Epilogue
Hermione and Ron's divorce finalized as she reached her sixth month of pregnancy. She and Ron had agreed to sell their house and split the profits. Neither of them had wanted to keep any of their shared furnishings, resulting in them selling everything in their house, aside from any family heirlooms that they'd each brought into the home. Those they each had agreed to let stay in their families instead of fighting over the.
Luckily, when they'd married, they had both agreed that keep their own vault at Gringotts where they each had all their separately earned wages deposited. That made it easy enough for there being no discrepancy in splitting up their vaults.
Draco's divorce was nowhere near as simple or as easily agreed upon by either Draco or Astoria. Due to both parties engaging in affairs, it had muddled up their entire marriage contract. Astoria ended up with a large settlement, including monthly deposits into a vault in just her name at Gringotts each month for the remainder of her life. She also was rewarded with Draco's Italian vacation home; it was rumored that Astoria and Susan Bones had relocated there to avoid public scrutiny.
Harry continued his friendship with Hermione, but at a distance and only at work. Ginny and the rest of the Weasley family never forgave Hermione for cheating on Ron. It hurt, but Hermione understood and respected their decision.
Ron fell into a bit of a depression following the separation and divorce. Hermione had heard that he had started heavily drinking and moved to Ireland for a bit. About a year after their divorce had been finalized, Hermione saw a picture of Ron on a date with Pansy Parkinson in Witch Weekly. Hermione was shocked when she felt nothing but happiness for her ex-husband.
As for Hermione and Draco?
They got to know each other, easily becoming close friends and the support system that the other needed to get through their divorces. After two weeks, though, Hermione gave up on avoiding having sex with Draco. They decided they'd call themselves friends with benefits with a baby on the way.
It was two months later that Hermione gave into Draco's persistence that he wanted a real relationship with the mother of his child.
Hermione absolutely refused to move in with Draco until both their divorces were finalized (he started asking a month into their relationship). The night they got the owl from the Ministry and Draco's solicitor with the news that he was legally divorced, Draco jumped up from his couch and apparated straight to Hermione's parents' house, where she had been living and packed every last thing she owned to bring back to his house, even though a majority of her things had already technically been moved in.
ooo
Celebrating his divorce late into the night, Hermione curled up Draco's warmth embrace and fell asleep for just a few hours. Hermione woke up untangling herself from Draco's body and moved into the bathroom. Not entirely sure what had woken her, Hermione was positive that it was her bladder, seeing as she was a week away from her due date. She never slept through the night, the pressure from her womb was too much.
Walking out of the bathroom, Hermione stopped to take a deep breath and breath through the pressure that was encasing her entire stomach. Peaking her head back into her new bedroom, Hermione smiled to herself when she saw her boyfriend stretched out across the mattress with his arm thrown over his eyes and his bare chest of lean muscles showing.
With a sigh, Hermione creeped back into the bed, only to have another round of tightening in her stomach. Rolling to her other side, Hermione was jolted sitting upright as another waved rolled through her body. Rubbing her round belly, Hermione gave up on the idea of trying to get a few more hours of sleep. A quick look at her nightside table, Hermione let out of groan when she saw the time. 4:39 AM was glaring at her in the bright red light.
Scooting back off the bed, Hermione stood up and moved back into the bathroom, feeling like maybe if she tried just a little harder, she might be able to pass whatever it was that was keeping her from sleep. Narrowing her eyes, Hermione watched the man still sleeping in their bed. A freight train could come through their bedroom wall and Draco would sleep through it.
Settling herself back on the toilet, Hermione rested her arms on her thighs leaning forward and closed her eyes. A low moan ripped through her throat when an audible POP with a rush of water between her legs happened.
Crookshanks, who had been glued to her side the entire week, looked up as if he sensed the change in the atmosphere. A pain ripped through Hermione as she let out another throaty groan, causing her cat to run from the bathroom and into the master bedroom.
"OOOWWE! WHAT THE FUCK, CAT! Hermione, can do you do something about your beast of a cat!?" Hermione didn't have a chance to respond before she was hit with another wave hit her entire body.
"Hermione? Love?" A sleep ruffled Draco came to the doorway rubbing his eyes. Looking at his girlfriend, confusion crossed his face as he watched her panting on the toilet. "What the bloody hell are you doing?"
"The. Baby." Hermione sneered through gritted teeth.
"Yes, Theo said the baby looked fine yesterday." Normally Hermione might find his innocence adorable. Right now, she wanted to throttle him.
"No, you bloody idiot. The baby is- OOOOOO" Another wave hit before Hermione could finish her sentence, leaving Draco still looking tired and puzzled.
"The baby is what, Hermione?"
"THE BABY IS COMING YOU FUCKING ARSE!"
ooo
An hour late, Aurelian Draco Malfoy entered the world. A year after that, Hermione agreed to marry his dad.
