This is my second attempt at writing a fic. I had to abandon my first one after I got infected with COVID. I had to stop for months because of my university work, and ultimately, I lost interest in writing that story. So please ignore any mistakes or point them out in reviews.

Please remember that this is a FANFICTION, so I can use and bend any characters or facts to my will. So, please do not feel offended if you don't like some things I do.

ALSO! Any fuckers who don't like my fic then simply don't read it. I only consider reviews from people who have written a fic themselves, as they would understand how hard it can be to plot a good storyline.

As far as wandless magic is considered, it is a scarce skill in this story. Very few people can do it, and they can only do very easy/menial spells windlessly. Whereas Naruto has been doing all the spells without a wand which is unique to him.

I have an excellent idea for Naruto's wand, which I THINK has never been done previously in any fiction.

Please understand that I am in my sophomore year of my bachelor's degree, so don't expect a regular update schedule.

After spending approximately two hours expertly engraving all the runes and checking them for mistakes, Dumbledore stood up and turned towards Hermione. "Now, Ms Granger, before we proceed, I would request you to not share any information you gained or will gain in this shop and the fact that Naruto and I have studied wand-making a secret. They all are very sensitive to be heard by any wrong people, but you may tell it to anyone approved by Naruto or me. You may inform your peers about Naruto, the research trip, his position as a magi-zoologist, and even his wand-less magic. But nothing about anything you heard/saw or will hear/see in this shop," he said.

Hermione took a moment to properly understand her teacher's words and realised that the information she gained or will gain is something any dark wizard will do anything to get. She resolved herself, "I promise on my honour as a witch that I will not share any information I gain here today."

Seeing Hermione's determined gaze, Naruto grinned and exclaimed while pumping his right fist in the air – "Alright! now let's make me a wand."

Chapter 2 – Anomalies

Seeing Naruto cheer, Dumbledore smiled and tried to calm him down, "Alright! Alright! I understand that you are excited to get your wand Naruto. But please remain calm as this could be very dangerous". Seeing his words making the desired effect, he signalled Naruto to stand in a circle at the end of the rune. "Now that all the preparations have been made. Perhaps we can star-"

"WAIT!" Dumbledore was interrupted by Naruto, who was standing at his place rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. "Ah, I forgot to mention something. I already know a creature that will be contributing to making my wand."

This proclamation surprised Ollivander and Dumbledore to some extent but not too much. Seeing that Naruto was studying wand-craft and magical creatures for the last few years, there was a possibility that he would have encountered a beast that had agreed to help him.

"Naruto, I am sure that you already know that it is the creature who decides to help in making a wand. Either by providing its bones for the wand's body or any other part used in the core. Also, the creature must be compatible with you to ensure that the wand excepts you," Ollivander said, briefing the points. "So please show the element you have and tell us how you know that the creature it is from is compatible with you", he completed.

Hearing Ollivander, Naruto gained a severe look and said, "Alright, but before that, I request that you all keep this creature's existence to yourself. Apart from me, only big brother knows about his existence."

"We will keep it a secret, Naruto but, what is this creature that you speak of? And how rare is he that only two people knew its existence?" Dumbledore asked, and Ollivander nodded, having the same question.

Naruto looked his gramps in the eyes and replied briefly, "He is an anomaly, gramps."

These five words were enough for adults to get a magical equivalent of a heart attack. While Hermione was confused and asked, "Professor, what's an anomaly?"

Breaking out of his shock, Dumbledore replied, "There are legends about some creatures. They hold extraordinary power. While they can be anything like a unicorn or a boggart, they are distinctive enough to be identified as an anomaly just by seeing them. No one knows where they come from or even if they truly exist." He let this sink for some moments and continued, "There is a reason why they are considered as myths. The last person known to encounter an anomaly is the great Merlin himself. It is speculated that his owl was an anomaly."

(A.N. As a background to this story, Merlin is the greatest wizard ever known. He was the teacher to all the four founders of Hogwarts. King Arthur Pendragon and Knights of the Round Table are real and existed before Hogwarts came around. Consider Hogwarts as the oldest magical school ever. Think of Merlin as the equivalent of Sage of Six Paths from Naruto. In the original series, Merlin was a Slytherin and assumed as one of the first students at Hogwarts)

"If Mr Uzumaki's claim is true, then I fully understand his reason for secrecy as all the wizarding world will be after him if they found that the anomalies are true, and he has encountered one himself," Ollivander said. "Now, if it is not a problem, then I would request you to quench my curiosity to know how you encountered this creature and how are you sure about your compatibility with it?"

"He is the reason I am alive, and I gained interest in magical creatures" Naruto smiled wistfully and continued, "He saved me when I was around nine years old, and Newton witnessed that incident. It was also the day I met big brother Newt. He has been with me ever since. He is here with us too."

Naruto gave a short whistle, and a black object shot from Hermione's feet, scaring her to death. The creature gave off a high-pitched screech and landed on Naruto's shoulder. Everyone in the room instantly recognised it as a phoenix. Rather than the standard red-yellow colour, his feathers were of the deepest majestic black and shined in the light. His sharp beak and claws were black too, but they looked like they were made up of a polished black metal instead of bone. (A.N. I am just describing how the beak and claws look. They are made up of bones like of regular birds.) He sat proudly on Naruto's shoulder, staring at all the occupants with his powerful eyes, his most striking feature. His eyes were of the same magical blue colour as Naruto's. No one knew what to say as they were mesmerised by the mythical creature.

"Hermione! He likes you!" Naruto exclaimed, breaking them out of their trance. Seeing their questioning gaze, he explained, "His name is Shadow, and as you saw, he can travel through shadows, but he only enters/exits from a person's shadow when he likes them."

"Merlin's beard Naruto! You never disappoint to surprise me," the warlock said. "He is a beautiful creature and an absolute representation of life from what I can sense from his magic. Though, I wonder if your eye colour is due to your bond with him or what other powers he possesses."

"Apart from regular phoenix abilities, even I don't know what all he can do. He reveals them if the situation demands, I have seen five. To count: shadow travel, black flames hotter than the Sun, he can talk to me telepathically, he can shape-shift to other birds to blend in, and—OUCH! You damn overgrown chicken! Alright! I won't tell!" Naruto shouted towards the bird who had just nipped his ear. While rubbing his ear to soothe his pain, he said, "You can see that he is very intelligent. At first, he behaves like any snot-nosed royal, but as you come to know him, he warms up. He only reveals his power as he sees fit. He doesn't think that you all need to know his other abilities. Though, if it is a coincidence or there is a reason for our same eyes, I don't know. He knows but denies telling me. As for his contribution in the creation of my wand, he insists on being present during the process."

"Alright, Naruto, we will do as Shadow sees fit. Now we shall start the process of making your wand. You will have to pour your blood and magic through the rune. First, think of a body for your wand and summon the part from the creature or tree for it. Then think of a core, and all the creatures who agree to help you will give their contribution, and you will be able to summon all the elements for your core. After all the elements are summoned, make the wand using your magic as you see fit. It is also your magic that will grant the wand its sentience. Ollivander and I will be right behind the protective barrier I will conjure and will interfere if something goes wrong," Dumbledore said and guided Ollivander and Hermione to a side and created a barrier between Naruto and them.

Naruto took a deep breath and scratched his companion's head, "Alright buddy, let's get to it." Naruto started to release his magic from his body and gained a white aura/hue around him, and extended his right arm. Shadow took off from Naruto's shoulder and hovered in front of him. He slashed Naruto's palm using his wings, showing their sharpness. Without even flinching, Naruto channelled his magic downwards to the runes as his blood dripped down. Suddenly, the runes lit up as Naruto gasped, and his eyes rolled back. His limping body levitated a little bit, irresponsive to the frightened screams from the other three occupants there.
