Chapter 27: Once In A Lifetime
"You may ask yourself, am I right, am I wrong?"
"So, this really is going to be the end of our work this year?" Darjeeling looked over at Kay, still sitting down on the bed.
"Yep. So, we have all the time in the world until the school year ends."
Darjeeling walked over, sitting down next to Kay on the bed. "Do you know what you're going to wear?"
"Yeah, that one white dress I have. You going to wear that red one?" Kay pointed over at a red frilly dress folded over a chair.
"Could you help me put it on?"
"Of course I could."

"It really does feel like forever ago doesn't it. How long of a year we've had."
"True. It's been nice spending it with you."
"Now you're just making it sound like this is the end between us. We can still hang out together, right?"
"I mean do you not want us to?"
"No, no, I want to keep going. But with it coming to an end we won't be able to see each other as often."
"I want to keep going too. Remember when all this started?"
"I'd like to forget that please, as well as a few other of our adventures."
"What does that mean?"
"I mean… there's just a few things I regret doing this year. Like me being an ass when we were out in Spain or when we were in California for the second time. It all just feels wrong or off putting to think about."
"Well, just try to forget about it. Just try to think of all the fun things we did."
"Australia was fun, so was Finland, the first time we went to California, that time we were in Paris, Hawaii, and when we went to that air museum. They are all a special piece of our travels. So, what did you enjoy this time?"
"Being able to stay at your apartment was fun. Although I have to say each time, we've gone a bit overboard was also fun."
"Oh, you really enjoyed that didn't you." Kay struck a grin, both plotting and being happy that she was able to please a girl like Darjeeling.
"Could you zip the back up for me?"
Kay did as she asked, but not before she gave her a kiss on the neck, leaving a red lip mark that was easy to see.
"If someone decides to point that out tonight, I'm gonna have some choice words."
"Hahaha don't worry so much. You'll only get 5 more if you end up doing that. And maybe a little extra if you're really good." Kay gave Darjeeling's butt a light smack as she headed for the door out of the bathroom.
"Hey, Kay?"
"What is it angel?"
"I just wanted to tell you I love you."
"I love you too." Kay walked back over, this time giving Darjeeling a long kiss on the lips, letting herself savor the moment.
"Now go get your dress so I can help you put it on."
"What a night this was." Kay looked around the room, watching what was left of the audience sitting around it small groups. She felt Darjeeling put her hand down on her dress, beckoning Kay to look over.
"What is it angel?"
"I just wanted to let you know I enjoyed being with you tonight." The pair instinctively leaned in, meeting midway with a kiss.
"Maybe we should get a new table until the two lovebirds finish up."
Darjeeling quickly pulled back, leaving Kay wanting more. As Kay turned back, she spotted Assam and Rosehip sitting down at their table. "Sorry about that, ladies." Even just after getting embarrassed, Darjeeling still managed to stay well put together.
"It's fine desu wa. It was kinda cute if I was to be honest." Rosehip yelped, getting jabbed by Assam. "What was that for?"
"For saying cute garbage like that." Assam put her arms around Rosehip's stomach, giving her a hug.
"Oh, well look who seems like a hypocrite now," Kay murmured.
"Could we join you Lady Darjeeling?" Pekoe's voice sounded firm yet faint, making sure to pin Naomi's arms to her. For her attempts to be elegant, she often came off as acting childish around Naomi.
"Sure thing." Naomi sat down in a chair, expecting Pekoe to sit next to her. Instead, she gently sat down in Naomi's lap, causing the gunner to tense up in her chair.
"So, what do you two plan on doing now?" Naomi asked.
"What do you mean by that?"
"What she means is clearly you two aren't going to be able to see each other as often, so what do you plan on doing in the future?" Rosehip replied.
"We aren't sure of that yet," Kay answered.
"You sure?" Rosehip smirked. "Where are you going to do then? Around the world?"
Darjeeling looked over at Kay, rubbing her hand against Kay's leg. Kay responded with a nod, letting Darjeeling answer this one. "Nope. Already been there."
