"Look we don't need some mystical crap all we need is the spring of the drowned couple"
Genma said before tossing a bucket of water at Rakanma but instead of splitting them into a couple like he thought they split, so they had two heads with one body, each had their own arm (left arm was Ranma's, right arm was Akane's) and they had three legs. They turned and looked at each other than down at themselves.
"HOT WATER NOW" they screamed in a panic
Kasumi poured a kettle of hot water on them, which fused them back together
"OH, Thank Kami-sama"
"For once you had a good idea, Pop"
"Not so fast Ranma, your father, still can't read Chinese"
"SO THAT WASN'T THE SPRING OF THE DROWNED COUPLE?"
"Nope"
"THEN WHAT WAS IT?"
"Spring of the Siamese twins"
"YOU MEAN THAT THAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED Anyway"
"Yes, but this is the right version," Cologne said as she doused Rakanma
A moment later Ranma and Akane were separate "IT WORKED" they chorused then looked at each other, then down at themselves, but before they could say anything Sayuri and Yuka who had come over to check on them saw them causing Yuka to state "You are separated, great" then she and Sayuri grabbed each of Akane's arms and ran out yelling "We're stealing Akane for a while" as they left
Ranma stared at their retreating bodies and a horrified look on the face of Akane, but before she could say anything, Genma tossed her into the koi pond "let's spar, boy" she stood and attacked, meanwhile the girls had finally stopped in front of a store which was a dress shop
"Whoa, wait a minute, girls"
"What's wrong, Akane? We were going to do this before Kuno's stunt"
"That's just it -sigh- we're not cured"
"What do you mean?" Sayuri asked with Yuka adding "You look normal"
"Looks are deceiving, I am Ranma, not Akane"
"…"
"…" Yuka shook her head, "So I guess that means you'll have to fuse again"
"Yeah, and it's…looking like…"
"Then let's give you a few hours without, Akane…"
"Umm"
"Look you may end up being a girl for half your life or even permanent if you get locked again, right" Ranma sighed as she nodded "and we will want to be friends so let's show what it will be like so Akane isn't forcing you"
"Well, I reluctantly admit you have a good point, but what can we do. We can't do clothes shopping because Rakanma's sizes are different"
"True, but you could try stuff on and plan to get it for Akane if you do get permanently separated"
"Ok, I guess"
Back at the dojo Genma was soundly beaten so Ranma(Akane) went into the dojo and started training and was surprised because instead of doing just the stuff he knew, he was also doing stuff Ranma knew. After a while, he went inside and decided to play with the curse and also play dress up.
She got her camera and took some pictures before taking a bath, changing back to a boy, getting dressed and heading to Uuchan's. On the way there, Neko-Shampoo appeared and Ranma(Akane) froze for a moment then "C… C…CAT!" and he took off running. Meanwhile, Yuka, Sayuri and Akane(Ranma) just came out of the theater with their bags
"Thank you"
"For what Ranma?"
"For letting me be normal" she looked down at herself, "even if it is as a girl"
"No prob…Ranma you ok"?
"C… C…CAT!" she dropped her bags and ran off in a blind panic, leaving a sweat dropping Yuka and Sayuri behind, who grabbed her bags.
"Well, if we had any doubt that Akane was trying to trick us, it's obvious now that she really was Ranma"
Akane(Ranma) finally stooped running and found herself in the park both figuratively and literally as she saw her male self (Akane) "What are you doing here?" Akane(Ranma) asked as she walked up to him.
"Damn Sham…shampoo and her f***ing curse"
"But why would…"
"I guess because of being in your body, …"
"Doubt it because I ran from Sayuri and Yuka when a cat crossed in front of us"
"Oh"
They returned to the dojo, grabbed one of the hidden thermoses and used some hot water to become Rakanma again. They then went inside and found Cologne waiting with everyone, as soon as she saw them, she asked.
"Why did you use hot water?"
"BECAUSE WE SEPARATED INTO THE WRONG BODIES"
"Darn I thought it had worked, good thing you fused before arriving because I was going to toss this permanence water on you two"
She slipped it into her sub-space pocket and pulled the twin water again as they decided to try it again. Unfortunately, they ended up with the same results, much to their disappointment, and so they fused back together as Cologne said
"Don't give up yet, we are still waiting to hear from the shop owner and there is one more thing that I can think of that we can try"
"What's that Elder?" Kasumi asked.
"This is an incense similar to what Happosai used on Ranma, but instead of splitting the evil or dark side off, this was used for increasing the tribe in times of war. It would split our men into yin and yang".
Rakanma went upstairs with Cologne, and after she set the incense and hit their sleep pressure point, she left the room. A few short hours later everyone heard one set of footsteps running down the stairs followed by a second set, a second later Rama and Akane entered the living room. With Akane in her yellow dress with white collar and pink bow while Ranma was in his usual red and black outfit.
"You did it, Old Ghoul, Tha…." Ranma started saying only for a bewildered Nabiki cut her off and asked.
"Uh, did you say that, Ranma?"
"Of course, I did, Nabs. Why?" Akane's voice/Ranko's body asked.
"Yeah Oneechan, why did you ask that?" Ranko's voice/Akane's body asked
"Because either you are in the wrong bodies again or your voices got swapped because you sound like each other?"
"SON OF A" Ranma and Akane started
"RANMA/AKANE LANGUAGE," Nodoka and Kasumi said together
"SORRY Mom/Oneechan"
"Well, this was another bust"
"Is there a way to put us back together?"
Cologne put them back together then tried again but got the same results
"OK, THANKS FOR TRYING Elder/Old Ghoul, BUT NO MORE TRYING TO SPLIT US"
The next day while Rakanma the Nekohatten phone rang
"Niaho, thanks for calling the Nekohatten. How may Shampoo help you?"
"I am calling for someone named Cologne"
"Just a moment, please" she then pulled the phone away from herself and yelled "Great Grandmother, phone for you"
A/N:
As I said at the beginning I, unfortunately, can't think of any way to make this longer and so Rakanma chapter 5 WILL also be the Epilogue

while I had planned on doing one failed attempt, based on some fan art I had seen. Your comment/suggestion inspired me to do two others. However, I couldn't really think of any way to expand them to be a bigger part of the story (ie: at least a chapter) for each, so while they are short I hope you liked what I did with the failed attempts & I thank you for your comment/suggestion
