Kim gave a sigh, and collapsed on her bed. The days in the Devildom seemed longer than normal, but perhaps it was just because of how dark the sky always was, like a never ending night.

Of course, having dinner with only five of the brothers seemed to take forever. Who knew that without Mammon, everyone would be so quiet? she asked herself. And she could tell that they all felt something was wrong, but nobody was willing to admit it.

Hearing her D.D.D. buzz, had her lifting it close enough so that she wouldn't have to move her head from the pillow.

Leviathan: You know what human? I'll make this easy for you, and it'll be win-win, ok?!

Kim groaned, rolling her eyes.

Kimberly: Making a pact sounds nice and all, but I don't have anything to offer, so how would I even go about doing that?

Leviathan: Sounds like you think my plan will work, not that I care what you think. Besides, I know exactly what Mammon wants. In fact, he wants it so much, he'll kill to get it back.

Kimberly: Oh yeah?

Leviathan: You think I don't know what you're thinking?! That you'll get it for him and just hand it over, so he'll be nice to u?! That's what you're thinking, isn't it?! Well, no way! If you want my help, then you have to make the pact, and get me my money back!

Kimberly: Ugh. You know what? Forget I asked.

Leviathan: Fiiiiine!

Letting the D.D.D. drop to the bed, she closed her eyes and gave another sigh. I haven't even been here a week, and I'm already tired, she thought.

The bedroom door slammed open, and she shot up in fright.

"D'ah! Wrong room!"

He left as quickly as he came in, and it took a few moments for her brain to realize that she had just seen Mammon.

"Mammon?!" she called, hustling off the bed to chase after him. "Wait!"

She could see glimpses of him as she chased after him, and could even hear his voice echo through the hallway as he cried, "No time! Gonna be late!"

She ran into the kitchen, looking around, and stopping to stare. There at the counter stood Beelzebub and …. Beelzebub. There were two of him, and Kim shook her head, trying to understand what was happening.

"Want a cookie? They're pretty good," the closer of the two asked.

"Uh, sure," Kim replied, coming slightly closer as she gazed at the two of them, trying to discover what exactly she was seeing. Perhaps it is some sort of magic? she wondered, or maybe I am just going crazy...

Kim reached out and took the cookie, pulling back her arm quickly in case either Beel decided to try taking a bite out of her. She looked down at it, seeing a delicately frosted sugar cookie, with the words "eat me" printed in frosting on top.

"So Beel…" she asked, as she took a bite. "What's going on with- " she stopped as she felt something strange.

There was a quick feeling of heat, right on the top of her head, then a weight, as if something was now sitting there.

"Look, it's a rabbit!" the second Beel said to the first.

"Heh heh," the other chuckled. "Yeah, a rabbit," he replied.

"What?" Kim asked, reaching up, and feeling something long and soft. She pulled down on one of them, seeing the top of a rabbit's ear, the fur of which almost matched her hair. She made a garbled noise as she realized that she could feel the ear- not just with her hands- but she could feel the pinch from her fingers as if the ear was hers.

"What… what is going on?!" she cried, as she dropped the rest of the cookie.

"Hey, don't waste food, bunny," one of the Beels admonished her. He reached down to pick it up, and popped the remainder in his mouth.

She waited with bated breath, but nothing happened to him.

"So why did you run in here?" the other Beel asked, reminding her that she was looking for Mammon. She decided to just focus on that, and figure out the whole rabbit ear thing later. It was most likely a curse, so she would need expert help.

"I'm following Mammon," she replied. "Where did he go?"

The two of them looked at each other, then at her with a shrug. "Don't know," the first one said. "But I know where a bunny is!"

"Yeah, me too!" the other said with a grin. "Let's play, bunny!"

Kim looked at him like he was the one who had sprouted ears. "Did whatever magic that made two of you make you lose your mind?" she wondered aloud.

The pair looked at each other in confusion. "Two of me?" they asked in unison, and pointed to the other. "That's not me, that's my twin!"

She realized she wasn't going to get anywhere with these two, and wondered where she should go. Lucifer is the most likely one to help me get rid of these ears… she thought glumly. Though I don't want him to see me like this, since I'll probably get a long lecture.

"It's okay bunny," one of the Beels said, as he came up towards her. "I think you're so cute, and I want to pick you up, and pet you over and over again."

Her eyes went wide, as he moved to do just that, and she stepped back, deciding she had better get moving, looking for someone else to help her. She ran out of the kitchen hearing Beel's cries of dismay. "Come back bunnnyyy!"

She moved towards the entrance hall, deciding that if Mammon was late for something, he may have already run out the door. She came in on a jog, and stopped short yet again, seeing someone there.

He turned to look at her, and she could see it wasn't Mammon, it was Asmodeus. And he looked like he had sprouted a pair of ears of his own… though they weren't rabbit ears.

"Well hello…" he purred at her, and she stepped back automatically. "What a gorgeous little rabbit," he continued.

"Have you seen Mammon?" she asked, ignoring the fact that he looked like a cat.

"Who needs him?" Asmo asked in reply, as he moved closer. "Now that you're here, that's all I need."

Kim rolled her eyes. The man was an insatiable flirt. "Not now Asmodeus, I'm looking for Mammon, and I ran into two of Beel, and somehow a cookie gave me rabbit ears. It's been a weird afternoon."

He gave a throaty chuckle that had Kim's insides churning, and she ruthlessly yelled at herself for her reaction. "Those two idiots, hmm?" he asked. "Though they had the right idea to want to play with you. Such an adorable little bunny…"

She frowned as his words struck a chord. "How did you know what-?" she started, but was interrupted as Mammon came running into the entryway.

She gaped at him as he gave her a glare. "The Hatter wants to see you," he snipped. "Hurry up! Gonna be late!" and ran off again.

"Wha-?" she tried to ask, but he was already gone. She turned to look at Asmo, seeing that he looked like he was grooming himself. "What just happened?" she asked, perplexed.

"Hmm?" Asmo asked lazily as he glanced at her. "Oh, it seems you've been summoned. Just go and see the Hatter, little bunny."

"Who the heck is that?!" she replied, feeling as if she were going mad.

Asmo rolled his eyes, but held out a hand for her. "I can take you if you'd like," he offered. "Or you could go on your own… your choice."

She went to tug at her hair, feeling the rabbit ears once again, and deciding having some help wouldn't be bad. She reached out and put her hand in his, ignoring as his thumb rubbed over the back of hers.

"Come with me then," he said lowly, and started off into the house.

She followed mindlessly, trying to make sense of everything that was happening, though it didn't make sense to her. I'll have to just play along then, and try to figure it out as I go… she determined.

Eventually they came to the great room, and Kim narrowed her eyes at Asmo, as she realized that he had taken her on a very roundabout way to get there. He just gave her a wicked smile in return as he pulled out a chair for her. She sat, and looked around the table.

At the head, sat Diavolo, with Barbatos next to him and pouring him tea. Diavolo was wearing one of the largest hats she had seen, though it somehow seemed to fit him, and Barbatos looked as if he had eaten a cookie as well, as he had rabbit ears coming from his head.

Across from her, sat Beel and his twin, eating rapidly, though they would stop every few moments to delicately sip some tea. It was a very strange sight.

Asmo sat next to her, and moved his chair close enough that they were touching. He too had tea, and would bat at the ends of her hair as he sipped it.

"Welcome!" Diavolo boomed at her with a grin. "Would you like some tea?"

"Uh, no thank you," Kim replied. "After the incident with the cookie, I'd better not."

"A cookie?" Barbatos asked, as he moved to pour more tea for the others. "What happened?"

"I ate a cookie, and these ears showed up," she answered, giving one of them a tug. "And that's not even the beginning of the weirdness," she said as she eyed the Beels and Asmo.

"I see," Diavolo said with a grin, as if she had just told him something wonderful. "Are you saying that you aren't a rabbit?" he asked.

She turned to him incredulously. "Of course not! I'm a human, remember?!"

"A human?" a Beel asked, looking at her skeptically. "Are you sure?"

"Looks like a bunny to me," the other replied.

"I just have bunny ears," Kim answered tersely. "And I'll find a way to get rid of them."

"Hmm," Diavolo mused. "If you truly are human, then the only way to get rid of those ears is to see the Queen of Hearts. He's the only one that could help you."

"HE is?" she asked, wondering if she heard that correctly.

"Yes," Barbatos answered. "Though they are lovely, you could simply keep them."

"Thank you, but no," Kim replied, not wanting to insult him. "I want to be back to myself."

"The bunny can stay and play with us," a Beel said.

"Oh yes, I know lots of games…" Asmo said with a smirk.

"I'm sure…" Kim replied under her breath. Then speaking up so they could all hear, she asked. "No, I'm a human, so I can't stay and play, I need to get these ears gone."

The Beel on the left looked at her again. "Maybe the bunny is a human?" he asked his twin.

"There is only one way to know for sure," the other replied.

They paused a moment, before nodding to each other and turning to her. "We'd have to taste it to be sure," they said together, smiling at her with large fang like teeth.

Kim jumped up, and took off running. If even one of the Beelzebub's caught her, she was as good as dead- she wouldn't be able to talk him out of it, or be rescued by Asmo, so she had to run.

"Hey, Bunny!" she heard behind her, though she wasn't certain who all was yelling after her.

She ran up the stairs, hoping that if she was followed, she could simply hide in any number of rooms. As she turned at the top of the stairs, she could hear shouting, and she grinned. She'd recognize that voice anywhere.

"D'ah! Let go of me!"

She stopped in front of Mammon, who was being held by Satan and Levi- both who were dressed peculiarly.

"You're coming with us, so just stop resisting!" Levi muttered. He looked like a soldier, with a pressed white uniform, that was trimmed in red hearts. As she looked closer, Kim could see that all the accents, even on his shoes and hat were hearts.

"The Queen wants to see you, there's nothing you can do," Satan said, and Kim looked over at him. He too was wearing a uniform, but is it much more ornate than the one that Levi wore. And his was trimmed with black clovers.

"No! I don't wanna!" Mammon cried, looking pitiful. "Just let me go!"

"You think you can get away from a card soldier?" Levi sneered.

"Or the King of Clubs?" Satan asked mildly. "There is no way. We are taking you to see the Queen."

"Wait!" Kim called, and they looked over to her in surprise, as if they hadn't noticed that she was there. "I need to see the Queen!"

Satan looked her up and down, though he didn't relinquish his hold on Mammon. "Why?" he asked.

"I was told the Queen was the only one that could get rid of these rabbit ears for me," she explained. "That's what the Hatter, and the Cat said, anyway."

"Well, in this case they are correct," Satan replied. "So if that's what you want, you may come."

Kim froze for a moment, thinking that that had been far too easy, especially with the look of horror on Mammon's face.

"Uh… what is the Queen of Hearts like?" she asked in trepidation.

She could see both of the soldiers look uneasy before Satan finally responded. "He is… the ruler. So everything is subject to his whims."

"He can be fair," Levi spoke up. "As long as you don't make him angry."

"I don't think I have much choice," Kim muttered. "Let's go."

She followed behind them, as they marched off with Mammon- who was trying to get away from them. She followed them up another staircase that she hadn't even known existed in the house, and as they moved through a door, it was as if she were transported to an entirely different world.

It was a huge throne room, and looked as if it were influenced by several different cultures. There were huge tapestries on the walls, with soldiers lining the way in on either side. There were tables full of decadent foods, a string quartet in the corner playing classical music, and several jesters that were trying to be entertaining to a man that sat on a humongous throne that was atop a dais.

She recognized Lucifer as he sat there, looking bored and unimpressed with the entire place. He was dressed in amazingly rich fabrics, with a robe that looked as if it weighed more than she did. He had jeweled rings on each of his fingers, and a crown on his head that was topped with a large ruby in the shape of a heart.

She simply stared at him, she couldn't help it. He looked as if he belonged in those clothes, almost more so than they ones she had seen him in previously.

As she watched him, he noticed them entering. His eyes lit up, and a small smirk graced his face, making Kim feel a little light headed. She quickly shook her head, telling herself to get a grip. She was here to figure out what was going on, not swoon over Lucifer of all people.

She moved forward so that she was behind Satan once more- as they had taken Mammon closer to the Queen. She watched in silence as he was given a farce of a trial, but when the Queen sentenced him to be executed, she gasped and pushed forward, putting herself in front of Mammon.

"You can't do that!" she cried. "He hasn't done anything wrong!"

Lucifer looked down at her, and she felt as if things were finally back to normal. This look she recognized, as he wore it each time he spoke to her. A look of mild interest combined with disdain.

"He was late," he replied. "And as the Queen, it is my prerogative to do as I will with my subjects." He looked over to Satan. "King of clubs," he asked. "Who is this?"

"This rabbit claims to be a human, and desires to leave the kingdom," Satan replied. "We decided to bring her before you."

"That was the right decision, well done," Lucifer answered, and Kim could hear Levi breathe a sigh of relief. "Her trial will start now," he continued.

"Wait, what?!" Kim said, shocked. "What could I possibly be on trial for?!"

"To decide your fate," he replied calmly, seeming pleased to see her distress. "You are obviously not from here, as determined by your ears. The spell only works on outsiders after all," he explained.

"I don't know how I got here," she said miserably. "I just want to go home!"

"Regardless," Lucifer replied, ignoring her plea. "I find you guilty."

"And the sentence?" Satan asked, as he grabbed a hold of her arm to prevent her from trying to escape.

"Hmm…" Lucifer the Queen mused with a smile. "I do believe she will make an excellent slave," he responded. "The only fitting course for outsiders."

"No…" she mumbled, wondering how in the world everything had gotten so jumbled.

"No, she can't!" Mammon shouted suddenly, worming away from Levi's hold to run to her. "She isn't yours!"

"Mammon…" she whispered, so touched that he would fight for her.

"Restrain him," Lucifer commanded. "Take him to the execution platform immediately. And take her to the slave quarters," he told Levi.

"At once, your highness," Satan and Levi said together.

Mammon was pulled away from her, crying "NO!"

Kim started shaking her head as Levi pulled her to her feet. "This makes absolutely no sense!" she wailed. Looking up as her friend was pulled away to be executed, she called after him. "MAMMON!"

Levi opened the door a crack, finally fed up with knocking, and peered into the human's room. Perhaps she was still angry with him, and was refusing to answer the door- he could see that, as he did it all the time. Still… if he didn't get the human to RAD, Lucifer would have his hide- and he was more scared of Lucifer than the human.

At the moment, however, he was having a hard time remembering that- as his hand shook as he pushed open the door slightly. Why do I have to be the one to get the human? he complained to himself. This is why she just needs to get the credit card, and lure Mammon back. Then everything would go back to normal.

He sneered as he remembered the previous day's council meeting. Since Lucifer didn't have Mammon to harp on, his attention had turned to the rest of them, but most especially Levi. Normally Lucifer left him alone, but now? It was all talk of taking his share of the workload, and getting out of his room more. Ugh. As if. Didn't he know who he was talking to?

Levi stepped in, looking for the human as his eyes fell on the TV. It looked like it was one of his previous ones. There were plenty, as he was constantly upgrading, and he didn't begrudge Lucifer giving it to the human to use. He was more curious as to what she was using it for.

He forgot his nerves as he saw the Nintendo console, his eyes lighting up as he picked up the few games that were stacked next to it, and browsed through them. He always tried to get his hands on human world games, but it wasn't as easy as he would have liked, and his envy sparked into a giant flame as he looked at the game boxes.

It isn't fair! The humans don't even know how good they have it! They just take it all for granted, while I sit here at home and just wish for what they could have so easily…

He fumed, as he set the boxes back down, and the fire slowly went back to a simmer. Not that I deserve it anyway, he told himself.

A noise had him turning, and he saw the human was still asleep on the bed. The sheets were twined around her body and legs, as if she had been tossing and turning. She was wearing the same clothes she had on last night at dinner, and must have simply dozed off before changing for bed.

He stepped closer, wondering how he could wake her up without actually touching her. His scowl became a look of surprise as he heard her murmur Mammon's name.

Something must have happened that we don't know about… to have her dreaming of that piece of slime, he thought. Wonder what it was.

After some deliberation, he finally decided to give the human a poke- and hoped that that would wake her up.

He reached out, and pushed his finger into the side of her face.

Kim woke with a start, her eyes flying open, and seeing Levi in front of her, she screamed in fright, just as he did.

He jumped backwards, putting his arm up to block his face from her view. "You scared me!" he accused.

Breathing heavily, Kim held a hand to to chest as her heart pounded. "Likewise," she muttered. She looked around, happily noting that she was in her room, and Levi looked as he always had. She concluded she must have been dreaming. "What are you doing in here?" she asked.

Levi looked at her in confusion, as she sat up, and started patting the top of her head, as if looking for something, then relaxing with a sigh of relief. "Look human, we need to get going. Everyone already left for RAD, and you're going to miss your first class at this rate. Lucifer won't be happy."

He was skeptical of the look on her face, but figured it was usually how people reacted to an angry Lucifer. "So get up, get your uniform on, and let's go. You missed breakfast, but there are some cookies in the kitchen-"

"No!" she yelled, interrupting him. He frowned at the human, thinking she was even stranger than the last time he saw her.

"Okay… no cookies then," he replied, turning and moving towards the door. He decided in that moment to adjust the way he handled the human.

He stopped at the threshold, and spoke without turning to face her. "I know you seem opposed to making a pact with Mammon, but what I think you are overlooking is that if you get the thing he wants, he'll come back home. Something to think about."

He left then, closing the door behind him, not seeing the incredulous look on her face.

She knew they were late, and by the time RAD came into view, she knew she wouldn't be going to her first class at all. She simply nodded when Levi told her they were going to Lucifer's office first.

She wasn't sold on his idea of a pact, but she wanted Mammon back. Perhaps it was the dream that pushed her to finally ask Levi what his plan was, but it had felt so real. She knew in her head that it was merely her own thoughts causing some sort of strange "Alice in Wonderland" themed dream- but she couldn't seem to shake it.

Honestly, she could think of worse things than making a pact with Mammon. She wasn't going to make him do things that he didn't want to, she'd never treat him like she was his master or something. But if Solomon had made seventy pacts, one with Asmodeus to say the least, then obviously it wasn't something that demons were opposed to.

And besides, she told herself, it will help me acclimate here more quickly, and hopefully to become accepted, like Solomon is.

She smiled to herself. I guess I've decided then… thank goodness Levi is going to do most of the work.

"What's wrong Kimberly?" Lucifer asked, seeing the signs of a restless night on her face.

"Nothing," she replied, giving him a tight smile. He simply continued to look at her in question, until she sighed. "Okay, it was a bad dream, that felt real. I am still trying to shake it off."

"I see," he answered. "Do you want to talk about it?"

She looked up at him, wondering if he meant it, and what she should say. She finally nodded, deciding that if she was going to ask him about Mammon, she should be willing to open up as well.

"It was some sort of twist on Alice in Wonderland, are you familiar with the story?" she asked, and he nodded. "I guess, you could say Kimberly in Demonland is more accurate."

"Oh?" he asked, seeming intrigued.

"But it was different," she continued, glazing over most of the details. "Mammon was the white rabbit, always yelling about being late. There was Beel, and his twin that were like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum, and they tried to eat me."

She wondered why that statement had him looking upset, but kept going.

"Asmo was the Cheshire cat, but was his usual self. Diavolo was the Mad Hatter, with Barbatos as the March Hare, and they were having a tea party. I ate a cookie that said "eat me" but instead of growing or shrinking, I ended up with large bunny ears, and everyone thought I was a rabbit."

"Interesting," he replied as he sat in his chair, watching her.

"Then Satan and Levi took Mammon and I before the Queen of Hearts. There was some sort of trial, and Mammon was sentenced to be executed." She stopped there, looking down and frowning.

After a moment, he spoke. "And how did I sentence you?"

She looked up in surprise.

"Don't seem so shocked," he said mildly. "It was obvious that that was the role I was playing, as you mentioned everyone else by name. Besides, it was only a dream. So? What was your sentence?" he asked.

"It doesn't matter," she said, unwilling to say it. "It wasn't really you, it was just a dream, though it did get me thinking about Mammon."

He looked at her, as if he could read her thoughts, and she squirmed a little in her chair, looking away from him. Obviously it was something bad, and she doesn't want to insult me, he deduced. "Why would you want to think about him?" he asked.

"Because…" she emphasized. "He's been gone for three days now, and I want him to come back." She looked slightly embarrassed as she continued. "And there are a few students in my classes that have expressed the same."

He gave a smirk. "Not liking Satan as your bodyguard, are they?" he commented. "He may be rigid, but it is a much better arrangement than with Mammon."

Kim frowned at him. "Why do you say that? You act as though you don't like Mammon."

Lucifer looked at her, and gave a shrug. "He's my brother, so I'll put this as delicately as I can." He cleared his throat, and looked directly in her eyes. "He is scum. The scummiest form of scum. He is so bad that I hate calling him a fellow demon, let alone my brother."

He saw the look of reprehension she gave him, and decided to move on. "So… that being said, he is my brother."

She looked as though she could read between the lines, so he let it go. "Anything else I should know about him? You know, for when he comes back. Are there any… weaknesses, that he has? You know, just in case of trouble."

"What exactly are you implying?" he scoffed, understanding dawning. "You think I know his weaknesses, and can exploit them when I like? I suppose in a way, that is true. However, that isn't the only reason he can't say no me."

He smiled, and she wondered what those other reason may have been, but didn't ask and he continued. "He is susceptible to temptation just as any demon, however he gives in more than one should. So, I take it upon myself to assist when I can."

"You do?" she asked cautiously. It almost sounds like he cares… almost.

"Yes. In fact, recently I've taken one temptation of his, and frozen it."

She looked at him, wondering what exactly he meant by that.

"Well now, it seems that the bell is about to ring," he said, just as it began to do so. "And that means second class will begin soon, so it is time to go with Levi. I will retrieve notes for you from your first class, so you will not fall behind."

"Th- thank you," she mumbled, her thoughts going in several different directions. She wondered if she would be able to pay attention at all that day.

"Read 'em and weep. It's a straight flush."

Solomon grinned as his words caused the two demons to groan.

"All I needed was the ace of spades!" Asmo cursed.

"So Solomon wins again, huh? How many times in a row is that now?" Satan asked with a sigh.

"Hmm, one hundred and eighty-three," Solomon replied with a smile as he retrieved the cards into the deck and began shuffling.

Asmo glared at him. "You aren't using a spell are you? Altering the cards in your hands?" he asked.

Solomon tilted his chin up. "Now now, I'm not like you demons, and don't appreciate being accused of behaving like one. I am but a simple human, an innocent lamb."

Satan smiled wryly. "I'm surprised you can say that with a straight face, considering you're the most powerful sorcerer in the history of mankind."

"Wow, such high praise, Satan, I'm honored," Solomon responded. "Still, to be honest, if Mammon were here, he likely would have broken my winning streak long ago."

"True," Satan said with a chuckle. "As soon as money is involved, he'll make sure it becomes his, almost like some sort of superpower."

"Mm, you're right," Asmo agreed as he put his elbow in the desk and laid his cheek on his hand. "Strange considering he's usually such a dolt."

"Kimberly mentioned that you all were always putting Mammon down," Solomon said, considering, as he started to deal the cards. "He is your older brother, isn't he? Shouldn't that command some respect?"

"Not with Mammon, it doesn't," Asmo replied cheekily.

"Speaking of Kimberly and Mammon, that reminds of of what I heard from Lucifer earlier today," Satan said.

"So, ignoring what I said…" Solomon muttered.

"Lucifer said that Kimberly is trying to make a pact with Mammon."

"What?!" Asmo exclaimed, though he kept his voice quiet so as not to attract attention. "Our human? Make a pact with Mammon?"

"Interesting…" Solomon said, his mind going back to his talks of pacts with her. Perhaps something he had said had helped after all. The thought made him smile.

"Are you for real?!" Asmo asked. "That's hilarious! What else so you know? C'mon Satan, dish!"

"According to Lucifer, she is helping Levi to make a deal with Mammon to get what they want. It seems that they are looking for that credit card of his- the one Lucifer confiscated."

"I see. So she plans to offer this credit card in exchange for making a pact then?"

"Back up," Asmo said, waving his arms in front of them both. "There is so much to unpack here! Kimberly is helping LEVI? Levi, the super otaku who never even comes out of his room! Can he truly be capable of working with a live person, let alone a female?!"

Asmo pointed to Satan. "And how does Lucifer know all this anyway?"

"Apparently, she came and asked him directly, trying to figure out where the card is," Satan replied smugly.

"WHAT?! She did?!" Asmo reeled in shock, as Solomon laughed. Asmo rounded on him, "What's so funny about that?" he demanded.

"Just the other day she was asking me of pacts, and saying she wouldn't make one," he explained. "It's quite the turn of events, isn't it? I can't help but think she really shows a lot of promise."

"Well," Satan added. "Lucifer must've felt the same way, because he said that he gave her a hint about the location of the card."

"You're kidding," Asmo said quietly, seeming awed. "Wow, he must have taken a liking to her, for him to do that." He thought for a moment. "So, do you think Mammon will agree to the pact, if it means getting his credit card back?"

"The plan is likely Levi's, seeing as Kimberly wouldn't have known about the card. And Levi knows him better than most, so I think it likely that it will work," Solomon deduced.

"I agree," Satan said. "though he will probably throw quite a tantrum over it first."

"You all act like entering into a pact is some huge thing," Asmo said loftily. "Making a pact with a human isn't such a big deal." He looked over and fluttered his lashes at Solomon. "I mean look at us, we're in a pact, and Solomon has plenty more too."

"I've been fortunate," Solomon agreed.

"You're in a small minority in that regard," Satan said seriously. "We demons are generally a proud folk after all."

"Regardless, I can't afford to be complacent, can I?" Solomon asked. "Otherwise, Kimberly might beat me to the punch and forge a pact with Lucifer before I can."

"Good luck with that!" Asmo chuckled.

"You say that," Satan said as he looked at Solomon, "but you don't seem the least bit concerned to me."

"I'm interested in seeing where this is going," Solomon admitted. "It's rare to see Lucifer interested in anyone besides Diavolo, let alone a human."

"Guess he's added a new favorite person to his list to go along with Mammon," Satan chuckled.

"He and Mammon have such a strange relationship, from what I've observed," Solomon frowned.

"He acts as though he hates him, doesn't he?" Asmo said, pensively. "And yet whenever Mammon is in trouble, he swoops in at the last minute, like that time that witch was trying to force him into a pact in order to pay his debt to her."

Satan frowned. "That's not how I heard it," he said. "I heard that there were ten witches all fighting to make a pact with him, and Lucifer suggested they simply cut him into ten equal pieces."

"And how could ten pieces be equal?" Amso asked skeptically. "I mean, if you get the head, or the butt, good for you. But what if you get stuck with just an arm or a leg?"

Solomon looked at him like he was crazy. "You think ending up with his butt would be a GOOD thing?" he asked.

"Of course!" Amso giggled with delight. "I LOVE butts!"

Satan shook his head at his brother. "Or what about the time that Mammon tried to throw a stack of bills into the fireplace so that Lucifer wouldn't see them?" he suggested, changing the subject before Asmo got going. "Lucifer caught him and threatened to throw him and the bills into the fires of hell."

"Oh yeah, I remember!" Asmo grinned. "Eventually he let him off because he broke down crying and apologizing." He pulled out his D.D.D. and started looking through his gallery. "I have a picture of it somewhere on my phone."

Solomon and Satan's eyebrows rose in unison.

"You've got to send that to me," Satan said.

"Me too," Solomon added.

"And… SENT!" Asmo cheered as he did as they asked. "Which reminds me of another one! Remember when Mammon was trying to get a photo of Lucifer when he was asleep?"

Satan smirked. "Oh yeah, so he could sell it to all the succubi at RAD."

"That would have turned a tidy profit," Solomon mused.

"Yes, except he followed Lucifer for days, but eventually he was the one that fell asleep, not Lucifer. So Lucifer took a picture of him instead!"

"Oh, so that was why Lucifer had a picture of Mammon sleeping as his lock screen for years," Satan said as understanding dawned.

Solomon chuckled. "That's a nice story," he said. "Those two really do love each other, huh?"

"That's what you got from these stories?!" Satan asked, perplexed.

"Regardless of how nice the stories are," Asmo interrupted, "there is no arguing that Mammon is one of Lucifer's favorite demons."

"And now he has a soft spot for Kimberly as well…" Solomon murmured. "I wonder which will come out on top? Care to have a friendly wager on it?" he proposed.

"Obviously Lucifer will, he is the greatest," Asmo replied with a smirk.

"Well since I agree, a wager is out of the question," Solomon replied. "How about another hand then?" he asked, picking of the stack of cards.

"Deal me in," Satan commanded. "And this time, I am going to win."

Asmo fluttered his eyelashes at his brother, and shook his head. "Satan, I'm beginning to think you're as much a masochist as Mammon is," he said.
