This is my farewell mainly to the character of Patrick Jane, told in the voice of a future daughter (which is essentially my own, I guess). I shed a little tear writing it, as [WARNING] there is character death involved. I'm interested in memories, so I find retrospection healing... (You may not!) I hope it brings some kind of bitter-sweet peace - it's grieving, basically.

This simple case will open up doors that should remain shut, and Lisbon will have to keep him anchored as the walls come tumbling down.

How I would have liked the episode 'Red Fugue' to end after Lisbon takes Jane back to his house in Malibu to jog his memory. The show never told us what happened, so this is my dream ending to the episode. Light T for mild language.

My entry for this month's Paint it Red contest. The challenge's prompt was: Time was never on my side. Story: How a simple airplane flight can end up in everyone's worst nightmare. An explosion, a dead pilot and two CBI-agents are stuck in the middle of the desert with one very badly injured consultant. Lisbon and Cho are the only ones who can keep Jane alive when time runs out.

AU. After fleeing to Venezuela what does Jane think about, what does he do? What are Lisbon's reactions to his letters each month? How does Jane turn the situation to his advantage? My response to the idea Jane was passive and unthinking in exile. This is how Jane would recover and get on with his life. / I do not own The Mentalist and reap no economic benefits from this story.

Lisbon's four-year-old niece comes to visit for a month. Who knew having a four-year-old around could be such a bonding experience. Little bit of Jisbon in there.

When Red John and Patrick Jane end up on Death's doorstep, an interesting therapy session follows. (In theory it could be classed as a crossover, but I made my own Death, sooo...)

"Her knees hit the floor next to his body. She wanted to cradle his head but was afraid to touch it. Her hands hovered, unsure where to go, where they wouldn't do more harm. It's the 8th anniversary of his family's murder and Jane's going off the rails, fast. A young mother is murdered, a child abducted and an manhunt begins. Lisbon fights to keep her friend and colleague from losing everything - but he's not making it easy

What if Red John was content with murdering Jane's wife, and left him with a terrible cliffhanger and kidnapped his daughter? Could she still be out there? J/L friendship, will turn into romance. Rated T for language. No copyright infringement intended.

Patrick Jane was a happy man before Red John ruined that, but what if there was one person who managed to survive Red John's attack? What if Jane's daughter managed to hold onto her life? But Red John can't allow survivors...

This is an alternate ending to Season Two, Episode 2, The Scarlett Letter. Why did Jane say "No…" when Lisbon told him to chase after the janitor? What if he had a good reason? What if Lisbon doesn't figure it out until it's too late?
