I don't own anything

Prologue

I was lying on the ground. The noise was so loud I couldn't help but open my eyes and saw the chaos all around me. The fire was the first thing that enters my vision, followed by rubbles and debris of all sizes on the once cleansed floor, with the constant flashing of red light, notifying everyone of the grim situation.

I struggled to get up and did a self-examination of my body. A few bruises here and there, nothing broken.

I'm still functional.

I looked around to see if there was any survival and noticed a woman with long white hair lying unconscious next to me. She was the Director of Chaldea, where I was currently employed.

She was someone I saved when I detected something was wrong.

I did an examination on her. A light concussion and a few cracked ribs. Most lightly due to my tackle but overall her life was not in any danger.

I picked her up in princess carrying way and scan around to find the exit out of this hell fire but unexpectedly noticed a black hair boy sitting next to a boulder 20 times his size holding somebody's hand.

I ran over with the Director in hand to see what the guy was trying to do and see the upper-half a pink-hair girl with glasses and blood trickling down her face. The other half was under the giant boulder.

It was a miracle the girl was still alive but it won't be for long until she…

Suddenly rubble started to fall down on the boy and I acted immediately.

"ISA"

I draw the rune in the air, aiming at the falling rubble and it halted in the air like an invisible hand just catch it.

But it won't stay there for long so I sprinted toward the boy with Reinforcement and tackle him out of the way right in time as the rock for down on where he was just a second ago.

We rolled over each other and I ended up on top of the boy while the Director fell off and rolled over to the side. My face was only a few centimeters away from him. We looked deep into the other's eyes and I noticed that his eyes were very blue, just like my mother's.

The situation would have been awkward if not for the fact that everything around them was literally on fire.

"Are you okay?" I asked

"Y…Yeah. Thank you. You saved me there" The black-hair replied, still in a daze of what just happened.

"Then hurry and get up, we'll get bury if we don't get out of here" I urged him as I pulled him up.

"Wait! There's still someone here, we need to help her" he screamed as he pointed at the pink-hair girl

I wanted to say no and pointed out the fact that it was impossible to save her. She was already a lost cause.

Yet, I hesitated when I looked into his eyes, firm and resolute. He wouldn't leave until he saved the girl. That was what I got from looking into his eyes.

Tsk… Dammit! This brought back some unpleasant memories for me.

"It's alright Senpai. Please leave... you're just wasting time" The pink-hair urged despite being in immeasurable pain

"I'm not leaving without you!" The boy snapped back

I sighed at this and considered what to do.

I could take this boy and the Director out of here and saved both of them. Even if he resisted, I could just knock him out and carried two people with Reinforcement.

However, it would take too much time to bring both of them out of here and then came back to look for other survivors. I wanted to save as many as I can.

On the other hand, if I stayed back and tried to save this girl that was at death's door with little chance of survival...

Say that I actually managed to save her then I would only have to carry one person and the boy can take care of her. Giving me more space to save others in need.

"..."

...Well the choice is obvious from the start

I walked toward the boulder and put my hand on it. It burned my hand but I ignored it

"Trace on"

I'll surpass you old man. Just you see!

Circuit-like lines started spreading around the boulder. I take in the in and out of it and also pick up the condition of the pink-hair girl as well. Normal people would have puked if they knew the state of her lower half right now but not me.

So the target here was to get this girl out without causing any more damage to the girl's body.

Option 1: Destroy it.

No. Too risky the small debris could cause more harm. Rejected

Option 2: Split it in half

Possible. But depending on where and how I split it, the girl might get crushed again. Rejected

The gear in my mind ran at full speed, trying to think of a way. There wasn't much time left. They can't stay here any longer. The fire was reaching them and the falling debris might get a drop on them anytime.

No. Stop having unnecessary thoughts. One problem at a time. Just like how mother taught.

If splitting it in half isn't possible then what about splitting it multiple times!

I smirked. Already have a game plan, I got down to business.

Pushing my prana inside the boulder. I split it both sides in the middle of the boulder close to the pink-hair. Letting them fall to the side.

The only piece of debris of concern was like a wall crushing in on the pink-hair vertically. Light enough for me to lift it with Reinforcement. But I would need help.

"Hey. When I lift this up, you pull her out, understand?"

The black-hair just stand there, he seemed to be in some sort of daze after seeing what I just did. By the look of it, he wasn't very familiar with magecraft, so he was just someone whose only reason here was because of his compatibility with Rayshifting, someone whose purpose was just to fill in the number. In other words, a normal person.

Well damn. Just my luck. I wholeheartedly blamed you for this Dad.

"HEY! Do you want to save her or not?" I put more force in my voice this time to snap him back to reality

"Ah!... Ye…Yes. M'am" was his intelligent replied.

Don't call me M'am! We're basically the same age. Gezee!`

I reinforced my body to the limit that I could manage and lift the debris up. I hold it for a few seconds. Enough for the black haired boy to pull out the girl.

When she was secured. I dropped it, causing the floor to shake a little.

Looking over to the other two. I saw the girl in a critical situation and immediately ran over to heal her.

But I'm not very good at healing magecraft. The best I could do is to make sure the blood stop bleeding.

I looked at her face and realized she only had very little time. She looked back at me and said: "Thank you, Senpai. For trying to… save me, but I'm afraid that… it's too…late".

"Girl, you're not dead yet so stop saying nonsense. We'll get you out of here and save your life and that is final" I declared "You go carry the Director, I'll take care of her" I signaled the black hair toward the still unconscious director

He nodded and immediately approach the white-hair woman.

I lifted the girl up and carried her like a sack so that I wouldn't cause any more damaged to her lower half.

It was then that the Red light started blaring more intensely followed by a notice from Chaldea.

"Warning to observation staff. Chaldea's condition has changed. Shiba's near future observation data is being overwritten. The survival of the human race on earth for the next hundred years cannot be confirmed. The future of mankind cannot be guaranteed."

What the hell is happening?

"Central bulkhead is now sealed. Commencing interior cleansing in 60 seconds."

"We're trapped... I'm sorry...This is all my fault." The girl said but sound nothing more than a whisper

"No it's... you didn't have..." the teenage boy said before I cut in

"It's not your fault. We choose to stay and save you." I put more force in my voice to make sure the girl understood that and not to feel guilty about what happened. "And don't curse us to die so early just yet. I can still get us out. I can blow that bulkhead to smithereens if given enough time. So let's get moving" I finished and started advancing

The boy seemed to regain hope and followed me with the Director on his back.

The both of us ran toward the exit but I made sure not to go too fast since I wouldn't be able to protect him and the director if they were too far away. And the girl's body might not be able to take it.

But before we got to the stair leading to the bulkhead, a giant rubble fell down right in front of us. Blocking the way and forcing us back. More and more similar size debris followed and destroyed the stair.

Dammit

I scanned around to look for an alternative route but we were surrounded not by just rock but burning infernor everywhere else.

I raised my left hand and pointed it at the direction of the boulder in front. Prana thumped on my left arm, showing my family crest. The Tohsaka Crest. I overcharged my Gandr attack and make them into a Finn shot.

I shot them at the rock and it exploded. I did this again to the others in my way and made sure no debris fell in my direction.

After clearing up everything. Seeing that the stair was ruined but the distance toward the bulkhead wasn't that far.

I can certainly jump up there with Reinforcement but not while carrying someone.

Tsk. What to do? What to do?

I searched around for something, anything to solve her dilemma here, but all around me were wreckage and fire.

Wait! That's it! The wreckage! I can use them as a pedestal to jump

And there was just so happened to be a large enough wreckage to use right next to me. Now all I had to do was bounced off of it and get to the bulkhead. Then destroyed it and got everyone out of here.

"Ok. Listen up. I'm going to jump toward the door and carrying each person at a time. You stay here and make sure not to get crushed. Understand?"

"Yeah. Be careful" He nodded

She turned around, Reinforcing her legs to the maximum, and was about to jump but then...

"Reestablishing contact with suitable designee number 48 and designee number 49. Starting unsummon program. Begining Spiritron Conversion. Rayshift beginning in...3...2...1..."

You son of the...

"All procedures order: Commencing"

And then there was only darkness.
