The song for this story is called Sunrise, Sunset from Fiddler on the Roof. It is a beautiful song and the musical is amazing. Please listen to it.

Katniss and Peeta always have different lives. But no matter the obstacle, they always meet. In some stories, they fall in love. In others, they just catch a glimpse of each other. Maybe they're not human. They might even hate each other in some lives. But they always meet. Always.

Their first life was very tough. They were born into a universe of horrors in a country called Panem. That story has been told already though. They have many lives together, even if they don't know it yet.

The life I remember best other than life one is life twelve (D12- go figure). It was in a universe really far away...

Katniss

Katniss was a normal girl living a normal life sitting on a normal willow tree singing a song her father taught her. Until that damned bird came by. Again. (She would have shot it foreverago if she had her bow)

The bird circled around the big willow and landed on the branch next to her. Katniss scrambled down the tree in hopes of not having her hair pulled out again. Unfortunately, the odds of that not happening was not in her favor. Just as she jumped down to the ground, the bird's long beak clamped onto a clump of her hair. She stifled a screech of agony and let the bird pull her. It did this every. Single. Day. For as long as she could remember.

The bird dragged her down to the ground, let go, and landed adjacent to where she was seated, cross-legged. Katniss was done rebelling. She had enough. So instead of running like usual, today she sat down and decided to see what the bird wanted to show her.

Katniss watched the bird carefully as it seated itself in front of her. After several moments, it slowly began to increase in size and transform from bird to human.

She jumped up and backed away. It changed back to a bird.

Seeing it was probably harmless, Katniss slowly crept up and sat back down on her knees.

She could tell the bird was male right away with long muscular arms with golden blonde hair. He had the most striking blue eyes she had ever seen.

"Who... Who are you?" She asked.

"You called me," The stranger said.

"What do you mean? I didn't- I didn't do anything." She insisted.

"Yes, you did. With Mockingjay song." He responded.

"What's a Mockingjay?" Katniss asked, oblivious.

"I am a Mockingjay."

"My father taught me that song!"

He nodded. "I knew him. We were friends,"

"He didn't say anything about a bird, especially not a human one... how did that even happen anyway? I've seen hallucination magic before but none like that." She said.

"It's not magic. It's a curse." He mumbled, picking at the grass.

"Who would do that to you?" She asked.

"You would be surprised how many people dislike me. Being a bird most of the time is hard. I guess that's why she chose to turn me into one." He smiled, though there was no humor in it.

She took him home with her that day.

Primrose was at sleepaway camp for a week and their mother was gone. From that reality. Katniss saw this as an opening.

"Do you want anything to eat?" She asked, trying to be polite. "I have bread,"

"Oh, no bread for me, please. I won't eat,"

Their first day together was beyond awkward, but the next was better.

When she returned from hunting and the hob the next day, she found him fast asleep in bird form on her bed. When she walked in on him, he transformed instantaneously and sat up.

He started going through apologies. "Um, I'm- I'm s-sorry I didn't-"

"No, no it's alright. I can sleep on the couch." Even Katniss herself noticed how nice she was being to the bird-human stranger. She was getting used to him.

The day after that, she decided to take him hunting with her. He knew the cycle of game better than Katniss. She supposes that's because he is game.

He helped her get chickens. "No birds," he had said. "They're my kind."

Even after four days of begging, asking, and pleading, he wouldn't tell her his name.

But then something strange happened. When he came to the hob with her, he was nonexistent. To everyone.

When she introduced him to Ripper, she thought Katniss had gone mad. "There is no one there, hon." She explained. Katniss was very confused. The boy told her that he would tell her later. Katniss obliged. (He never told her)

Katniss wanted to take a walk with the boy on the fifth day. She asked him questions about himself. Favorite color, favorite animal, favorite movie. He would answer all of them, but his name was still a mystery. It frustrated her more than she would like to admit. She learned much about him, as he did her. He intrigued Katniss. Differently than anyone else.

When they got home, Katniss showed him some music. He put on a slow dancing some. She took both his hands, warm in hers, and put one to her waist whilst she lifted her own hand to his shoulder. They were so close, she could actually smell him. His scent was cinnamon. His hot breath was on her cheek, and for a moment, she thought he would kiss her. She stared deeply into his eyes, and they flickered down to her lips and back, unlike her eyes, which were locked on his. She seized the moment, but in one whirl, the boy let go of her and stopped the music.

"I need to uh, sleep. I'm pretty tired."

And like that, her small itty bitty flame. A flicker of hope died.

On the sixth day, it rained. It rained so hard it felt like a metal sphere hit you. Katniss and the boy looked at the rain from inside the house. Just watching every drop fall to the ground making a loud plop.

Later, they played a board game. Which turned into two. Which turned into ten. They played games all the time and 85% of the time, the boy won. They laughed aloud, both having a fun time.

They were currently playing chess, and he had just won. Katniss was complaining whilst he was doing a so-called "Victory dance". They both cracked up, and when they calmed down, the boy eyed her suspiciously. He pounced and tickled her in her weak spots. She had fallen backward on the hardwood floors and was howling with laughter. He was laughing too. And suddenly, he stopped. He was on top of her, so close to her face, it felt like yesterday again. Then, he captured her lips. It ended right as she felt it his lips on hers. It was too quick. Katniss wanted more. He knelt his face next to hers on the ground.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have-" Katniss held a finger to his mouth to silence him.

"Stop."

She kissed him again.

And again.

And again.

Soon they flipped, and she was straddling him on the ground, her on top of him making the kiss from The Princess Bride look weak.

He tasted like cinnamon and spice and everything warm. His hand brushed through her hair, and he suggested they take this to the bed. She didn't care unless she was with him.

They made it so close. The doorframe to the bedroom, their lips never removing from each other. He gathered her thigh in his hand and hooked it around his hip. She hissed in response. (It took a while, but they finally made it to the bed)

"Peeta," He said, in the morning. "My name is Peeta."
