The Queen couldn't help, but blink at the sight.

There was her husband holding a chicken.

"Arthur. Are you alright?"

"Of course, I'm just telling Merlin about our plans for the days."

He had named the chicken Merlin.

Oh dear, Gwen thought.

"Merlin?"

The chicken, name Merlin titled her head.

"You do know that's a female chicken?" Gwen asked.

"Yes, Merlin clearly been messing around with spells that turned him into a woman and a chicken," Arthur pointed out like it had made so much sense to the King mind.

Gwen back away slowly to speak to Gaius.

"Arthur."

"Yes, Gwen."

"You do remember that Merlin went to visit his mother."

"And?" the King asked.

"He hasn't returned yet dear."

"Nonsense. It's been over a week. Merlin is never away for too long. He's my protector you know?"

"Ba-gawk," the chicken in question said ruffling up her feathers.

"That's nice sweetly," Gwen said. "I'm just going to speak to Gaius."

"Whatever for?" Arthur asked.

"Hmm? Oh, nothing much."

Gwen left the room because she is sure her husband had lost his mind. Arthur never did take it well when Merlin went off to visit his mother.

The next time Morgana attacked Camelot is when Merlin is away only to stop the attack because her dear brother is more insane than she is.

"Alright, Merlin you know what to do," the King said.

The chicken's name Merlin ba-gawk and pecked at the grass.

"No, your meant to attack Morgana."

Morgana turned to Gwaine in hopes the knight also hadn't lost his mind.

"What happened?"

"Arthur thinks that Merlin is a chicken."

The chicken in question was slowly walking away. Arthur followed.

"And, where is Camelot protector now?" Morgana asked.

"Of to visit his mother."

"Hmm. Alright then I'll come back next month." Morgana started to walk away taking her army with her.

"What?" Arthur asked turning his back on the chicken, name Merlin. "But we we're about to go to war again. You can't just stop half way through."

"I might've lost my mind brother dearest with the goal of taking your crown, but even I have standers. And, as you see. I will not attack Camelot with their King not fit for battle. Beside Merlin isn't even here. What kind of challenge would that be?"

"Merlin is here," Arthur said. "He's a chicken."

The chicken was eating a worm.

"You always did have attachment issues," Morgana said. "Tell Merlin to be here next month possible on a Monday."

Morgana strolled of and a fox went to attack the chicken.

"No, don't eat Merlin," the King said in a fuss. Trying to save the chicken, name Merlin from a fox.

Camelot knights looked mildly concerned.

The council eyes wonder of to the chicken standing on the table. The King watched with a caution glance.

"Why did you have turn yourself into a chicken Merlin?" the King asked.

The chicken poked at the paper on the table.

The council was very worried for their King.

They also wondered when Merlin would come back and maybe next time take Arthur with him. Gwen would be just fine on her own for a few days.

"Everything wants to eat chickens," Arthur said.

"Ba-gawk."

"Why couldn't you turn yourself into a horse? Or, something more scary looking."

"Ba-gawk."

Clearly the council will not be getting any work done today.

They turned to their Queen.

"He misses Merlin," she said.

The council knows.

"Ba-gawk!"

The King always did have attachment issues.

Leon wonders if that was the chicken?

Or, was it that?

Maybe, that one?

The chicken name Merlin had somehow left the King side leaving the King to throw a fit because Merlin was now a chicken.

A lot of things eat chickens.

Leon found himself in a chicken coop trying to find that said chicken.

Maybe, it was that one?

Ow, it bit him.

Merlin wouldn't bite him.

A voice inside of Leon head was trying to reason with him to remind him that Merlin wasn't actually a chicken and that the warlock had gone off to visit his mother.

It still didn't stop the knight from having unshed tears as his finger started to bleed.

"The real Merlin is a lot nicer than you," the knight said.

Leon had learnt that day that chickens understood insults because suddenly all of them we're glaring at him.

Thus, that is how Camelot found themselves with a knight running around the Kingdom being chased by chickens.

Surprising it's the only normal thing that had happened to the Kingdom since Arthur had been made King.

Mordred sometimes wonders if he should've joined Morgana maybe the witch was the only sane one out of all of them.

"Do they know the chicken isn't Emrys?" Mordred asked Elyan.

Elyan shrugged his shoulders.

"I think there just trying to get the chicken to stop attacking Leon."

Lancelot pulled the chicken of Leon head only to have the chicken leap out of Lancelot hands and attack Leon.

"It won't let go of my hair," Leon said.

"Will pull it off," Gwaine said.

"I just did it went back to attack him," Lancelot said.

"Is Merlin coming back soon?" Elyan asked Mordred.

"He isn't too sure yet."

Elyan stood back as the chicken landed on the ground looking furiously at the knights and went to attack Leon once more. Leon screamed.

"Hey, Elyan."

"Yes, Mordred."

"Ever get the feeling that we're the only normal ones in Camelot?" the youngest knight asked.

Elyan nodded his head.

The pair watched as Leon ran away from a chicken. The chicken ran towards Leon and the knights of the round table following the chicken trying to stop the animal from attacking on of their fellow knights.

"What's going on here?" Merlin demanded as he poof in front of them.

Silence.

The knights had stopped and Merlin stared down a chicken. The chicken glared back.

"Go on," Merlin said shooing the chicken away with his staff. "Get out of here. Go on."

The chicken puffed out her feathers and did just that, leaving the knights of Camelot alone.

"Oh, for the love of Camelot," Leon said taking Merlin in for a hug. "You're here. It was horrible. I was chased by a whole flock of chickens then the one the King name after you wouldn't leave me alone."

Merlin raised an eyebrow as he patted Leon on the shoulder.

"There, there Leon the evil chicken left you alone."

Leon was a crying mess.

"Are we sure we're Camelot best knights?" Mordred asked Elyan.

"I've asked that question myself," the Queen brother said.

"Merlin."

Merlin turned to Arthur.

"You're not a chicken anymore."

"Arthur we've talked about this. Stop naming animals after me."

"Then stop turning yourself into animals."

"Arthur."

"Yes, Merlin."

"You have attachment issues."

Arthur frowned.

"Why does everyone keep saying that?"

"Are you sure he's the King the druids talk about?" Elyan asked.

"I've asked that question myself," Mordred said using Elyan own words against him.

By the time Morgana did attack. Sir Leon was the one that made his first move by throwing that said chicken at her face.

"Get it of me," the witch said. As the chicken attack. "Get this stupid animal of me."

"You see Leon," Merlin said gently. "The evil chicken can't hurt you anymore."

Leon still had tears in his eyes at the thought of the evil chicken while the two armies stood to the side watching Arthur's half-sister run from a chicken.

"Does she remember she has magic?" Mordred asked Elyan.

"I don't think so," Elyan said.

As Elyan watched Morgana run away from the evil chicken name Merlin. It was safe to say that Camelot didn't go to war that day, maybe next month on a Friday
