Author's notes:
2021-08-31: Hey, it took a little longer than anticipated, but it's finally there. Tell me what do you think. I thought that maybe a little bit of fluff will not be that bad from time to time. Of course, it would not be me if I didn't add something heavier in the middle. On the side note, I have adjusted the previously posted preview, rewritten some parts of it, adding some, removing some.
As always, I would like to thank you for everything. See you soon :)

End of author's notes.
The small puppy was gently put down onto the floor by the ninja. Then, she reached out for her case, pulling it toward herself effortlessly. Even though the case had small wheels attached to it, Rogue opted to carry it. After a moment of thinking, she came to the conclusion that it was so in Akali's style. Then, she smiled broadly when she spotted the puppy moving clumsily around the raper's feet. This sight was so adorable in Kai'sa's mind.
"She grew so much," Kai'sa admitted silently to herself. The raven-haired dancer picked up the food as she had been asked, but her gaze never had been averted off the raper.
Frankly, Akali changed more than slightly. The younger woman looked much healthier; she must have put on some weight. However, Kai'sa was more than certain that the additional weight would be coming from her friend's defined muscles.
Unintentionally, the dreamer's gaze lowered, ending up fixed on Rogue's rack. If she had been asked how she had managed to hold off blushing, she would have not been able to answer the question. Nearly immediately, the lead dancer felt the heat coming up toward her face.
"Damn it!" she allowed herself to complain in her mind. "She must've put a considerable amount of time into her legs and glutes training. Her previously small but firm butt was transformed into a defined peachy booty," she allowed her train of thoughts to continue. But, as a result of it, Kai'sa became more and more embarrassed with herself.
The raven-haired lead dancer must have admitted that it was so wonderful to have Akali back. Of course, she admitted so only to herself, but the point still stood. Even though the feeling was overall positive, she would have to get used to it once again. Cause, currently, it felt surprisingly weird to some extent. After all, several months already passed since she had left. Truth be told, the dreamer could not find proper words to describe that feeling.
With a silent sigh, she opted to return to reality. So, she followed her friend.
"So, what did you buy?" the 'dreamer' tried to start some sort of a conversation. "Currently, the only thing I can talk for sure is that that food is really hot. The heat is penetrating this bag effortlessly."
"Oh, nothing fancy, I can assure you about that," Akali replied immediately, picking up the dog from the floor. "I took one bow of spicy Vietnamese chicken soup, one bowl of milder variant, two portions of sweet and sour chicken. Ah… besides these, I bought some extra veggies. You know, cucumber, paprika, stuff like that," the raper provided a detailed response.
"I must say, I'm impressed," Kai'sa replied, flashing a small smile of satisfaction. "What happened with your oh-so-beloved spicy ramen?" she asked.
"You know…," the youngest band member started, scratching her nape. "I still like it, but I can not live solely on it. So, throughout the past year, I tried to experiment with other kinds of food. Can not say that I have managed to get rid of ramen from my life. But, hey, it is at least a progress," she added, smiling a little.
In the meantime, the puppy was once again picked up by the blond-haired rapper.
"I'm so proud of you, Akali," the 'dreamer' exclaimed happily. "I haven't expected you to change your dining habits, but, as I can see, I was mistaken. I'd give a bear hug if not for our adorable little friend resting in your arms," she added.
The raper burst into laughter immediately after hearing that.
"I told you, he likes to be in the very centre of everyone's attention," Akali giggled, rubbing the dog. "I mean… if you want to share a hug, let's do it. Our little friend might be able to be taken out of the spotlights for a couple of moments," she added.
"Maybe in a few," Kai'sa replied, coming closer. "He looks so happy."
The happy puppy looked around, barking a couple of times. It was evident that he loved every second of the current situation he was in.
"Have you bought something for him as well? I mean food," the leading dancer of the group asked as soon as the realisation came upon her.
"Yeah, I have some treats for him packed inside my case. Besides that, I bought a whole bag of puppy food," Rogue cooly uttered. "I should have everything for him. Or… at least, for tonight. Tomorrow, I will go buy some toys for him. Possibly alongside other stuff needed to take good care of him."
"You've changed so much; it's hard to believe, really; I'm so proud of your growth, Akali," the raven-haired dancer stated.
"Oh, please, do not call it that way," Akali pleaded, a frown formed on her beautiful face. "You sound like a mother I did not have. Do not take it wrongly, though. Of course, I appreciate your comment, but, on the other hand, I am sad that my own mother never approached me like that," she added after a quick pause.
"I… I… I didn't know. Sorry," Kai'sa replied, lowering her gaze slightly.
"It is ok. Only Eve knew about that," Rogue confessed quietly.
"But… why didn't you tell us about that? Of course, if you don't mind answering," the slightly confused lead dancer asked.
"You had your own problems," Akali replied with a nonchalant shrug. "I concluded that it was a problem that I needed to take care of. Besides, what should I tell you? That my mother treated me like a speck of dirt, or even worse? Or… that I was raised in a dojo run by two of my uncles, Shen and Kennen? I would not have been able to find proper words to express it. Quite frankly, Evelynn only knows that my mother left me when I was really young, maybe 2, maybe 3 years old. That is pretty much all she knows," the raper provided an extensive response.
"I'm sorry; I really am," the dancer whispered. "Can I help somehow?" she asked, her eyes grew softer, wider.
"It is just a past; no need to worry about it, currently," the blonde responded, shrugging it off. "Come, let's eat when it is still warm," she proposed.
"Yes, yes… it's a good idea," the dreamer murmured quietly. "How much she's come through?" she asked deep inside her mind.
"Oh! Stop overthinking things, Kai," Rogue exclaimed, flashing a warm smile. Then, she reached out toward the dancer's right hand, pulling her closer into a sort of embrace. "Like I said, it says in the past. For now, all that matters is that we are here, together," she whispered softly, trying to reassure her friend.
"You're right. My overthinking won't change a thing," the raven-haired dancer sighed heavily, returning the hug. "Let's eat. Maybe… if you're not that tired, we could do a movie night?"
"Sounds good to me," the ninja smiled broadly. "Let's watch some scary-ass horror!" she exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Kali, please, you know how I don't like watching horrors," the lead dancer whined a little, pouting.
"Did you just pout?" Akali asked, giggling. "You looked so cute whilst pouting. Come on, do it again."
"No way," Kai'sa refused, backing off and turning around with her arms folded across her chest.
The puppy whines could be heard a couple of moments later. The raper must have put the dog onto the floor, apparently. Before the raven-haired dancer could react, a pair of strong, warm arms enveloped around her waist, pulling her backwards.
"You are so adorable when you are mad, scary, confused," Rogue whispered quietly. "Do not worry, though; I will be right next to you," she promised, still giggling a little. "So, the deal is up? We are watching a horror movie, but you can cling to me at any given moment? Hmmm?"
"Fine, fine, fine," the dreamer sighed heavily, giving up. "But, be warned, it's highly possible for me to wrap myself around you in case of any scary scene."
"Deal!" the blonde-haired woman cheerfully stated. "So, we eat, then the movie night!"
"Yeah, we're eating, then we'll be watching the movie of your choice," Kai'sa agreed.
With no more words needed to be spoken, they proceeded toward the still-packed food. The blonde-haired woman decided to play the role of the host, unpacking it finally, distributing what was previously purchased. Two plastic bowls were located at the very top of the bag. The silver foil kept the dish absurdly warm; one could say hot. To mitigate the temperature, the ninja kept the contact as short as possible. Still, she hissed whilst putting down the bowl.
"Damn, it is too hot," she complained loudly.
Kai'sa responded with just a giggle. There was no need for any additional words. Even though Akali was gone for several months, she seemed to remember the kitchen's plan quite well. Without asking a single question, she reached out for two small plates that she put under the plastic containers. Then, she prepared forks and spoons for them to eat comfortably.
"Can you take these to the living room?" Akali asked. "We can start watching whilst eating. After all, most of the horror movies start slowly; so, you will have quite some time before you will need me as a big plushy," she allowed herself to joke. "Besides, we might have to let the soups cool down a little. If the foil was that warm, I do not want to test how hot is the soup itself."
"You're still a dork, Kali," the dreamer chuckled. "But, it's understandable. Let's start with the main course."
"You read my mind, bro," Rogue replied, sticking her tongue a little. "Now go, take the soups to the table. I will be there in a moment with the rest of our late dinner," she added.
"Fine, as you wish, dork," the dancer responded, continuing to giggle.
"I am not just a dork; I am your dork, KDA's dork," the ninja proudly uttered, taking her friend by surprise.
"Yeah, Eve was right when she told us that you're quite unique with your wording," Kai'sa sighed heavily.
"Come on, you were supposed to take these soups to the living room like 2 minutes ago. Are you ageing that fat, Kai?"
"What did you say, little shit?" the dreamer opted to play along. "You think you're smartass, right? Plot twist, you're not. You're dork, Kali."
"Eat me," Akali replied, sticking her tongue fully. "Or you are too afraid to do so?" she mocked.
"I'll be in the living room," the raven-haired dancer managed to mumbled before picking up the plates and turning around.
As soon as she did so, she blushed hard. Even though she was pretty positive Akali was just joking, the idea was planted deep inside her mind. And… currently, the sometimes clueless dreamer must have to deal with. So frankly, it would be a quite welcomed invitation if it was to happen in the very first place.
It must have been some kind of a miracle that she got into the living room with both soups intact. The raven-haired lead dancer could hardly remember the last time she had run that fast. It was so not in her style to act recklessly. After all, she had earned the title of 'KDA mum' for a good reason. Kai'sa must have admitted that she got confused by the events that had unfolded in a span of just a couple of minutes. She must regain her composure; otherwise, the movie night might have been the worst possible idea to proceed with currently.
Just a moment later, she started to hear rapid footsteps or rather paw-steps mixed with quiet barking. The german shepherd puppy apparently decided to follow her, but he could not catch her in time. The adorable fluffy ball of fur appeared in her sight maybe a second later or so. It was evident that the dog noticed her as well cause he ran straight toward her, happily. It did not take him long to reach her. As soon as he did so, he started to swirl around her, trying to climb higher. A couple of moments were all it took for the puppy to realise that he was too little to proceed with the plan of his own. So, he sat down, lifted his little head, establishing eye contact with the dancer, and started to whine softly.
As you might already expect, it worked oh-so-well on Kai'sa. Of course, the plates were put down immediately. After all, she would need her hands free to take care of her little new friend, would she not? The dreamer sat down comfortably on their big soft sofa, allowing a moan-like sound to escape her throat. Then, she picked up the adorable puppy, putting him on her lap.
"Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?" the raven-haired dancer started to speak childishly to the puppy.
"Yes, you're a good boy; no, you're the best boy in the house," Kai'sa continued praising the dog when he started to bark happily.
"Oh," Akali gasped. "So… here is my little runaway. I hope he did not bother you too much?" she added, closing in.
"No," the dancer replied immediately. "He's way too adorable to be of nuisance to me," she exclaimed.
"Good to hear, actually," Rogue responded, putting down the rest of their meals, then sitting down next to her friend. "Do you want to eat, or we should play with him a little longer?"
"I guess it's not a choice we're in control of making," the dreamer chuckled. "Let's play with him. I bet he'll soon wear off."
"Maybe… just maybe," the ninja uttered cooly with a broad smile playing on her beautiful face.
"It's going to be a wonderful night; I'm sure of it," Kai'sa stated in her mind.
