A/N: *pops into existence after... 7 months* Hello there. So I know yall probably want to wring my neck but to be fair I had the worst case of writers block and I had no motivation. But here is a small update now that I somewhat have my groove back. Hope yall like it.
Later that evening when the ladies came home, Evie had quite the wardrobe for her. Even though she had told Regina that she only wanted enough clothes for a week, the former mayor would here none of it. "We aren't sure how long you'll be here, but if you are here for a while you don't want to wear the same 6 outfits all the time. Besides, it's nice being able to spend money on someone again." And so, the closet in the guest room which Evie would be staying was now filled with an array of clothes from casual, sports to even a few more elegant outfits which Regina had insisted on because "You never know".
While Evie was upstairs unloading the purchases for the day, Regina was in the kitchen preparing her famous lasagna as she spoke on the phone with Henry.
"No, I don't know anything about a place called "Auradon" mom. Then again there are a lot of things I'm still learning about being the Author." Henry said, trying to recall anything about the realm his brunette mother asked about.
"That's alright, Henry. It was probably just another stray portal that opened." Regina answered, trying to decide whether or not to mention to Henry about the "connection" she had with her new house guest. However, being the observant young man he was, Henry noticed a shift in his mothers voice.
"Mom, that's not why you called me. What's going on? Did something happen when Evie came through?"
Always the observant one ,Regina thought to herself with a chuckle. "There is dear. You see, while out today Evie told me a bit about her life back in Auradon…." Regina proceeded to tell Henry a simplified version of what the younger teen had told her. Coming to the end of the story, Henry sat on his bed in his dorm for a moment taking everything in.
"Wow. That's… mom you realize there are a bunch of parallels with her story and yours right?"
"I know, Henry. But that's not all." Regina replied, trying to figure out how to tell him.
"Mom, whatever it is you can tell me. Maybe I can help. Please?" Henry said, becoming slightly worried with how trepidation filled Regina's voice.
"Henry, her name, is the same name I choice to give my daughter if I ever had one. She…" Regina swallowed, "she came through with a necklace with my family crest on it. She also told me that her mother, her mother was the Evil queen in her realm." Her voice soft as she said this.
"… I- mom- wow." Henry stuttered as he processed what the former queen told him.
"That's not all. I found out who her father was helping her fill out paperwork at the hospital." Regina wasn't sure how to say this. She was barely able to believe it herself when she saw.
"Mom? Mom, who is it?"
"Baron… Baron Facilier."
"Facilier? Mom, as in Dr. Facilier… the Witch Doctor, the Shadow Man?"
"Yes, and that's where me and Evie have yet another connection."
"What do you mean?"
"I knew the Witch Doctor of the Enchanted forest. We were lovers for a time."
"Okay, wow. So, you both "know" the witch doctor."
"Henry, it's not that simple." Taking a breath to steel herself, Regina leaned against the kitchen island wrapping her arms around herself as if to protect her. "We were lovers while I was married to Leopold… and I became pregnant with his child".
