Obi-Wan Kenobi felt a small disruption in the force. Not something odd—certainly not after Darth Maul made his return and subsequent strike toward him. No, this felt different. Something old, and similar in nature… to him? Kenobi's eyes flashed open at the thought, rupturing his meditation, and dropping the jedi master to the floor of his quarters. He was floating in the midst of his meditation again—not something uncommon, but somewhat annoying if you weren't planning on spraining your tailbone. A cold breeze swept through his window, alongside the foul stench of smoke. Kenobi, despite living on this planet for the majority of his life, was still not used to it—or the cacophony of sounds reverberating through the nigh infinite cityscape. It always made his back tingle…

"Master?" The all-too-familiar sound of Anakin holding back a bought of laughter broke his trance-like focus on the window, bringing him back to reality. "Have a rough fall?"

"No, I am quite fine, Anakin. Don't you have somewhere to be?" Kenobi lightly sniffed as he hopped off the ground, busiedly swiping not-existent debris off his shoulders. Usually it was him who caught his pupil in embarrassing moments, not the other way around.

"Yeah. Here. Master Yoda wants to speak with you. Probably about the whole… you know. Maul thing." As if he would forget. Obi-Wan idly raised his hand, calling his lightsaber to his palm from where it lay on his desk. It felt reassuring having his own weapon in his hands, rather than Asajj Ventress' crimson blade. Though, the sith's blade did feel… appealing. Kenobi quickly shoved the thought to the back of his mind before stepping out of his room, following his former padawan closely.

"I'm sure it's nothing master. Especially after you generously handed Maul his cybernetic ass to him on a platter."

"Anakin, people died—including master Adi Gallia." That was something Kenobi still hadn't let go. Despite how many times Cody, Ahsoka, and Anakin reassured him it wasn't his fault that she died, the sorrow still gnawed at his mind.

"I'd prefer to take this a bit more seriously than your current disposition. Metal posteriors aside, did Master Yoda grant you any factual information about what we will be discussing?"

"Just that it was important, master. And that I couldn't listen in. So it was a fair assumption." Skywalker shrugged, though Obi-Wan could tell this affected his pupil. Anakin was never one to take exclusion like that well, especially if it pertained to his safety. While touching, it could potentially lead Anakin to the dark side, which Obi-Wan was considering lecturing his pupil about. Especially after he faked his death.

Kenobi paused mid-stride. "Anakin, I can tell it irks you. I will let you know if the information is truly pressing. You have my word. Not as your master, but as your brother." Obi-Wan rested his hand upon his pupil's shoulder with a gentle smile. Now that he took a second glance at Anakin, he was quite surprised. Usually, Skywalker was chomping at the bit to go after someone who threatened Kenobi's life. But Anakin nodded to him. He was… listening? And going against his emotions, it seemed. This brought Kenobi slight comfort.

"Master, if what you two discuss is confidential, I won't butt in. You have my word, as your brother." Anakin merely raised his hand, which Obi-Wan took with a smile, the two jedi shaking it out. Afterward, Anakin let go, and vanished into the crowd of meandering jedi in the temple. Though Obi-Wan knew he wouldn't be far. Anakin never was. However, Kenobi's train of thought was abruptly interrupted by a gentle tap of his shoulder.

"Master Kenobi! Been looking for you, I have." Puttering over the jedi master's shoulder was the squat figure of Master Yoda, hovering along in a hoverchair. Kenobi tilted his head, retraining himself from laughing as Anakin had earlier. It was rather silly, but Obi-Wan didn't have the heart to tell the grandmaster.

"I heard. What is it you wish to speak about, master Yoda…?" Obi-Wan could help but carry a slight sense of unease in his voice. It was never normally him called into these surprise meetings—rather, Anakin and Ahsoka if they did something completely bullheaded. Yoda's kind, friendly smile dissipated to reveal a sterner, concerned expression… one Kenobi had never seen before, save for when the old master learned of Dooku's betrayal, and subsequent siding with the Separatists.

"Come with me, you must. Private, this matter is." As quickly as he had come, Yoda's chair puttered overhead, steering toward the Jedi Council chambers, to Kenobi's confusion. As the two jedi entered the chamber, Obi-Wan noticed the lack of the majority of council members, bar Plo-Koon, Mace Windu, and Kit Fisto. Such a slim selection of members—containing only the tightest bound members. As the doors—and even the shutters of the dome above them—closed, Windu turned to face Kenobi, yielding a holo projector in his palm, glowing an ethereal blue.

"An unidentified spacecraft was noted as surfacing from the Unknown Regions. We thought nothing of it, until…"

Master Yoda piped up, leaning over to look into Obi-Wan's eyes. "Strong in the dark side, the occupant is. Sense a great deal of malignance, we do." Yoda's hand waved to Fisto, Windu, and Plo-Koon… alongside Obi-Wan himself.

"Sensed it, you did." Kenobi merely nodded. Indeed, it was true. Yet only faintly.

"We plan to prepare ourselves for this attack, though from the looks of it, we five are the only jedi capable of defending against such a powerful foe." Plo Koon mumbled to himself in his chair, stroking his chin ever so cautiously.

"Power has nothing to do with it," Kit Fisto stood from his seated position, "shielding the other jedi to this threat will only lead to their downfall."

"I agree." Kenobi turned to look toward the vents upon the wall, only to see the familiar shape of Anakin slink out. Of course, he wouldn't miss something like this. And as per usual, the jedi masters did not seem surprised. After all, Anakin would never have merely let them be.

"Skywalker, we actually DO need you, commander Rex, and your Padawan for this—" Windu turned to face Kenobi as well. "And commander Cody, should he be available."

"Master Windu, what exactly will we be doing…?" Windu turned to face master Yoda, before shifting to gaze at Kenobi once more.

"Heading them off. We can't have someone that dangerous in the galaxy. The last time we faced someone from unknown regions like this, I almost died." Obi-Wan raised a brow. How did he not know of this…? Was he not on the council at the time? Similar questions and more bounced through Kenobi's brain. Anakin was already tapping away on his comms.

"This is where the fun begins."
