Chapter Ten: Ram's Horn
Nick wakes up for his day, he prepares his swords and his potions. Everything is ready for his safety round, during his walk he sees the binoculars making breakfast, Nick shrug his shoulders and then continues his safety walk.
In the kitchen
Rem look behind her when she felt a feeling that the watch is having then she continues to make lunch, Ram looking at Rem who is having her head elsewhere then she decides to break the ice.
"How's your date with Moineau-kun?" Ask Ram
"Rem its a lot of fun." Said Rem
"But why did you ask for a date with Moineau-kun?" Ask Ram, Rem can't help but blush afraid to tell him the reason,
"You are in love with Moineau-kun!" Said Ram shocked, Rem blushed even more.
"Please don't tell Nick-kun!" Said Rem
"Why are you in love with such a… bad guy." Ram said
"Rem doesn't think Nick-kun is a bad person he makes us believe." Rem said.
"What do you mean?" Ram asks really curious.
"When Rem was gone to look for supplies Nick-kun went to see the children just to find the mabeasts who are going to attack the children, Rem wanted to help him then Rem he weakened him and Nick-kun protected Rem from death then he brought Rem to the village even with injuries and when the village wanted to give him a bag of gold Nick-kun refused, its why its the hero of Rem. " Rem said with passion. Ram assimilates all the information that hears she can not believe that sparrow who proclaims himself the evil incarnate could do such an act.
In Nick's room
Nick looks outside the window meditating on the action on himself, in his world in Eastern Europe he was the black crow who is considered the bird of bad omen while in his world he is. is freer as if he acts on his own initiative.
"Are you all okay Nick?" Asking Satela, Nick lift his head to see the garden.
"I wonder its everything." Nick said simply.
"On what exactly?" Satela asks.
"On me, for example in my world I am embodying evil but threw mist with anger and hatred but here I am less angry or hateful as I am myself." Nick explained his symptoms.
"Everyone will be explaining but he has one thing to do first, she's here." Said Satela.
"Which?" Nick said then heard a knock on the door, he approached the door to see Ram to say.
"Hello Sparrow-sama I wanted to tell you that lunch is ready." Ram said.
"Very well thank you." Nick said closing the door but Ram prevented from closing the port.
"Sparrow wait I wanted to talk to you alone." Said Ram, Nick doesn't know if its a trap but hey he knows how to defend himself, he opens the door to let her in then he closes the door.
"What do you want Candy Pink." Nick says, Ram turns around with a serious face.
"Be honest with me, are you the boy who saw through the mirror?" Seriously ask.
"Yes its good to me." Simply said Nick
"So why have you been hostile to us from the start, why didn't you recognize my sister?" Said Ram who is not convinced of his answer. Nick simply motioned to sit on the chair and then Nick sits on the bed.
"Your sister smelled a magical scent that she can smell on me which is the scent of the witch." Said Nick, Ram was surprised at this revelation then Nick continues.
"Witchers are mutants who have abilities like having good ears, when I felt someone following me I left outside to seem to pick up ingredients and then Rem attack me." Said Nick
"Are you fighting with my sister?" Ask Ram.
"Yes." Said Nick
"What's going on?" Ask Ram
"Rem lost then she said" Forgive me Nick "Then she falls tired, I wonder because she knew my real name while it's been years since I said my name, later she wake up I ask how she knows my name then her who tells me that she is the girl in the mirror, she even give me the proof, but why do you want to know all her? " Ask Nick
"I don't want my sister to be hurt if you do everything for her horn or whatever I kill you." Ram said in a threatening way
"I'm not interested in his horn anyway its little regrowth?" Said Nick
"Our horn does not grow back!" Scream Ram
"Are you serious? I've already grown a succubus horn in my world." Nick said simply, Ram was a few seconds away but she comes back with her serious face.
"You can be a quack to make it seem like you have the cures." Ram said.
"I'm a lot of stuff but I'm not a quack I even have the potion that can give you back the horn." Nick said then heard the door suddenly open to see Rem.
"REALLY?!" Ask Rem
"Rem? What are you doing here?" Ask Ram
"Sorry Nee-sama that Rem was listening to the conversation but if Nee-sama has a way to get your horn back, Rem would like to take this chance." Said Rem
"Rem… there is no magic that can do that." Ram said
"Who Said Its Magic?" Asking Nick, the twins watch the mutan.
"Its science and I won't force you to get involved on yourself if you don't trust me and I know you don't trust me and you need a little sample of the horn." Said Nick
"Rem is ready to do it." Rem said.
"But Rem you-" Ram said but Rem turned around.
"Rem trusts Nick-kun because Rem knows he's not a bad person." Said Rem, Nick can't help but feel the heat in his chest.
"Nick-kun does it." Said Rem, Nick sighs then he says.
"Ram has to be okay if you want me to." Said Nick, Rem turns to his sister with puppy eyes to tell her to trust him.
"Please Nee-sama." Rem said, Ram sighs then she says.
"Alright I trust you Sparrow-kun." Said Ram, Nick nods his head then he goes to his duffel bag to take out a purple potion.
"Alright now I need a sample of a horn" Nick said, Rem nods his head then she brings up his horn, Nick comes closer then he takes a hunting knife.
"Don't worry Rem I just want a little piece I don't need the whole horn." Nick said. The twins sigh in relief then Nick scratches Rem's horn for a small grain of horn then he puts it in the potion which begins to glow. Nick walks up to Ram but she doubts something.
"If you have any Ram questions, am I here to answer them?" Said Nick
"Is it going to hurt?" ask Ram.
"No I can guarantee you no." Said Nick
"How long does it take for me to pop my horn?" Ram said. Nick looks out more precisely in the direction of the sun and then turns to the binoculars to say.
"Tomorrow morning." Said Nick, Ram thoughtful then she feels comfortable.
"Alright you can apply your lotion." Said Ram, Nick rattles then he uses two fingers to put the purple lotion glow then he deposits on Ram's forehead as the substance goes into Ram's forehead.
"He just has to wait until tomorrow for your horn to take effect." Said Nick, Ram rattle, she just has to wait until tomorrow.
To Eastern Europe
Geralt wakes up from his sleep, Versermir notices that Geralt's dream had disturbed him.
"You feel good?" Versermir asks. Geralt look at his mentor then he says.
"We don't have time." Said Geralt
"Dawn is still far away, we have time." Said Versermir, Geralt thought then maybe he would do him some good talking about it.
"Was at Kaer Morhen with Yennefer and Ciri when she was young and he also-" Geralt said
"Nick." Finished Versermir for him, Geralt felt bitter for Nick.
"Geralt, he's dead, the black crow himself says who killed Nick." Said Versermir.
"I don't believe a word of it." Said Geralt
"And why?" Very curious Versermir asks.
"I inquired about Nick's real relatives because I know Nick's mother is dead so I wanted to know if Nick is in the realm of the dead and his mother confirms who is not dead." Said Geralt, Versermir was happy that the young boy was alive even though he accepted who little more wanted to see Geralt and the others.
"What was Nick doing in your dream?" Ask Versermir.
"He preened books on monsters." Said Geralt, Versermir sneer
"Yeah its good Nick." Said Versermir. Gerlat sees the sun rise, it's time to go look for Yenefer.
To Lugnica in Ram's room.
Ram get up from her bed then she does her morning routine then she is ready for her day but she has one thing to look at, she was in front of the mirror looking at each other, Ram takes a deep breath then she closes her eyes then she tries to make her horn appear then she feels a sensation which she has not felt for a long time, she slowly opens her eyes again she was shocked to see her horn that Nick had promised.
"Its not possible." Ram said, touching his horn.
"But its not possible." Ram said again, slapping himself lightly on her face to see if she was still asleep. Now she's on who's not asleep she runs to her sister's room to break the big news, Ram slams the door open to announce.
"REEEEEEEM." Ram yelled, Rem stood up in surprise and still tired to answer.
"Nee-sama why-" Rem says when she regains her senses she sees Ram's horn, Rem put her hands over her mouth then she cry with happiness.
"NEE-SAMA, YOU HAVE FIND YOUR HORN." Rem said in tears of happiness then they hugged because they are so happy.
"Judging them cries of happiness and joy, the horn to grow." Said Nick looking at the twins happily, Ram let go of Rem then she said
"And you sure you are the evil to embody?" Ask Ram
"I its more who I really am." Said Nick, Ram runs to Nick to attack with a hug and then a full kiss on the cheek.
"Thanks thanks thanks." Said Ram who is cuddling then she gives him a lot of kiss on the cheek. Rem was happy for her sister but felt jealous to see her sister kissing the loving man.
"Ok, ok, ok its good no need to wet my cheek
Touch Touch Touch
Everyone turns to Roswaal looking at Rem, Ram hugging Nick.
"I see who's having joy here, what's going on here?" Roswaal said with a smile. Ram let go of Nick to say.
"Roswaal-sama, Nick grew my horn." Said Ram happily showing him the horn, Roswaal smiles and then strokes Ram's head.
"I'm really happy for you Ram." Roswaal says then walks over to Nick to say.
"Nick can I talk to you alone?" Ask for Roswaal.
"Yes of course Master Roswaal." Said Nick, Roswaal gestures to follow him then he leaves Rem's room.
In Roswaal's office
Roswaal sits down on an armchair then gestures to sit down on the other armchair, Nick walks to the armchair then he sits down and he waits for the master of the mansion to speak.
"Nick I wanted to thank you for doing to my dear Ram and I see she has become friendlier to you too." Said Roswaal, Nick shrug his shoulders to say
"I made my conscience tell me, even though I find blizzard sight I am a freak." Nick said simply.
"Yes Rem was talking to me about the time you saved her from the mabeasts and arrived in the village half dead, thanks for that too." Said Roswaal
"That's why I asked to do the security of your maid." Said Nick, Roswaal nods his head then he looks at Nick to say.
"Tell me Young witcher do you know the effect of indoctrination?" Ask for Roswaal.
"Indoctrination is a way of manipulating people for their purpose or to make his target act against his will even if the target believes his actions are his own." Nick said.
"Well I see you being educated, I examine you and believe you are brainwashing Nick." Roswaal said seriously. Nick rethinking his actions in his world and their world which means the indoctrination has been cut off from who is here.
"But he has a way to protect your minds from his doctrine, but he will have the remorse effect." Said Roswaal
"You knew if my spirits and not strong enough I might-" Nick said but Roswaal finished for him.
"Yes ... he has a chance that you will kill yourself." Said Roswaal then the door opens which is Rem running towards Nick in tears.
"NOOON." Rem said.
"Rem my dear if Nick sees this person again he will turn dark like before and even hurt us." Roswaal said.
"I will do it." Said Nick
"But Nick-kun." Rem said worried. Roswaal get up then he says.
"Alright Nick comes over to me and I go to make a bucket underneath the indoctrination." Said Roswaal, Nick looks at Roswaal then he sees Rem in tears, Nick hugs Rem who was holding his leather armor by wiping his tears on them.
"Whatever happens Rem, stay the sweet and kind creature that you are." Said Nick which starts to tremble then he lets go of Rem to move towards Roswaal who places his hand on the head then says inquartation then Nick remembers all the horrible thing that has done in life then Nick's body falls on the ground.
"NICK-KUN" Said Rem looks to see if he's still alive then she hears his heart is still beating.
"Take him back to his room, Rem and be there for Nick because he'll need a friend." Said Roswaal, Rem rattles then she brings Nick back to his room.
In Nick's room
Rem wait for Nick to wake up then he moves a bit then he sits down as if he assimilates all the knowledge that has had that Nick didn't notice that Rem was there.
"Nick-kun are you okay?" Asking Rem, Nick had a little jump when he found out who's not alone.
"More or less." Said Nick then he continues
"I feel like a monster right now." Simply said Nick
"Rem thinks-" Rem said but Nick cut him off.
"What do you think, that wasn't me, that my actions were done by someone else, its much more sinister that you don't understand." Said Nick
"Then explain to Rem so Rem understands." To implore Rem.
"All the atrocious thing that I did, all the harm that I did its doing nothing to me, besides if I had to start over again with or without doctrine I would do it without any hesitation, then its better than I live more like that everyone will live better without me because I have no more reason to live. " Said Nick who suddenly feels being hugged by Rem stroking his head to say.
"Rem don't care that your no remorse or that you did the horrible things, the pass is the pass, if you agree to leave behind and change your life Rem will be happy if you have no reason to live then life for me because Rem loves you. " Said Rem a kiss on the forehead declaring her love for him, some minute Rem stroking Nick's head to heal his mentality.
"Rem, if I understood correctly, did you just tell me that you are in love with me its that?" Asking Nick who is afraid of his answer, Rem let go of Nick and then she all expresses her love for the boy.
"Yes, Rem really loves you very much, you accepted Rem what is, you saved Rem from a death, you brought back the horn of Nee-sama, thanks to Nick-kun Rem's life changed, its for how much Rem loves you. " Said rem with a pretty smile and with eyes of admiration.
Nick look at Rem who is clear that she loves Nick he gets up from his bed to walk towards the middle of the room then he puts his hand on his pounding heart then he clenches his fist firmly.
"Rem" Dit Nick
"Yes" said Rem, Nick turns to face the girl then he says.
"I'm not in love with you." Nick simply said.
Rem was shocked then sad, tears of sadness ran down her cheek, she got up then she leaves Nick's room in tears, Nick sighs then he lies down on the bed to say to himself.
"Its better like that." Said Nick
