AN: Hello, everyone! I hope you all are doing well! We're gonna get a little more info about Midoriya's quirk today, as well as some knowledge about Midoriya's life. I know a few of you were wondering if Bakugou and Midoriya were friends, and I give a little insight into the answer for that question in today's chapter. This is a longer chapter than I usually write, so I hope you all enjoy!

Midoriya chuckled to himself in the kitchen as he heard Uraraka cheerfully greet Yagi. He set the cake down on the counter and turned back to the dinner he was making. The teen kept his ears focused on the conversation between his dinner guests. "H-Hello, friends of Young Midoriya! My name is Yagi Toshinori. It's a pleasure to meet you!" Midoriya snickered at how loud the pro hero was being. He could hear the nervousness oozing from his friend.

"It's nice to meet you too, Mr. Yagi! I'm Uraraka Ochako, and this is my friend Shinsou Hitoshi!" Content with the fact that dinner was just about ready, Midoriya grabbed a pitcher of lemonade and brought it out to the table. He could see Uraraka and Shinsou were sitting on one end while Mr. Yagi was sitting at the other end. "Thanks, Midoriya!" Uraraka grinned as she grabbed the pitcher and poured some lemonade for herself. She passed it to Shinsou before smiling at Mr. Yagi. "How'd you meet Midoriya? Did he grant your wish too?"

Yagi turned pale at the question. "Well, -uh, yes! He did! Or I should say he is still granting it." The older man grinned sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I have to wait for some time before the wish can be granted. You said your name is Uraraka?" She nodded, and Yagi hummed thoughtfully. The older man must've recognized it as his eyes widened. "I guess that means you're Midoriya's assistant?"

Shinsou raised a brow at her while Uraraka blinked in surprise. Midoriya had a feeling where this was headed and decided to stay quiet. He poured a glass of lemonade and pushed it over to Yagi before serving himself a glass as well. His older friend quietly thanked him as Uraraka tilted her head curiously. "Yeah, I am! Midoriya offered to let me stay here if I get into UA, and in return, I will be his assistant. Did he tell you about me?"

Yagi absentmindedly nodded. "Yes. I haven't fully paid for my wish as one of the items I needed to give him is at home. And I was invited to visit after I left my home, so I didn't get the chance to bring it with me, but Young Midoriya told me that I could just give it to you since you'll be at UA." Midoriya smirked as both Uraraka and Shinsou perked up in surprise.

"You work at UA? Does that mean you're a pro-hero?" Shinsou butted into the conversation. He tilted his head curiously as he looked over the pro.

Yagi froze as he realized what he had accidentally admitted. UA only employed active or retired pro-heroes as staff. That meant he must be a pro-hero to work there. However, Yagi couldn't admit that he was All Might! He sputtered in horror as he tried to think of an excuse for himself. "I mean-! Well, the thing is-! I guess you could say-!" Uraraka stared at him blankly as he rambled.

Midoriya sighed and took pity on his friend. "Mr. Yagi is not a pro-hero, but he has a lot of knowledge about them. He's the personal assistant of a pro-hero who's about to begin working at UA."

"Yes! Exactly what Young Midoriya said!" Yagi sighed in relief at his friend's quick thinking.

Shinsou narrowed his eyes at Yagi. "What pro-hero? You said they're new to the staff, right? I find it odd that you were hired at UA as an exception."

Yagi looked over at Midoriya, but the kid only smiled at him. He sweat-dropped at the sign that he was on his own for this one. "W-well, I'm not actually supposed to say. Their employment with UA is being kept secret for a reason, you know?"

"Please, Mr. Yagi! We'll keep it a secret, promise!" Uraraka pouted and looked at him with puppy-dog eyes.

The lanky man sighed, rubbing his face with his hands. He would have to learn how to combat puppy-dog eyes. "Alright, Young Uraraka. But, you both must promise to keep this secret, alright?" Shinsou and Uraraka nodded, so Yagi continued. "I'm All Might's personal assistant. He's going to start working at UA this year in the heroics class."

Midoriya couldn't help laughing loudly at his two friends' reactions. Shinsou's eyes had widened in shock. Meanwhile, Uraraka looked like she had been told that she won a lifetime supply of mochi. "Oh my goodness! All Might is going to be teaching at UA? If I get into UA, I'm going to be taught by All Might?" Uraraka started bouncing in her seat due to her excitement.

Mr. Yagi laughed boisterously at her enthusiasm. "I'm happy to see you're so excited, Young Uraraka. I'll be sure to let All Might know the next time I see him." Midoriya heard his kitchen timer ding and silently excused himself as Uraraka and Shinsou started asking Yagi questions. He pulled out the breakfast casserole he made and headed back to the table. At seeing him with the hot dish, Uraraka and Shinsou paused with their questions. They helped him bring in the rest of the food from the kitchen, including salad, bread, and hot soup. Yagi helped himself to the soup with plain bread while everyone else grabbed a little of everything.

"There's dessert, too! Mr. Yagi brought a cake with him!" Midoriya smiled as his friends turned and started thanking the pro hero for his thoughtfulness. The whole group chatted amiably throughout dinner. Midoriya was thankful to see Shinsou opening up more and more to Uraraka and Yagi as the night went on. The teen needed more friends, and he needed to get more comfortable with socializing. It would be helpful for him once he started the hero course.

Eventually, it got pretty late, and the two students had to go home, promising to call when they found out their results. Midoriya hugged Uraraka, then he pulled Shinsou into a tight hug. The purple-haired teen blushed lightly at the show of affection from his friend before they both headed out, leaving only Yagi and Midoriya in the house. The two moved to sit outside on the newly renovated porch with some freshly brewed tea. The night air was a little chilly, but the fire pit staved away the cold. "I'm sorry again about the surprise guests, Mr. Yagi." The older man turned and looked at Midoriya curiously. The teen was smiling apologetically at him. "They were really excited to tell me about how the test went, so they stopped by on their way home. I'm happy that you got to meet them, though! It'll probably make it a little easier for you to have two students that are comfortable with your presence on campus."

Yagi chuckled as he went back to watching the koi fish swimming in the pond. "Please, don't apologize. They are gonna make fine heroes, and it was a pleasure to meet them. I'm happy they were so excited to visit you as well." Midoriya looked at him questioningly. The older man met his gaze with a concerned look. "I worry about you, my boy. I may not have known you for very long, but you are my friend. I know you can get lonely, so I am glad that you will soon have a roommate. Miss Uraraka seems like a good friend."

That made Midoriya sigh sadly as he looked back out into the night sky. "Yeah, she is. It does get lonely here. I'm not used to my clients sticking around for a while or wanting to be friends. It's really nice." He smiled sadly. He'd been alone for a long time. With Uraraka's wish, at least the overwhelming quiet would be broken for a few years. "You don't have to worry about me, though I appreciate knowing you care."

Yagi frowned. He had suspected that Midoriya had been alone for some time but having it confirmed made him worry more about the lad. "Have you made any friends before us?"

"There was one." Midoriya hummed lightly as he watched some fireflies slowly fly by. For a moment, the shopkeeper could almost smell the scent of burnt sugar and smoke. He could still remember the smiles from his childhood friend as they plotted about opening an agency together as heroes. His one friend that he was forced to leave behind because of his quirk. "We were really close growing up, but after my quirk came in, my mom and I had to move for my safety." Midoriya had been so happy to have such a strong quirk as a kid. He smiled bitterly as he thought about those early years. They were filled with so much fun and laughter. Warm hugs and smiles. "My quirk is powerful, Mr. Yagi, but I've lost so much because of it." And he'll continue to lose those he cares about. Quirks were amazing tools that could help or hurt. Midoriya knew that all too well. He had spent years analyzing his quirk, trying to find all of the rules and nuances of it. How it could be used to help so many people, and how that ultimately caused him so much pain. The shopkeeper felt tears start to well up in his eyes. He blinked them away quickly. "Can we talk about something else, please? Our meet-up is supposed to be fun." He chuckled lightly, though it was a bit forced. "I gotta warn you; I'm a bit of a crybaby. I don't think spending time with a crying teenager will be enjoyable."

"Of course, my boy." Yagi hummed thoughtfully as he thought of a new topic. "You know, my coworkers were really curious about you." Midoriya tilted his head curiously at him. "They caught me texting you during the meeting and wanted to know more about you. I accidentally told them about you running a wish shop, and it was like they heard something completely different." The older man chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment. "They said something about you running an online shop and dropped the subject completely."

Midoriya smiled, already hearing the question that Yagi wanted to ask. "My quirk makes people forget things about me if they don't have a wish. They remember things like me being your friend, but any specifics about me are forgotten and replaced either with something similar or a sorta half-truth." The main purpose of that effect was to stop anyone from looking into him if they heard about him. It worked well when it came to protecting him, but it was a double-edged sword. "I actually do have an online store with a pseudo-name, which is how I earn money. I don't charge money for wish-granting, and I can't get a job because people forget about me. If I say or do something unrelated to my quirk, though, people are capable of remembering me."

The pro-hero blinked in surprise. "So that is true? What kind of online shop do you run?" Yagi blinked again when Midoriya's eyes shone with stars, and he smiled brightly.

The kid stood and quickly disappeared into the house, only to return a few seconds later with a couple of notebooks in hand. "I run a quirk analysis website!" Midoriya opened up one of the notebooks and started flipping through some of the pages before thrusting it into Yagi's hand. Yagi raised his brows in shock as he started reading the entry on Present Mic. "Since I'm not a professional quirk analyst, my prices are lower, but I get a lot of business from heroes. My shop only works with certified hero agencies, so I don't accidentally help a villain." Midoriya was especially proud of the notebook that Yagi was currently flipping through. "That one is my personal notebook, so none of those analyses have been paid for. I just find it fun!" The teen flipped through his other notebook and handed that over as well. "This is another of my personal notebooks, but I wrote down some of my observations about you in it! I wanted to know what you think?"

Midoriya smiled as he watched his friend's mouth drop at the information. "My boy, this is-!" Yagi set the two books down carefully. With a grin, he flexed his muscles and transformed into All Might. "This is amazing!" The hero patted the shopkeeper on the back with a laugh. "I can't believe how accurate your profile of me is. You really are a fanboy, aren't you?"

"I love heroes so much!" Midoriya laughed as he gathered his books together. "I love everything about them, and I enjoy helping them. I can't be a hero due to my situation, but this was a way that I could contribute. I provide analyses on heroes, sidekicks, villains, and situations." He was lucky to be able to turn his hobby into a good-paying job. He always had requests to fulfill, which also helped distract him from the overbearing silence of his house. "If you ever need any analyses, let me know! I'll take any of your requests for free."

Yagi dropped his muscled form and laughed boisterously at the offer. "Thanks, Young Midoriya. I may take you up on that." The older man's phone vibrated from a text message, causing Yagi to see the time. "Oh, I didn't realize that it is almost midnight. I should probably let you get to bed, my friend." Yagi stood, grabbing the teapot and his cup while his companion put the fire pit out. After placing the two items in the sink, Yagi met up with Midoriya in the living room, and the two walked to the front door together. The pro hero turned and affectionately patted Midoriya on the head. "Thank you for inviting me over, my boy. I had a lot of fun!"

The green-haired teen smiled brightly at his friend. "I'm glad you were able to come over! Have a goodnight, Mr. Yagi!"

The man waved as he walked out of the door. Once the door shut, Midoriya sighed. The house was quiet again. He walked back to his kitchen and started cleaning up. The radio was still sitting on the counter, but Midoriya decided to take out his phone and play an old interview he liked instead. As he opened the phone, he noticed that he had a text message.

Unknown: I don't know if I scored enough points to get into the hero course, but this is the first time I've ever felt so confident about achieving my dream. Thank you for believing in me.

Midoriya smiled warmly. He didn't put Shinsou's number in his phone, so that had to be Uraraka's doing.

Midoriya: You're going to be an amazing hero. Don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise. I look forward to seeing you at the UA Sports Festival as part of the hero course.

The shopkeeper quietly returned to cleaning. He was proud of Shinsou. Even though his wish to get into the hero course was granted, Midoriya knew Shinsou would've gotten in eventually. He knew that for a fact. But he also knew that his friend probably would've been more jaded. So, Midoriya also granted the unspoken wish that Shinsou had alongside his requested wish. The other teen had been subconsciously wishing for friends. True friends that would stand by him, even with the stigma that his quirk gave him. The wish had been easy to grant without his friend's notice, the payment having already been completed. Time was both an easy and hard payment for wishes. In Shinsou's case, the time he'd spent getting bullied and all the time he spent waiting for the right people to come along was more than enough for the wish to be granted.

Midoriya could relate to that wish more than Shinsou would ever realize. He'd spent years being forgotten by everyone he met. Now, he had a couple of friends again. He had Mr. Yagi, Shinsou, and Uraraka. And it was nice. Who was he kidding? It was amazing. Midoriya chuckled wetly, wiping the tears from his eyes. He had been alone for so long that having friends again made him cry. The teen's phone screen lit up with another text notification. Midoriya clicked on the message.

Shinsou Hitoshi: Thanks. You know, would you mind if I keep texting you or if I come over again? I figure it'll be nice having a friend who's not in UA. Idk something about outside perspectives and all that. Sides. You need to get out more. I know a good cat café near your shopping district. When I get my UA letter, let's go celebrate, okay?

More tears welled in his eyes after reading the message. "Yeah." Midoriya sobbed, wiping tears from his eyes. "That sounds like fun. I wish we could."

Midoriya: I would really like that.

The silence of the house was broken by Midoriya's heartbroken sobs. Maybe it was some kind of irony that no matter how much Midoriya wanted to, he couldn't grant his own wishes.

A couple of weeks had passed since the entrance exam, and Shinsou felt his heart pound. He'd just gotten home from school, and there, sitting on the table, was his UA letter. His dad was the only one home, but he was waiting excitedly on the couch. "Hey, son! Look! Your acceptance letter arrived!"

Shinsou snorted fondly at his dad. "You don't even know if it's an acceptance letter."

"Excuse me for being optimistic for you." His dad grinned and clapped Shinsou on the shoulder. "You worked hard, Shinsou. I'm proud of you."

The teen smiled tiredly at his dad. "Thanks. I guess I should open it, then." He sat beside his father on the couch and ripped open the letter. Shinsou stared at the disk in surprise. "I guess they went fancy this year." The disk started playing, and a hologram of All Might appeared. The father and son shared a look of surprise at the reveal of the number one hero. "Hello! I am here as a projection!"

Shinsou's dad blinked in surprise. "This is from UA, right?" Shinsou nodded silently. "You may be wondering why I am the one delivering your admissions decision, and the reason is I am the newest faculty member of UA!" Shinsou would've been more surprised except for the fact that it had already been revealed to him. "You did very well on the written exam, Young Shinsou. You scored an 83 out of 100. As for the combat portion of the exam, you scored a total of 25 villain points. Now, normally this is not enough points to get into UA," Shinsou's heart sank. He knew it. He knew at the exam that he didn't have enough points. "But!" The purple-haired teen perked up in surprise. "The entrance exam was graded on more than just villain points. There was a second scoring system that is kept secret from all examinees. Rescue points!" Shinsou's eyes widened in shock.

Another system? Shinsou's father grabbed Shinsou and hugged him tightly in anticipation. "How can a hero course reject people who save others and do the right thing? And you, Young Shinsou, have the heart of a hero." The recording of All Might changed, showing pictures of Shinsou helping the other examinees. The teen couldn't help it. He felt tears well in his eyes as his father's grip tightened. "You helped multiple students during the test, and then you were the only one who ran to rescue another student from the Zero Pointer while the others ran away." The image switched to him carrying Uraraka to safety. Tears dripped from his eyes, and Shinsou gripped the bracelet on his wrist tightly as the images switched his name on the scoreboard for UA. There was his name. At 3rd place!

"Hitoshi! You did it, Hitoshi!" His father started shaking him lightly in excitement! The recording changed back to All Might. "Shinsou Hitoshi. With 25 villain points and 46 rescue points, your total score for the combat exam is 71 points. Young Shinsou! Welcome! This is your Hero Academy!"

"I-I did it! I got into the hero course! I'm going to UA!" Shinsou grinned widely and gripped his bracelet again. "I'm going to be a hero!"

His dad laughed proudly and rubbed his hand through his son's hair. "I gotta call your mom and tell her! I'm so proud of you, Hitoshi!" With another laugh, his father disappeared into the kitchen. Shinsou grinned and went for his phone too. He had to let Uraraka know that he got into the hero course! He opened up his phone and went to his messages. He paused for a moment when he saw an unfamiliar name in his message app. Who was Midoriya Izuku? The name sounded vaguely familiar, and it gave him a small feeling of warmth. Maybe he was someone he'd met at the entrance exam? He shrugged his shoulders and skipped over the chatbox, clicking on the one with his friend's name instead. He'd figure out who that was later.

Midoriya's Quirk: Wishing Well
• Midoriya's quirk not only tells him the name of the person whose wish he will be granting, but also what the wish is, what would constitute as exact payment, what that person needs for the wish to be granted, and how that wish will be granted. This has resulted in a large storeroom in Midoriya's shop, filled with payments from wishes that have the potential to be useful in someone else's wish. This is one omniscient aspect of Midoriya's quirk.
• Can see strong wishes in his dreams. This includes naps. When he receives this information about a wish, he can see the general locations of that person and a portion of their routine for the day as a way for him to locate them. This is part of the omniscient aspect of his quirk.
• Midoriya's eyes will glow slightly when his quirk is telling him how to fulfill someone's wish or when he is granting someone's wish. While his dream tells him who has a wish, what their wish is, and where they will be, he has to meet the person to see how he can grant their wish and what the payment will be.
• His quirk is the reason why people can't see the shop and forget about him if they don't have a strong enough wish or that wish has been granted. This is because [REDACTED]. In addition, villains/criminals and those who want to use him for their own gain are unable to see him. Any mention of him will also be forgotten within moments. This is because [REDACTED].
• Midoriya must grant a wish if it is asked of him; he can't deny a wish unless the cost is something the wisher can't pay. He can avoid people who have wishes, though.

New Quirk Info:
• Midoriya can grant unspoken wishes if the person has already agreed to have a wish granted. He usually adds it to their wish as part of the loophole. He only does this if the wish is easy to pay.
• Midoriya can't grant his own wishes.
