Chapter 8:Thank You

Why was there a random woman suddenly standing in his room?

Tsuna couldn't help but wonder this as he stared in confusion at the elegantly dressed woman in his room. Where did she suddenly come from and where in the world was Mari? One minute Mari was standing next to him as they entered his room and the next she was gone. Replaced with this beautiful woman. Blinking several times Tsuna took in the woman's features.

She looked to be in her early twenties with hair the same color as Mari's. It fell to her shoulders and was styled, very little makeup adorned her face, and the only jewelry he could see on her was a butterfly pendant.

"W-Who are you?" He questions slowly while still assessing the mystery woman. Seriously, why did crazy things have to happen to him!? Why couldn't he live in peace? Have normalcy in his life!?

Yamamoto laughs looking at the woman. "She kinda looks like Mari-Chan." Tsuna blinks again, staring even more intensely at the woman. This time he noticed a butterfly tattoo on the inside of her right forearm. It's wings were a rainbow of various different colors, whoever did the artwork was talented indeed. Well this woman kinda did look like Mari he thought as he bit his bottom lip. They shared the same eye color.

"Dame-Tsuna!" Pain laced through his head. Reborn had kicked him in the back of his head forcing him to his knees. What the hell was that for!? "Can't even recognize your own wife. Your perception skills need work."

The woman laughs suddenly before Tsuna could even make a response to Reborn. Stepping softly into the room she looked around, green eyes were alight with amusement giving off a jovial appearance as she swept the room.

"This certainly takes me back." she smiles.

Huh? No way!

Like a deer caught in headlights Tsuna simply stares at future Mari. Everything hit him suddenly as to what happened, the ten year bazooka had gone off. Instead of Lambo swapping with his future self it misfired instead swapping Mari with her future self. Tsuna's face heats up as a blush blooms across his flesh.

"Hello Tsuna! My look how cute and small you used to be." Mari giggles as she promptly takes a seat on the edge of his bed. Crossing her legs Mari rests her arms on her knees as she smiles sweetly at everyone around her. Smirking Reborn jumps onto the bed next to her, taking her hand he examines the ring on her finger. Well well it looks like his beloved students married in the future as he planned.

"So full of yourself." Mari huffs shaking her head. Leave it to Reborn to become so big headed over this whole situation.

"A big victory for me." He was never going to let her live this down. Ever smirking he pats her hand gently. Mariko looked happy and healthy in the future, there was a difference about her that pleased Reborn greatly. It gave him hope that in time Mari would let Rachel go. Future Mari was proof of that and he was keen to see how this journey would unfold for his dear student.

"M-Mari!" Tsuna shouted, finally finding his voice. Gokudera was quick to bow to her before reaching out and throttling Lambo who demanded more candy from her. Haru could only stare questioning who the pretty woman in red was.

Laughing, Mari looks at Tsuna tilting her head to the side in question. Oh crap.

Heart thudding in his chest rapidly from the sudden attention Tsuna feels his face flush a deeper red, he didn't know what to say now, all he could do was open and close his mouth like a fish out of water.

How embarrassing.

"Poor idiot." Reborn smirks chuckling.

"Now now Reborn we mustn't call names. It's not nice." Mari states as she rises from her seat. Her movements were slow, graceful even. Tsuna was quick to notice that. Well it's not like Mari now doesn't move gracefully…..she does due to her gymnastics training and…...and when did Mari suddenly become so close?

Mari was now kneeled in front of him, their faces were so close Tsuna could see deeply into her bright green eyes. He was going to panic or worse faint! No he would panic and then faint! Gah why was she so beautiful!? He had always thought Mari a pretty girl, attractive even but seeing her future self was breathtaking. Would they really marry in the future? He…...He wouldn't be opposed to that he thought.

After all Tsuna had the biggest crush on for literal years and…...

Giggling Mari cups his cheek causing the brunette's body to go rigid as he careens out of his thoughts. Her touch was gentle against his skin. Older Mari's hands were still rough and calloused from training but he also felt the texture of a scar on her palm. What happened?

"Only a few seconds left but younger me won't admit this but thank you for everything." She whispers lightly for only Tsuna to hear.

And with that Mari kissed his cheek. Her lips were so soft and….suddenly he felt light headed and dizzy as he fell to the ground. In the next moment purple smoke fills the air and younger Mari is back looking disgruntled and confused. When her confused gaze landed on him Tsuna could do nothing as he fought the urge to run away.

"What's with you guys?" she huffs crossing her arms over her chest. Seriously, why was everyone staring at her like that?

Jumping onto her shoulder, Reborn smirks telling her not to worry.

The future certainly seemed interesting.

Alex:And that's what future Mari did;) A few things were revealed in this little bonus. Anywho next chapter we will move forward with plot as we enter the Kokuyo arc, until next time.
