This is a three part short story series inspired by one of my favorite segments from American Dad. Have fun with that folks, as always R

In one of Beacon Academy's dorm room's sat the members of Team BLAZ consisting of Silver Black, Lianna Ren, Nero Arc, and Zephyr Winchester going over personal family history reports about their parent's generation. Though one member in particular was having a hard time with the assignment.

"I'm gonna fail this assignment because my dad won't open up." Silver groaned as he sat back on Lianna's bed.

"Look Silver, a lot of people don't feel comfortable saying these things face to face." Nero told his partner before sitting back on his scroll.

"Maybe try calling your dad." Lianna offered.

Silver shrugged as he pulled out his scroll. "I guess it's worth a shot." He pressed Mercury's contact on the screen.

Mercury was busy eating lo mein with chopsticks at a Mistralian buffet when he answered his scroll. "Hello?"

"Hey dad, whatcha up to?" Silver asked

"Eating lunch, I just needed a break from work at Signal you know. Lately I've been thinking a lot about the people I've had to kill." Mercury said after putting his chopsticks down.

Nero, and Silver both looked shocked while Lianna, and Zephyr kept writing until they realized what Mercury had said.

Mercury continued on unaware he was traumatizing the teenagers. "God, the first five to ten times you take a life it's eerie. You can remember every detail. I can see all their faces, one had a beard." Zephyr tried to keep an undisturbed look on her face while Mercury continued on.

"Each time I pulled the trigger I tied a knot in my memory that no amount of whiskey could loosen…" By this point Zephyr looked completely freaked out as she backed away from the scroll.

"Of course eventually by the time I was your age I stopped caring." The change in his tone from ominous, and reflectful to a casual nonchalant cadence. That to all four had been the most disturbing.

"Now I can put a bullet in a man's head while figuring out how much Schnee FC to pick up on my way home. It's usually no more than a bucket." Mercury shrugged.

"The sick part was I started to love it." Lianna stares into empty space with a blank expression that still conveyed how shocked she was by what she was hearing.

"Snuffing out lives. I craved it." Nero just had a shocked face throughout the whole ordeal before he looked over to Silver.

"I felt like an angel of death, the messenger of eternal darkness." Silver looked horrified by what he was hearing before he looked to Nero then to Zephyr. Zephyr was half under Lianna's bed shaking in fear.

"A merciless demon with an unquenchable thirst for— Oh they just put more orange chicken in the buffet, gotta run!" Mercury said before hanging up on the traumatized teens.
