Author's notes:
2021-11-07: Hey, here's a short preview of the upcoming chapter of the story. I want you to know what I'm currently working on.
2021-11-10: Hey, the chapter is finished and ready to be released as a whole. Though it is not as long as I would love it to be, I like it. However, it is not up to me to rate the chapter. So, tell me what do you think.
Don't forget to comment. I really appreciate your feedback.
Note that the dialogues written in italic are thoughts.
As always, I would like to thank you for everything. See you soon :)
Changelog:
[2021-11-07]: A preview was released.
[2021-11-10]: A chapter was released fully.
Info: I will be trying to focus on finishing some of the stories, rewriting some parts.
Info: I have decided to put 'The war call' into its own separate story. There, I will be slowly rewriting it and adjusting. However, it will take me some time to do so.
Info: Overall, the current plan is for me to write 'My home is where my heart lies' and 'Family tree' alternatively. Between the updates of these stories, I will try to upload other texts. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to finish some of the short stories. However, I truly doubt that. It seems that most if not all of the stories will be extended both in terms of the time and the number of chapters.
Schedule for the nearest future:
1. My home is where my heart lies.
2. Family tree.
3. The rise of the Blood Moons' servants.
4. Fully original story.
5. Story of one lost soul.
6. Will you look past my mistakes?
7. Last Christmas.
Bonuses' section:
A new story taking place in the Warhammer 40k universe.
A story regarding KaiKali (aka Akali x Kai'sa) (Will you look past my mistakes?).
Sometimes it's just better not to know (possibly rewrite).
Kiss the rain (more than likely rewrite).
Whispers in the Dark (extending beyond 2 chapters story).
Story of one lost soul (translation of 2 of my old texts - previously written in polish).
Story of one lost soul: The war call: rewrite.

*bonuses will be worked on when I don't feel like writing the chapters pointed out in the schedule :D
** It is possible for me to change the schedule a little. So stay tuned for the upcoming information.
End of author's notes.
Time, an intriguing concept that sometimes seems to be difficult or even impossible to grasp. One could argue that its meaning is strongly connected with the perspective that we are trying to understand. If it was not the case, how could one explain why the happiest moments of our lives are just fleeting frames, quickly vanishing inside the depths of our minds? On the other hand, it would not be abnormal to state that the stressful encounters could last – at least in our heads – nearly forever. The saddest part regarding such moments is that – in most cases – their lifespan is very short in reality.
The current situation Evelynn found herself in was not very different from the mentioned divergence. With her sight still veiled behind the blindfold, she was left with little to no other option than to think intensively. It was oh-so-easy to see the world in the blackest colours. Without access to her main sense, the diva felt lost in the darkness before her. The only source of light and hope seemed to be a familiar warmth emitting from her darling's hand. Throughout the flight, the siren kept her hold over Akali's hand firm and steady. As if she was afraid the ninja would let her go, vanishing into thin air.
The whole concept of time could be as well damned for Evelynn. She could not relax enough to even approximately estimate how long they had been flying. Instead, all she could think about were her doubts, insecurities, and deepest fears.
"We will be landing soon," Akali's calm voice reached the magenta-haired woman's ear as if from a distance. "After that, we should be able to proceed much faster, so soonish you will be able to discard the blindfold," she informed the singer. "How are you doing? I know… it can be a bit overwhelming. So, talk to me."
"I… I… am doing… fine," Eve mumbled the very first thought that crossed her mind. "You have nothing to worry about, darling," she tried to assure the younger woman.
"You are awfully stressed, Evelynn," Rogue responded, sighing heavily. "You do not need to pretend as if you are made out of stone. I understand that you are potentially painting the current situation in the blackest colours. So, please, just talk to me. I will not yell at you. Quite the opposite, I am here to support you," she continued speaking tenderly.
"I… thank you," the diva replied simply. "I'd really want to say – I'm fine – but, I'm really not," she added, lowering her head as if ashamed of what she had spoken.
"That is more than understandable," the burgundy-haired soldier whispered softly right into Eve's ear. "I will be there right next to you, all the time. You can count on that," she added confidently. "Come here, sit on my laps, and embrace me," Akali said cooly. "It might help you relax a bit."
"I don't know," the hesitant siren responded immediately. "How many people are there excluding us?" she asked.
"Only the pilots," Rogue provided a swift answer. "However, both of them are in the cockpit of the helicopter."
"It's fine then," the magenta-haired woman whispered back.
Maybe a moment later, she could feel Akali's other hand gently touching her arm. Then, a subtle change in her lover's posture gave her a hint of what she was planning. The same hand that a mere moment before was placed upon her arm moved under her legs. Then, pretty much effortlessly, Evelynn was lifted slightly into the air. Finally, she was situated on her girlfriend's lap. And… on top of that, she was being pressed against her defined frame. The pleasurable and familiar warmth emitting from the burgundy-haired woman was lovely. If she had been asked – right here, right now – what would she have needed to be happy, Evelynn would have replied simply – nothing more than she had currently.
It could be considered ridiculous that such a simple thing as being wrapped with her significant one's arms made her happy. Still, frankly, it was not the only benefit of the soldier's action. The worst-case scenarios had been pushed into the deepest parts of her consciousness. As a result, the daydreaming was postponed for the time being.
With a broad smile playing on her full, plump lips, the magenta-haired woman closed her eyes, enjoying Akali's warmth and company.
Soon enough, she allowed herself to relax. And… as a result of it, she quickly fell asleep.
After some time, the sounds related to the helicopter's landing stirred her out of her dreamless sleep. Then, as slowly as possible, the singer opened her eyes, only to be faced with the endless darkness. It was so easy to forget about the blindfold that she had still wrapped around her head. Evelynn felt immediately discouraged. After all, what was the point of being awakened whilst not able to see a thing? On top of that, she did not want to wake up cause it inevitably would mean parting the physical connection with her darling. And… it did not require a genius to spot the unwillingness of Eve to do so.
"Wake up, sleepyhead," Akali whispered right into the magenta-haired woman's ear. "As soon as we land, we will be led to one of the many meeting rooms. Some of the higher-ups want to ask you a couple of questions. Though you do not need to worry about it, I will be right beside you all the time," she continued whispering with a small smile playing on her lips.
"Will you meet your father?" Evelynn asked. "You were so moved and happy when you had heard that he's alive," she added.
"Yeah, I would most definitively want to meet him, see how he is faring," Rogue replied immediately. "However, you are my top priority. Once the meeting with the higher-ups ends, we can go see him. I am not going to lie; I will most certainly act as a small girl once we get there. I am going to hug him with all my might, possibly tear up a little, maybe even more than a little. I am so happy, relieved that he survived, and he is going to live," she added, already tearing up.
"You must love him quite a love, darling," the diva stated. "I won't mind seeing you acting like a small baby. After all, it won't change my feelings for you, my loveable dork," she added, chuckling a little. "It might be a really wholesome reunion."
"Yes, it might be," the soldier agreed without a moment of hesitation. "However, I do think my father will focus more on you than me. After all, you are the woman who stole his little girl's heart," Akali opted to play Eve's usual game. She filled her tone with chuckling, teasing, and a bit of mockery. If one asked her, a perfect mix to beat the magenta-haired siren most of the time.
"Should I try to find someplace to hide beforehand?" the diva asked even though she did not think that Akali was all that serious.
"Well… in that matter," the burgundy-haired soldier started. "I do not think you would be able to find a safe place out of my father's reach if he was after you," she finished after a moment of hesitation. "He is scarily good in what he does. I must have already mentioned to you about that," a small giggle was allowed to sound.
"If he's a better hunter than you, I'll have to watch my back more carefully," Evelynn joked. "Well… should I know something before meeting your father?" she asked. A hint of uncertainty could be heard in her voice. It seemed that seed of doubt was successfully planted in the usually overconfident diva.
"Do not be ridiculous," Akali burst into laughter. "My father might ask you some uncomfortable questions. However, he will not go hunt you down just because you were dating me, and soon you will be my wife. Yeah, I might be the apple of his eye, but he is more than a reasonable man. After all, he will not do anything to upset me," she explained in detail.
"I hope you're right, Kali," Evelynn responded, her tone turned serious.
"I know him better than most people," the burgundy-haired commando trooper responded. "You will be fine."
A moment later, the final thud of the landing phase sounded. They had officially arrived in the KSK base.
"Do you want me to piggyback you?" the soldier asked. "It will be easier to lead you to the meeting room. But, sadly, your blindfold will not be removed till we arrive there. So, I can lead you, holding your hand, or I can piggyback you. The choice is yours to take," she informed Evelynn.
"In most cases, I'd prefer you to guide me by hand," the siren started, inching closer. "However, considering the current situation, I'll allow you to piggyback me. Even though I'll most likely burn myself out of pure embarrassment. Look, it's still a better option than walking clumsily," she added, redding slightly all over her beautiful face.
"You are even more beautiful when you are blushing, Eve," Akali decided to play her trump card. She whispered these words tenderly into the siren's ear.
The burgundy-haired ninja did not need to wait for the effect of her doings too long. The soft shade of red that just a moment ago had been painting the diva's face was gone. Its place had been taken by the intensive colour of the ripe tomato. Within seconds, the conflicted magenta-haired woman began hitting Akali's shoulder. Though it must have been noted, these punches were not meant to harm the soldier. Instead, they were a manifestation of the diva's embarrassment and conflicted state of her mind.
"I hate you," Eve hissed through her clenched teeth.
"I love you too, my loveable dork," Akali replied instantly, giggling all the time.
