This was my entry for the Sherlock's Home: An Empty House competition run by Sherlockology for the Save Undershaw project. Sherlock realises that there are some things that even he can't fix, and one of those is John. Warning: character death.

All John wanted to do was have a cup of tea and wait out the snowstorm. However, he ends up locked in a walk-in freezer with none other than Sherlock Holmes. Oh, and it's cold. So cold. It couldn't get worse. Except for the little fact that their mobiles have no signal. Except for that.

Someone is killing homeless people causing Sherlock and John to work to protect their homeless network. Meanwhile, John has an enteric fever relapse ending up in the hospital leaving Sherlock to find the serial killer on his own while John fights for his life. COMPLETE.

A group bent on revenge comes to 221B, but instead of finding Sherlock, they find John. Now, left with no clues but a blood-splattered flat, Sherlock races to save John before it's too late.

John is struggling to find a reason to go on, and then he realizes that he can't find one. Alone and left to his thoughts, he makes a decision and it will take Sherlock to remind him that he's not alone. Trigger Warning: Suicide attempt, suicidal!John

When John left, Sherlock was quiet. He didn't shout or cry or rage about that night. He laid on the couch and stared at the ceiling until the sun came up.
