Chapter 5: The Eternal Lost Boy!
It's been two days since the Guide offered the two (plus Genma) to stay at his and his family's hut for a couple of days. During this time, Ranma felt a little better, but. Still sometimes felt insecure about him/herself.
They kept up with their training and sparred more as they kept trying to improve themselves. Their speed, strength, defense, and skills have increased pretty well as they continued training. Ranma has also started training Blaze to use his thin legs more efficiently to deliver much-improved Scratch and Low Kick attacks in battle. Ranma then decided to put Blaze's beak to good use by trying to create a Peck attack out of it and even taught him to kick sand into their opponents via a basic Sand Attack technique. Temporarily blinding their opponents to quickly get as many hits in. This of course made their bond grew slightly.
Today Ranma and Blaze were heading out to the cliff above Jusenkyo that gave a great view over the area. They walked all the way there, all the while conversing among themselves about training, sparring, and coming up with new ways to improve and grow.
"So, I was wondering. What exactly are you, Blaze?", Ranma asked him, curious to know what exactly Blaze is. The orange chick simply gave him a quizzical expression that told Ranma that even the chick doesn't know exactly what he is himself. As they continue approaching the cliff, a figure soon came into their view. They wondered who this person may be.
They reached near the cliff's top as they got a better view of the person. He was a boy probably around the same age and height as Ranma (as a boy). He had brown eyes, black hair with his front fringe being quite long, obscuring a pale yellow bandana.
he wears an indigo sleeveless shirt in matching pants and a black backpack and a red bamboo umbrella tucked into straps on top of his backpack. However, in his left hand, he held a familiar red and white ball, a black band circled around it with a light gray button.
The mysterious boy was looking around lost aimlessly before shouting.
"Where the hell am I now?!", The boy shouted, frustrated and lost. Ranma and Blaze were startled at the lost boy's outburst. However, the boy looked familiar to Ranma as upon closer look, the young martial artist recognized him immediately.
"Ryoga Hibiki?!", Ranma thought out loud in shock as he recognized the lost boy. Ranma wondered why the hell was he here? Why is he here? How did he even find him? Blaze simply tilts his head at Ranma, wondering who that Ryoga boy is, and how Ranma knew him. Said boy in question turned around and instantly recognized our ponytailed martial artist as he shouted.
"Ranma! I finally found you, coward! Now fight me!", The now known Ryoga Hibiki challenges our ponytailed youth to battle.
"Who are ya callin' a coward?!", Ranma shot back.
"You! Right after you ran away from our duel you coward!", Ryoga replied with an angry expression on his face.
"I didn't run away, pighead! I literally waited there on that empty lot behind your house for three whole days!!"
"And on the fourth day, you were gone! Did you think I was just wasting my time wandering around? I was tirelessly finding my way to that vacant lot and by the time I made it, you ran away!", The lost boy shouted back.
Before Ranma came to China, he attended an all-boys school for a while. During that time he met Ryoga and would fight each other. Why? Because during lunch break hours, all the students would rush over and immediately fight for the menu's last piece of special bread of the day. Such bread includes Curry Bread, Anpan, Melonpan, and many more as Ranma would in the end, always get the last piece. While Ryoga and the others would struggle to get any and fail always. This lead to Ryoga developing a heated rivalry towards the ponytailed boy and declared him as his rival and soon their fights would give rise to their reputation at school as many of the students would watch their fights.
However, one day, Ryoga issued another challenge, stating that he would defeat Ranma for taking his bread for the last time to which Ranma accepted. The battle would take place in the vacant lot behind his home on Saturday at 1:00 PM.
But, what most people don't know is that Ryoga and his family have a curse that gives them the worst sense of direction. You could leave him in a small room with one open door and window, and he'd still get lost no matter what. This worst sense of direction has made be known to his peers as 'The Eternal Lost Boy'. Often Ranma would help take him home after school to which a reluctant Ryoga accepted.
Anyway, Ranma waited patiently for literally three whole days, while Ryoga just ran off aimlessly around Japan to reach the lot. However, at the end of the third day, Genma knocked Ranma unconscious and took off to continue their trip in China. By the time Ryoga came in the fourth day, Ranma was already gone. Ryoga, refusing to let this slide tried to follow them all over Japan and China to track him down. He aimlessly wandered until finally tracking them down here in Jusenkyo.
But, back to where we were now. Ranma just groaned in exasperation as he knew from his past interactions and experience of the lost boy that he would be quite stubborn and wanted to end this quick and so he walked up to the boy.
"Ryoga, I'll fight you, but first", stares intently at the ball, "Where'd you get that ball?", Ranma asked.
"Found it, along with an egg that hatched. What's it to you?", Ryoga replied, raising his eyebrows.
"Well, that's cause", reached into his Gi and held out his ball forward, "I got one too, along with my friend Blaze here. Isn't that right Blaze?", Ranma replied.
"Tor, tor!", Blaze chirped.
"What are you on, Saotome?", asked, annoyed and curious to know what his rival was up to.
"Well Ryoga, I challenge you to a battle between Blaze and your hatched buddy, that I assumed you befriended him.", Ryoga hesitated for a moment before he decided as he smirked. Thinking he can win this with his friend. Even though they've only known each other for a couple of days, they quickly grew close as they even trained and sparred often and so he sent his friend out.
"Go, Azure!", Ryoga threw his ball high up as a red beam shot out, materializing a new creature in the air before descending down as Ranma and Blaze took in the new arrival's appearance.
It was a small, amphibious, quadrupedal mud fish-like creature. It had a blue body with a light-blue underside, a large head with a blue fin on top, and a light-blue tail fin. It had black, beady eyes and orange, star-shaped gills on its cheeks.
"Mudkip!", The mudfish cried its name out. It gave a challenging smirk towards the two, especially Blaze.
Ranma and Blaze gave off smirks as they turned to each other and nod before Blaze got into a stance with his opponent doing the same. Their confident smirks remain present. Electricity sparked between the two's gazes. Thus, starting the rivalry between the two. While the two boys also sizing each other up. Determined to prove who was better as they got ready to command each of their respective companions.
"Blaze, let's show'm what we got!"
"Azure, let's crush them!'
Both of their small respective friends got ready as they awaited their commands. Determined to win.

Ranma and Blaze managed to prevent Ryoga from getting cursed.
I planed for a Mudkip to be Ryoga's first Pokemon for a while now.
Azure's name means "Sky Blue".
Ryoga is around the same age as Ranma, being 9-10 years old.
And, as many of you who already guessed. Ryoga will be Ranma's rival. Both in martial arts and Pokemon training and battling. But, he won't be Ranma's only rival. There will be more and you'll eventually see them in future chapters.
