Peter carefully placed the stones in the gauntlet he made while Bruce and Rocket were standing by and watching him.
As soon as the stones were all resting in place, the three of them all sighed in relief. That was when Rocket had a genius idea. He smirked to himself before he tried to scare the other two member in the room.
"Boom!" He screamed.
Peter and Bruce jumped a bit, but once they saw it was only the Raccoon, they groaned at Rocket's joke. Peter glared at him before an idea popped into his head.
He smirked to himself before he grabbed his phone and played the sound of a razor. He brought his phone up to the raccoon's fur and pretended like he was shaving it off.
Rocket jumped and tried to swat the device away but when he turned around and came face to face with Peter's smirking face. Rocket glared at the young man.
"You're lucky I don't have my gun with me man." Rocket said.
"Yeah well next time don't do shit like that, this is fucking serious, not a joke." Peter said, grabbing his bottle of vodka before marching over to a side table to work on something else for a minute.
Rocket and Bruce shared a concerned look with each other. They didn't know what to do here, should they go get Natasha? He probably shouldn't be drinking that much before they were gonna do something like this, something this big but they knew that people grieved in their own way.
They didn't know what to do...
Luckily their attention was brought over to the door when they heard someone enter the lab. The both of them tilted their head in confusion when they saw Thor standing in the doorway looking at Peter with a certain look behind his eyes, a look they couldn't decipher at the moment.
Bruce and Rocket decided that they should probably leave and let the God talk to Peter by himself.
As soon as they were out of the room, Thor looked at the bottle of alcohol in Peter's hands, "You sure that's the best course of action at a time like this?" The god asked.
Peter scoffed, "Like you're one to talk."
Thor didn't comment because he probably deserved that, but he did walk forward towards the younger man. After a couple seconds of stumbling over his words, he spoke up.
"Look...Parker, I'm sorry. I may have been a little rude to you earlier and I apologize for my attitude lately, it's just...it's been a long five years." Thor said.
Peter sighed, "Yeah, I understand Thor, really I do. Don't worry about it, all is forgiven." He waved him off.
"Just like that?" Thor asked, confusingly.
"Yeah, I think we all have bigger things to worry about anyways, wouldn't you agree?" Peter asked, finally turning around to face the god.
Thor let out a small smile, "Yes, we do." He said. The God's attention was brought over to the finished gauntlet and he looked at it with a somber face.
"It's really time to fix all this."
"Yup, time to fix what that asshole created." Peter said, walking up to Thor with the bottle still in his hands.
After a minute of silence, Thor spoke up, "I'd be lying if I said I didn't have an ulterior motive coming in here, but I bet you already knew that." Peter hummed, answering the God's question. Thor decided to continue, "I know the others probably think that I wouldn't be able to do it, but maybe you could listen and see what you think."
"Go on."
"I think I should be the one to snap. I have a lot of raw power, energy inside of me, I could probably survive if I did it. The others will think I'm not...mentally capable of such a thing, but maybe you could convince them?" Thor asked hesitantly.
After a second of silence, Peter spoke, "And why would I do that? They're just trying to protect you."
"I don't need protecting, I'm the god of Thunder, I can do it, I can..." Thor said.
Peter could hear the desperation in the God's voice, the want to do something great after five years of nothing, the need to fix what you helped cause but now that Peter's having a good look at Thor, he's rethinking the idea of Thor snapping.
The others were right on this one, there was no way that Thor was capable of such a big responsibility when he was in a state like this.
Peter rested his hand on Thor's shoulder, "I'm sorry, but I agree with them, you're not in the right mind to do something like this buddy. Maybe if things were different, I would have said yes but looking at you here, now...I'm gonna have to say no Thor, I'm sorry."
Thor deflated but nodded his head in defeat, "Yeah, I figured you'd say that."
Peter pursed his lips and clicked his tongue once before he responded, "How about you go out there and tell everyone that I'll be out in ten minutes with the gauntlet fully ready, yeah?" He said. Thor nodded his head before he walked out of the door without a goodbye.
"Well goodbye to you too asshat." Peter rolled his eyes before turning around and making sure everything was alright with the gauntlet.
Back with Thor, he was on a mission. He knew from his experience that alcohol doesn't really help someone heal, and he'd be damned if he let Parker make the same mistakes as he had. Luckily, he ran into the woman who he was looking for.
"Lady Natasha, I'm glad I found you." He said as he saw her walk down the hallway, coming towards him. She raised an eyebrow at him before coming to stand right in front of him and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Why?" She asked.
"It's about your son, I just got back from his lab and he didn't look too good. I'm pretty sure he's on his second bottle of vodka." Thor said. He watched as her face crumbled just a little bit at the information before she schooled her emotions and gave Thor a grateful nod.
"Thanks, tell the others we'll be out in a few minutes." Without another word, she walked past Thor and over to her son's lab.
When she got inside the lab, she saw Peter was sitting down next to the completed gauntlet with a bottle of vodka still in his hands. When she saw the completed gauntlet so close to her son, she wanted to scream and shout at him to get away from it. It was completely irrational but she couldn't help it, those stones have caused so much pain and destruction she didn't want her son to get hurt.
She hated it whenever he got hurt...
"Having a good drink?" She asked with a raised eyebrow at him. Peter turned to look at the face of his mother and she didn't look to pleased with the alcohol.
"Thor's a fucking snitch." Peter grumbled before he took another swig of the vodka.
"Or maybe he's just a bit concerned about you." She responded to him, walking up to him and standing behind his chair, placing her hands on his shoulders.
"He doesn't need to be concerned, I can't get drunk, enhanced metabolism, remember? Can't get drunk. Really it's a fucking curse." Peter sighed. He was about to take another drink before Nat snatched it out of his hands.
"If it doesn't get you drunk then you shouldn't have a problem with not drinking it." She lightly glared at him, causing Peter to pout at her which almost, almost...made a smile creep up onto her face.
"Yeah, whatever take my drink away." Peter rolled his eyes at her. Natasha's face softened just a little before she brought his face to rest in her hands, turning him around to face her.
"Do you think Gwen would've wanted you to do this to yourself?" She asked gently. She could feel him tense and she knew that if anyone else had asked him that question he would have probably snapped at them, but he'd never do that to her.
Peter sighed after a couple seconds, "No, she wouldn't."
"The let's get up, go out there with these stones, and bring everyone back, ok? Just like she would have wanted you to do." She said dragging him up onto his feet and offering him a small smile. Peter gave her one in return before he walked over to the glass and took the gauntlet out and they both turned to make their way to where everyone was waiting for them.
Once they made it to the empty conference room, Rocket wanted to double cheek it too so once he was done, he looked around at everyone before talking, "All right. The glove's ready. Question is, who's gonna snap their freaking fingers?"
There was only one man that would possibly be able to survive that much radiation and power that was coursing through the glove, and that person just so happened to be a certain doctor in the room.
"Well all of us saw what happened to Thanos once he snapped, none of you would be able to survive that much radiation." Bruce said staring at the gauntlet with a somber look across his face.
Steve instantly knew what his friend meant though, "How do we know you will?" He asked with a raised eyebrow at the doctor. Peter could understand where the captain was coming from, they had already lost a member of their family and he was scared to lose another person to this mission.
"We don't. But the radiation's mostly gamma," he looked over and made eye contact with Steve for a second before he turned back around to face the gauntlet, "It's like...I was made for this."
"All good Banner?" Peter asked Bruce as everyone found something to hide behind. Rhodey and Scott flipped their masks down to incase their head, Steve brought his shield up to protect himself, Rocket hid behind Thor, Clint was behind Steve and his shield and Natasha was behind Peter and his energy shield that was coming out of his right arm.
When Bruce nodded his head, they all readied themselves. They were actually gonna do this, bring everyone back from five years previous, they were gonna save half the universe.
This was it...
The endgame...
"Now remember, everyone Thanos snapped away five years ago, bring them back to now, today. Don't change anything from the last five years." Peter explained and nodded his head at Bruce. The young man then flipped down his helmet and watched on as Bruce nodded again and breathed out.
"Friday, activate the 'Get Off My Lawn' Protocol." Peter announced behind his mask. They all took a second to look at the young man with varying degrees of amusement or confusion. He held up a finger for them to wait a second and let Friday explain.
"Certainly Peter." The Avengers Compound then immediately went into lockdown mode, the room that they were in instantly closing itself off with metal walls that covered all the rooms in the building.
The protocol was originally designed and made by Tony incase they had some unwanted visitors at the compound and they didn't want people to get a look on anything inside. It would seal off all the doors and windows to keep any leaked photos from popping up.
Or to keep them protected from whatever was happening.
So it worked in this case too...
"Everybody comes home." Bruce whispered with a determined look across his face.
Bruce then placed the gauntlet in front of his right hand and the gauntlet expanded to fit Bruce. He slipped his hand inside the glove and the gauntlet fully encompassed his hand.
Everyone moved a little bit closer to their shields just incase, wanting to be extra careful when it came to these stones. They watched as Bruce grunted from the pain before it soon grew into a scream as the power surged through Bruce's body.
Peter could see all the colors of the infinity stones going up his arm, it looked a lot like his veins except they were now rainbow colored. Peter watched on each passing second, his fear only growing for the doctor.
"TAKE IT OFF! TAKE IT OFF!" Thor boomed at the top of his lungs, not liking how much his friend was in so much pain and he could do nothing about it.
"No! Bruce, are you ok!?" Steve questioned the man but winced when the response he got was another shout of pain from him. He was about to tell him to take it off too when he tried to respond to them, only to scream even louder.
"Bruce!" Peter shouted from behind his shield where Natasha and him were watching with fear laced inside their bodies, "You gotta talk to us! Say something!"
"I'm... I'm okay!" Bruce finally responded to them making all the surrounding heroes breath a silent sigh of relief.
Thor gave Bruce a double thumbs-up but then Bruce screamed in agony again. Peter could see the power surging through every vein inside the man's body, slowly moving up towards his neck and head.
Bruce forced his hand upwards as he continued to scream from the power of the stones and Peter almost told him to stop, but he didn't because Bruce's thumb and middle finger were suddenly brought together and...
Snap!
Bruce instantly fell backwards and collided with the floor, his eyes rolled back into his head and the gauntlet slipped off his hand. Clint quickly moved over to the fallen glove and kicked the burning gauntlet away and the protocol was deactivated just as fast.
The others deactivated their suits and took their masks off and quickly made their way over to the downed doctor. Peter was the one who made it there first and sprayed some cooling mist on Banner's arm that he housed in his fake right hand. He usually used it if he had gotten burned on a job so it worked out perfectly for this.
"Did it work?" Steve asked, kneeling down next to Bruce to lay a comforting hand on his shoulder. Scott walked over to the window to look outside and Peter from his place next to everyone else can faintly hear birds chirping.
"Well, I..." Peter was about to answer when they all heard a phone start to ring. He looked over to the table and to saw that Clint's phone was the one that was ringing. The archer quickly moved over to it and picked it up but once he saw the name on the caller ID, he started to tear up.
Laura...
He quickly answered the phone as fast as he could, "Honey…Honey." He said to his wife on the other end of the phone. While he was talking to his wife, Scott was in the next room over still looking outside at all the wildlife that just seemed to appear out of nowhere.
"Guys, I think it worked!" He exclaimed with an excited smile across his face.
"Pyotr?"
Everyone's head wiped around and came face to face with Yelena, staring at them all in confusion.
Peter's eyes widened and he stared at her in shock, not really believing that she was back and alive. Natasha was actually the first one to break out of her shock and quickly moved forward and brought her younger sister into a hug. The younger spy was confused but she hugged back nonetheless. Her eyes then landed on the man who was still staring at her in shock.
"What, you look like you've seen a ghost, do I not get a hug?" She asked with a teasing smirk. Peter then snapped out of it and rushed towards the two woman and buried himself between them, soaking in the comfort from some of the most important women in his life.
All the surrounding heroes smiled at each other in relief. They did it, they fixed what they helped cause and now everyone was back. Peter was so happy that he could've screamed. Unfortunately, that couldn't last forever.
Peter saw Bruce look up over Natasha's shoulder and his eyes widened in shock and a little bit of fear. He was about to ask him what was wrong when his senses screamed at him to get cover.
"Everyone get down!!!" He screamed, trying to get both Yelena and Nat to move but it was too late.
Not even a second later, the whole compound blew up and buried the Avengers and the stones underneath the ruined building.

"She's not picking up her phone!" Ana exclaimed, pacing back and forth in the living room. Mary Jane and Sonia were both looking at her in slight concern.
May had gone down for her nap a little while ago, right before the news had hit the two women.
There was a giant ship over the compound.
Or what was left of the compound...
"You have to relax Ana, their communication probably got knocked out when the building exploded, there's no need to worry...at the moment." Mary Jane tried to calm her down but she was also internally freaking out. What if something happened to them, to Peter? And she didn't know about it?
"I'm really worried about her." Ana said, referring to Gwen. She just had this feeling in her stomach that wouldn't go away.
Dread...
"She'll be fine Ana, everything's gonna be ok." Ana was about to speak again when Mary Jane's phone went off. She instantly rushed to see who it was and saw that it was Pepper.
Mary Jane and Ana shared a look before they accepted the call.
"Pepper? Is everything ok?" Mary Jane asked.
"Did you know what they were doing?!" Instead of Pepper, it was Tony that was on the other end of the phone causing the two women to wince. They knew that he wouldn't liked being left out of everything but they all thought they were doing the right thing keeping him out of it.
"Yes, we did." Ana said.
"Of course, was this Romanov's doing, hmm? I bet you all my money that this was his doing. When I get my hands on him I'm gonna strangle the guy." Tony huffed before he passed the phone onto his wife while he stomped away towards his garage, going to get the suit out of storage.
"Sorry about him, he's just wound up at the moment. I'm sure you know he doesn't like it when he's not kept in the loop of things." Pepper apologized to them when she got the phone back.
"No it's ok, we deserve it. We kept something huge from him so he has every right to be mad at us." Mary Jane sighed.
"Still, he can be little mean when he gets like this. He just doesn't like seeing his family hurt."
"Yeah, I understand the feeling." She said, frowning a bit in thought. Ana place her hand on top of her shoulders in comfort, already knowing her train of thoughts.
"They'll be ok Mary Jane." Pepper said from the other side of the phone.
The young woman looked over to their mantle across from them and stared at the picture of all of them together.
Her, Peter, May, Ana, Gwen Natasha, Sonia...
Their family...
A family that they built up from nothing...
"I know...they'll be ok." She repeated the words once again before hanging up and setting her phone down on the side table.
If only she could believe them herself...

Back at the compound, Bruce was buried underneath all the ruble, trying to hold up tons of debris from collapsing on top of the others that were down there with him. Rhodey was stuck in his damaged suit while Rocket was stuck under a piece of concrete.
"I can't breathe. I can't breathe! I can't breathe." The raccoon exclaimed, trying with all his might to push the rock off of his body but having no luck in doing so.
"Canopy. Canopy. Canopy." Rhodey said from inside the suit. As soon as the words left his mouth, the suit opened up and allowed Rhodey to get out.
"Rhodey, Rocket, get outta here!" Bruce screamed, straining to keep the debris off of the others with only one good arm.
Rhodey crawled over to where Rocket was trapped under the concrete and realized there was no way he could get that off of him by himself. He quickly looked around until his eyes landed on a metal pole. He grabbed it and placed it underneath the concrete to use it as leverage to lift it off of him.
As soon as the debris was off of him, Rocket quickly moved to stay next to Rhodey, slightly hiding behind the man.
"Hurry up! Hurry up! Come on!" Rocket looked over at Bruce. They both saw what the doctor was going through, they have no idea how he's managed to keep all of the concrete off of them for so long with only one good arm.
Bruce looked up for a second and his eyes slighty widened, "Rhodey!" He exclaimed. The two of them looked to where he was looking and saw that water was quickly leaking into the room they were in. The water quickly reached up to Rhodey a chest from his position leaning against a wall.
Rhodey and Rocket shared a concerned glance between the other with an ounce of fear on both of their faces. The Colonel pressed his finger to his ear, "Mayday, mayday! Does anybody copy? We're in the lower level, it's flooding!"
"What?" The voice of Scott Lang answered them. Rhdoey could have breathed a sigh of relief when he heard the man's voice. If anyone could get to them, it would be Scott.
"We're drowning down here, we need help!!"
"Wait! I'm here! I'm here, wait a little longer!!"
Bruce held onto the structure but they could tell it was starting to slightly slip from the man's grip. Rocket tried to keep Rhodey above water since he knew it would be difficult to stay afloat with the man's braces on his legs but that was also proving to be a little difficult.
The place smelled absolutely revolting. There was so much garbage floating around them, sharp pieces of metal, giant pillars of wood, basically anything you could thing of, it was there with them, floating around.
It was so dark that Rhodey could barely make out Rocket in front of him, let alone Bruce who was roughly twenty feet away. They couldn't see anything without light, but they didn't need to see to feel the water was quickly rising.
"I'll see you on the other side." Rhodey declared towards the the raccoon, Rocket slightly whimpered at the thought but it defiantly looked like he was not making it out of this anytime soon, or at all.
"Don't give up!" Scott yelled through the coms, "I'm coming!"
—————————
Meanwhile, Clint was in the sewer system.
He quickly got up and tried to get his bearings a little bit, grabbing a light form his belt and flashed the light upwards to see what happened.
"Cap? Nat? Pete, you there?" He asked in his com but only could hear static through the ear piece.
Clint looked around and found the gauntlet was with him. He walks over to the glove and picked it up. When he picked it up though, he also heard around from behind him. He quickly turned around and shot an arrow with a light towards the dark tunnel and when the light when down the hall, he saw hoards of aliens, slowly crawling to him.
"Damn." Clint muttered under his breath. He quickly turned around and ran towards the opposite direction with the gauntlet in his hand while the aliens chased after him.
All the way back up on the surface, Peter jolted awake and instantly started to cough into his hand due to all the dust in the air. He quickly looked around and didn't see his mother or Yelena anywhere so he panicked. His helmet quickly encompassed his head, and he didn't waste a second trying to figure out where they were.
"SCARLETT, where's mom and Yelena?" He said. Peter needed to know they were ok, because if they weren't, he'd never forgive himself.
"They appear to be relatively ok Peter. Natasha seems to have a sprained wrist but Yelena has no injuries. They seem to be a floor underneath you." She responded. Peter breathed a sigh of relief at that information, glad that they were ok.
"Good, are there any others up here with me?" He asked.
"It appears that Captain Rogers is fifteen meters away from your current position." She said as she marked Steve's position on his hud. Peter quickly made his way over to him.
When he got there, he saw Steve knocked out on the ground with his shield on the ground next to him. Peter walked up to him and lightly kicked the man on the side of his leg, "Come on Steve, wake up." He said. Steve quickly woke up and grunted in pain before he reached for his shield. Peter offered him his hand and helped pull the man up, "That's it, come on we gotta go."
"What happened?" Steve asked. Peter had a pretty good suspicion about what did this, who did this. There was only one person in the universe that would do something like this.
"Well, when you mess with time, it tends to mess right back." Peter said, walking towards the direction where SCARLETT pinged Thor was on his hud.
When the two men got there, they saw that Thor was staring off into the distance with a glare. They had no idea what he was looking at until they got closer and saw.
Thanos, sitting down on a piece of rubble, waiting...
"What's he been doing?" Peter asked, not taking his eyes off of the Titan.
"Absolutely nothing." Thor spat with venom lacing his words. Peter could relate to that though, he was pretty pissed that this asshole was back too.
"Where are the stones?" Steve asked.
Peter shook his head, "Somewhere under all this shit. The only thing that matters is that he doesn't have them yet."
"So we keep it that way." Steve nodded his head with a determined look across his face.
"You do know it's a trap, right?" Thor said.
"Yeah well, I've never been one for self preservation that much so I could give a damn. Someone's gotta make sure he can't get the stones." Peter said.
"Good. Just as long we are all in agreement," Thunder started to crack and rumble across the sky as Thor stretched out both of his hands to summon both Stormbreaker and Mjolnir. His casual clothes transformed into his armor and cape, with his beard braided, "Let's kill him properly this time."
They all started to walk over to Thanos. The madman that caused the whole universe an unimaginable amount of pain. He looked like none of this was bothering him which only caused Peter's anger to flare at the alien.
He was sitting down on the rubble, his double sided-sword stabbed into the ground, his golden armor covering him except for his head. Peter could see the helmet was hanging off the top of his sword.
He looked to be in better condition than what Peter was used to. A little younger but Peter reminded himself that this alien was far from some random threat. He could definitely hold his own and Thanos is more than capable enough to wipe the floor with all of them.
This wasn't a standard bad guy, this was the Villain who destroyed half of the universe...
He killed half of all the populations on every plant in the galaxy, his justification being mercy from the bad that would have come to pass. He tore families apart and didn't even care. He thought he was doing the universe a favor but really he was just making peoples lives even more miserable.
He killed Loki and murdered his daughter for the stones, he doesn't care about anyone else but himself, not even his loved ones.
Just thinking about everything this monster did made so much anger swell up inside of him...
They were a few feet away from the madman when he finally decided to speak up, "You could not live with your own failure. And where did that bring you? Back to me. I thought by eliminating half of life, the other half would thrive. But you've shown me that's impossible. And as long as there are those that remember what was, there will always be those that are unable to accept what can be. They will resist."
"Yeah, well us heroes tend to be a little more stubborn when it comes to shit like this." Peter said to the madman while glaring at him. He didn't like how calm he was with all of this. He had this smug attitude around him since he knew he won and Peter would gladly spend all night beating it the fuck out of him.
"I'm thankful. Because now, I know what I must do." He then slowly started to stand up which caused all three heroes to tense and get into slightly defensive positions. "I will shred this universe down to its last atom," Thanos walked over to his sword and picked up the helmet that was resting on top and placed it on his head, "And then, with the stones you've collected for me, create a new one. Teeming with life, but knows not what it has lost but only what it has been given...A grateful universe." Thor then decided to light himself up with lightning as he glared at the Titan. Steve gritted his teeth and Peter was about ready to jump the alien and pummel him into the ground.
A second time...
"Born out of blood." Steve basically spat the words back at the alien. But Thanos didn't seem to be bothered by the man's words.
"They'll never know it. Because you won't be alive to tell them."
All Peter could think about were his girls that were still at home. His sister, his girlfriend, his daughter all safe, away from this monster. But if Thanos were to win, they'd all be gone, he'd never be able to say I love you to Mary Jane, he'd never be able to banter with his sister...
He'd never see the happy face of his daughter smiling up at him, watching her nuzzle against him for comfort...
He'd never get to see her grow up...
Peter would not stand for that, May is the one Damn good thing that he's done in his life and he would make sure that she'd live to see adulthood.
Whatever it took...
Peter glared with all the hatred that he felt for the madman before he locked eyes with the other two heroes...
And charged...
