Chapter 54
The past few days have been hectic. Let's just say I have never gotten so many scoldings in my life. You'd think they'd just be happy the we saved the world but no! They're all like 'How could you put yourself in danger like that?', 'You could have died!' or 'It was never your responsibility, you're just children!'. That last one really annoyed me. Hopefully they'll get over it eventually though.
The minister had to step down because he had been in denial. Voldemort's body was being displayed in the ministry for the next week so everyone can come and see that he is gone for good. Not the most pleasant thing to use as a decoration but it erases all the doubt from people's minds.
Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George, Ginny, Parvati, Draco and I were all awarded the order of Merlin first class. We were approached about having some books written about us by a squib author who called herself J. . I shared with her my memories of the last timeline's books so that she could write that for the muggle world. I didn't want those to change. Then we all shared memories of what really happened for history books in the wizarding world. Everyone now knew that I was from the future but I was hardly bothered about it.
All the death eaters had been imprisoned or sentenced to the dementors kiss. Draco was a bit upset when his father was given the kiss but he knew it had to be done. This means that Lucius can't cast the spell to stop muggle born's being born.
Since Amelia Bones never died in this timeline, she was appointed minster of magic. It was no longer possible to bribe your way out of prison so all the death eaters and former death eaters got tried under veritaserum. The wizengamot was also looked into to see if any of them would be bias towards or against muggle borns. Many of them were found to be muggle haters and were made to leave.
Snape had been cleared of all charges as he was found to be innocent. He had been spying and when Dumbledore went off the deep end he was just trying to do damage control. After breaking the curse on the Defense Against the Dark Arts position, we gave it to him on the condition that he wouldn't be bias towards his students.
Much to Harry's annoyance the ministry were also putting up big pictures of us in the entrance hall so that everyone will always know what we did. Apparently they were to be updated once a year. That's going to be annoying, I hate pictures.
Fred and George were also using their publicity to start their joke shop a year early. Their mother wasn't happy about them dropping out of school but, by nothing short of a miracle, they managed to ware her down.
I didn't know what the future held for any of us but all I can do is hope it will be a good one.

A/N:
There it is folks.
If you're committed to the idea of Annie and Fred living happily ever after, I recommend checking out my one-shot epilogue After the Story. If you're open to some knew adventures and a new love interest for little Annie, check out the sequel Outside the Story.
If you liked my 12-14 year old ramblings, feel free to check out my other story Sooner or Later. I wrote it when I was about 16 so the writing is slightly better, although I'm not sure by how much.
