"Huh, so you finally finished it, Rai-chan." Shino Sosaki, my aunt, also known as Mandalay from the Wild Wild Pussy cats, said to me after I finished exercising and was panting heavily on the ground.
"Yeah." A 10-year-old me replied.
"I admit, I thought Amaya was lying when she said her kid started to exercise every day like a madman," She said, slightly amused, "And I also admit I believed you would've given up on the third day, but here we are after three years."
"I think It comes with old age the disbelief on the younger generation..."
"Ha! Don't say that to Ryuko(Pixie-bob) If you wish to stay alive."
Three years have passed since I decided to begin my training to get stronger. Almost every day (On Sundays, I rested), I trained, and the game helped by sending new quests to motivate me. I wasn't sure if Saitama's workout was safe for a 7 year's old kid to do, but [Gamer's Body] made sure everything was in place the next day.
Well, almost everything, the pain was still there, and during the first year adapting and raising the difficulty from thirty pushups, squats and situps to one hundred, it was almost unbearable. Fortunately, the quest rewards were better back then, and I even received a perk after one entire year of training.
[Training Maniac] - You became proficient in training your body.
10% Physical Attributes gaining speed.
You don't get smelly after training and sweating.
The thing is that I didn't know I already had another perk.
[Good Memory] - It's self-explanatory, really.
You remember almost everything you experienced in your life.
10% Intelligence Attribute gaining speed.
Mother and Dad were worried at the beginning when they saw their son enter their house, barely standing. However, after I explained to them I wanted to exercise to become more powerful to protect the people I care for, they even started to support me, helping with better diets, workout plans, and sometimes even training me. They probably thought exercising was how I decided to cope with my fear of their deaths, which wasn't entirely untrue, as training helped me to let go.
Dad also taught me some self-protection moves during our training session, but I don't think it was wise to teach a kid Krav Maga. Mother agreed with me because when she found out he was teaching me, the man had to sleep on the sofa for one whole week, and I had to promise to never use It against anyone unless it was a life-death situation. Fortunately, The Gamer system made me learn everything much faster, and we already had enough lessons for my skill to develop by the time mother stopped us. After that, I self-learned, but my development was much slower.
[Krav Maga] - Lvl 13
Military self-defense and fighting system derived from a combination of techniques sourced from Boxing, Wrestling, Judo, Aikido, and Karate. 13% more damage inflicted when fighting using Krav Maga.
Besides my now active lifestyle, my family decided to move to a small city called Iiyama in the Nagano District to be closer to my mother's family, a few months after my tenth birthday. Granny and Grandpa lived in Nagano, where the Wild Wild Pussycat's agency was built, and my Aunt Mandalay worked as a Pro-Hero.
It was sad to say goodbye to Reiko. I cried, she cried (Which was a big thing for the girl because she rarely showed emotions), heck, even mom cried! It was also a drag to adapt myself to a new school.
Guess what happened to the new quirkless boy? Yeah, nothing. The new school was notified about my previous experiences, and they somehow managed to make the kids not bully me. Advantages of living in a small town where everyone knows each other, so you can blackmail kids about telling their parents what they were doing. The disadvantages, however, were that no one wanted to approach me, so I became rather lonely.
We can't win them all, I guess. Not that I really suffered for that. Sometimes I wished I had someone to talk to, so I would just chat with random people on the internet while gaming and then my social necessity would be cured for some time. A slightly extroverted kid who had no friends, that's who I was.
"Now, Kiddo, let's go home, shall we? You need to take a bath to go to the hospital."
I got confused, "Why do we need to go to the hospital?" But then I remembered a very relevant fact, mother was pregnant.
Seeing my face, Mandalay nodded and continued, "Yup, Your mom went into labor; your dad called me when you were doing your last set. He's taking her to the hospital, and we're supposed to meet them when we're done here." She smiled, "Kota is going to be born today!"
A huge smile appeared on my face, "Yes, Yes, Yes! What're we waiting for? Let's go!
I sat in the waiting room with Dad and The Pussycats, which were in their civilian clothes. I could barely contain my anxiousness, and I'm pretty sure that If [Gamer's Mind] didn't activate, I would've been freaking out by now. Therefore, I decided to focus on other stuff.

Training every day for three whole years brought its benefits. Unfortunately, my attributes didn't raise that much for three entire years of training, but I guess this was expected as my body was still a child's. Even though I have [Gamer's Body], I still am human.
This would also explain why I had much more points on the mental attributes. Probably my strength will boost when I hit puberty. Besides, I haven't used my 55 points yet.
My Intelligence and Wisdom also hit a bottleneck as I finished all the books I had at home and didn't pursue to get others. I promised internally to rearrange my schedule so that I could train those two. Getting advanced grades books at school would be easy to practice my Intelligence, while I could play online chess and other strategy games to grind my Wisdom.
At first, I believed my HP and SP would increase at a predetermined rate, which had a ratio of 1:10. However, after exercising and raising a few of my Strength and Vitality attributes, my Health and Stamina reached higher numbers. I tried to see a pattern but got nothing.
I wished I could see more information about others using [Observe] to compare myself with them, but what I could get Wasn't much. However, It showed enough to get an average of the people around me.
Civilian levels stood between 12 and 15, depending on their age and how fit they seemed, so I wasn't that behind them. Children of my age were at level 6, 7, or 8, but there were a few exceptions like me. These kids who had higher levels almost always were the athletic ones, which meant that they somehow gained EXP on their own by exercising. I guess that even though they weren't really 'playing,' they would still gain EXP by doing chores, exercising, and helping others. The only difference was that I could see while they couldn't.
Unfortunately, I couldn't see the heroes' information with [Observe], as their levels were definitely much higher than mine. I looked at my father.

Rei Izumi is an extroverted man with an energetic personality, he works as a hero with his wife, and together they are 'The Water Hose.' He loves his job and his family more than anything.
Rei is currently anxious and worried.
Anyway, even though my attributes didn't evolve at an overpowered rate, at least my Hero and Villain points gathered a lot! With house chores, cat saving, helping grannies cross the street, and daily training, I accumulated a considerate amount, and If I kept this rate, I would be able to buy a quirk by the time I'm fourteen, a few months before U.A.
Not only that, but my daily training also awarded me with Villain Points, which made it possible for me to gather the amount necessary to buy a potion! Now, the real question would be which one to get?
Well, a problem for the future me because I have to calm my father down.
"Hey, old man, everything okay?"
"Huh? Rai? Y-Yeah, everything is fine! Why wouldn't it be good? See? I'm fine!"
Yup, definitely freaking out. I held my urge to laugh, "Relax, Dad, I know she will be fine, my quirk told me."
"Your quirk, huh? Since when have you had a quirk?" Yawara Chatora (Tiger) said.
"Oh, I kept it a secret from you guys, but since I was born, I can see the future." I laughed to myself, as it was actually half-true, "So I know for sure that everything is going to be okay."
"Yeah, kid? Then tell us something that's going to happen in the future." Aunt Mandalay snorted.
"Hmmm, I know for sure that Ryuko-nee will stay single forever!"
"Hey! I'm gonna kick your butt, Rai-chan!" Pixie-Bob screamed at me, earning a few glares from the nurses passing by.
We all laughed at her expense, and even she chuckled a bit, realizing that I said that just to lighten the mood.

Before I could think more about that, a doctor appeared in the waiting room. Time seemed to stop, and everyone looked at him anxiously.
He looked relatively young for a doctor, probably in his mid-late twenties. He had blond hair and blue neon eyes that resembled the doctor who attended to me when I was in a coma. Are they relatives? But what is he doing at this end of the world city?
"Both are okay! It's a healthy boy!" The young doctor said with a smile, "follow me, let's see them."
We followed him through a hallway until we reached the room where my mom and little brother were. Instead of going in, I pulled the man's sleeve.
"Yes, young one, is there anything I can do to help you?"
"Do you have a relative with eyes like yours, but instead of blue, they are green?" I asked and then added, bowing when I saw the surprised look on his face, "I'm sorry if this is a sensitive topic for you!"
"Hahahaha! No, not at all! I was just surprised you met my mother once," He snorted, "After all, she lives a little bit far from here."
I smiled at his friendly demeanor. Then, a crazy idea rushed through my mind, "Sir, are you single?" I asked as my smile turned into a sinister grin.
The next day, when we arrived home, my face was aching because I couldn't stop grinning!

Muahahaha, I will make all the ships real in the future! I just fucking need to remember which one I had to match! Can things get even better?
"Rai-Chan, come, mom needs to tell you something!" Mother told me while sitting on the sofa in our living room as she breastfed Kota
My heart almost sank. I fucking activated Murphy's law.
"What's It, mum?" I asked, fearful about what was to come.
"Your father and I talked, and we decided that I should retire from being a hero to take care of you and Kota."
What?
I didn't know what to say. Was that supposed to happen? Is that how she will die? No. I was sure that a villain killed the 'Water Hose.'

Amaya Izumi is a kind and calm woman. She works with her husband, and together they are 'The Water Hose.' She decided to quit her dream job as a hero to raise her newborn son. Amaya is about her eldest son, who always waited for her and her husband to return from work, no matter what time it was.
She is currently happy.
After I read that, I had to make an effort not to cry. My mother was giving up the job of her dreams to take care of us.
"Are you s-sure?" I asked, my voice cracking in the end, "It is your dream..."
She shook her head, "No, you dummy. My dream is to see my babies grow strong, proud, and happy."
After she said those words, I could not hold myself anymore and started to cry, relief flowing into my chest that she would be safe. "Hn," I nodded while letting all the emotions I held since I found out about their destiny go out.
I could've stopped her and said that she should keep working the job of her dreams. It wouldn't be impossible to work and raise us at the same time. She did it once with me, after all. But I didn't. She could always go back to work after the muscular went to jail. It was for the best if she stopped for a few years. I know I was being selfish, and I don't doubt that the butterfly would flap its wings and many people were going to die because she wasn't there to save them, but I'd made my decision.
I'm sorry, mother.
I was selfish.
But I regret nothing.
"Erm... So, I wanted to know, do you want to be my girlfriend?" A thirteen-old me asked a petite girl with black hair, sharp feline yellow eyes, and cat tail and ears.
I was nervous, yeah, but I had confidence in my chances. It might be biased, but I'm not an ugly guy. Heck, I can even be considered way above average! Not a model, but definitely with some handsome features.
Medium-length light blue hair with the back part tied in a ponytail while the front was a little mess, as some strands covered my forehead and the remaining went sideways. My eyes were of a gold color, resembling an Amber color like my mother's. Meanwhile, my face was round like my father's, and I had a sharp jawline which gave me a handsome vibe. On top of that, I was rather tall for my age, at 171cm.

A flurry girlfriend!
Ai Kobayashi, a very lazy and cunning girl, just like a fucking cat! She was my first girlfriend, a good friend, an astounding person, and her tail was fluffy. We kept in contact and continued to be friends even after we broke up.
We studied at the same school, and she was a senpai of mine. Our love story was kinda funny. When we started dating, we already knew each other for some time as both of us were in the music club and acquainted. Back then, She used to hang out with a boy while I was having a 'Casanova' period of my life. Hey, What can I do right? I got a handsome face, so I had to use it properly before settling down. Anyway, one day she argued with this boy, and they ended up breaking up. Guess who was there to give her a friendly shoulder? Yup, me. Thus, we went from acquaintances to friends, and after a few months, I asked her to be my girlfriend.
Now, if you are curious about how I even had friends at school. Fortunately, after a few months of solitude, people started to warm up to me, so my social life went from nonexistent to known, and in three years, I became a 'celebrity' at school.
For the girls, I was the hot quirkless guy with a beautiful voice from the music club. While for the boys, I was the quirkless extroverted guy who was great at gaming and playing soccer. Yup, I love 'The Gamer' quirk. I basically have the potential to be good at everything as long as I grind it!
Funny to think that my life went from being bullied when a kid to being the popular guy at school. Yikes!
During these three years, I also kept working on my status and a few of my skills.

My theory was correct. After I hit puberty, my physical stats started to increase at an abnormal rate, and that's because I didn't even put my extra points at them yet. Not only that, but I gathered almost all the necessary Hero Points to buy my quirk. Yeah! I'm not going to be called quirkless anymore.
I also decided which potion to buy at the Shop. And I bought the [Vitality Potion] because It will be helpful to train for more time after I purchase my water control quirk, which can be considered an emitter type.
When I bought the potion, a small glass filled with a yellow liquid appeared on my hands. Shrugging the weirdness of all that, I drank it. It tasted like passion fruit juice. Which is my favorite drink. How did it know that? I will never know. Another question for the 'unanswered questions' box. Anyway, the fact is that I went from 20 Vitality to 25.
I also grinded some levels of my skills and even got new ones.

Let me tell you, I was surprised at how good some of those skills became after their early levels. Needless to say that [Krav Maga] and [MMA] were the most important. When I turned twelve, I started bothering mom and dad to teach me how to fight. Therefore, I ended up learning whatever was left of Krav Maga from my father, who was surprised at how good I was, and mother taught me MMA, her specialty. They were heroes, so of course, they knew fighting styles as they had to use while dealing with villains who could counter their quirks.
It was another surprise when I reached level 15 and unlocked a new move, and even though I already knew how to do it before, when I tested it against dad, I found out that the swiftness and the damage were incomparably better. Later I also unlocked new moves on levels 20 and 25.
Not only that, my 'support' skills were another pleasant blow. In the beginning, I thought they were only stuff for hobby and that the game transformed them into skills just to show my progress. How fortunately wrong I was because they became amazing for buffing my allies. When will I use them? You will see, as they will be useful.
At home, Mom adapted perfectly to the life of a housewife. Occasionally I would use [Observe] on her to check if everything was okay, and to my relief, she was happy and content with her life. Dad started working alone, but his skills were top-notch, and he managed to adapt well even without Mom's help.
Kota was three years old for some time already, and It was scary how much he looked like the boy of the memory I had. Cute face, messy black hair, sharp black eyes, and a red cap that Dad gave him on his second birthday. However, instead of hateful and grumpy, my little brother was very loving and kind, much like mom and Aunt Mandalay.
For now, everything is fine, and so I hope it stays like this.
I was wrong. Things went downhill one day after I thought that.
I was in the living room with Mom and Kota watching a random kid's program when the schedule changed to show urgent news. Apparently, a new villain had appeared in Nagano prefecture. He was a tall, blond man, and witnesses reported that he had a simple power-up quirk. The authorities called all the Heroes to search for the Villain who, so far, had killed 3 people and injured 5 more.
When I heard those words, It was like my mind had snapped, and memories I didn't know were there showed up.
Mandalay and Pixie-Bob explaining to Midoriya what happened
Two years ago, they were protecting civilians from a villain.
There is no better way for heroes to meet their end... An honorable death
Kota watching the news about his parents' death
Water Hose... A fantastic pair of heroes
But their wonderful lives...
...Were tragically cut short by one heartless criminal
My stomach lurched, my tongue dried up, and I even forgot to breathe. I felt on the brink of throwing up. I almost freaked out right there, and If it wasn't for [Gamer's Mind], I definitely would've.
I looked at mom and saw her looking at the tv, worried.
"Where is dad?"
"Rai, don't worry. He will be fine,"
"Mom, Where is dad?" I snapped
She looked confused at first due to my behavior, which was usually very chill and laidback, then she answered, "He will be home soon, but I'm sure that only for a quick lunch before he has to patrol again."
My body clearly relaxed with the news. Good, I still have time.
Over the years, I spent a lot of my time (Mostly at school) thinking about ways to at least manage to save my parents, even though a great weight was lifted off my shoulders when Mom retired. Unfortunately, it was painfully clear that I wouldn't be able to physically help against Muscular being quirkless and all, but that didn't stop me from at least trying something.
The plan was to use all of my support skills to give my father some advantage against the villain. However, in all of my stupidity, I overlooked the fact that I didn't know when the man would show up, and even more importantly, I had no idea if I would be able to use my skills at my father.
I was reckless, absurdly so, and I smacked myself internally to stop seeing things as an easy game, a challenging task to do when your life is a video game. The chances of dad meeting the man before I could do something were extremely high. Needless to say that I was very lucky my old man had to grab lunch and believe me when I say, nothing stops the guy from eating his meal, not even the job he loves so much.
Besides, I knew I would never be able to convince him not to go to work, and did I even want that? I remembered the flashbacks I had moments ago. My parents died protecting civilians. If I tell my father to stay, how many people will die? What is the right choice?
Logically speaking, sacrificing the hero so that there aren't more needless deaths. Emotionally speaking, I would save my father at the cost of civilians' lives. Or so I liked to think. Could I really do that? People were going to die, and I was the one who would decide if It was only one or more than that. The only problem was that I would need to sacrifice my own father to save the others. A thirteen years old kid, even if more mature, had such knowledge, and he had to make such a decision all by himself.
Anyway, I made my decision, one that I would regret for some time.
Knowing that I still had time, I hastily left mom to take care of Kota and began my preparations. It was a plan I had in my mind for a year already. Was it the best? Probably not, but considering It was one of the best options I had thought of, it was good enough for me as long as it worked.
First, cooking lunch, as the 15% on both HP and SP was essential.
"Hey, Rai-Chan, why did you decide to cook today? I thought today was your mother's day to do that."
"Well, dad, Y'know, as today you will probably have a hard time during patrol due to the new villain, I thought you would appreciate it if your son cooked some curry -your favorite food-" I shrugged, "Besides, I'm a better chef than mom, but it's better if we keep this info between us."
Smooth.
Well, almost. Mother happened to listen to me saying that, and let me tell you that not even 'The Gamer' can escape that woman's slap in the butt.
Second, make a musical performance while he is eating. Fortunately, I've been collecting different instruments as the years passed, and my voice was angelical (humbleness aside), so I had everything necessary at home.
"Ahh, Son, not that I dislike a live show, but don't you want to eat with us?" Dad asked me.
"Not at all, just thought you would like some music to relax before you leave to work. Besides, I'm not that hungry."
It was a lie. I was fucking starving.
Third, a motivational speech before he leaves. You know, the health bonus is always good.
"Now, you go out there and kick that ugly ass! And you better come back home if you want to know who my girlfriend is tomorrow."
"Rai, you already introduced Ai to us two months ago..."
"Shush Shush, who is that? Never heard that name before."
Well, I was only level 5 in [Oratory]. At least that was considered a motivational speech.
And Forth, last but not least, convince the man to patrol with one or more heroes, by any means necessary.
I waited for him at the front door, "Hey, I might sound crazy, but I just have a bad feeling, and I would really appreciate it if you could go on patrol with another hero, just for today."
"Rai, I told you already, there is nothing to worry abo..."
"If you don't call someone to go with you, I will tell mother you are betraying her with our neighbor, and believe me, I can forge false evidence," I cut him.
"Boy, Are you really threatening your father?" He narrowed his eyes at me, and I felt a cold shiver down my spine.
"O-oy, calm down! Please, just stop being stubborn and take someone with you, for god's sake!"
"Tsk, fine, I will ask Wolffman to go with me."
Hell Yeah!
"Thanks, dad! Now go kick some asses, will ya? And take care!" I grinned widely and gave him a tight hug. As far as I knew, I could never do that to him again.
I did all I could with what I managed to do with the not-so-many tools I had. After my dad left, I couldn't stop thinking about what I could have done differently. I should've tried (and failed miserably) to create some mechanism to help against Muscular, but I'm no genius when it comes to support items, as much as I don't doubt the system would help me. Or I could have worked a lot harder to earn Hero Points and maybe be able to help out in the fight, but, likely, I would've become a dead weight. Anyway, at the moment, I could only hope.
And hope I did... For one entire hour.
Until mother's cellphone rang while we were watching a Hero Show with Kota. I will never forget the look on her face when she looked at me. Amaya Izumi, the toughest woman I know and someone I promised myself to protect at all costs, was on the verge of collapsing with tears threatening to escape her eyes.
"I'm sorry, your father is in the hospital in critical condition... They don't even know if he will make it through." She said, barely a whisper, then she started to cry.
It was in moments like this that I thanked I had [Gamer's Mind].
Not that It worked that much because I also started to cry.
Fucking hell…
Yo, it's your magnificent author here! I should've said something in the first chapter, but meh, I forgot. So expect this author's notes to be kinda big.
This fic is one idea I had after reading like 10 fanfics about reincarnation with 'The gamer' out there, but I never found one of those about MHA, which is my favorite anime.
By the way, my fanfic is actually heavily inspired by Accidental Gamer Hero by Knowing Autumn. Check him out.
Okay, let's begin! This is my first fic of this site, and I'm actually pretty lost here with the HUD, not gonna lie. Anyway, I hope that you people are liking it so far. By the time I update this chapter, we already have 55 followers, which I think It's a lot, damn, 55 people want to read this! Hell Yeah!( Well now that I'm uploading the 'rewrite version' we have more than 150 Followers! Holy cheetus! Thanks a lot.)
Talking a little bit more about 'The Game' itself. Well, as much as It is OP, I'm a bastard of an author, so don't expect our MC to kick everyone's asses out there because I will not make him stupidly strong. He will be at the same level as the top three of his class (Todoroki, Bakugo, and Midoriya), and He WILL eventually get as strong as Izuku is on the Manga right now, but these things take time, so chill. About the Shop, which I believe will become a little bit controversial. The prices are high because having more than one quirk is already stupidly overpowered, so don't expect him to spam quirks all around. With time, he will acquire some quirks that will complement his main one -Water Control-, so just wait and relax.
Now, let's make a chapter breakdown for both the first and this one, shall we?
The story is in first-person (Even though I will use Third-person sometimes), and as you guys saw, It is from our MC telling his own experiences. I apologize beforehand if I make any mistakes in verbal tense. I will love tips to not make those!
Yes, our lovely MC got reincarnated as the firstborn of the Water Hose heroes! Everyone knew that already from the synopsis, so fuck it.
We have a little bit about how he spent his time in childhood, nothing very important, but It shows a little bit of his personality. He is smart, likes to study, sleep, gaming and music. He is outgoing, laidback and maintains a calm and relaxed facade(Mainly because of Gamer's Mind, otherwise his mind would always be in turmoil, as you saw). The most important thing, however, is how much he cares for his family.
I added Reiko as a friend so that I could have someone to link him with Class-B.
Then we have the game! And I obviously adapted it to be a quirk! Nothing very different from other fanfics, but I changed a few things, like not having CHA or Mana Points. Instead, we only have Stamina Points. Why did I do that? Well, quirks are a part of your body, so you are not doing magic, but actually using your muscles and cells or whatever you need to use for it to work. Therefore, Stamina points.
Hero and Villain points for the shop, which I already explained.
Skills. Every single skill has its importance. Be it support or attack. As you saw, he used his support skills to help his father.
Now, about the topic of him trying to do something to save his family. Before the rewrite it wasn't supposed to happen like that and I myself wasn't happy with the result, thus after talking with a reader (Thanks tgfofp) I kinda decided to take a different approach and change things a little bit. Now we don't have that much of a drama about him being selfish or selfless and etcetera. Fuck that shit, character development will come later!
I wanted to make a complex character, and I think I got it right. He is human and he will make a lot of mistakes, that's how we learn and grow up to be who we are now. Anyway, I wanted to show how hard the situation was. What choice would you make if you were in the same shoes as him? Would you hesitate? Would you do it differently? He doesn't want his family to die or suffer, as they are important to him, but it doesn't mean he would kill others as if it was nothing either as he isn't a bad person. His mother made things easier, as she decided to quit her job after many years of watching Rai worried about them. Yes It was on purpose to be easy. Remember, they are all humans, put yourself in her place, wouldn't you stop either if you could? Now, about him being selfish for not telling her to continue working as a Hero. It is bullshit. She quit because she wanted the best for both her sons. Even If he said something back there, Amaya would not have backed away from her decision, but our MC doesn't know this, does he?
As I said before, his opinion is biased. He said he would sacrifice others if it meant the safety of his family, but in practice, it is way harder, isn't it? He says he is selfish, but things aren't exactly like that. He was raised by two heroes, two good people with golden hearts, of course he is going to be a good person. Well, this isn't important now as I will discuss this further in the story.
