Nick wasn't expecting to have a good time. He was to expecting to arrive in Bunnyburrow, right behind his partner, force a smile for the whole long weekend, pretend to not hear some speciest comments, and go back to the city utterly exhausted. But, as was the norm these past few years, he was pleasantly surprised.

Judy had stepped aside with a smile and introduced him to her beaming family. They didn't question their romance and the town left them alone (aside from the stink eye sent Nick's way from a few bucks). But his smile was never forced as Judy had dragged him from spot to spot in an attempt to integrate him with her hometown. And this part was by far his favorite. They had gone through the orchards, baskets filled with pears, peaches, and apples, before moving through the blackberry and strawberry patches

And then, the piece de resistance.

Rows and rows of healthy, strong, well established blueberry bushes. The blue of the berries stood out like precious jewels against their dark green leaves. Nick's eyes were wide as his paws gently encouraged the ripe ones to fall into the basket Judy held. Occasionally, one was plucked out and held up for him to sample, traces of blueberry juice staining his muzzle. She smiled at the look of joy as the fruit was savored and enjoyed. Afterwards, his eyes would open and lower them to meet hers.

With smiles, they exchanged a kiss, deeping it when they tasted nothing but blueberries.
