And he is still avoiding me."
Piper had caught Cole all but running off whenever Phoebe showed up. "Well, it's not as easy for him to let anyone in. He does have a daughter."
"And a girlfriend." Phoebe whispered.
"What?" Following her sister's point of sight, she nearly choked of her water. In their moment of gawking, they both failed to notice the dark-skinned female attached to Cole's arm. One of her hands, cupping the back of his neck, playing with the little hairs at the nape of his neck. "Oh."
At that moment Zankou made his way over to her, giving her a wide grin. "I have a few demons patrolling the manor. Cole and I will be watching over you two here."
Piper raised a brow. "I don't think Cole will be doing much watching." She gestured to the now-making-out couple. "He does know Phoebe is here right."
"That's Kate." Zankou reached over the bar, pulling out a bottle of bourbon. "And yes he knows Phoebe is here. This is his way of letting her know, he's over her. Not to mention Kate is his fiancé."
"Fiancé?!" Piper yelped. "Didn't his wife just die?"
Zankou shook his head. "She died a few years ago. Kate is actually a co-worker of his. They are on the same team." Reaching for her hand, he held it tightly. "Listen, I haven't seen Cole this relaxed since his wife. I don't know what he feels towards your sister, but I asking you. Don't ruin this for him."
Piper glanced at her clearly pissed-off sister. "I'll see what I can do."
"Kate will be leaving in a few." Zankou said. "I'll come grab you when she does." Taking the stolen bottle with him, he headed back to the booth.
"You are paying for that bottle!" She yelled after the thief. Asking one of the bartenders to take over, she followed Phoebe out the back door. Finding her sister against the building, with her head back she sighed. "It's his fiancé."
Phoebe scoffed. "So much for keeping my hopes up."
"Phoebe, I am sorry." Piper whispered.
"Don't be." She wiped the tears off her face in a determined manner. "This was just the push I needed. I can finally go on with my life and not wonder what he thinks or feels."
As if destiny was playing a cruel joke on her, Cole and Kate walked out of the club at that moment. They were too in the conversation they didn't see the sisters. Cole turned her around to face him, kissing her gently on the neck. Kate chuckled, wrapping her arms around him.
"Do you really have to go?" He mumbled.
Kate sighed in content to his affection. "One of us has to go back to work and I promised Tally I would be there for her dance performance."
Cole gave in. "Record it for me?"
"Of course." Cupping his face she pulled him for a deep kiss. "Please be safe."
"Kate."
"You have been away from all of this for so long." She whispered. "Just…please come home back to us."
Cole pushed her hair back, cupping her cheek. He could sense the fear and worry waving off her. It was something he did not like. Especially when he was the cause of it. "Hey, listen to me. I may have been out of the game for some time, but your hunk of a man is a hell of a demon." She gave a watery laugh. "Many still fear me. Hesitation in even attempting something towards me. Now with my brother, no one will dare touch us. I will come back him to you and my-our daughter."
"You better Cole Turner." She reached for his hand, kissing the inside of his palm. "The two of us will be waiting for you." She slipped into the car before Cole could stop her once more.
Turning around to run back into the club, he froze at seeing Piper and Phoebe. "Oh shit."
Piper gave him an awkward smile. "Hi."
"H-how long you two been there?" He asked.
Phoebe scoffed/laughed. "Long enough to say congratulations on the wedding."
Cole was stunned for a moment. "Thank you, um, by the way, Zankou was looking for you two before this."
Piper nodded, grabbing her sisters' arm. "Right, let's head back in."
Following the demon back into the club, they watched as he ran to his brother. Piper had to admit it was kind of cute, the way he animated his words to Zankou. The older brother jumped up with a laugh, pulling the younger one into a tight hug. She frowned at seeing Zankou gesture he leaves. Something Cole didn't bother in fighting.
Phoebe had left a few minutes after Cole. She was in no state of mind to be working or dealing with drama. She had enough of her own.
Piper exhaled deeply. The club had died down, with only a few people still left inside. Letting her bartenders take charge, she made her way to Zankou's booth. She spotted the bottle nearly empty in his hand. "It's true you don't get drunk."
"I told you." Glancing around he frowned at not seeing his other charge. "Where is your sister?"
"She needed some rest." Piper sighed. "She heard about the engagement."
"Ah." Zankou leaned back in the booth, resting his arm over the back. "How is she?"
"Hurt." Piper took a seat beside him, puzzling into his side. "She thought they had another chance."
"When it comes to my brothers' relations, I don't intervene. He does what he wants." Zankou stated. "But I will say this. Tally has not laughed as much as she is now, since her mother passed."
Piper watched the demon beside her. "You are nothing like I imagine."
"What did you imagine?"
She shrugged. "Evil. Rude. Not as handsome. Big ego."
"I am evil Piper. But only to those that have wronged me. I can be rude to those I don't like." He ran a hand down his go-tee. "I have always been handsome. Nothing I can do about that."
"At least I got the big ego right." She grumbled.
Zankou laughed, grabbing her chin, lifting her face. "You forgot a few others."
"Oh?"
Leaning forward his nose touching the top of hers, Zankou wet his lips. "Possessive. Dominant." Moving his mouth to the side of her ear, he whispered. "The unsatisfying craving for what is mine." Wrapping an arm around her waist, he pulled her into his lap. Letting her straddle his lap, he gripped the back of her neck and pulled her into a deep kiss.
Zankou has been fighting against himself since he first acknowledged the sensation, she caused in him. He wanted nothing, but to claim her right there in front of everyone. Leave no doubt she was his and only his. But a part of him would always stop himself before taking that step too far. A part that only became aware of when she was around. But in this very moment, as she grinded herself against him, that new part of him was shutting down. Piper was pushing him past that line. For once he was not going to stop her.
Piper groaned softly against his ear. Her hands were gripping his broad shoulders, all while her hips rolled over his lap. She could feel just how strained he was against his slacks. Leaning forward she kissed him along the jawline and down his neck. At that moment she was praying to whatever god would listen to her, begging not to let him stop like so many other times. Piper refused to walk away once again without having satisfied both their craving.
"Piper." Zankou huffed, trying to regain his lost breath. "Piper wait."
"No." She hissed. "You are not walking away this time."
A deep chuckle rumbled from his chest. If only she knew he wasn't planning on stopping, but they were gaining an audience. Glancing over her shoulder, he spotted and few males glancing their way. To the untrained eyes, it looked very much as if she was riding him. Although in a way she was, not quite how he wanted her to. Flashing his fire-filled eyes at the males, he smirked at how quickly they glanced away. Pulling her away from his neck, he grabbed a hand full of her hair and tugged her head to the side. Leaning closer to her ear he spoke in a low growl.
"Who knew a witch could move in such a way." Running his tongue over the shell of her ear, he ran it down her neck. She was sweeter than he'd remembered. A growl slipped past his lips at the slight roll of hips she made. Zankou was at the brink of losing that little restraint he didn't have.
Without breaking contact from her neck, he scanned the club. There were still a few glancing their way. With a wave of his hand, he caused a few items to fall from the wall. The distraction gave him enough time to flame them both out of the club and into Piper's bedroom.
