I DO NOT OWN ANYTHING RELATED TO NARUTO & HARRY POTTER OR THEIR CHARACTER

I have not read any Harry Potter books, so I am writing this story in context from the movies. Though I will be using many bits and pieces of information provided from the fandoms. Also, please remember that this is a FANFICTION, so I can use and bend any characters or facts to my will. So, please do not feel offended if you don't like some things I do.

Imagine all the characters just like in the movie and their actors at that time. Naruto will be described every time his appearance changes and imagine him as an actual human.

The only main character from NARUTO will be Naruto himself.

Naruto will be two years older than Harry and his friends. So, it makes him around 15 years old, and the trio to be about 13 years old.

This fic will start from the third movie – Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban

It will be a Naruto x Hermione story, but they will not become a couple until the next movie. For this movie, it will mostly be some teasing and playful banter for them.

Chapter 1 - Return

It was an unusually sunny day in London after the downpour last night. A brown-haired girl just got off a car carrying a trunk and a copper-coloured cat with her. After she said goodbye to a couple who seemed to be her parents, she moved toward an old, dingy building with a sign called 'The Leaky Cauldron'. (A.N. Hermione's parents are shown for a couple of seconds at the start of the second movie during the bookstore scene) As she entered the building, she expected it to be filled with strangers as she knew that all her friends would be arriving the next day. But to her surprise, she saw a giant man was laughing loudly, sitting at the corner of the pub with his back turned towards her. It took only a couple of seconds to identify the man, and she smiled brightly.

"Hagrid!" she called a little louder than usual to gain the giant's attention.

Hagrid turned around as he heard his name being called and exclaimed loudly, "Hermione? What are you doing here a day early? No worries, come on, join us."

Now named girl, Hermione, knew that her friend did not intend to offend her and was just confused seeing her early. As she checked in to one of the rooms there and handed her luggage to Tom, innkeeper at the Leaky Cauldron, she explained - "Mom and dad had to go to a conference out of town, so I decided to come early."

As she approached her friend, Hagrid stood up to greet her properly. "Well, it's good you are here. Now I'll be able to introduce you to my best friend," he said as he hugged her and motioned towards the person standing in front of him, whom she overlooked earlier due to Hagrid's large form blocking him from her sight.

As she turned towards the person, she saw a boy who looked a couple of years older. He was around 5 feet and 6 inches in height and had bright golden blond hair. His eyes were of the most brilliant shade of blue anyone can imagine, and his face had three whiskies-like marks on each of his cheeks, which gave him a rugged look. He was wearing a plain, dark burnt orange hoodie and blue jeans with white sneakers to complete his look. She did notice a Gryffindor robe next to him which confused her as she had never seen him before at Hogwarts.

When Naruto noted Hermione's confused stare at his robes, he understood immediately and decided to introduce himself and break the silence before it became awkward – "Hello! I am Naruto Uzumaki. It's nice to meet you."

Startled after being bought out of her thoughts, Hermione got quickly tried to cover her embarrassment and introduced herself – "Hello! I am Hermione Granger, and this is Crookshanks. It's nice to meet you too."

Naruto caught her embarrassment due to the unintentional blush on her cheeks, thought, 'She is cute' and chuckled internally.

Hagrid being his oblivious self, mentioned them to sit and handed Hermione a small paper. "Mione! Look at this! Do you recognise him?" he said enthusiastically.

Hermione took the paper and saw that it was a moving picture of a black dragon, approximately equal to a small house. "Umm, Hagrid. It's just a dragon," she said, not getting the point of his joyous mood.

"That's not any dragon! Look closely. It's Norbert! You were there at his birth. Naruto got this photo for me when he saw him a couple of months ago," Hagrid urged her, trying to jog her memory.

"Hagrid, not everyone can identify a growing dragon if they don't know what to look for", Naruto commented, chuckling at his friend's behaviour and defending Hermione.

"He is right, Hagrid. We hadn't learned about dragons till now, so I couldn't recognise Norbert. Though I am delighted to know that he is doing good, and he looks very powerful," Hermine said, happy that Hagrid got to see Norbert even if it was in photos. She smiled towards Naruto to thank him for defending her even if they both knew Hagrid was not offended.

After this, ice was broken down between Naruto and Hermione as he told her and Hagrid about his visit to Romania, where he met Norbert. After some time, when she was comfortable enough to talk openly to Naruto, she asked the question she wanted to ask him since meeting him – "Naruto, are you a transfer student to Hogwarts? Because I have not seen you before, and you have a Gryffindor robe with you."

"Hmm, you are way more patient and calmer than me. I would have rudely asked the first time I saw it, and I was in your place" this caused Hagrid to release a small laugh at the truthful statement and Hermione to become embarrassed at his bashful praise. "To answer your question, I am a fourth-year Gryffindor and have been since my first year there. Though I would have directly gone to Hogwarts, I came here for an important job," he continued.

"So, where were you in the last two years? And are you here to buy your yearbooks?" she questioned again.

"I think I can answer those questions for you properly, Ms Granger", a new voice spoke up from behind her.

As all three of them turned towards the source of the voice, they saw an elderly man walking up to them. "Gramps!" Naruto exclaimed and rushed towards the old man to hug him.

Naruto's action caused Hermione's eyes to widen, and as the old man settled on the table with them, she questioned/stuttered, "P-P-Professor Dumbledore? He is your grandson?"

"Hahaha… No, my dear. Naruto just likes to call me gramps as a term of endearment since I first met him when he was ten years old. I also see him as my surrogate grandson," he replied while laughing softly at Hermione's surprised face. Then he continued, "As for your previous questions, Naruto here is an apprentice to my old student Newton Scamander. He was the one who introduced us for the first time. Naruto had to leave Hogwarts after the first six months there due to a problem. So, Newton decided to go on a research trip with him, and he tested Naruto on his schoolwork as I authorised him to do so. On this trip, Naruto gathered information on all the magical beasts they encountered and based on the results of his research, we would have gained the title of a magi-zoologist. A couple of months ago, he finished his research and gained the title of the youngest magi-zoologist ever. And coincidently, now we have the solution due to which he had to leave in the first place, and that is the specific reason I asked Hagrid to escort Naruto here" Dumbledore explained Naruto's situation to Hermione.

(A.N. I am making Newton only a couple of years older than Snape, and I am not taking anything into account regarding the movies of the books he is in, just his profession and some characters which appeared along with him)

Naruto got a big smile and asked, "Really, gramps? We can get it now?". Seeing Dumbledore nod, he cheered. "Man! I should have bought big brother Newt and big sis Tina with me. They would have loved to see it made," he said as an after-thought.

(A.N. Newt and Tina from 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them' are married)

Hermione slowly digested the information that the boy in front of him was a legal magi-zoologist and referred to one of the legendary wizards as a brother. She concluded that this orange loving boy was brilliant despite his likes for pranks and explosive personality as she came to know him from their short acquaintance. Then she asked the only question she could form now. "Umm, Naruto?" she said, gaining the attention of everyone on the table, "If it's not rude to ask, then can you please tell me what caused you to leave?" She asked nervously, afraid that she might have asked something personal.

Naruto just smiled at her warmly to ease her apparent nervousness and replied – "You see when I went to get my first wand, every wand I held either got damaged or outright destroyed. Ollivander himself claimed that I was his greatest challenge as he was not able to get me a wand."

"Wait! If you do not have a wand, then how are you able to do magic?" Hermione asked

At this, Naruto grinned, "It's simple. I started to figure out a way to do wandless magic while travelling even if it drains me too fast for my preference, and that is also the reason I still need a wand", he replied very proudly. He raised his hand to prove his point and said "Wingardium Leviosa" while pointing towards the beer mug in front of Hagrid, which started to float in the air, much to the amazement of the other three on the table.

"Bravo, Naruto! It is quite a trick you got there. I wouldn't mind learning it myself in future," Dumbledore said and continued, "But for now, we should go to the Ollivanders as we are on a schedule and Hagrid have some important work to attend to at Hogwarts" while looking at the giant knowingly.

It took the giant some time to figure out what the headmaster was pointing to and then quickly went back to school after promising the two kids to meet at school. Naruto and Dumbledore got up to leave when the old man said to Hermione – "Ms Granger, you can also come with us as it will be very educational for you."

Seeing Hermione's confused look, Naruto chuckled and said, "You know, you look cute when you are confused", causing the girl to blush. "During the trip, along with my research, I also studied wand making and went to almost every competent wandmaker in the hope to get one. As very few people know the art of wand crafting, my search for fruitless, so now I will be making a new wand from scratch with the help of gramps and Ollivander," he continued and started to walk to save the girl from more embarrassment.

As the doorbell rang, Ollivander saw an odd guest entering his shop. "Ahh, Albus. It is quite unusual for you to be here. How can I help you?"

"Ahh, Garrick, today we will overcome your greatest challenge and make a wand," Dumbledore replied mysteriously and let the two teenagers behind him enter the shop.

(A.N. Ollivander is the last name, and Garrick is the first name of the person who sold Harry his first wand)

Ollivander understood it immediately and got excited. He took out his wand and waved it towards the floor behind his counter, revealing a downward staircase. "Alright, if you would all follow me, please." He said with giddiness clear in his voice.

After ascending the stairs, they were in a room easily on par with the Great Hall at Hogwarts. More than half of the room was stuffed with different items and books for wand making. At the end of the room, there was a big intricate rune carved on the floor.

"Mr Ollivander, why are you unable to make a wand for Naruto earlier and now you can?" Hermione asked curiously

"Every wand is made up of two parts, a core and a body. The body of a wand is usually made up of wood, but sometimes bones are also used. The core is usually retrieved from a creature like the Griffin hair & Dragon-Heartstring in your own wand. The combination of the body and the core decides the characteristics of the wand. The power of the wand is directly proportional to the power of its core and body. Some more powerful wands contain multiple cores, if I remember correctly, my father told me that Dumbledore's first contained a core of three elements." Hermione listened with rapt attention. She knew that the wandmakers are very secretive with their knowledge, and the people who wanted to become wandmakers had to give some tests to prove themselves worthy enough to learn it, which Naruto did some years ago. "You see, it is a known fact that every wand chooses its master, but it is also true that if the wand is not good enough, then the wielder will not be able to perform magic properly. Like in Naruto's case, every single and double element wand I handed him was destroyed into pieces as they were not powerful enough to handle his highly potent and astronomical amount of magic. Even the three-element core ones he tried cracked due to the overload. So, I theorised that he would need a more powerful wand that I cannot make myself as the process is volatile. Also, I don't know what to use, so that the custom wand I would have made will accept Naruto as its wielder. Hence, he will be making one himself."

"This is the part where my expertise in runes will come in handy. When Naruto first confronted this problem, I decided to help him personally. So, I spent the last four years researching and designing multiple complex rune matrices. For this, I myself had to learn the art of wand making. All the elements for the core must be obtained voluntarily if it comes from a living being. The first rune will project Naruto's magic and blood essence to all the existing viable animals. The second rune will track down the best material for the wand's body using a similar method as the first one. With them, Naruto will be able to summon all the required materials for the core and the body from all around the world just with the help of his magic and blood. The last rune will strengthen the already existing rune Ollivander uses to make wands, so the existing rune will be able to stand the volatile nature of the process. I will also be making a protective barrier around them and supplying it with. If Ollivander is right, then the process could harm its surroundings," Dumbledore explained as he started to engrave all the new runes around the Ollivander's old one with his magic.

After spending approximately two hours expertly engraving all the runes and checking them for mistakes, Dumbledore stood up and turned towards Hermione. "Now, Ms Granger, before we proceed, I would request you to not share any information you gained or will gain in this shop and the fact that Naruto and I have studied wand-making a secret. They all are very sensitive to be heard by any wrong people, but you may tell it to anyone approved by Naruto or me. You may inform your peers about Naruto, the research trip, his position as a magi-zoologist, and even his wand-less magic. But nothing about anything you heard/saw or will hear/see in this shop," he said.

Hermione took a moment to properly understand her teacher's words and realised that the information she gained or will gain is something any dark wizard will do anything to get. She resolved herself, "I promise on my honour as a witch that I will not share any information I gain here today."

Seeing Hermione's determined gaze, Naruto grinned and exclaimed while pumping his right fist in the air – "Alright! now let's make me a wand."
