19 Old Friends New Discoveries

The trip to Wisconsin took two days. As they were camping out in the RV Jack made a comment about wanting them to be bright eyed and bushy tailed when they met Masters. That got Jazz excited she had heard of Vlad Masters before, he was a tech mogul who lived mostly on his own in a literal castle. He also greeted them when they arrived.

"Ah Maddie, you've never looked lovelier my dear and Jack Fenton! And these must be your children!" Maddie nodded as Jack grinned. Maddie put her hands on her daughter's shoulders as Vlad opened the door for them.

"This is Jazmine and Danielle." Vlad nodded grinning as the door closed behind them. Vlad stepped over to Maddie.

"It is lovely to see you again after all these years Maddie." Jazz looked around critically.

"Unlike this interior, I mean green and gold? Why are these the only colors here? You're a millionaire, you can afford an interior designer." Dani rolled her eyes at her sister.

"Jazz he's a Packers fanatic." Vlad smiled a Dani.

"Ah someone with good taste in football."

"Why don't you just buy the team?" Jazz asked.

"Because the Packers are owned by the city of Green Bay and the won't sell them to me." He practically snarled. Then he straightened slightly, eyes fixed on Maddie. "One of two things my wealth has yet to acquire." Jazz and Dani shared a look.

"Is he hitting on mom?" Dani whispered to her sister. Jazz shook her head.

"As long as he has a working toilet, and mom says no, I do not care." Dani rolled her eyes as Maddie pulled the door open letting Jack into the room. Dani stepped over to a glass case that held a football.

"Oh cool!" Vlad nodded stepping over to the case.

"That my child is signed by the legendary Ray Nitschke himself. It's my prized possession." He said with a fond smile. That vanished when Jack wrapped an arm around him.

"What do you say we toss this old pigskin around, eh Vladdie! Show us the old moves!" Jack grinned playfully socking Vlad in the shoulder. Vlad's face darkened.

"I don't have any old moves, those years in the hospital robbed me of that!" For an instant he glared at Jack but he quickly pulled himself together. "But I must say I wasn't expecting you for another two days." Jack frowned pulling the invitation out of his jumpsuit.

"That's weird, the invitation says the reunion is tomorrow." Vlad stepped over next to Jack.

"Oh dear me! I was afraid this might happen. See there was originally a misprint with the invitations. I thought I'd gotten it all straightened out! I am so sorry!" Maddie frowned at Jack.

"Well I suppose we can get a hotel room in town." Maddie suggested.

"Oh no I insist you stay here! This old castle is plenty big enough for all of us! It was my mistake that caused this after all." Vlad said with a smile. "You know, this castle was owned by the Dairy King. And legend has it that his ghost haunts these very halls." Jack lit up like a Christmas tree.

"I'll get the bags!" He proclaimed, rushing off to the RV. Vlad grinned.

"Lovely, let me show you around." Vlad showed them to separate rooms, they were all lavish and Jazz was absolutely in love with his library. Dani was pleased to discover a pool, she'd been hoping to convince her parents to stay at a hotel with one so she'd actually brought her swimsuit. Vlad had told them they had the run of the castle for the next few days so Dani was going to take full advantage of that. She wore herself out in the pool so when she woke to her ghost sense going off that night she was less than happy.

"Oh great a working vacation."

Vlad had been planning this for ages. He'd sent the wrong invitation to the Fenton's on purpose. He'd wanted them here so he could stage the accident that would be the end of Jack Fenton. That way he could have Maddie to himself while she mourned, he could comfort her and win her at the same time. He hadn't really expected them to bring their children, but that wasn't going to stop him. Until it did when Dani Phantom showed up. Vlad beat her easily, throwing her out into the hall. He was expecting the ghost to be laying on the floor, where she'd be easily capturable so that he could experiment on her later. But as he stepped into the hall she passed out. As she did a ring of white lights appeared at her middle and he froze in his tracks as the ring split and spread over the Phantom, turning her into an unconscious Dani Fenton.

"Phantom is a half ghost? Jack's own daughter." Vlad laughed as he transformed back to normal, looking down on the slightly bruised teen, a gleam in his eyes. The vultures he'd hired flew through the floor.

"Well are we killing the bug guy or not?" One of them demanded and Vlad glared eyes flashing red. The vultures cowered.

"Change in plans. Leave Jack to me. For now, let's get this one back to bed, and be gentle. I have plans for her." The Vultures nodded, two of them picking up Dani and carrying her through the wall and back into her room. He spotted her ghost sense go off as they neared her and frowned slightly. Hers was far bluer than his had ever been. He'd been able to pass his off as a bad smoking habit for years. He hummed to himself as he opened the door to her room, just a crack. She was still out cold, being tucked under the blankets by the vultures. Yes, this could work out quite well for him.
