This is a three part short story series inspired by one of my favorite segments from American Dad. Have fun with that folks, as always R
At Beacon during the presentations, Zephyr was standing in front of the class talking about her report, and she was pissed. "And that's why my dad didn't go to his dad's funeral, and why I won't go to mine." She crumpled the paper, and threw it to the ground before walking back to her seat.
Professor Hei nodded as he marked down Zephyr's grade for her report, and then looked to Silver. "Silver, you're up."
Silver looked nervous as he rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, uh see my dad wasn't really willing to answer the questions."
Hei scoffed as he glared at Silver. "Sounds like a whole lot of nonsense Silver." He leaned forward continuing to look at the Black Scion, and spoke in a condescending tone. "You know what I think, I think you're just trying to get out of this assignment."
Silver's face dropped into an expression of annoyance, as every scroll call with his dad came to the forefront of his mind. "Oh is that what you think?" Silver stood and started walking to the front of the classroom. "Ok professor Hei, here we go."
Once Silver was at the front of the, he pulled out his scroll and clicked the call symbol on Mercury's icon. After a couple rings Mercury picked up. "Hello?"
"Hey dad, I'm calling from my History of Remnant class. So who was the head of the Vale council when you were a kid?" Silver asked in a bored yet equally annoyed manner.
"Oh I don't know, I guess I think about killing myself pretty frequently." Mercury answered, shocking not only Professor Hei, but the entire class.
"And why not? What's so great about living." He continued on, not caring who he scarred for life with his incoming diatribe. "You know when I'm happy? For about five seconds in the morning when I wake up. Before I remember who I am, and what my life is all about."
The class could only watch on in silenced horror, shock, bewilderment, and morbid intrigue as Mercury continued on. "Anxiety, disappointment, constipation more often than not."
Several jaws hung open, no one could even laugh or feel disgusted by Mercury's admitting to frequent constipation. Professor Hei could only give a hundred yard stare at the sheer horror that brought him a new perspective on life.
Mercury gave a heavy sigh before continuing on. "I don't know if there's an afterlife, but who cares. Nothingness couldn't be any worse than this meaningless march through my empty days." Silver hung up before Mercury could even utter another syllable.
"See Professor Hei." Silver said looking to his professor only to see he wasn't in his chair.
"Professor Hei?" Silver asked before looking to the opposite side of the class at the window to see his professor was standing there.
"He's right, it's pointless…" Professor Hei addressed the class. "Life dismissed." The veteran huntsman said before using his entire aura to break through the quadruple reinforced Grimm proof glass of Beacon's thirteenth story as he jumped out to his death, much to the shock of his students.
"...I think I should get my dad some serious therapy this Father's Day…." Silver muttered in the wake of his shocked friends, and classmates.
