Kaysa and Loki had their look fixed in the other. Loki was still holding Kaysa wrist. She freed herself as she could and started moving around him, walking in circles. Loki did the same. He knew the elf too well to know what was in her mind.
"Don't do it, Kaysa." His voice sounded calmer.
"I'm tired of your fake concern!" She yelled with rage in her voice. "You are always like this, pretending that I mean something for you, that you care for me... But it is all a lie! You just want to be sure that I'll be there for you when you want me to."
"I've already told you. It was just fun." He smirked although his own words were hurting him inside. "Why this nonsense?" Kaysa stopped walking. She could not take it anymore and run to him, her fist ready to punch him. She could not believe what he was saying.
"Do you really want to hurt me like that?" She asked as she threw her fist. Loki was not expecting that and it hit his chin, making his face looked to the opposite side. His hand caressed it as he tried to understand the fact that Kaysa wanted to fight with him. It was when his eyes repaired in the necklace that hanged from Kaysa's neck.
"What are you doing with that?" Loki tried to reach for it, but Kaysa moved and looked at him triumphantly.
"Do you think that I will never get it back?" Kaysa took it in her hand and played with it. "You thought I'll never try to get it. You thought that I'll be waiting for you to give it to me, right?" Loki stood in silence with a worried look.
"There's a reason for why I have kept it away from you. Kaysa, please. Give it to me."
"Oh right, here we go again." Kaysa laughed bitterly. "Come on. Tell me you are doing for me, to keep me safe. That you want to protect me." She mocked, annoying Loki.
"Maybe if you stopped doing this nonsense I wouldn't have to." He answered. He did not understand why she could not see the things that he was doing for her.
"Nonsense?! You call it nonsense to try to save me from you and your family? Is it nonsense to want to take back what was once mine?" Again, she got ready to fight against him, but that time Loki got ready too. He did not want to hurt her so he merely tried to avoid Kaysa's attacks. She was stronger than he remembered. "Of course this is nonsense for you. You did not suffer the loss of anything. You are still a Prince. You still have your throne and, now, a wife."
"Kaysa, please. I need you to stop and trust me." Loki said as he knelt to avoid one of Kaysa's attacks. He was trying with all himself to control the situation.
"No. I won't trust you anymore. You have never understood me. Never!" Loki stopped her holding her fist in his hand. He pushed her lightly against a wall.
"Do you really think so? I've lost my chance to be with you!" He shouted as he pressed her. "I've lost my chance to have a family with you and to be happy for the fucking first time in my life!" He could not control his feelings. "I've been forced to marry a woman that I don't love." His heart beating so fast that he was sure Kaysa could hear it.
"For that, you should have had me first. I was never yours." This time, it was Kaysa who was hurting him. Loki looked at her confused as a feeling of emptiness started to grow in his heart. Her words echoed inside his mind but they were soon silent by something strange. Loki felt like a mere spectator of the situation. He could see his body holding Kaysa tighter and tighter. He wanted to let go, but he could not make any part of his body react. His will was completely overridden by-
"Malekith!" Kaysa called his name as she saw Loki's eyes changing. The voice that called her name was not Loki's. She knew it too well. One of Loki's hands placed on her neck. He rose her up from the floor.
"So long since last time I saw you, my Queen." The voice was so cold that it made Kaysa shivered. "I have to admit that I really miss your body, although this one is stronger than you," Loki smirked but Kaysa knew too well that he was far away at that moment. "However, I can sense that your power is different now." His eyes looked for the necklace. "I see you have managed to get it back. Imagine having both of your powers. Loki's and yours. I could get my kingdom back and the rest of the realms with only the snap of my fingers." Kaysa went pale. "Oh, but there is a way, isn't there?" His hand stopped on her belly.
"No." She whispered. Kaysa was not willing to let anything happen to her baby. "Please!" She tried to run away but his grip was strong. Kaysa knew Loki was somewhere inside his mind. She needed him to get out so she started to call for him.
Loki did not know where he was. He was surrounded by darkness and felt like floating when the voice of Kaysa came to his ears. He tried to look for her and called her name, but she was nowhere there. Loki heard her voice again, this time painfully and without breath. He concentrated on the sound of it and followed. His eyes were opened when a strange light started to glow in the dark. Loki did not think twice and ran to it.
Kaysa was almost without breath when she felt Loki's grip got softer. She met his eyes and they were back to their light green. He was looking at her confused and she knew he was back. Loki took out his hand from her and took a step back. Kaysa fell to her knees as she caressed her neck, trying to relax all the tension.
"What has happened?" He asked. His voice was full of confusion.
"How did he got you?" Kaysa asked from the ground. She could not believe that Malekith was back in her life again. Kaysa wanted to tell him about the danger of the situation, but that would imply that she should tell him about the baby. She was not yet ready to talk about it with Loki.
"He..." Loki did not remember exactly what had happened. He was in a lake. The strange form appeared and he knew he was looking for Kaysa. Loki needed to protect her, and he fought against him. The last thing he remembered of the battle was a dark cloud coming to him. He woke up and thought he had defeated him. "Why did he appear?" Suddenly, a strong headache came to him, making him close his eyes. The image of Kaysa's necklace appeared. Loki understood what Malekith wanted from Kaysa. That necklace was the source of her powers and he wanted those powers. "Your necklace." Loki got mad. He kept that necklace away from her when he understood the power of it. "How did you get it?" Kaysa looked at him from the ground. "Kaysa!" Loki yelled as he knelt in front of her and shook her by her shoulders.
"It wasn't me," Kaysa answered. She was trying to recover herself yet. "Another person gave it to me." She was not going to involve Kaira, but Viggo was different. It was true that he helped her, but it was also true that he hit her a few months ago. Kaysa knew that if he was able to do that to her, he could do the same to her sister. She wanted to free Kaira from her marriage and maybe Loki could do it for her.
"Who?" Loki asked looking intensively at her. Kaysa looked at him before saying the name.
"Viggo."
Kaira was in the main room with Viggo, the King and the Queen. They were placing the tables in the room. Frigga was trying to choose with Kaira the colour of the curtains for the wedding that was to be in one week. She had managed to get some time with the wedding of Loki and Ada. Viggo was choosing the wine with Odín when a pair of soldiers came in. Loki followed them with his raven hair combed back and his green robes. He had a funny expression, but Kaira could see a strange look in his eyes.
"Mother." He greeted Queen Frigga. "Lady Kaira." Loki bowed and finally met his father look. "My King." He said with a bitter tone.
"Is everything okay, my dear?" Queen Frigga asked as she walked to her son, holding his hands. "I thought you were going to sleep till late after yesterday."
"Oh, but I have other duties as a Prince, haven't I?" Loki looked coldly at the King. "I have noticed that something is missing from the treasure chamber." Loki walked in circles. "Maybe some of you know about it." He knew that Viggo would not confess anything about it. However, he had a plan for it. "Some of my servants have noticed someone entering there last night." Kaira looked at Viggo scared.
"Loki, stop this nonsense and get to the point of your interruption," Odin said as he walked to him.
"Alright. I accuse Viggo of being a thief." Silence reigned in the room.
"Do you have any proof for your accusation?" It was Viggo who walked to the Prince with a serious face.
"Of course I have them." Loki smiled as he pointed to the door of the room. A young and scared boy walked in. He looked around and Loki ordered him to walk closer. "Tell them what you have seen." Loki's voice was calmed. The boy told about how he saw Viggo entering the room and taking Kaysa's pendant.
"Do you think that we will believe the word of a young servant?" Viggo laughed. Frigga looked at him.
"Are you saying that the Prince is a liar?" Frigga asked, cutting Viggo's speech.
"No, my Queen!" Viggo excused himself. "But he is believing a simple servant!" Viggo seemed nervous. Kaira did not know how to react to the situation. She could only observe it. "I have never get into the treasure room." Viggo defended himself.
"Why did you take it? To sell it? Because of its rubies?" Loki asked hard. He saw a gleam in Viggo's eyes. Loki's knew he had taken the bait.
"It hasn't got any rubies!" Viggo exclaimed victoriously. "He is lying, my King." Viggo turned to Odin who was watching the whole scene from his seat. He took the necklace for Kaysa, but he knew that Loki was the one that had it in his room. He was the thief, but he could not say it without the part of him taking from Loki's room."As always." He spat those words. Loki had him in under his hands. He could do whatever he wanted to him.
"How do you know it?" Odin asked. Loki looked at him with a smiled and waited for Viggo's answer. "You have never seen it. I made sure to keep it hidden from everyone." Odin did not want anyone to know about the necklace and its powers. It was a powerful weapon after all. Viggo looked at the King in silence with his mouth opened and a pale face.
"Guards," Loki called his soldiers and they took Viggo. Nobody said a word, not even moved from their place. They looked at the scene in silence. Loki's eyes caught Kaira and he could not help but read the relief in her eyes. He ordered his soldiers to take Viggo to the dungeons and walked out of the room bowing to the King and Queen. The young servant waited for him.
"Has it work?" He asked. Loki looked at him and moved his hand through his body. The image of the boy started to disappear and Kaysa's figure appeared.
"What do you think?" He asked as he pointed with his head to Viggo's back. Luckily for them, he had not seen Kaysa. "Thanks for your great performance. We are good partners in crime." Loki laughed. Kaysa looked at him coldly.
"I'm only doing this for my sister." She said as she started to walked away from him.
"Oh, my Queen," Loki whispered in her ear as he took her wrist and stopped her. "Don't tell me you didn't enjoy it." He licked softly Kaysa's ear. She tried to control her emotions. She did not want him to see how much she wanted him. "Being next to me. Working as a couple." Loki turned Kaysa so she was looking at him. His free hand got into her back and he moved her closer to him, pressing his body against her. "Tell me, my Queen. Tell me how much you love to be side by side with me." Loki brushed his lips against Kaysa's. She could not help but closed her eyes as she nodded her head, brushing her lips too against his. "I have things to do," Loki said without moving from her. "Maybe we could meet tonight at my room."
"What about your wife, my Prince?" Kaysa asked. "Are you going to ask her to look at us?" She said sarcastically.
"If it's pleased you, I'll do anything you ask, my Queen," Loki answered with a mischievous smile. "But for tonight, maybe we can be just the two of us. Let me handle Ada." Loki said before kissing Kaysa's cheek and walked down the corridor, following Viggo to the dungeons. Kaysa looked at his back with confronted emotions. One part of her hated herself for being such a fool. She was again in Loki's hands believing every word that he said, thinking that they could manage and have a life together. On the other hand, she loved him with all her heart and she could not help but get her hopes up with everything he did for her.
Loki entered Viggo's cell. He asked for the guards to wait for him outside of the dungeons. The soldier was in front of him, looking at every movement he did. Loki enjoyed it too much. Viggo did not know which one would be his next movement so he had his guard up at everything.
"So." Loki started to talk and left his hand. Viggo moved to the opposite side of the cell. Loki laughed as he created the necklace image in his hand. "You were accusing me to be a liar. In front of my family." Loki walked closer to him when he noticed Viggo relaxing. The image of the necklace disappeared. "How dare you?"
"You know I did not take that necklace from the treasure chamber."
"Of course you didn't," Loki said as he created random things in his hand. "You took it from my chambers."
"Who is the thief then?" Viggo asked with a triumphant look in his eyes. Loki looked at him as his image disappeared from in front of him.
"I'm tired of you accusing me to be a thief. I am Loki, Prince of Asgard, and I can do whatever I please to. If I want to take that necklace, I'm free to do it. But you..." Loki's voice sounded in the whole cell but Viggo could not see him. A second later, he felt a knife against his neck. "You put her in danger, you bastard," Loki murmured against his ear. "Just to have some fun, right? It is not enough for you to make one of them bitter. No. You need both." He hit Viggo in the back, making him fell on his knees.
"I don't know what are you talking about."
"You gave the necklace to Kaysa and now he has found her. Again!" Loki felt as his mind got cloudy. He was losing sight of Viggo knelt in front of him. Range filled his veins. Just thinking about losing Kaysa made him lose control. He punched Viggo with his knee. Loki felt some relief doing it. "I almost lose her once, and I almost lose her again now because of you!" He hit again Viggo's face. This time, he felt back. Loki relieved himself on the soldier until his body stopped moving.
Ada was watching the scene from the stairs. She saw Loki walk down and was curious to know what he needed to do in the dungeons. She had woke up an hour ago alone in her room with a stained sheet next to her. It was the proof that let everyone knows what had happened the other night. She was on her way to tell the Queen about it when Loki distracted her.
She saw as he hit Viggo with all his strength. Ada was not going to stop him. She never felt sympathy for him. As Viggo's movement became fewer, she understood that Loki had killed him. It was when the idea came to Ada's mind. A strange smile grew on her face as she walked upstairs, making sure that Loki did not notice her presence there.
Kaysa was in Loki's room, waiting for him. She did not understand why she was still trusting him, but she wanted to make sure that their plan had worked out. She had been waiting for him for 20 minutes when the door opened and a tired Loki appeared.
"I did not think that you will come here for real." Loki was surprised to see Kaysa there.
"How has it gone?" Kaysa asked as she walked closer to him. She noticed the bloodstains over Loki's face and his clothes. "Loki! Are you okay?" She hurried to hold his hand and check that nothing had happened to him.
"It is not mine." He answered. "But thanks to worry." Loki smiled as he cornered Kaysa against the wall. He could sense her nerves as he moved closer and pressed his body against her. "What if we kept talking about this morning?" He murmured. Kaysa looked away from him, trying to resist the animal instinct that claimed her to give up. "Look at me, my Queen." Loki took Kaysa's chin with his free hand so she was looking right at him. Slowly, he moved his lips closer to hers when the door opened hard. Loki turned angry to meet some soldiers. "What do you think you are doing?" He asked as he tried to hide Kaysa from their sight.
"Prince Loki. By royal order, you are arrested for the murder of the captain of the guard, Viggo." One of the soldiers said as he walked to him. Loki tried to fight against him when another soldier took him from his back. The first one hit in his stomach making him doubled over in pain, but he was not going to give up so easily. He tried to free himself when the second soldier hit his right knee, making him scream for pain.
Kaysa tried to stop them. She needed a reason for that situation but the soldiers ignored her. Kaysa saw as Loki asked her to be safe and not move from his room, promising that he would be back soon. The soldiers took him out of there and close the door, leaving Kaysa alone and confused.
