A girl with half white and half red hair sat in a chair within the hospital after being treated for a serious second degree on her face. The doctors claimed it was probably a small miracle that her eye was not harmed in any way though.
'This all his fault' she thought to herself
She continued to sit there alone after being told to leave the room by her father. Since he did not want her to hear what he was going to do next.
She raised her hand to touch the bandage around her eye. The one that burned by her mother tossing boiling hot water on her face. The girl again did not know why her mother just decided to throw boiling hot water on her youngest child all of sudden but was sure it had something to do with her father. He had to be the reason somehow she thought to herself
"Seriously you need to stop this as it's dangerous," a mother with green hair said.
This who Shoto assumed was her son injured almost worse than herself
Though cause she could not currently see out of both her eyes. She did not notice when the green haired kid was poking at her. Having left his mother's side as she was not arguing with the hospital staff herself.
"So did you awaken your quirk already," he asked "I heard that sometimes when you are in danger that when they activate. That could result in a trip to the hospital like this"
'Huh,' she thought confused.
"My quirk activate awhile ago though..." Shoto started to say before she was cut off.
"That so amazing so mind me asking what it is," Izuku said as she sure that was the name his probably mother said earlier
"It's my father's and mother's," she told her as she displayed her ice and fire quirk briefly
"Amazing! Your quirk is amazing" he said.
"Like I said this..." she started to say being interrupted.
"It's your quirk and no one else," Izuku told her
"But" Shoto started
"Can your parents use both fire and ice?" the green haired boy asked her
She shook her head no
"Then that your quirk, not theirs. Theirs might make up yours but that how quirks work. You either get one or fusion. Yours is not as unique as a friend of mine though" he said
"My quirk...this is mine," she said looking at her hands in shock
"My quirk going to be just as amazing as yours and my friend's. It just being stubborn and does want to awaken" he said
Shoto saw Izuku was serious as just what was he doing that put him in this state worse than her
"No," she said suddenly
"Huh," Izuku said confused.
"Stop it your quirk will come but how can you use it if you hurt yourself too badly," she told
"But" he tried saying
"No buts you will stop trying to force it," Shoto said glaring at him
"What if I am actually quirkless though. I can not become a hero" he said
"Pretty much everyone has a quirk that just how the world is. What is the chance you really do not have one? It's just being stubborn like you said earlier or your is just unique. Like mine and your friends" Shoto said.
What if I am part of the 20% though Izuku asked
Shoto looked at him confused
"Its thought that 20% of the world's population is quirkless," he said
"Then I will be your sidekick and you will be the hero. I will work for you as part of your hero agency" she said
"That not normally how things work though" Izuku informed her
Though she seemed to have cheered up from before so he just decided to go along with it as no iron clad rule said the owner of the Hero agency had to be the pro hero. You could employ others to work under you as not every pro hero could owner their agency after all.
"If it comes to that then I will be the owner and I employ you as a..." Izuku started to say
"Sidekick," Shoto told him with her eyes showing how serious she was about this
They continued to talk about this for a while before finishing things up.
"So I will accept this my quirk and you will stop hurting yourself to awaken yours then. Then I will become your sidekick in the future" she told him
"How as we might not meet again," he said
"I am not going to be that hard to find though since I am pretty sure not many will look or have a quirk similar to me," Shoto told him
"I guess you're right" he replied
It was an elemental quirk but having two opposing elements seemingly equally was not normal
"Then we will find each other than" they both agreed
