The Final Battle: Elevtivire's Vengeance (Part 4)
Electivire pushed off the ground from its side of the field and flew through the air with its clubbing fists held over its head. Locking onto Perrserker, it slammed its hands downwards. Perrserker, being quick on its feet, leapt backwards and avoided the attack.
"Gyro Ball!" Giovanni exclaimed.
"Thunder Punch!" Alexa shouted with anger in her voice, commanding the Pokemon Paul had gifted her long ago. Both trainer and Pokemon wanted to avenge their injured companion, Lucario, who had sustained severe damage at the claws of Perrserker.
From a close range, the Galarian Steel stype curled its body and began rolling its way toward Electivire. Alexa's Pokemon, however, charged up a Thunder Punch in its massive hand. Using an upwards swing, Electivire hit Perrserker in the stomach with an uppercut, nullifying its attack.
'She looks like she's doing alright. But these guys really aren't fighting for the fun of it,' Ash thought to himself. Now he just had to figure out some kind of strategy to take on a skyscraper-sized Giratina. "Sceptile, aim for the neck!"
'With pleasure!' The grass type said. Moving at a blinding speed on its two legs, Sceptile crossed its arms forming two Leaf Blades.
"Shoot him!" Tobias shouted at his Giratina.
Letting out another wail, Giratina began firing Shadow Ball after Shadow Ball in rapid succession at the oncoming target. Sceptile, being nimble on its feet, dodged every single one as it made its dash across the field. Jumping high into the air, cutting through a Shadow Ball as it did, Sceptile soon found itself clinging to one of the curved, golden spikes that protruded from Giratina's neck.
"Now use Seed Bomb!" Ash shouted. Seconds later Sceptile turned around, releasing a bombardment of yellow orbs from its back onto the Giratina. Leaping off Giratina's neck, Sceptile began riding the shockwaves of the large explosion that erupted from its seeds, hitting the golden battlefield on its two feet. Turning around, Sceptile marvelled at its explosion. Giratina soon toppled over, hitting the golden battlefield, then sinking into the shadows below as its massive frame disappeared.
Sceptile turned over to its partner, who was currently wrestling the Galarian cat Pokemon by the horns. Raising its massive foot, Electivire delivered a hard kick to the Pokemon's face, finally breaking the smile plastered on the Galarian Pokemon's face. The sheer mass of Electivire forced the Galarian Pokemon onto its knees. Wanting to get its revenge on the Pokemon, Electivire soon bashed its knee into Perrserker's face several times.
Kicking up a Leaf Storm, Sceptile rushed over to its target, drawing a Leaf Blade as it did. In a swift strike, Sceptile sliced across Perrserker's exposed neck, making sure not to come into contact with Alexa's brawler as it passed by. Now having an opening, Electivire released from one of the horns and raised the Pokemon into the air, drilling the enemy with a single powerful orange punch to its face. Blown back in an explosion, an unconscious Perrseker hit the ground in front of Giovanni.
"That was Superpower!" Alexa exclaimed, recognizing the move. 'All that time ago…' Alexa said thinking back to the days her Electivire was a tiny Elekid facing off against Ash's Feraligatr for the first time. 'And now look at you.' Electivire raised its hands over its head and let out a victory cry, having avenged its teammate.
Perrserker laid motionless on the field, returning to its ball in a red beam of energy. "If I were you I would focus on the shadows below." Giovanni said with a grin, pointing downwards on the battlefield.
Focusing their attention on the center of the field, Ash and Alexa witnessed Giratina rising up from a shadowy vortex below. This time, however, the beast was pitch black, only having its red eyes and mouth as its defining features. Letting out another wail, Giratina threw its wings out to either side.
"Ash!" Alexa yelled over the shrieking noise while covering her ears. "Any ideas!?"
Ash, who found himself covering his own ears, began surveying the field, first looking at Electivire, then over to his Sceptile's bushy tail. "Ha! I got it!" Ash exclaimed, throwing his left fist forwards, showing off his grey Mega Ring. "We just need you guys to give us some juice!"
Pressing down on his Keystone, and lifting his left wrist high into the air, streams of energy shot across the field, binding to his Sceptilite. Ash's Hoenn starter was encased in rock, before breaking free with a much larger tail and longer blades on its arms. Undergoing Mega Evolution, Sceptile soon locked eyes with Alexa's Electivire, giving it a nod.
"Oh yeah, I get it now!" Alexa cheered. "Electivire, use Discharge… on Sceptile!"
Confused at first, Electivire did as it was told by sticking out its right arm and firing bolts of electricity from its fingertips at Ash's Pokemon. Whipping its tail around, the Mega Sceptile took the oncoming Electric type move into its Fir Tree-like tail. The orbs which ran along Sceptile's spine revved up with energy as it dropped its lower jaw, forming its attack.
"Fire!" Ash shouted, pointing at Tobias's Giratina.
From the ground below, Sceptile fired off an immense Dragon Pulse, whose power was boosted due to its Lightning Rod ability. The torrent of energy shot from Sceptile's mouth, directly hitting Tobias's shadowy Giratina with enough force to push the mighty Legendary backwards across the battlefield.
'Woah!' Electivire said, looking in awe at the attack, once Sceptile closed its jaw. 'Think I could get some of that power?'
'Of course,' Sceptile said, whipping its tail towards Electivire, hitting its partner with a Thunderbolt.
'OH YEAH!' Electivire roared, as flexed its muscles. Charging its body with electricity, enabling its Motor Drive Ability, Electivire's speed was increasing. With a two fingered gesture off of its brow, Electivire rushed across the field at a blinding speed to deliver its own attack to Giratina. Leaping off the ground and high into the air, Electivire drew back its right fist which glowed light blue with frost. Hitting its mark, Giratina's long trunk was soon encased into an expanding chunk of ice. Once again, the Renegade Pokemon fell. On its way down, however, Giratina let out another loud, yet different sounding wail. One that forced Electivire and Mega Sceptile to return to their Pokeballs.
"Roar!?" Ash exclaimed. "All that work!"
Bursting from a ball on his belt was (regular) Greninja, who stood tall, forming a Water Shuriken in each hand. 'What's going on?' It said, taking a readied stance.
"Giratina's about to go down," Ash said. "And we need you to finish the job."
'Got it,' The Kalos starter said, breaking into a sprint towards Giratina.
Bursting from Alexa's belt was the long, serpentine Milotic, who had blue stars sparkle around its body as it entered the field. "A magnificent specimen," Giovanni said, eyeing Alexa's Pokemon. "Tell me young one, did you raise that powerful Pokemon yourself?"
"Didn't have to," Alexa called over. "Milotic joined me so she could help me take out dopes like you!"
"Well that explains it…" Giovanni said with a hand on his chin. "You have simply had all your strength handed to you by those around you. You haven't achieved anything." Reaching down, he pulled out his next Ultra Ball.
'What?' Alexa thought to herself. 'He can't be right!... But then again, a bunch of my Pokemon were already strong when I got them… Ursaring, Vigoroth, Hitmonlee, Aegislash… Milotic… Maybe he's right…'
'Alexa!' Her Pokemon cried out.
"Oh no, Milotic!" When the teenager tuned back in, she witnessed a Nidoking driving a Thunder Punch into the face of her Pokemon. In the time that Alexa stood, contemplating the words Giovanni had spoken, he had pulled and threw out his Ultra Ball without her noticing. 'Damnit! He's getting into my head and it's working! I gotta be careful… I don't need anyone else getting hurt like Lucario.'
"Double Team! Then Liquidation!" Ash exclaimed.
Greninja sped across the field, utilizing Double Team to make an army of Greninja clones. As they rushed towards the shadowy vortex of a Pokemon that was Giratina, each clone formed a set of katanas made of water. Rushing into action, each Greninja clone ran in an opposing direction with one another. As the nimble ninja frogs ran circles around the legendary beast, Giratina fired off multiple Shadow Balls eliminating several of the runners. All a diversion so the true Grininja could appear behind the enemy Giratina; soaring through the air with two aquatic blades drawn. Slashing the nape of Giratina's neck, Greninja continued on as the beast let out a pained wail.
"You will pay for that one Ketchum!" Tobias yelled across the field. "You shall pay for these unbearable voices I hear in my head!"
"Yes, Tobias. Allow your rage against your enemy to carry you to victory," Giovanni said, turning away from him and Alexa's battle. "Do not forget, Ash was the one who trapped you in the Distortion World. Now thanks to me, you are here at this moment, seeking revenge with the Pokemon he imprisoned you with."
"I will not fail you, my Master!" Tobias joyfully yelled as his Giratina rose up once more.
"Yeah, think again! Greninja, use Dark Pulse!" Greninja dropped down, placing its hands together. Between its webbed palms formed a spiraling orb of dark energy, which Greninja pitched across the field. In order to evade the attack, Giratina retreated to its shadow below.
Looking back at its trainer after missing its target, Greninja awaited its next command. After glancing to the side, Ash noticed his sister's Milotic with its body wrapped around a furious Nidoking. Soon however, the trapped beast cloaked its body in an Outrage.
"Ash! I need a hand here!"
"We're going for Nidoking! Use Liquidation!" In the blink of an eye Greninja began its sprint and had disappeared from Ash and Alexa's side of the field.
"Squeeze tighter Milotic!" Alexa called out to her Shiny Pokemon, who's long body was currently binding the arms and legs of the enemy Nidoking. Giovanni's Kanto Ace winced as it was tightly constricted.
"Hold steady Nidoking," Giovanni said, calmly placing his hands in his jacket pockets. "Her tactic shall turn against her right about now." As Giovanni made this remark, a look of shock was soon plastered on Alexa's face. When Milotic tightened down on the Nidoking, one of its elbow spikes pierced the Pokemon's flesh. Milotic let out a cry of anguish as Nidoking's strong poison was soon pumped into Milotic's body, loosening the restraint around its opponent.
"Oh no, Milotic!" Alexa cried out.
"Poison Point can be a tricky business when you focus on being so physical all the time," Giovanni stated. "Had you been a little more knowledgeable you could have avoided this. Now use Outrage, Nidoking!"
As an expanding wave of draconic energy radiated off its body, Nidoking flexed its arms outwards, breaking free of Alexa's Milotic. With its hefty claws, the Drill Pokemon raised its prey in the air triumphantly, before bashing it with a horned head.
Laid out on the ground Milotic let out a soft cry, as the poisoning took a toll on its body. "Ash! I need a hand here!"
"We're going for Nidoking! Use Liquidation!" In the blink of an eye Greninja began its sprint and had disappeared from Ash and Alexa's side of the field. Turning to his sister, Ash gave Alexa a grin. "I've always got your back."
As Nidoking trudged its way over to Milotic, still entranced by the move Outrage, it was not aware of Greninja's oncoming attack. However, inches away from its locked target, Nidoking's right ear instinctively twitched. Spinning around in rapid motion, focusing all of its Outrage into its right claw, Nidoking rocketed it forwards, catching the oncoming frog Pokemon in the face. Ash stood in stunned silence, not suspecting such a large and ferocious Pokemon to have sensibility like that. Nidoking raised its hand along with the Kalos Starter, before driving Greninja backfirst into the ground.
Pulling a Pokeball off her belt, Alexa jutted her arm forwards to return her Pokemon. Putting up a Safeguard, however, Milotic ignored its trainer's wishes by deflecting the red beam. "Milotic, I don't want you getting hurt anymore!"
'No Alexa,' Her Pokemon said, with a purple shade now set in under its eyes. 'I am here fighting to make a difference. And I can not do that from inside a ball.'
Alexa stood hesitantly, unsure of what to do. Normally she was certain her Pokemon could handle themselves just fine, however Giovanni's Pokemon implemented brutal strategies when they fought. Ones that were capable of wearing out, and causing physical harm to Alexa's Pokemon. However, thanks to her Pokemon, Alexa realized that if Milotic was going down, it was going down on its own terms; no running. They were willing to give it their all. Clenching her fist, Alexa saw Giovanni's Nidoking slowly lumbering its way towards a grounded Greninja. 'Right! It's time to get my shit together!' Before Alexa launched her strike, however, something caught her eye. Becoming attuned with the Aura around her, Alexa sensed a dark presence manifesting underneath Greninja. 'That's gotta be Giratina, waiting to strike! If I time this right, I just might be able to pull this off!' The teen thought to herself.
"Use Shadow Force, Giratina!" Tobias shouted, running a hand frantically through his long, grey hair.
"Go Milotic, Aqua Jet on Greninja!" Alexa quickly exclaimed, throwing her hand forwards.
The shadow below Greninja adopted a red set of eyes, as Giratina was about to reveal itself once more. But seconds before Giratina and Nidoking attacked their target, the blue finned Milotic rushed in, cloaked in a jet of water, moving faster since it was utilizing a priority move. Hitting Greninja, it carried the Kalos starter away before it could succumb to the double attack of Giratina and Nidoking.
"Thanks," Ash said, giving his sibling a quick nod and a smirk, as Tobias's Giratina rocketed upwards into Giovanni's Nidoking.
"Master, I apologize!" Tobias exclaimed. "They anticipated our strategy!"
Giovanni clenched his teeth, feeling agitated. "I do not want excuses! Let us hope that as a result of this failure, I do not throw you and that creature back into the Distortion World where I found you."
Tobias dropped down to his knees and began pleading with the Rocket Boss. "No! Anything but that!" The tormented soul shrieked, being one who experienced an eternity in that world of Chaos. "I shall not-"
Before Tobias could say anymore, a large Night Slash and Ice Beam soared across the field, striking his Giratina in the neck, just below its jaw. Letting out a shriek, followed by a gurgling noise, Giratina crashed down to the ground. Turning their attention over, the evil duo saw the origin of the attack: Ash's Greninja standing tall on two legs, with Alexa's serpentine Milotic positioned high above it it. Forming a large Water Shuriken over its head, Greninja dealt one final blow to the grounded Giratina just for good measure.
'Thank you, Ash Ketchum,' A shadowy voice whispered inside of Ash's head. In this moment, he knew it was the mind controlled Giratina thanking him for eliminating it from the battle. The Masterball from Tobias's belt surged with purple energy as it dropped to the ground and rolled across the floor, shattering into many fine shards. The behemoth of a Legendary, while unconscious, retreated into the Shadows, disappearing from Arceus' realm.
"TOBIAS!" The Rocket Leader shouted angrily at his subordinate. "You lost me a powerful weapon!"
"Alright! Giratina's down!" Alexa said, pumping her fist.
"And that's not even the best part! Greninja and I are sure feelin' it now!" Ash said with a grin, as Aura began to swirl around him and Greninja's feet. Greninja turned back towards the two Ketchum Siblings as a red glow set into its eyes and gave a nod. As their Spirits and Auras became once, Greninja's body swirled in a watery vortex as it underwent the Battle Bond Transformation, emerging as Ash's Ace of the Kalos Region: the Ash-Greninja.
