Chapter 25: Free Ride

"If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me?"

"Wow, Kay look at this!"

Kay practically got slapped as Darjeeling shoved the travel pamphlet into her face. After having to readjust her glasses, Kay focused in on what was on the pamphlet. It had a few aircraft on it, such as a Dauntless dive bomber and a 747. The main one that caught her eye was the massive space shuttle at the top.

"What about it?"

"Can we go?!" Darjeeling clambered on top of Kay, pinning her to the couch.

"Can you stop acting like a child?"

"Well, I mean. I thought you liked it when I was a bundle of energy." Darjeeling started to turn around, pouting.

"I do but I want you to be yourself. Don't try to change yourself just to make me feel better. I love the way you were so don't change it please." Darjeeling turned around and sprung forward, sliding straight into Kay's face with her own.

"Ow, that one hurt."

"Nice going."

"That's mean for you to say that."

"Would you jump on me if I was I don't know, a little different?"

"You mean like..."

"Yep."

"Uhhhhhhhh." Darjeeling looked away blushing. "Maybe..." She tapped her index fingers together, trying to make it seem like she wasn't embarrassed.

"Oh really." Kay sat up, making Darjeeling fall to her back on the couch. Kay gently lifted up Darjeeling's shirt, and poked just below her belly button. "You wouldn't want me to put something nice and hard all the way to here?"

"Stop saying such things! A lady would never partake in such crude things."

"Oh really?" Kay crept her finger slowly up the inside of Darjeeling's shirt until she reached her chest. "Look who's being a dangerous one today." Kay shifted her finger over, feeling Darjeeling's hard nipple underneath it.

"Stop rubbing that."

"Stop jumping on me or one day you'll feel something new."

"Is that a threat?"

"No, that's a confession." Kay let herself down, giving Darjeeling a kiss as they lied there.

"So, want to go on a date?" Darjeeling held up the pamphlet again.

"Shouldn't we take our skilled aviator with us?"

"Good point. "I'll..." Darjeeling ran her finger down Kay's neck. "...get properly dressed and you can call her."

"Sure thing dear." Kay pulled her phone out as Darjeeling started for the bathroom. After a few rings, the other end of the line picked up.

"Ughhhh, who is it?"

"Naomi you sound awful. Everything alright over there?"

"We had uhhhhh... too much fun last night."

"Got yourself plastered again?"

"Maybe... It didn't help when I accidentally made a move on Pekoe."

"Ah, did you do something messed up?"

"No, from the way I feel and the fact I have her name written on my arm I think it was a good time."

"Good. Good. Hey, would you be able to come with Darjeeling and I to a local museum?"

"Uhhhh, maybe. I'll have to ask her."

"Alright, I'll stop bothering you then."

"No, no, it's fine. Oh she's stirring now." Kay heard Naomi's voice fade away for a few minutes, occasionally hearing the sound of faint talking, followed by crying, and then the sound of lips smacking on each other.

"She said she would come with me if I did. So, when do you want us to all meet up?"

"Could you meet us outside your room in an hour?"

Naomi paused for a moment before responding. "Yeah, that works. Talk to you then."

"So we're going to a museum?" Pekoe looked back at Kay and Darjeeling, her eyes sparkling while Naomi tried to focus on driving. The car's suspension was a bit soft but it made a smoother ride than they had expected.

"Yeah, we're going to a museum. You'll love it if you like what Naomi does."

Kay felt Darjeeling wrap her arms around her neck, followed by Kay feeling their cheeks rubbing together.

"Awwww, you two look too cute. What do you mean by 'like what Naomi does?"

"Doesn't she fly often?"

"Oh, that's what you meant. Yeah, she loves to fly me around. Even if she scared me that one time."

"Please just don't remind me of that," Naomi replied.

"But it's why we started dating, is it not?"

"Yes, that's true. But it's just too embarrassing."

"Are you sure it's safe to be standing underneath these?" Pekoe huddled behind Naomi, staring up at the ceiling. A bright yellow seaplane was hanging from the ceiling above them, giving the illusion that it was flying inside the building.

"You're really scared of that?" Kay attempted to make a joke of it, only for Darjeeling to elbow the side of her chest. "What was that for!?"

"Could you just be a nice, caring person in this situation? She's clearly scared of it and you just want to make fun of her for it."

"Awwwwww, is angel not having a fun tiiimmmeee." Kay wrapped her arms around Darjeeling's waist, pulling her close. "Would you like some love with that?" Kay whispered, before putting herself against Darjeeling's lips, feeling the warmth traveling into her.

"Did you really have to make a big deal out of that?" Darjeeling asked as the kiss finally broke off.

Naomi and Pekoe were just standing there, watching these two seemingly go at it once again. "You know if you're going to do that could you please not do it right next to us?" Naomi finally spoke her mind.

"C'mon Kay, let's just leave them be." Darjeeling turned back to Naomi. "When might we meet up again?"

"How does 4:30 sound?"

"Sounds great." Darjeeling waved back before dragging Kay towards the largest room in the building.

"What are we ever going to do with those two." Naomi looked back, seeing Pekoe still trembling behind her. "Here." Naomi squatted down beside Pekoe. "If you will go with me to look at one exhibit, I'll go get you a special treat. Alright?" Pekoe nodded, too afraid to say anything in return.

"See? It's just like the one I have. Except, it's not uhhhhhh, covered in bullet holes."

"So this is from the exact battle?"

Pekoe ran her fingers over the side of the fuselage, feeling the row of rivets cut out by small metal patches.

"It's so cold to touch…"

"Are you feeling better now?"

"Yeah." Pekoe turned around and put Naomi into a tight hug, slowly rubbing her face against the form of Naomi's hoodie.

"Want to go get that special treat I promised you?"

"What kind of special treat?"

Naomi looked around the room, spotting Kay dragging Darjeeling towards a ball mounted machine gun turret. "Something nice and sweet, with a nice cold kick to it."

"Having fun over there?" Naomi giggled, watching Pekoe try to make her way around an ice cream cone. The cold, white ice cream left bits all around Pekoe's face, but she didn't care at the moment. She was too busy waiting for Naomi to try hers.

"You going to try yours or not?" Naomi leaned down and gave her ice cream a lick. It was sweet and creamy, with a bit of peanut buttery saltiness.

"Want me to help you with something?"

"And what would that be?"

Naomi walked around the table, and leaned down to come face to face with the orange girl. She hesitated for a second, and then moved herself in for the kill. She gently ran her tongue over Pekoe's cheek, picking up the ice cream that had gotten there. Naomi removed herself and sat back down.

"What was that for?"

Naomi brought a finger up to her face. "You missed a spot, honey." Pekoe pouted slightly before making her own move around the table, putting herself comfortably in Naomi's lap, face to face.

"Why don't you warn me next time." Pekoe gave Naomi a soft kiss, the sensation made better by the overall coolness of Pekoe's lips.

"Why don't I just give you it all tonight."

"Subtle aren't we."

Naomi suddenly stood up, picking up Pekoe using her one available arm as a bench underneath Pekoe. "Naomi could you please just set me down?"

"No, I think we have some business to attend to in the bed."
