The Final Battle: Incineroar Enters the Ring! (Part 2)
Shooting down from the sky like a fiery rocket, Alexa's newly evolved Incineroar smashed into the torso of Giovanni's Machamp, knocking the Pokemon backwards a few steps. Before it could come to, it was slashed across the face and blinded by pain for a moment.
"Now use Double Kick!" Alexa cheered. Incineroar did as followed, performing two roundhouse kicks to the standing Pokemon, a technique that her Hitmonlee taught to many of Alexa's Pokemon. "Now use Flamethrower!" Thrusting its waist forwards, Incineroar sent a stream of fire from its belt that made Machamp fall backwards. Landing face up towards the ceiling, observing the Unown that swirled above the golden battlefield, Machamp was dazed.
"Machamp! Get up!" Giovanni shouted to his weakened Pokemon.
Squatting down on the ground, Incineroar raised Machamp's head with a clawed hand as it began its trash talk. 'Well look at you big guy,' The Alolan Starter said in a now deeper voice with a grin. 'Can't say I've ever fought a balloon animal before.' Incineroar said, pinching down on the bicep of the grounded Machamp.
'What?' The Machamp said groggily, still dazed from the prior attack.
'Well, I'm just sayin' that by the looks of those muscles you sure know how to use a needle, bud,' Incineroar said, taking a dig at Giovanni's "enhanced" Pokemon.
"Burn!" Alexa shouted across the field to the two battlers.
'Now where were we?' Incineroar said as it moved over and grabbed its opponents legs. Cloaking its body in dark energy, and its newfound strength, Incineroar whirled around in place holding Machamp by its ankles. Casting the Kanto fighting type into the air, Incineroar rocketed upwards delivering a punch to its abdomen, followed by a knee to its jaw. As the two Pokemon fell back down to the field below, Incineroar positioned itself to be on top of its opponent, performing a Body Press on its foe.
"Tobias!" Giovanni shouted, turning to his partner.
"Right! Phantom Force!" The cloaked servant shouted.
Bursting from the shadows below, cloaked in dark purple energy was Tobias's Spiritomb, which slammed into Incineroar's chest, carrying it towards the Unown ceiling. Incineroar tuned back in, pushing away from its opponent, and fell back to the ground below. Turning forwards, Spiritomb changed its trajectory to pursue Incineroar.
"Flamethrower!" Alexa called to her Incineroar. Landing on two feet and spinning around, Incineroar crossed its arms before firing an intense Flamethrower from the belt around its waist into the air at its attacker. Caught in the flames, the exposed Spiritomb was scorched as the intense flames curled around its body. Spiritomb retreated to its Keystone and let out a low humming noise, hitting the ground face down with a thud. Throwing its right hand into the air, and pounding its chest with its left, Incineroar threw its head back once more, letting out a roar as its opponent was now taken out of the battle.
"Nice one Incineroar!" Alexa cheered to her starter Pokemon.
"Arrr- Spiritomb return!" Tobias shouted in frustration, returning the grey stone to its ball. "Toxicroak, at the ready!" The Toxic Mouth Pokemon stood on two feet, throwing its two spiked fists out at either side.
Taking a glance at the toxic spikes that protruded from its hands, Alexa took Incineroar's ball in her hand. "Return Incineroar!" She called, sending the starter back to its ball. "Let's do this, Lucario!"
Across the field, Ash and his Lycanroc went toe to toe with Giovanni's Machamp once more. As opposed to earlier, Machamp was growing tired due to the accumulating damage from its burns, and encounter with the Heel Pokemon, Incineroar. Circling each other, Machamp clutched its injured right shoulder with one of its left hands, while Lycanroc's eyes turned a shade of red.
"Bullet Punch!" Giovanni yelled.
"Counter!" Ash called out in response.
The two Pokemon sprung into action at their trainer's commands. With a silver fist, Machamp struck Lycanroc in the black part of the fur which hung over its head. Pushing against the attack, Lycanroc threw Machamp off balance, exposing the side of its body. Lunging forwards, Lycanroc sank its fangs and claws into Machamp, taking it to the ground. After Counter dealt double the damage back to Machamp, the Kantonian fighting type hit the ground. Out like a light.
"Such ferocity," Giovanni said, returning his fainted Pokemon. "But now that is two of my Pokemon down and Mewtwo draws even nearer. Perrserker, stand by!" The Galarian cousin of Meowth burst on the field, and let out a barbaric roar. While the Pokemon itself just stood above 2 and a half feet, its Steel hide and orange eyes still made Perrserker out to be a rather tough and ruthless Pokemon.
Lycanroc panted heavily after sustaining damage from its battle with Machamp, but never broke eye contact with its opponent. The metallic feline stroked its beard before baring its sharp teeth in a grin at its target. Lycanroc lunged forwards and let out a growl, charging in on its opponent.
"Lycanroc, no!" Ash called out at his Pokemon who attempted to strike too early.
"Fake Out!" Giovanni declared. "Then Metal Claw!"
Perrserker let out a low chuckle. Once Lycanroc had arrived at its target it was met with two heavy hands slapping it on either side of its temples, leaving it dazed. Then, appearing below the canine's abdomen, Perrserker with a menacing smile, elongated its silver claws before driving them into its opponent. Lycanroc let out a high pitched whine as its exposed underbelly was jabbed. Falling over, Lycanroc hit the ground and let out a yelp as Perrserker lunged at it with another Metal Claw.
"Return!" Ash exclaimed, withdrawing his canine Pokemon before any more damage could be done to it. Perrserker continued, sinking its sharp claws into the floor of the golden battlefield. "Great work, Lycanroc," Ash said, to the Pokeball of his loyal companion. "Now it's your turn!" Ash declared, tossing his next Pokeball up into the air. Bursting from its ball and stretching out its orange wings was Ash's Charizard. Stomping either foot on the ground, Charizard blew an intense Flamethrower into the air as it was finally able to take on Giovanni in a proper fight.
While Charizard was preoccupied with the Viking Pokemon, Toxicroak and Lucario found themselves engaged in a physical battle of their own. Exchanging jabs and kicks respectively, both Pokemon began to feel the fatigue of contesting another high-stamina opponent. The saving grace for Lucario, however, was that its Steel typing gave it immunity to Toxicroak's poison.
Taking a backwards leap to avoid an incoming Brick Break, Alexa's Lucario formed a bright blue bone staff in its hands and twirled it in place. The two fighting types rushed inwards on one another, however thanks to its newly acquired weapon, Lucario found itself with some extra reachability. Smacking away at its opponent's hands with its staff, Lucario placed an open palm on Toxicroak's now exposed chest and sent a burst of Aura outwards from it. Toxicroak took the blast of Lucario's Force Palm and rolled back over in front of its trainer with swirls in its eyes.
"Weak! Pathetic!" Tobias shouted, returning his second Pokemon to be knocked out in this battle. Soon, an evil grin took the servant's face as he pulled out a Masterball. "It is time to use something stronger!"
Alexa focused her attention on the object in Tobias's hands and sensed many feelings from within the ball. Hatred, suffering, anguish and sadness to name a few. 'Whatever is in there, I don't like the vibe it's giving me…' She said to herself.
"Giratina! Rise!" Tobias exclaimed, tossing his Master Ball onto the field.
Released from its small prison, the tormented being from within was revealed to the Ketchums. Giratina's head began to rise higher and higher into the air as it let out a horrifying wail, causing the two trainers to cover their ears.
