The Entrance Exam
Izuku was nervous . Any student would be nervous on an exam day, but the reason behind his nervousness wasn't the exam. Well… it was, but it was only part of it. The major reason was the fact that everyone at his test center was staring at him. And for good reason. More than half of his green tracksuit was dragging on the ground behind him, probably collecting a lot of dust and rips. Looking around, he saw that some people with transformation-type quirks had already transformed.
Maybe I should transform too and check if anything has changed, he thought. Nodding to himself, he took a deep breath and activated his quirk. After some white smoke, the tracksuit was now tightly fitting around his tall and bulky frame. But something was different about his transformation this time.
Before, when he used to transform, he could only do it for a few seconds, before he started to feel the strain on his muscles. But there was no strain this time. He felt as if he hadn't transformed at all. Unbeknownst to him, everyone was, once again, staring at him, but this time in awe.
Is this due to One for All? He thought.
Before he could ponder any further, Present Mic announced that the exam had begun. All the other examinees ran inside the gate, excepts Izuku. Not wanting to be left behind, he took the first step towards the open gates, still in his transformed state.
Which turned out to be a bad idea, because the step resulted in a hurricane that blew away the examinees and also a crater on the ground, with a footprint in the middle. Luckily, no one was injured, and they were able to get back up. If they weren't in the middle of an exam, they would have likely turned around and given Izuku a piece of their mind, but instead, they chose to run inside the battle center.
Well… at least I know it works now. Izuku thought. Not wanting to hurt anyone, even by accident, Izuku developed a viable strategy within seconds. He realized that if he has All Might's speed and strength, he must also have the same durability. He also realized that All Might could leap to the center of the fake city, much more quickly than any others. Which meant that he could also leap to the center of the city before everyone else.
So, Izuku bends on his knees, similar to how All Might did when he grabbed onto his leg 10 months ago and jumped. He tried his best to keep his eyes open and landed roughly in the middle of the city. Although, 'landing' would not be the right way to describe it. It was more like crashing, which can be excused due to it being his first time using his quirk.
Getting up and looking around, he saw only robots and no other examinees in sight. Good. Cuz this meant that he could do this…
" SMASH" he yelled, while closing his eyes, and punched the closest robot to him, which happened to be a three-pointer. Now normally, punching a robot made of metal would result in pain, maybe even swelling. But, this punch was enhanced by the power of eight wielders. So, instead of Izuku experiencing pain, the robot's body caved in like it was made of paper and the robot was destroyed.
After a few seconds, Izuku opened his eyes and winced after seeing the damage. He tried to hold back the output, but it seems that he still has a long way to go. As far as Izuku could look, he only saw a lot of destroyed robots and streets. He looked at his, still clenched, fist and couldn't help the smile that forms on his face. He remembered how he used to imitate All Might as a little kid, but now he could not only imitate the moves, but also the power.
Suddenly, a three-pointer whacked him from behind and threw him into a nearby building. He got up without a single scratch on him. Enhanced durability confirmed… he thought as he got up. He carefully took a step, trying to at least turn off One for All and not cause a hurricane every time he walked. He succeeded. Now he can choose to use the quirk or not.
He also decided that instead of using full-on punches, he could instead just flick his fingers. They would still likely be overkill against these robots, but at least that would minimize the collateral damage. He looked up to see the robots and smirked.
This should fun… was the last thing he thought before he jumped into action.
Present Mic had just entered the Observation Room, from where the UA teachers were going to be watching the practical part of the exam take place. He took his seat, next to Midnight. There was a mic in front of him through which he was supposed to announce the beginning of the exam. There were many screens, for the teachers to observe the students and appoint points.
Some of them laughed when they saw Izuku's oversized tracksuit dragging behind him, not knowing his quirk. Aizawa took a peek from his sleeping bag and went back into his cocoon, without giving any reaction. But the laughter turned to surprise when they saw the young boy get covered by white steam. When the steam dispersed, they let out gasps when they saw that he had turned into a much taller and muscular person.
This caused all of them to look in All Might's direction, with suspicion in their eyes. Without saying a single word, they all knew what the other was thinking. Aizawa had gotten out of his sleeping bag after witnessing the transformation. He prayed to whatever gods that existed that the green-haired boy was not who he thinks he is. They all decided that without further evidence they couldn't claim anything. So, they turned back to the screen.
After a few minutes, Present Mic spoke into his mic, "RIGHT LET'S START" he yelled into the mic. When he saw that none of the students make a move, he continued, "THERE ARE NO COUNTDOWNS IN REAL LIFE! GO GO GO!". That got them all running inside. When the green-haired boy took his first step he caused a hurricane.
Everyone in the room, once again, stared at All Might expecting something… anything. Except for Nedzu, of course, who was sipping on his tea and having the time of his life. All Might was just grinning at his successor, oblivious of all the people staring right at him.
Aizawa looked at the grinning emancipated All Might and then at Nedzu, who winked at him with a smile while also giving him a thumbs up. He groaned. He would have to be All Might's son's Homeroom teacher. He could already feel the headache and the lack of sleep he would be subjected to this year.
So, he decided to take the most logical course of action in this situation. He crawled back into his sleeping bag and slept. Might as well get as much sleep as he can, before classes started. After all, he has to train not only Endeavour's son, who already passed the Recommendation Exam, but now he also has to put up with All Might's son. He might have to get that new coffee machine he saw on the market.
Unbeknownst to him, Present Mic and Midnight were already planning on gifting him the machine before the school year starts.
After a few minutes of watching the same boy flicking his fingers, the Principal decided that it was time to let the Zero-pointers loose.
Izuku wiped the sweat off his forehead. The explosions from the robots he punched didn't hurt him, but they packed heat. After a few minutes of flicking his fingers, destroying robots, and entire streets along with them, he concluded that his new buff form either does not have a time limit or lasts so long that he isn't feeling strained yet. Either way, he felt excited. Right now, he felt like he could take on anyone without breaking a sweat.
Suddenly he felt the ground rumble and saw that everyone was running away from something. Looking over he saw a humongous robot that looked like the Zero-pointer on the pamphlet.
That's a bit excessive…, especially for a high school entrance exam. He said mentally and also started moving away from the giant robot. But a voice calling for help made him stop. He turned back to see the same girl who had saved him from tripping. She was stuck under some rubble, and the robot was heading straight for her.
Izuku didn't know what had happened, but it wasn't hard to figure out. One moment he was on the ground staring at the scene in front of him, and the next he's in the air, right in front of the robot's head. Having no time to react, he did the first thing that came to mind. He swung his fist in front of him. The impact caused the robot's head to cave in and the entire thing fell backward away from the girl who had been trapped.
Izuku sighed in relief. Then he screamed. He was falling towards the ground. With his durability, he wouldn't get hurt. But he wasn't used to falling from high places, so it still scares him. Suddenly, he feels a hand slap him on the cheek, preventing his fall.
Present Mic announced the end of the exam. And all the students made their way out of the test center. Izuku deflated and went back to his normal form so he could fit in the bus.
Once Izuku reached home, he took a shower and sat on his study table with his analysis notebook opened in front of him. This was a different one from his 'Hero Analysis for the Future' notebooks. This was completely dedicated to his original quirk, although he hadn't filled as many pages.
Now though, he had a lot of things to add to the notes on his quirk. Making sure to leave out One for All, of course. First, he writes about the obvious enormous strength he received and the lack of control he has over said strength. The durability and the speed came next. He pretty much repeated his notes on All Might's abilities. He also mentioned that there was no backlash as All Might had suspected.
He also made a mental note of being careful if he had to fight any of his classmates during his Hero classes. A single hit from using his full power smashes could easily kill or maim someone.
Then he wrote down a few questions he needed to ask All Might the next time they meet. Finally, he decided to test whether he has a time limit or not. The best way to do that would be to maintain the form for as long as he can. Nodding to himself, he took out a fresh pair of clothes, these being much bigger than the ones he was wearing and got changed. With a deep breath, he inflated into his muscle form forming a puff of smoke. He then sat back on his bed.
Which was another bad idea on his part because as he sat down on the bed, the thing broke under his weight and he got stuck.
Good thing his mom wasn't home from work yet, otherwise he would have to give her an explanation. He got up and looked back to his broken bed.
So my weight has also increased… he thought to himself. Great, now he would have to sleep on the floor and get a new bed. He sighed. It was going to take a long time to get used to this.
