Abomination Witch
Luz surprise revelation apparently didn't have any effect on Amity.
Maybe she thought that the twins had changed Kikimora's appearance as a way to distract her.
Or…
Maybe she was so blinded by the rage that she literally didn't even see Luz true form.
Nobody cloud know for sure and in reality, the only thing on everyone minds right now was impeding the obliteration of the room… and of themselves.
"You won't ignore me!"
Amity´s eyes where glowing with a strange purple light, it was as if her eyes were burning with magic.
The twins and Luz were too shocked to event attempt an answer to the angry Amity, this caused her to be even more furious.
"Silence?! No… Not this time!"
Amity drew a circle with her finger and two monstrous purple, slimy hands came out of the floor, they appeared right in front of the trio. The hands were too big to pass through them making an escape attempt impossible, at least for the main door.
"Not ever…!"
Before anyone could talk some sense into Amity the hands were now clenched into a pair of fists
"Again!"
Luz quickly threw the twins down to the floor, the purple arms hit the wall of Amity's room with such force that the ancient walls creaked a bit.
Since Luz couldn't possibly know why amity was furious, she jumped to the conclusion that it was because of her, because of her lies.
"Miss Amity please calm down; I didn't mean to lie to you."
Amity appeared to be genuinely confused by the answer of the human as if she had completely forgotten that there was a bystander next to the twins. Still, she didn't put down her abomination arms.
"Sis look, we were only trying to protect you, we didn't want to hurt your friend." Said Edric.
As if Ed couldn't have picked a worst answer Amity´s eyes glowed with intense fury again.
"And what right do you have to decide who can be my friend!"
The monstrous arms lunged for the twins, taking them between their biting fingers.
Luz could only watch; without her glyphs she was powerless…
"Tell me!... tell me why you did that to her!"
"Sis listen!... she wasn't who she claimed to be, we were just trying to keep you safe… it is the least we could…"
Before Emira could finish the sentence, the abomination arms squeezed the twins tighter making them groan in pain.
"You knew who Willow was! You know her! You didn't need to protect me! And how… how could you say something like that?! Protect me? You despise me! I know that now… everyone… everyone in this Titan forsaken family does!"
Confusion appeared on the twins' faces. Even in the pain they couldn't understand what was happening.
They looked at each other with fear and confusion.
Willow? What does willow have to do with the human? They thought.
"Amity what are you talking about? What does Willow have to do with anything right now?"
"Don't play the fool now… it's too late for that."
Luz didn't understand a thing but… Willow? That name… that was who Amity was talking earlier today.
"Amity! Agh" The abomination arms were getting their clench tighter by the second "Amity please let us explain" Said Edric.
"I'm over with you two… I'm done with this family of…"
Luz knew she needed to do something, and she needed to do it quickly.
Even without my glyphs… No… I'm not powerless. The good witch Azura nevers gives up and neither do I.
Luz walked towards Amity carefully passing by the abomination arms. Amity didn't even notice or cared about her at this point.
When Luz was right in front of Amity she took a deep breath and then softly putted her hands in the cheeks of the furious witch.
"Miss amity I… I don't know what is happening now… but look at me please, just for a second, I beg you"
The physical contact made Amity came back to reality, if only for just a moment her eyes weren't "burning" quite intensely… No, her eyes where now glowing with a faint light resembling… sadness?
"My name is Luz, not Kirimora, I… I'm sorry that I lied to you, but I have my reasons… and now… I think you have your reasons to … do whatever this is… but is not ok… is not ok Amity… and I think you know it, so please let's just talk…"
Amity looked as if the words barely reached her. She didn't answer.
Luz didn't give up though.
Azura never surrenders after all.
Luz grabbed Amity's hands pulling them towards her.
"You mentioned Willow, didn't you? She is your best friend? … You know I never had a best friend but… if I had one, I don't think that I would like to see her like this… I know this may be painful but… please miss Amity calm down… if not for me… for Willow"
Luz then looked Amity right to her eyes waiting… waiting for the lady that liked Azura to come back.
Slowly the abomination arms started retreating to the puddle of goo where they came from, and at the same time the eyes of the witch started regaining her natural golden color.
You got beautiful eyes Amity. Thought Luz while things got back to normal
Luz slowly stepped back to let Amity some room to breathe.
Em and Ed were coughing on the floor, they were almost asphyxiated.
"S…sorry I… I didn't mean to…"
Amity was talking more to Luz that to her brothers, so it wasn't very clear of what was she apologizing for.
"I'm really sorry Kiri… uh?"
Amity eyes widened up. Who was in front of her?
"Uhm … hi?"
"Ejem"
"Thank you human…" Said Emira
Of course, the twins had some question for Luz but for now it was clear that they needed to calm their sister.
"So… sis… why did you try to…" Edric made a funny gesture simulating asphyxiating himself "…us and stuff."
The way Edric make the question did make Luz giggle a little, it was as if he really didn't care about what just happened.
"Yes… Amity look… is this is all about … us ignoring you and stuff… we have an explanation… but" Before she could finish her sentence Emira realize that this was not time to over speak "…yeah sorry."
"Are you still playing dumb with me!?"
"What? No, we really don't know what is happ…"
KNOCK KNOCK
"Amity, are you in there? We are almost at the time for the main event lady".
Amity's hearth and mind froze, if her mother found her like this… with the human…
The room was a disaster.
This was the worst scenario possible.
Emira seeing that Amity was not in condition to speak quickly answered.
"Sorry mom, we had a little accident with Kirimora here, we are helping her with some clothes, so please don't come, Amity is in here too."
Emira took some seconds before continuing. She was an expert devising lies to get what she wanted, but even her needed some time to process something coherent at the moment.
"Ahg… Sorry Ed really screw up this time with his jokes, we will go in a minute don't worry!"
Edric threw a glance at her sister as if saying "hey!"
"Oh, I apologize on behalf of my sons Dear Kiri… then if you excuse me."
Everyone stood quiet until the steps from the other side of the door couldn't be heard anymore.
"That was close" said Luz.
"Yes… hey! Who…? What are you?" Said Amity
"I'm…"
"One thing at the time please, we don't have much time here" said Emira.
Amity was in a weird mental state. Passing through fear, rage, and relief in a short period of time was definitely stressful for the mind
"So… and don't kill us please… why are you so mad with us… we really don't know Amity we swear."
Amity´s rage started to build up again, but she recognized the honesty in her brothers…

"Why did you tell Willow that we could no longer be friends?!"
Em and Ed looked at each other with confusion.
"Sis… we didn't do that"
"Don't lie to me!... please… I have the evidence look" Amity took the rugged letter from her pocket then extended it to Emira.
Emira took the piece of paper and gave it a quick read… then she passed it to Edric.

The rest of the letter was unrreadeable, the Ink was clearly blurried by tears, but there was something written at the reverse of the same letter
Dear Amity,
I don't understand but, I guess this is goodbye.
It was fun.

"That bitch…"
"uh?"
"Amity… I know you don't have any reason to believe us… but this it isn't ours… we didn't write this."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"Yes, I expect you to believe that, look closely, you know this handwriting"
"Also, we don't talk like that… like never ever" Said Emira
After some quick searching on the letter… yes it was obvious… painfully obvious
Probably as a mechanism of self-defense amity thought that it was impossible for her mother to be even more cruel, to be even more manipulative… It didn't make any sense for her brothers to write this in the first place… deep inside her Amity already knew the truth but… it was harder to accept.
"This is from my mom, isn't it?"
As soon as the words came out from Amity´s mouth, she started crying without control, she was devastated.
Emira ran and hug her very tight.
"I'm sorry Amity…is not your fault… I'm sorry that we… we are just sorry Sis"
Luz kind of felt out of place in this family scenario, she just wanted to leave it was… awkward but… also sad… she always had wanted a friend or a sister to hug her… it seemed… nice.
"Uhm… so… if you don't need me… I would appreciate if you could cast the illusion spell back and let me go… haha…ha."
Ed looked at Luz with a Machiavellic smile…
"Oh no human, you are not going anywhere."
"Sorry mother, I'm now fully available for what is necessary of me, I know this day is an important one so I will not let you down"
"Looks like your brothers make some sense into you…"
Odalia clearly said this with a bitter tone, even if they were just four minutes out of schedule it wasn't an acceptable behavior from a Blight.
"Well then you know your place, go to your chair, everybody is waiting for the banquet to begin"
"Of course, mother" said Amity while doing a quick reverence.
Amity then walked gracefully towards her position in the table, right next to her sister. After adjusting something with the chair Amity looked with the fakest smile at Emira.
"I'm going to kill you for this, why couldn't you be Amity?"
"You know that I don't know how to walk with heels as well as you do."
"Ha, ha, ha, you're just jealous"
"Maybe?"
After some minutes of sorting out the eating utensils "Amity" looked worried.
"... are you sure Amity is safe with the human?"
"Yes… well… I don't know but… she needs a friend now Ed… and we haven't been good brothers, I think this is a step in the right direction"
Emira wasn't proud of her behavior towards amity the last few months… They thought that Amity was leaving them and instead of protecting her or… spend the lasts days with her as a family they feel… betrayed?...
"Maybe you're right, just remember me to talk to Lilith before this is over, we don't want to make another scene right now"
Clink, Clink
Odalia got up from her sit and made everyone in the room pay her attention. And when a Blight speaks up… you better listen.
"Sheers to my daughter, today her special day…"
Ed had to fake a smile to all the comments her mother was doing about "her" since he was literally on Amity´s shoes right now he could feel what was like hearing this first hand.
"Hey sis?"
"Yeah?"
"After this we could throw a party for amity… you know… just her friends and us"
"Sometimes you do use you head uh?"
"So… you are a human?"
"I think so?"
Amity laughed, and in that moment, she realized how much she needed a space to be able to relax. She really needed this to let go…to be herself, and this dumb human was a good listener… and good company.
"You think so? How is that?"
"well, everyone says that I am human, but I haven't seen any humans ever in my life, so I only know what Belos told me"
Amity was a bit shocked.
Did she just said the emperor name… like that? No honorifics? No nothing?
"You know lord Belos?"
Luz and amity where both seated in Amity's bed, Luz clearly didn't have any experience with small talk around other kids so she was a little bit nervous, moving her legs while looking at her knees while answered Amity's questions
"Well yeah, I live in the castle, that part wasn't a lie… he picked me up when I appeared out of nowhere in the castle, or so he says… I always think that he never told me the entire truth, but that is how he is"
"I see…"
Even if Luz was now speaking with the truth the way she talks about the castle, the emperor, everything… it was more unrealistic. Everyone in the isles knows Lord Belos, and everyone dreams to be part of his coven, so when Luz talked about the castle like it was just an old building it kind of took away the mysticism.
"Uhm… and Luz why… why are you here? I mean why did you came to my birthday?..."Not that I'm implying that I don't like your company… it's just… I don't understand"
"well… this wasn't planed at first… I kinda… (Luz remembered how angry was Lara with her at the start of this adventure) never mind… the thing is… uhm I don't know how to say this"
Amity lowered her head a little so she could look Luz in the eye, or at least try to make a little eye contact
"Just say it… if today has teach me anything is that being straight with yourself is the best thing you could do."
"Well… I wanted a friend."
"A friend?"
"I'm all alone in the castle, I mean… no, I have the guards, Lilith, Lara… everyone but… I don't have anyone of my age there… and the emperor forbids me to go to school"
"Really? Then how do you learn magic… oh sorry!."
Amity didn't know if this was a sensible topic for Luz, she didn't want to be rude to her "guest."
"Why? I can do magic! But… my way is not even close to the way you probably do it, let me show you, you have a piece of paper and a pen with you?
"Oh, yeah sure"
Amity grabbed her purse from the now cracked wall of her room, she felt terrible by looking at the consequences of her uncontrolled emotions…
No, that was not true, she felt terrible because she unleashed her fury against a group of people that didn't deserve it… her brothers… and Luz.
"Here… "
Luz knew that Amity just got hit by some pretty heavy stuff, even as a child, she knew that what her mother did to her was something that no one deserved
"This will sheer you up, this was the first spell I learned."
Luz took the piece of paper and the pencil that Amity had handed to her.
Carefully but quickly she drew some… glyph? runes? Amity wasn't sure about what was about to happen, but something about Luz dedication to this "craft" was captivating. Like when you saw something draw a picture, the way they pick up the pencil, the way they look at the withe canvas, all of that was in Luz´s eyes at this moment.
When Luz finished the glyph she looked to Amity.
"Now please close your eyes, my lady" said Luz with the tone of one of that ambulant merchant that Lilith always comment on dinners.
"You're not going to do something bad to me aren't you?"
Amity was half joking half actually worried, what if she wanted revenge for the abomination fiasco?
"Of course, not Amity. Now please play along you're gonna like it… I think"
That wasn't very reassuring.
but I don't feel any hostility coming from Luz so I will complay.
Luz close her eyes… She began to imagine a bouquet of flowers, the colors, the aroma, the scent… the texture.
Then she taped the piece of paper gently, as soon as her skin touched the piece of paper, the paper emitted a green light. Then the paper started changing texture and tiny branches started to form from the center of the glyph. The next second some flowers of various colors appeared in Luz´s hands.
When the spell ended Luz admired her work and tapped Amity's forehead with her finger
"You can open your eyes!"
Amity opened her eyes just to see and smell a beautiful bouquet of flowers in front of hers… it was beautiful but… flowers… plants…Willow.
"You know… I haven't been completely honest with you in one thing… There was something that Belos told me about my arrival…My mom… My real mom came to the isles with me, but she was … dead when Belos found her… every year since I can remember Lilith and Lara help me carry flowers to her grave… I don't remember anything about her but… I think is nice…"
Luz focused for a moment on the sight of her mothers grave, then she snaped.
"Uhm so… what I'm trying to say is this is the prettiest flowers that I can create… and…and I think you deserve something pretty today… happy birthday!"
Amity started crying.
"Oh no sorry! I shouldn't have brought that thing about my mother! Sorry! Sorry! Eh… I… let me…"
Luz was panicking.
Why?
"Is not… The flowers are wonderful… Thank you Luz… really… is just… my friend… the one from the letter, Willow… she… she really likes plants… and… and now… and now I'm never going to see her again!"
"Why?"
"What!?... the letter!... you saw… she must hate me now!"
"Uhm maybe, I don't think so, but even if that is the case… you just have to tell her the truth, you know… that you didn't write it?"
Luz made a gesture like saying but of course.

Luz was know sure that Odalia was the worst Witch one the Isles, she hated her.

"Lie?!"
"Yes, lie!" Luz exaggerated the last part imitating the surprise of Amity.
"Hey, is not that easy for me…"
"No? so, you're gonna tell me that Amity Blight, top student, Azura enjoyer, prett…" watch yourself Luz "Uh… can't do such an easy thing as lying ?"
"No!... I… I mean, I technically can but… what if she finds out?"
"And who is going to tell her? Not me girl"

"Absolutely"
Amity looked at the flowers once more… reminding willow, her friend…
Yeah, Luz is right… I have to fight for what I care… I don't have the right to call myself her friend if I don't at least try.
"Thank you, Luz,… for everything"
"And people say that humans can't do magic."
They both laughed this time.
"Oh, I never told you."
Luz was now more comfortable with Amity, she was now finally looking her at her eyes.
"What Luz?"
"Why did I came to your birthday, I never finished telling you that"
"Oh…"
"well. since I… I needed I friend… Lilith, Lara and the emperor thought that it might be a good idea to… to have someone came to the castle… and… you know… play with… me… ivetalkingfortoolong"
Now that she was saying this out loud Luz knew that she sounded like… like and horrible egoistic person.
Amity laughed really hard this time.
"You're telling me that the emperor coven devised a mission just to get you a friend?"
"If you put it like that… yes?"
"And why me?"
"Well… Lilith recommended you… and…"
This was the hard part.
"And your fathers thought that you were going to enlist earlier in the emperor covens… so… "
Please don't hate me.
"I get it… it was a chance for my mom to be proud of me for once…"
"No… I mean… I don't know but… Amity… I really like your company… I… I would really love if you … if you accepted me."
"Is not as if I have I choice, they are basically forcing me upon this."
Amity looked away from Luz.
Luz was destroyed…
Well, if you think about it this was just extortion… and something selfish… Hey please can you leave you life behind and be my friend please? stupid Luz…
"… Or at least that is would had say if I didn't knew you first…"
Amity looked at her hands reminding a warm sensation.
Luz… you are… you are a good person… I think" Amity chuckled at this point because Luz was giving her the biggest puppy eyes that she had seen "And… and right now I think I need some time off the house."
Luz was so happy that she launched upon amity and gave her the tightest hug of her life.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!"
At the end of the day Amity Blight was surprised of a lot of things… her mother… her twins … a human… but she would never have imagined that the thing that would surprise her the most was finding herself blushing a tiny little bit upon close contact with this same human.
